01:21these battles you got to win these battles also and one of the problems for prado has been dealing
01:27with a lot of traffic both in supercross and motocross he admitted last week it's got to get
01:32better at that well he was leading that moto at red mode so you don't know if that's gonna be

01:37leads to some of the variants of lap times here got some traffic in front of him now
01:43you see those last couple finishes for him but that 17th at hangtown that was a bike problem
01:49like the back and we know or he's always been a great starter so with him dealing with lap traffic
01:58might seems like an excuse but i can understand why normally he's out front leading these races and
02:03when you're not leading lappers just reacting a little bit different so or here get better katie
02:08yeah he is getting better but the team recognizes that right and they're talking to him about
02:12the fact that he does tighten up when the lappers are around and he was telling you it was because
02:16he's
02:16unsure what they're going to actually do so he feels he has to be a little bit more conservative
02:20in some places when those lappers are around the team right now is encouraging him by telling him to
02:25focus and be aggressive
02:30and deegan had the really good lap time last time around 204. he drifted back to a 206 which prado
02:37matched so it's now two and a half seconds and still plenty of time left in this moto shout out

02:43guy jordan smith his best finish of the year was a night that high point he is in seventh right

02:49as triumph develops that new 450 that's new this year and smith in the big class for the first time
02:56in his career this year and also big news from that team as i said about the sad but also

03:03relief variety austin forkner at one point one of the hottest prospects in this game has called it a career
03:09after just many difficult injuries and forkner announced it this week on his social media child
03:16gave him a send off with their statement as well uh we hope whatever austin does next he finds his
03:22footing in life we've seen austin in a lot of races show a lot of speed he should be in

04:04lead that's coquitos one of the locals and hunter able to clear hand that was close man he should
04:09need to call the police man that was too smooth criminal right there that was beautiful caroli's out
04:16battling around top ten not sure maybe a bike problem here for the legend out of italy helping
04:22develop that ducati oh feet off for hunter yeah it's just challenging uh this racetrack
04:31still there so he was able to get past those lap routers but yeah hunter needed to make that that
04:37pass around that that guy in that corner because otherwise he got held up and jeff might have an
04:41opportunity so really smooth there morick's have been one two in six of the eleven motos this year they've
04:51won all eleven but what will the order be today you know secretly i i think this is kind of
05:00this is
05:01a big moto it is not only just for this overall but really for this championship what we've seen hunter
05:07lawrence do the last couple weekends you know it makes it's new you know for everybody and now like
05:13i said in the early part you're asking the question you know can jet beat hunter at the point the
05:19way he's
05:20been doing it clearly he can he's got the speed he looks a lot better so that's that body language
05:25i
05:25was talking about in that first motor him going down with the lead but he looks better big moment
05:31in this race jt it sure is and you know what i've noticed is they they both have their strengths
05:36on
05:36this racetrack jet is so quick right before the finish line that fast straightaway into that left he's
05:41making up a ton of time on hunter and i believe actually hayden was as well but then they get
05:45into
05:45some of the other sections it seems like hunter has a little bit of an edge so you get this
05:48yo-yo
05:49effect where it kind of shrinks the lead and then hunter's able to pull it back out yeah and again
05:54what hunter's doing he's i wouldn't say he's riding protective lines but he's riding lines to where
06:00he's gonna have to make jet go around the outside so you can ride this racetrack somewhat down the
06:05middle of the highway with the turn signals off and make that guy have to guess and what it's going
06:09to
06:09do is make jet have to run these outside lines so what you're going to see is jet closes up
06:14on hunter
06:15quite a bit but i don't think that's really indicative on how uh the speed of hunter is more
06:19of his line selection because he knows he's going to be for a fight and so much traffic you got
06:26to
06:26imagine both of these riders are exhausted bell on this track that is so rough but you're right it's
06:34a big moment like i've said if this were the moritz is battling for this title and these race wins
06:38we'd be pitching this as an epic rivalry if it was sexted in towback like it was back in 2022
06:44or if it was sexted against hunter like it was in 2024. the fact that these two work together so
06:51well away from the races kind of conceals how big a deal this is and how badly they want to
06:57win this
06:58title and it's between them for the race win the points lead hunter off the racetrack hanging it out
07:03jet is right there yeah so that lap rider was on that inside so hunter couldn't hit his line and
07:09you
07:09notice how more aggressive he was trying to get back to that line again as long as he rides down
07:14the middle of the racetrack he's not holding him up but he's playing defense in here and he's going
07:19fast in the parts that he knows that jet might be able to have an opportunity to make these passes
07:23this great race craft i go back to what hunter said the first time he really saw that battle which
07:30was a high point on 250s about four or five years ago and he said you know the velociraptor in
07:36jurassic park he just keeps getting smarter and smarter i learned from him he learns from me i
07:41learned from him he learns from me and you're seeing it in real time right now yeah this is really
07:47cool
07:47now you see jet switched up his line so now he did that he's not going to close in on
07:52hunter because
07:52he's riding hunter's same line and now you see look at hunter he's picking up the page look at the
07:58lap
07:58before this is really at the test of will so what he's going to try to do he's got a
08:02little bit of gap
08:03he might look back like okay maybe i'll put in the hot lap let me see how much energy my
08:07brother
08:08has at this moment jet stays there and then he'll end up um going back to the other boat bottom
08:15box is
08:15prado closing on deegan for third so what they're telling us is first half of the track sectors one and
08:22two better for hunter sections five and six back half of the track better for jet
08:32again that's four of hunters line now he's on the outside here he missed his line there so
08:37it's okay as long as jets not closed but you're probably gonna watch the number one close in here
08:48all right battle continues katie yeah it continues and this is obviously what they were even doing all
08:54weeks long they actually rode sand tracks this week instead of their normal training facility
08:59they were outside dade city and it was actually a recreational facility that is open to the public
09:04but they could ride it and they didn't they spent one day there just trying to get familiar and
09:08comfortable with the sand uh that's a legendary crew jt yeah and i know james and i have probably spent
09:14way more time there than we would like to that place is absolutely brutal and it's really
09:19an off-road park you know people are there on quads or on um uh you know all sorts of
09:24vehicles throughout
09:24the week it's a little bit sketchy but crew week everybody knows that the pros come everybody clears
09:29out and it's really more of a pro national on on tuesday and wednesday than it is anything else so
09:34yes
09:34that's a long time tested uh place to get prepared for this race track
09:40is whatever they're doing is working it's working as they're getting but now you can see that gap
09:45hunter tell my body like he's pushing it out making jet reacts look how much quicker he's going in
09:51this corner this section he is pulling it back out oh and as we say that he's over the bars
10:02i gotta stop talking about this stuff it ain't you it's just unbelievable
10:07and an endo has given hunter lorence the lead and here comes degen
10:14uh he's gonna have jorge frado go around him as well yeah he's not back up to speed
10:21under that bike got damaged
10:27like i said if this were any other two battling these moments these falls for both of them would be
10:35magnified that was a big one yeah big one vince in this all day now hunter lawrence is on the
10:43split screen here everything looks good he's gonna get back and all he's gonna do is just get in here
10:48just bury the front end there it is
10:54almost looks like he hit neutral at a moment but at the same time it's just
10:59easy to look the way he got a little too far forward here we go again
11:04just bears it and probably what's taking him a little bit to get going is man that heat this is
11:09at the end of the moto hot day southwick all that energy just got shot out of him
11:17shout out to hayden and jorge frado for being that close to be able to capitalize on them
11:23that's true they were pushing each other and that allowed them to go right by jt hey i mean
11:29it certainly could be the heat but i'm just wondering if kind of he took a shot to the gun
11:33there maybe knocked the wind out of himself a little bit because all of a sudden when you're
11:36going momentum like that you come to a sudden stop you run into the motorcycle and then straight
11:40over the bar so clearly not a hundred percent but that's a huge break in this championship for jet
11:45warrants absolutely what jet lawrence needed yes jt the two overall wins in a row for hunter
11:51and just as we were saying it looked like hunter might have been building that gap back up
11:56it flips and look at this jet lawrence is not only looking at the overall win
12:01because hunter lost a couple of spots there in addition
12:05shit at the moment would take the red place back
12:11and then you know looking at the laptops before hunter uh crash he ran a 203 which matched his fastest
12:19lap time at the end of the moto changes the dynamic so
12:24yeah that's going to be a tough one two motos you know first photo last weekend and this one but
12:31clumsy is going to be i think he'll probably react like how jet did that first moto like yeah you're
12:36gonna
12:36be mad because you lost the race but man hunter was riding really good but what can you say about
12:41this kid
12:42jet lawrence always there to capitalize his pressure made hunter continued to ride and he ends up going
12:48down so either way you look at it these two was raising the game and eventually something has to
12:52break and hunter so far that first uh second moto he was the one that goes down
12:59jt yeah you just wonder you know so much has been talked about jet in this injury and how he's
13:05been
13:05able to manage that and that brand new part that foot peg that they manufactured this week at the last
13:10second you wonder how much of a role that's played today hope we'll get a chance to ask him that
13:14after
13:15the races did it help what did he feel different about it because he's he's had a little bit more
13:20fight today and you notice you guys made mention of it which i love after that first moto he wasn't
13:25downtrodden he wasn't pessimistic after that first moto you could see a little bit more pep in his step
13:30than a week ago it might be pep in his step from a literal sense maybe that's the difference that
13:37foot
13:37ankle taken a little bit less of a beating and it was a lot of it his dad darren lawrence
13:42cobbled
13:43together some ideas i asked him did you do the welding he's like no i gotta make they came over
13:48and
13:49did the welding they tried a couple things and they sent some ideas over to honda out california
13:53to put it together with their engineers and talking to lars the team manager you know they usually don't
13:58rush parts like this because they want maximum durability testing so they were pretty confident it would work
14:07looking good right now yeah you know i i agree and i think anything that kind of helps you know
14:13it could be more mentally anything to have that safeguard but i will say this you know this is
14:19jet lawrence coming back and understanding the moment as this track you know catching foot pegs i
14:25think he understood that look this championship it's not getting away as long ways from being done but
14:30at the same time the way these last couple weekends going i gotta bounce back and we haven't really
14:35seen jet have to do that to this level in the 450 class especially outdoors and this is the champion
14:42so as much as people might think that it's here whatnot this guy has a heart to be able to
14:47understand
14:47the moment and realize that no matter what foot peg or not i gotta step up and that's what he
14:52did he
14:53kept the pressure on his brother was able to get him the second moto after tough first moto with him
14:58good stuff
15:02oh yeah hunter is staring three straight overall wins in the face jet wasn't letting him off the hook
15:13and i gotta imagine when you're dealing with that as you see hunter yeah he's not up to his normal
15:19pace
15:19here it still has a giant got over the rest of the field which would be march banks in fifth
15:23just hope that
15:24he's okay we have seen it all today yeah normally i'd be like no he's he's fine but yeah who
15:32knows these
15:33guys are so tough they're hot injuries we just had the our winner the last moto but i think at
15:39this
15:39point hunter's got 37 30 seconds over march banks at this moment it is hot just lost the lead look
15:46i'm
15:46not going to catch the guys in front let me just ride this thing home overall would still be lawrence
15:52and lawrence jet over hunter deegan would be third overall you know we got basically three laps to go
15:58just click one of those track markers there prado is now two and a half seconds off of deegan they
16:03have been pacing each other for what feels like an hour right now prado and deegan sure hey probably
16:10like an hour but eight hours away my body feels but i mean still a good ride by both jorge
16:18and hey deegan
16:19like i said when normally these two they get out front they get a gap and they're gone look at
16:24the
16:24distance they have over everybody else but they fought there and able to capitalize on the mistake
16:30by one of them well it'll take momentum anyway you can get it if you're deegan and prado they will
16:36beat hunter in this moto and white flag in route
16:48oh look at this battle between the triumph teammates haram the danish rider and smith
16:55fighting it out for seven and eight
16:58haram on the outside 31. looks like he's got him i will say these on these hot days like this
17:04here at southwick it'll test a lot of relationships on here this heat
17:09i got it mean to but still a good ride by jordan top 10 here
17:18mikhail's actually got a pretty good pace he's able to get around justin barsha
17:21as well rj moves up until 10th position so good ride by him and haram such a great guy i
17:30hope the
17:30fans get a chance to meet him during his run he was here last year and he's going back to
17:37europe next
17:37year oh wait a minute is prado putting in one last charge james from the timing score it looks like
17:43he's all over him got it down at 0.7 seconds between prado and deegan well that'll show you that

17:51doesn't give up no doubt there it is how close is he deegan must know he's there because he is
18:01pushing and
18:02there it is a lap and a half left it's gonna be good right here
18:10does this change overall at all if he's able to get around uh yeah you know what i think it
18:17would
18:17tie and that could put prado on the podium one lap left
18:24this guy's been close quite a bit this year
18:32this is it right here yep there it is yep it's a four point gap between them on the chart

18:38there you see on the left side it would be a four point swing and then the tie would go

18:43he could make this pass and he is coming after it yeah what he's trying to do he saw some
18:48passes
18:48getting made right here so it wasn't close enough hey did a good job but jorge is going to try

18:53stay really close to him and
18:57small mistake ends up round by hayden no one has ever questioned the grip of deegan

19:15pretty well jorge as well see him hugging those
19:21little uh those markers there trying to find that smooth surface and sometimes if you can hug them
19:27that sand kind of breaks away off the edge right there fills in these holes so
19:31kind of dampens those those breaking bumps well jett lawrence with this overall win it'll be the 27th of
19:38his career he will tie the great bob hurricane hannah for career wins in the premier class
19:44but out of all the wins very few bigger than this because it's the rare moment where jett lawrence was
19:49on the ropes in this series he was definitely better today than he was at redbud
19:58maybe hunter was going to get this moto anyway but hey just going to feel that a couple got away
20:04from him as
20:04well and we're halfway to this championship you cannot get much more even than these two brothers
20:12right now no absolutely not it's going to be an exciting second half jett lawrence needed to win
20:18today and he will win today jett lawrence wins southwick
20:25deegan holds off prado in a battle of wills to the end
