00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:56Psalm 12
04:59Deliver, Lord, for the godly have disappeared.
05:04People of integrity have vanished.
05:06People lie to one another.
05:09They flatter and deceive.
05:11May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts.
05:18They say, we speak persuasively.
05:21We know how to flatter and boast.
05:23Who is our master?
05:26Because of the violence done to the oppressed,
05:29because of the painful cries of the needy,
05:31I will spring into action, says the Lord.
05:34I will provide the safety they so desperately desire.
05:39The Lord's words are absolutely reliable.
05:44They are as untainted as silver purified in a furnace on the ground,
05:49where it is thoroughly refined.
05:53You, Lord, will protect them.
05:55You will continually shelter each one from these evil people.
06:00For the wicked seem to be everywhere when people promote evil.
06:06Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
06:09as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
06:14world without end.
06:16Amen.
06:19Psalm 13
06:22How long, Lord, will you continue to ignore me?
06:26How long will you pay no attention to me?
06:30How long must I worry and suffer in broad daylight?
06:34How long will my enemy gloat over me?
06:39Look at me, answer me, O Lord, my God.
06:42Revive me, or else I will die.
06:46Then my enemy will say,
06:48I have defeated him.
06:50Then my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.
06:56But I trust in your faithfulness.
06:59May I rejoice because of your deliverance.
07:02I will sing praises to the Lord when he vindicates me.
07:07Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
07:11as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
07:15world without end.
07:17Amen.
07:21Psalm 14
07:24Fools say to themselves,
07:26There is no God.
07:28They sin and commit evil deeds.
07:31None of them does what is right.
07:34The Lord looks down from heaven at the human race
07:37to see if there is anyone who is wise and seeks God.
07:42Everyone rejects God.
07:44They are all morally corrupt.
07:47None of them does what is right,
07:49not even one.
07:52All those who behave wickedly do not understand.
07:55Those who devour my people as if they were eating bread
07:59and do not call out to the Lord.
08:03They are absolutely terrified,
08:05for God defends the godly.
08:08You want to humiliate the oppressed,
08:11even though the Lord is their shelter.
08:15I wish the deliverance of Israel would come from Zion.
08:19When the Lord restores the well-being of his people,
08:22may Jacob rejoice.
08:24May Israel be happy.
08:26Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
08:31As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
08:35world without end.
08:37Amen.
08:42The Book of Job, Chapter 6
08:46Then Job responded,
08:49Well, if only my grief could be weighed,
08:51and my misfortune laid on the scales too.
08:55But because it is heavier than the sand of the sea,
08:57that is why my words have been wild.
09:02For the arrows of the Almighty are within me.
09:06My spirit drinks their poison.
09:09God's sudden terrors are arrayed against me.
09:13Does the wild donkey bray when it is near grass,
09:16or does the ox low near its fodder?
09:20Can food that is tasteless be eaten without salt?
09:24Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
09:29I have refused to touch such things.
09:32They are like loathsome food to me.
09:36Oh, that my request would be realised,
09:38and that God would grant me what I long for.
09:42That God would be willing to crush me.
09:45That he would let me lose his hand and kill me.
09:49Then I would have my comfort.
09:53Then I would rejoice.
09:55In spite of pitiless pain.
09:58For I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.
10:03What is my strength that I should wait?
10:06What is my end that I should prolong my life?
10:10Is my strength like that of stones,
10:13or is my flesh made of bronze?
10:16Is not my power to help myself nothing?
10:20And has not every resource been driven from me?
10:25To the one in despair, kindness should come from his friend,
10:29even if he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
10:34My brothers have been as treacherous as a seasonal stream,
10:37and as the riverbeds of the intermittent streams that flow away.
10:42They are dark because of ice.
10:45Snow is piled up over them.
10:48When they are scorched, they dry up.
10:51When it is hot, they vanish from their place.
10:55Caravans turn aside from their roots.
10:58They go into the wasteland and perish.
11:01The caravans of Temah looked intently for those streams.
11:05The travelling merchants of Sheba hoped for them.
11:09They were distressed, because each one had been so confident.
11:13They arrived there, but were disappointed.
11:17For now you have become like these streams that are no help.
11:21You see a terror and are afraid.
11:24Have I ever said,
11:26Give me something, and from your fortune make gifts in my favour?
11:30Or deliver me from the enemy's power,
11:33and from the hand of tyrants ransom me?
11:37Teach me, and I for my part will be silent.
11:40Explain to me how I have been mistaken.
11:44How painful are honest words,
11:46but what does your reprove prove?
11:51Do you intend to criticise mere words,
11:54and treat the words of a despairing man as wind?
11:59Yes, you would gamble for the fatherless,
12:02and auction off your friend.
12:05Now then, be good enough to look at me.
12:07I will not lie to your face.
12:10Relent, let there be no falsehood.
12:13Reconsider, for my righteousness is intact.
12:17Is there any falsehood on my lips?
12:20Can my mouth not discern evil things?
12:24This is the word of the Lord.
12:27Thanks be to God.
12:49Thanks be to God.
13:19Thanks be to God.
13:49Thanks be to God.
14:09The First Epistle of St John, Chapter 5
14:14Everyone who has faith that Jesus is the Christ
14:17is a child of God.
14:20Everyone who has love for the Father
14:22has love for his child.
14:24In this way, we are certain that we have love
14:26for the children of God,
14:28when we have love for God and keep his laws.
14:31For loving God is keeping his laws and his laws are not hard.
14:37Anything which comes from God is able to overcome the world,
14:41and the power by which we have overcome the world is our faith.
14:46Who is able to overcome the man who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God.
14:53This is he who came by water and by blood, Jesus Christ.
14:57Not by water only, but by water and by blood.
15:01The Spirit is the witness, because the Spirit is true.
15:06There are three witnesses, the Spirit, the water and the blood, and all three are in agreement.
15:13If we take the witness of God, then the witness of God is greater because this is the witness which
15:20God has given about his Son.
15:23He who has faith in the Son of God has witness in himself.
15:27He who has not faith in God makes him false,
15:31because he has not faith in the witness which God has given about his Son.
15:37His witness is this, that God has given us eternal life,
15:41and this life is in his Son.
15:44He who has the Son has the life.
15:46He who has not the Son of God has not the life.
15:50I have put these things in writing for you who have faith in the name of the Son of God,
15:56that you may be certain that you have eternal life.
16:02We are certain that if we make an ear request to him which is right in his eyes,
16:07he will give ear to us.
16:10If we are certain that he gives ear to all our requests,
16:13we are equally certain that we will get our requests.
16:18If a man sees his brother doing a sin which is not bad enough for death,
16:23let him make a prayer to God and God will give him life whose sin was not bad enough for
16:28death.
16:30There is a sin whose punishment is death.
16:33I do not say that he may make such a request then.
16:38All evil doing is sin, but death is not a punishment for every sort of sin.
16:44We are certain that one who is a child of God will do no sin,
16:49but the Son of God keeps him so that he is not touched by the evil one.
16:55We are certain that we are of God, but all the world is in the power of the evil one.
17:01We are certain that the Son of God has come, giving us a clear vision,
17:06that we may see him who is true,
17:10and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ.
17:14He is the true God and eternal life.
17:20My little children, keep yourselves from false god.
17:24This is the word of the Lord.
17:27Thanks be to God.
17:38Now, according to your word, Sovereign Lord,
17:41permit your servant to depart in peace.
17:45For my eyes have seen your salvation,
17:48that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
17:52a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
17:56and for glory to your people Israel.
18:00Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
18:05as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
18:09world without end.
18:11Amen.
18:16I believe in God the Father Almighty,
18:20Maker of heaven and earth,
18:22and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
18:25who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
18:28born of the Virgin Mary,
18:31suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
18:34was crucified, dead, and buried.
18:37He descended into hell.
18:39On the third day he rose again from the dead.
18:43He ascended into heaven,
18:45and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
18:50From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
18:55I believe in the Holy Spirit,
18:57the Holy Catholic Church,
18:59the communion of saints,
19:01the forgiveness of sins,
19:03the resurrection of the body,
19:05and the life everlasting.
19:08Amen.
19:13The Lord be with you,
19:16and with your spirit.
19:20Let us pray.
19:24Lord, have mercy upon us.
19:27Christ, have mercy upon us.
19:32Lord, have mercy upon us.
19:38Our Father, who is in heaven,
19:42holy is your name.
19:44May your kingdom come.
19:46May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
19:51Give us this day our daily bread.
19:54Give us this day our daily bread.
19:54Forgive us our trespasses,
19:56as we forgive those who trespass against us.
20:01Lead us not into temptation,
20:03but deliver us from evil.
20:06For yours is the kingdom,
20:08the power and the glory,
20:10for ever and ever.
20:13For ever and ever.
20:13Amen.
20:19O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
20:22and grant us your salvation.
20:27protect and guide those in authority over us,
20:32and mercifully hear us when we call upon you.
20:38Endue your ministers with righteousness,
20:41and make your chosen people joyful.
20:46O Lord, save your people,
20:50and bless your inheritance.
20:54Give peace in our time, O Lord,
20:58because there is none other who fights for us,
21:01but only you, O God.
21:05O God, make clean our hearts within us,
21:09and take not your Holy Spirit from us.
21:20Let us pray.
21:23O God, the protector of all that trust in you,
21:27without whom nothing is strong,
21:29nothing is holy,
21:31increase and multiply upon us your mercy,
21:34that you being our ruler and guide,
21:37we may so pass through things temporal,
21:40as we finally lose not the things eternal.
21:44Grant this, O Heavenly Father,
21:46for their Jesus Christ's sake,
21:48our Lord.
21:49Amen.
21:57O God,
21:59from whom all holy desires,
22:02all good counsels,
22:03and all just works proceed,
22:06give to your servants that peace
22:08which the world cannot give,
22:11that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments,
22:14and also that, by you,
22:17we, being defended from the fear of our enemies,
22:21may pass our time in rest and quietness,
22:25through the merits of Jesus Christ,
22:28our Saviour.
22:29Amen.
22:34Lighten our darkness,
22:36we beseech you, O Lord,
22:37and by your great mercy defend us all
22:40from perils and dangers of this night.
22:44For the love of your only Son,
22:46our Saviour,
22:47Jesus Christ.
22:49Amen.
22:53Almighty God,
22:54who has given us grace at this time with one accord,
22:58to make our common supplications to you,
23:01and promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
23:06you will grant their requests.
23:10Fulfill now, O Lord,
23:12the desires and petitions of your servants,
23:15as may be most beneficial for them,
23:19granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
23:23and in the world to come,
23:25life everlasting.
23:27Amen.
23:30With the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
23:33and the love of God,
23:34and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
23:36be with us all evermore.
23:40Amen.
