00:33But like we said, this sibling rivalry,
00:35it is legitimate for this championship and this race win.
00:38It resumes right now.
00:44And Chet and Hunter, Hunter as usual up front,
00:47Deegan's there with them.
00:49Deegan in front of Chet, going after Hunter.
00:52Hunter Lawrence, great start.
00:53Hey, Deegan slides in front of, looks like Jorge Prado's
00:57running in his fourth.
01:00Fastest guys on the racetrack, running one through four.
01:03All right, Deegan's been working on the starts.
01:04He got one of them.
01:05He's ahead of one of the brothers.
01:09And this will be interesting now.
01:11Does he know Deegan's going to try?
01:13Yeah, Hayden's going to try.
01:15And, you know, to his credit, I mean,
01:16he was pretty close to a Hunter for half that moto,
01:19that first one, and kind of lost in tow with those guys.
01:21So, see what he can do.
01:23You can tell Jeff knows, a little sense of urgency.
01:27Got to try to get around Hayden, not let my brother do what he,
01:30what I do to everybody else and get comfortable in this moto.
01:34So, I look for Jeff to try to put a pass on Hayden,
01:36if he can, pretty early.
01:37Hey, he tried on the first lap last week at Redbone.
01:40And it ended up going down.
01:43So, let's see if that's in the back of Jet's mind.
01:50Oh, it's going to be fun to watch play out.
01:53RJ Hampshire down in the first-turn crash.
01:56Jet looking for running room, looking for lines.
02:00Yeah, at this point, especially early in this race,
02:03I mean, Jet almost doesn't have a choice but to try to get around Hayden,
02:06unless he fills a gap over Jorge Prado.
02:09Because he's going to be eating roost,
02:10and Jorge's too close for him to drop back too much.
02:13So, see if they can do it.
02:15And, you know, every lap that he stays in front of Hayden Deegan, that is.
02:17He's going to start believing.
02:20He's going to be troubled.
02:22Oh, you give the 38 even a whiff of confidence.
02:27Things will change.
02:28And they are all in the mail on the first lap.
02:39Yeah, now you can see Jet dropping back just a little bit.
02:42He's got a gap over Jorge, so he doesn't have to worry about Jorge coming on the inside,
02:47trying to ride his lines, and I'm sure he'll probably see this race play out.
02:52Try to go out to the 38 if he can.
02:55All right, one and a half seconds is the lead for Hunter over Deegan on lap one.
03:10And they're using all this racetrack right now,
03:13trying to find the smooth stuff on the side.
03:18Yeah, Hayden's able to close that gap up a little bit.
03:20And it just seems like on the beginning part of the racetrack,
03:23Hayden's a little bit quicker than those guys.
03:25I think he just comes in the corners a little bit harder.
03:26But when it gets to these open parts, you have to kind of rely on their body and bike.
03:32They start pulling away as Hayden almost goes down right there.
03:36You see that number one closing in on him.
03:38Yeah, you're right.
03:38This section, Jet a little bit faster than Hayden,
03:41but Hayden holding his own right now against the brothers.
03:45Got a lot of experience in the sand.
03:49Yeah, that inside line in that corner is probably going to end up working out.
03:52You have to go a little bit slower, and they get that inside line
03:54to be a lot smoother for him.
04:04You can hear the crowd.
04:05It's the setup everybody wanted coming in to Pro Motocross in 2026.
04:10Deegan V. The Lawrence is holding the zone right now.
04:23And he got back away from Jed and he's going after Hunter.
04:27Yeah, again, I think it's just certain parts of the racetrack where he really can kind of charge in.
04:32Hayden looks like he's just attacking, entering the corners.
04:35And these long sweepers, like I said, the Hunter is able to kind of pull away from, like, in this
04:41section here.
04:43He carried that momentum up and pulling that gap just a little bit.
04:56They did the call before the storm here in the first five minutes.
04:59And he also had to raise.
05:00He ended up raising his brake pedal a little bit.
05:03Pulling Prado just a little bit.
05:05Who's in fourth?
05:12Hayden continues that trend being a little bit faster in this section.
05:16Yeah, you see him able to get away from Jed again.
05:18A little bit of that could be because it's more of a follow the leader in that section, Bruce.
05:23But at the same time, he's able to close in on Hunter just a bit.
05:26JT?
05:27Yeah, you know, he has been able to close up.
05:29I'm really impressed with Hayden's speed here.
05:31You know, just the ability to not only close back in on Hunter at times, but really keep Jed at
05:36bay.
05:36Because I can guarantee you, Jed does not want to be in the position he's in right now.
05:40He would love to be up ahead of Hayden pressing on Hunter.
05:42But this is really just a testament to steady and continued improvement from Hayden, really from the jump in this
05:48championship.
05:49Yeah, I agree with that.
05:50But also what you said, Jason, what happened last week in that first moto, Jed doesn't want that to happen.
05:55Because if anything, the worst he wants to do is finish second by on his brother.
05:59He doesn't want to go down and have an opportunity to lose more points.
06:02So, yeah, that's probably in the back of his mind.
06:04But at the same time, Jed, you know, he's been here before.
06:07He's probably watching Hayden stay somewhat close to Hunter.
06:10And if he's thinking about winning this race, as long as Hunter doesn't get too far away, he'll probably be
06:14kind of content to just stay here.
06:17And we've mentioned it every week on this show.
06:19Well, it makes it so difficult to figure out what you're getting from the Lawrence's because they appear to be
06:25very strategic about how they use their speed.
06:27But at the moment, Hayden has pulled away from Jed and is going after the 96 of Hunter.
06:40And Hayden has yet to lead a lap on the 450.
06:43Does he have a shot at it here?
06:47You can see how much faster Hayden charges in that corner.
06:50Actually, a really good line right there.
06:52Stayed in there, let that bike slide in there, missed all those bumps.
06:54Now, what you can really tell and see how easily if Hunter is able to pull a gap again and
06:59they start doing that tug of war, then you kind of know.
07:01But so far, it's so good with Hayden, JT.
07:04Yeah, he looks great.
07:04And he's really exploiting the edges of the racetrack.
07:08He's trying to find the smooth lines.
07:10I did that segment at halftime talking about the very insides and where there weren't any bumps.
07:14He's been using a few of those.
07:16You see him get a little bit out of shape there.
07:17There's a section right where Christian Craig went down and forth with the Moto One.
07:21He's all the way on the edge of the track.
07:23You'll see how much time he's making up on Hunter.
07:26So he's really, like, visually trying to find faster ways to go around this racetrack, maybe.
07:30Well, in talking with his dad, JT, he said that he's using his head to think more instead of just
07:35using that Prado.
07:36It's more strategy, less pull set.
07:39Meanwhile, his hipboard is telling him to focus forward and breathe.
07:46Marchbanks from fifth has gone down.
07:48So you're going to see him start drifting back in the order with Prado fourth.
07:52It's a rare race coming into Southwick where I feel like Hayden Deegan was not one of the hot topics.
07:58So much talk about the Laurances and Prado.
08:00Braden said, Lucas Kunin coming over as a visitor.
08:03Braden said a little bit under the radar, which is not what we're used to from Danger Boy.
08:09But I think he's outperforming expectations right now.
08:12He looks good.
08:13And if you heard me talk about early in the motos, some of these inside lines, what JT was talking
08:18about, like this one,
08:19what Hayden's doing is to stand on the inside of those bumps.
08:22And now there's berms on the outside.
08:24So what's happening is that he's sliding into these berms and able to catch it.
08:28So he's able to keep his momentum up while saving energy.
08:31But that's usually entering into the corners, and that's where he's making up the time.
08:34But quickly as we say that, Jett's closing that gap back up.
08:38Hunter's starting to stretch it out.
08:41And like I said, you never know what you're getting out of Jett Lawrence.
08:45Oh, they bump wheels.
08:47That was close.
08:49All right, Jett's in attack mode now.
08:52See Hayden running inside.
08:54There's no bumps.
08:55But the key thing is he has to get a little deeper in that corner to keep that momentum up.
08:59So this is an opportunity where Jett can't pass because now Hayden's going to have to make a decision,
09:03go inside or outside.
09:05And Jett goes right by.
09:08Well, that was quick.
09:09Oh, Hayden Deegan tried to follow him scrubbing and almost threw it away.
09:13Oh, that was close.
09:14About a jump earlier than he did last year with that scrub.
09:17Yeah.
09:18That'll wake you up right there.
09:20That was close.
09:22We see it more from Jett when he's leading these races, but how about that?
09:26Eight minutes behind Deegan, but when he decided to go, there was a noticeable difference.
09:32Yeah, he definitely is.
09:34And I think Jett sat back and, like I said, Jorge, now he's starting to close up.
09:38So I've got to push that pace.
09:39And eventually, he understands that Hunter, if he stays up there, probably going to get
09:43tough.
09:44I need to make that pass now.
09:46A little motivation never to follow the number 38.
09:49But nonetheless, Hayden's doing a great job riding good.
09:52Jett's going towards the front and look at him close that gap on his brother.
09:54Wow.
09:55Yeah, that was the one thing.
09:56Even while sitting back in third, it wasn't like Hunter had put so much time into Deegan,
10:01where it was eight or nine seconds.
10:03Jett was still close even while in third.
10:05He's got a shot at it.
10:06Deegan going to do all he can to hang.
10:18Pivotal moment in this championship if Jett can run Hunter down.
10:21Here's the pass.
10:22There's Jett Lawrence right here.
10:24Now what he's going to do, he's basically going to cut on the inside and run down here
10:29and then basically push Hayden towards outside.
10:32Hayden gets in that corner right here.
10:34Now Jett, at this moment, all he has to do is just beat Hayden to that line.
10:37He's got that pass, and it was pretty easy.
10:39But that was all set up by how he was able to exit that corner.
10:42Here you go again.
10:43See him stand on the inside.
10:44Now he's not hitting in his bumps, keeping out Honda.
10:47Down there, power.
10:49Simple as that.
10:50Great pass by Jett Lawrence.
10:54You know, when riders move up to the 450 class,
10:56we talk about how they have to learn how to race each other.
10:58Is there even a moment of Jett trying to figure out,
11:01I haven't actually battled Hayden Deegan much.
11:03I've got to figure out how to approach this.
11:05Does that happen for a racer?
11:07Yeah, and these kids are smart.
11:08I mean, all of them Hayden as well.
11:10So even though you haven't raced them for a while,
11:12you watch these videos and you saw what Hayden did and what makes him Hayden
11:15and opportunities that you can't allow him to do, JT.
11:19100%.
11:20And you talk about these moments.
11:22You see Jett look over to see where Hayden was there.
11:24These moments in the race are so pivotal.
11:27That last lap, Jett went 2-0-2, which was two full seconds quicker
11:31than his brother Hunter and four seconds quicker than Hayden Deegan.
11:35It's those laps where they have them in their back pocket if they need to throw them in.
11:38The question is, what does Hunter have in his back pocket if he needs it?
11:42Can Hunter respond and throw in some heaters here to answer the question of Jett Lawrence?
11:47Yeah, it's going to be good.
11:48Now you see him.
11:49Now what you're going to probably see is Jett back off and understand that,
11:53all right, I caught my brother.
11:54So let's see what Hunter, what's the next move for Hunter?
11:57Does Hunter pick up the pace and that's going to make me react?
11:59If he doesn't, then I'm going to save this energy.
12:01But nonetheless, I'm going to have to fight him towards the end.
12:04And if less one of us goes down, they're going to battle for the beginning,
12:07to the end of his race.
12:09Checker, chest, baby, chest.
12:12Yeah, I don't know if people always believe that.
12:14It certainly looks like it's full set, but no, they're thinking about it.
12:17This battle for fifth in the bottom box is March Banks trying to march his way back to fifth after
12:23he fell.
12:24This would be a season best for Cooper Webb, who is running fifth right now, the three-time Monster Energy
12:30Supercross champion.
12:31And putting in the work in the stand, he and Deegan came here two weeks ago to test.
12:35Paying off for Webb right now.
12:38Top box, 96 of Lawrence trying to pour it on and get away from Jett.
12:42Katie.
12:43That's interesting, right?
12:43They came here to test together, both he and Hayden Deegan.
12:47Cooper was actually testing both his and Hayden's fight to help Hayden out,
12:51to verify that the team was going in the right direction.
12:53So they kind of were telling me that he was taking on a mentor role,
12:57a leadership role within the Hayden and Cooper Webb space.
13:00It's pretty cool to see that dynamic between the two.
13:04Yeah, wow, you don't hear that much.
13:07But a veteran of the team, Webb, helping out his young teammate.
13:09They pulled away from him now.
13:11And it's Hunter versus Jett, and a little role reversal from a week ago
13:15where it was Hunter putting in the stockings and the charge.
13:19Jett's the one on the move now.
13:21Yeah, I think Hunter's still in a good spot.
13:23I mean, he understands that his brother's going to be there.
13:25And you can tell by the lines that he's running.
13:27He's kind of doing those, what we were talking with Hayden Deegan,
13:30missing these insides, these bumps.
13:32But it's the slower line.
13:34So if you're leading a race and you know the guy's going to come,
13:37take these lines, wait for him to get there,
13:40and then have some energy to fight with.
13:42But Hunter's doing a great job.
13:44Jett is a little bit faster, but I think a little bit more about Hunter's
13:47waiting to plan this race out.
13:49It's really kind of dictating the gap between these two and many banks.
13:58Checking in with Webb.
14:01And Marchbanks, yeah, is back ahead of him.
14:03So I'll push Webb to sixth.
14:06Webb has not had a top five in a moto since 2023 at High Point.
14:10Just got pushed back, was fifth.
14:12It's the Fly Racing rider check-in.
14:15Webb now sixth.
14:16Simon Sittin, the Pumpex Yamaha 16th, Hampshire 17th.
14:21Sure Fly Racing would love to have Lucas Coonan on that graphic,
14:23but he is not racing in this moto after a crash in moto one.
14:29Yeah, good ride for RJ.
14:30He went down on the start, so making his way back up inside the top 20.
14:34We'll get some points for now.
14:39Webb digging deep.
14:40Oh, the Oscar Yamaha star racing machine.

14:52And it's one of those things.
14:53This question is asked over and over and over,
14:56with Webb being a three-time Supercross champion
14:58and a one-time race winner in the 450 class of motocross.
15:03You see these last five finishes, 12, 8, 10, 13, 8.
15:07Yes, he is not at the level that he is at Supercross.
15:10But then you think of top 10.
15:13There are riders in this field doing everything they possibly can.
15:17And Webb is still actually finishing ahead of them.
15:19The level is so high.
