00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:51The Lord's name be praised.
04:57Psalm 22
04:59My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
05:04I groan in prayer, but help seems far away.
05:09My God, I cry out during the day, but you do not answer,
05:13and during the night my prayers do not let up.
05:17You are holy, you sit as king, receiving the praises of Israel.
05:23In you our ancestors trusted.
05:26They trusted in you, and you rescued them.
05:29To you they cried out, and they were saved.
05:33In you they trusted, and they were not disappointed.
05:36But I am a worm, not a man.
05:39People insult me, and despise me.
05:42All who see me taunt me.
05:44They mock me, and shake their heads.
05:48They say, commit yourself to the Lord.
05:51Let the Lord rescue him.
05:53Let the Lord deliver him, for he delights in him.
05:58Yes, you are the one who brought me out from the womb,
06:02and made me feel secure on my mother's breast.
06:06I have been dependent on you since birth.
06:09From the time I came out of my mother's womb,
06:12you have been my God.
06:14Do not remain far away from me, for trouble is near,
06:18and I have no one to help me.
06:21Many bulls surround me.
06:24Powerful bulls of Bashan hem me in.
06:28They open their mouths to devour me,
06:31like a roaring lion that rips its prey.
06:35My strength drains away like water.
06:38All my bones are dislocated.
06:40My heart is like wax.
06:42It melts away inside me.
06:45The roof of my mouth is as dry as a piece of pottery.
06:50My tongue sticks to my gums.
06:53You set me in the dust of death.
06:56Yes, wild dogs surround me.
06:59A gang of evil men crowd around me.
07:02Like a lion they pin my hands and feet.
07:06I can count all my bones.
07:09My enemies are gloating over me in triumph.
07:12They are dividing up my clothes among themselves.
07:16They are rolling dice for my garments.
07:20But you, O Lord, do not remain far away.
07:23You are my source of strength.
07:26Hurry and help me.
07:29Deliver me from the sword.
07:31Save my life from the claws of the wild dogs.
07:35Rescue me from the mouth of the lion
07:37and from the horns of the wild oxen.
07:40You have answered me.
07:43I will declare your name to my countrymen.
07:46In the middle of the assembly I will praise you.
07:49You loyal followers of the Lord, praise him.
07:53All you descendants of Jacob, honour him.
07:56All you descendants of Israel stand in awe of him.
08:01For he did not despise or detest the suffering of the oppressed.
08:06He did not ignore him.
08:07When he cried out to him, he responded.
08:12You are the reason I offer praise in the great assembly.
08:15I will fulfil my promises before the Lord's loyal followers.
08:19Let the oppressed eat and be filled.
08:23Let those who seek his help praise the Lord.
08:26May you live for ever.
08:29Let all the people of the earth acknowledge the Lord and turn to him.
08:33Let all the nations worship you.
08:36For the Lord is king and rules over the nations.
08:41All of the thriving people of the earth will join the celebration and worship.
08:46All those who are descending into the grave will bow before him,
08:50including those who cannot preserve their lives.
08:55A whole generation will serve him.
08:58They will tell the next generation about the Lord.
09:02They will come and tell about his saving deeds.
09:06They will tell a future generation what he has accomplished.
09:11Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
09:15as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
09:19world without end.
09:21Amen.
09:25Psalm 23
09:28The Lord is my shepherd.
09:30I lack nothing.
09:32He takes me to lush pastures.
09:34He leads me to refreshing water.
09:37He restores my strength.
09:39He leads me down the right paths for the sake of his reputation.
09:43Even when I must walk through the darkest valley,
09:47I fear no danger, for you are with me.
09:51Your rod and your staff reassure me.
09:55You prepare a feast before me in plain sight of my enemies.
10:00You refresh my head with oil.
10:02My cup is completely full.
10:05Surely your goodness and faithfulness will pursue me all my days,
10:09and I will live in the Lord's house for the rest of my life.
10:15Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
10:19as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
10:24world without end.
10:26Amen.
10:33The book of Job, chapter 11
10:38Then Zophar, the Namathite, spoke up and said,
10:42Should not this abundance of words be answered,
10:45or should this talkative man be vindicated?
10:49Will your idle talk reduce people to silence,
10:52and will no one rebuke you when you mock?
10:56For you have said,
10:58My teaching is flawless, and I am pure in your sight.
11:03But if only God would speak,
11:05if only he would open his lips against you,
11:07and reveal to you the secrets of wisdom.
11:10For true wisdom has two sides,
11:12so that you would know that God has forgiven some of your sins.
11:18Can you discover the essence of God?
11:21Can you find out the perfection of the Almighty?
11:25It is higher than the heavens.
11:27What can you do?
11:29It is deeper than shale.
11:32What can you know?
11:34Its measure is longer than the earth,
11:36and broader than the sea.
11:39If he comes by and confines you,
11:41and convenes a court,
11:43then who can prevent him?
11:45For he knows deceitful men.
11:48When he sees evil, will he not consider it?
11:52But an empty man will become wise,
11:54when a wild donkey's colt is born to a human being.
12:02As for you, if you prove faithful,
12:04and if you stretch out your hand toward him,
12:07if iniquity is in your hand,
12:09put it away,
12:10and do not let it reside in your tent.
12:14For then you will lift up your face without blemish.
12:17You will be securely established and will not fear.
12:21For you will forget your trouble.
12:23You will remember it like water that has flowed away.
12:28Life will be brighter than the noonday.
12:31Though there be darkness,
12:32it will be like morning.
12:35You will be secure because there is hope.
12:38You will be protected and will take your rest in safety.
12:42You will lie down with no one to make you afraid.
12:45And many will seek your favour.
12:49But the eyes of the wicked fail,
12:51and escape eludes them.
12:54Their one hope is to breathe their last.
12:58This is the word of the Lord.
13:01Thanks be to God.
13:11God bless you.
13:41God bless you.
14:12God bless you.
14:13God bless you.
14:23God bless you.
14:40The third epistle of Saint John
14:44I, a ruler in the church, send word to the well-beloved Gaius, for whom I have true love.
14:52My loved one, it is my prayer that you do well in all things.
14:56Be healthy in body, even as your soul does well.
15:01It gave me great joy when some of the brothers came and gave witness
15:05that you had the true faith and were walking in the true way.
15:10I have no greater joy than to have news that my children are walking in the true way.
15:17My loved one, you are doing a good work in being kind to those brothers who come from other places,
15:23who have given witness to the church of your love for them.
15:27You will do well to send them on their way well cared for, as is right for the servants of
15:33God.
15:34For they went out for the love of the name, taking nothing from the Gentiles.
15:40So it is right for us to take in such men as guests, so that we may take part in
15:46the work of true faith.
15:50I sent a letter to the church, but Di Trophies, whose desire is ever to have first place among them,
15:57will not have us there.
16:00So if I come, I will keep in mind the things he does, talking against us with evil words.
16:07As if this was not enough, he does not take the brothers into his house,
16:12and those who are ready to take them in, he keeps from doing so, putting them out of the church
16:19if they do.
16:21My loved one, do not be copying what is evil, but what is good.
16:27He who does good is of God.
16:30He who does evil has not seen God.
16:35Demetrius has the approval of all men, and of what is true.
16:39We give the same witness.
16:41You are certain that our witness is true.
16:45I had much to say to you, but it is not my purpose to put it all down with ink
16:50and pen.
16:51For I hope to see you shortly, and to have talk with you face to face.
16:57May you have peace.
16:58Your friends here send you their love.
17:01Give my love to our friends by name.
17:05This is the word of the Lord.
17:08Thanks be to God.
17:20Now, according to your word, Sovereign Lord,
17:23permit your servant to depart in peace.
17:26For my eyes have seen your salvation,
17:30that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
17:33a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
17:37and for glory to your people Israel.
17:42Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
17:47as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
17:51world without end.
17:53Amen.
17:58I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
18:01maker of heaven and earth,
18:03and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
18:07who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
18:10born of the Virgin Mary,
18:12suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
18:16was crucified, dead, and buried.
18:19He descended into hell.
18:21On the third day, he rose again from the dead.
18:25He ascended into heaven,
18:27and is sitting at the right hand of God,
18:30the Father Almighty.
18:32From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
18:37I believe in the Holy Spirit,
18:39the Holy Catholic Church,
18:41the communion of saints,
18:42the forgiveness of sins,
18:45the resurrection of the body,
18:47and the life everlasting.
18:50Amen.
18:55The Lord be with you,
18:58and with your spirit.
19:02Let us pray.
19:06Lord, have mercy upon us.
19:09Christ, have mercy upon us.
19:14Lord, have mercy upon us.
19:20Our Father, who is in heaven,
19:23holy is your name.
19:26May your kingdom come.
19:28May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
19:33Give us this day our daily bread.
19:36Forgive us our trespasses,
19:38as we forgive those who trespass against us.
19:42Lead us not into temptation,
19:45but deliver us from evil.
19:48For yours is the kingdom,
19:50the power and the glory,
19:53for ever and ever.
19:55Amen.
20:00O Lord, show your mercy upon us,
20:03and grant us your salvation.
20:09Protect and guide those in authority over us,
20:14and mercifully hear us when we call upon you.
20:19Endure your ministers with righteousness,
20:22and make your chosen people joyful.
20:28O Lord, save your people,
20:32and bless your inheritance.
20:36Give peace in our time,
20:38O Lord,
20:40because there is none other who fights for us,
20:43but only you, O God.
20:46O God, make clean our hearts within us,
20:51and take not your Holy Spirit from us.
21:02Let us pray.
21:06Grant, O Lord, we beseech you,
21:08that the course of this world
21:10may be so peacefully ordered by your governors,
21:13that your church may joyfully serve you
21:16in all godly quietness.
21:18Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
21:21Amen.
21:30O God,
21:31from whom all holy desires,
21:34all good counsels,
21:35and all just works proceed,
21:38give to your servants that peace
21:40which the world cannot give,
21:43that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments,
21:47and also that by you,
21:50we, being defended from the fear of our enemies,
21:53may pass our time in rest and quietness.
21:58Through the merits of Jesus Christ,
22:00our Saviour.
22:02Amen.
22:07Lighten our darkness,
22:08we beseech you, O Lord,
22:10and by your great mercy defend us all
22:13from perils and dangers of this night.
22:17For the love of your only Son,
22:19our Saviour,
22:20Jesus Christ.
22:22Amen.
22:26Almighty God,
22:27who has given us grace at this time with one accord
22:30to make our common supplications to you
22:33and promises that when two or three are gathered together in your name,
22:39you will grant their requests.
22:42Fulfill now, O Lord,
22:44the desires and petitions of your servants,
22:47as may be most beneficial for them,
22:52granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
22:55and in the world to come,
22:57life everlasting.
23:00Amen.
23:03May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
23:05and the love of God
23:06and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
23:09be with us all evermore.
23:12Amen.
