00:00All right, Dale Ryder in for Ted Carman on a Friday.
00:05They're asking the question.
00:07They're begging to know, will there be a coming in hot today?
00:12I mean, fair warning, we will get off it.
00:14It'll be diabolical question time.
00:15If we got to hit the dump button twice immediately, that'll be it.
00:18That'll be the end of all the fun.
00:20And so we're not doing coming in hot during Andrew Barry's interview at 9 o'clock.
00:26We can ask him if he wants to be a party to it a little bit later on.
00:29I mean, that's fine with me.
00:30I think Andrew can be a fun guy.
00:35He might have a coming in hot for you.
00:36I've seen a different side of Andrew.
00:38As have I.
00:39You know, so many of these guys, like they just, I guess this is part of staying power.
00:46I mean, he's been here six years.
00:47So you think, all right, maybe he gets a little more comfortable.
00:49Yeah.
00:50But Kevin never did.
00:51Oh, no.
00:52With a microphone in front of him.
00:53Yeah, Kevin was afraid of his own shadow if there was a microphone around.
00:58Off mic, Kevin was absolutely hilarious.
01:01But yeah, he wasn't Todd.
01:03Like Todd exudes like real guy literally at the end of the bar that you'd be throwing stuff by him.
01:10And he definitely talks like someone sitting at the end of the bar as well.
01:14Yeah.
01:14The no filter part of it, which we'll see.
01:18When Todd Munkin unfiltered is priceless.
01:20And when he got hired, you know, I wondered because he's never been the head coach of an NFL team.
01:27He's had all these other roles.
01:28He's obviously ascended.
01:30He's someone who, let's be honest, should have probably got a head coaching job by now in the NFL.
01:35He's well heralded around the league.
01:36This isn't a Freddy Kitchens thing.
01:38Like this, sorry to say that about Freddy, but Freddy wasn't getting any other jobs.
01:43He still would have had to work his way up.
01:47Todd, the way people talk about him around the league is somebody who, I'm a little surprised.
01:53I've thrown it out there before.
01:55Is it because he is so truthful?
01:58Like the league doesn't love that.
02:00I mean, Rex Ryan was somebody who got to be like that.
02:04I said this shortly after he got hired.
02:07One of Todd Munkin's best qualities is that he is brutally honest.
02:12It is also one of his worst qualities because in the National Football League, especially in front of cameras and
02:18microphones, you know, coaches are not brutally honest.
02:22I mean, Andrew Barry, with all the respect, he's not brutally honest when we talk to him.
02:26He keeps things close to the vest, as he should, as he has to, as the GM.
02:30Like you can't come out and say, yeah, we're definitely trading Miles Garrett.
02:33You can't do that.
02:34You'll lose all your leverage.
02:36Like, you know what I'm saying?
02:36Like, oh, we've already traded the number two pick and the Jaguars are taking Travis Hunter with it.
02:41Like, you can't.
02:42So there has to be a certain level of public deception out there to maintain your competitive advantage.
02:51Now, there are folks in the league that have taken it to the extreme degree.
02:56See Bill Belichick.
02:57See Eric Mangini.
02:58Okay?
02:59And a lot of the guys that fell off the Belichick tree that have all tried to be Bill 2
03:05.0.
03:05But, yeah, there is a certain level of deception that you have to present front-facing to the public.
03:11That's part of the job.
03:13I mean, I make fun of it, but that doesn't mean I don't respect it or don't understand it.
03:19Because I do.
03:21It's essential.
03:22Well, I thought you could tell him talking about Miles Garrett.
03:26His body language.
03:28It's just always adding up to me to be that a trade was coming.
03:31Well, the last time Todd was asked about Miles, he had the body language and the expression of, like,
03:41why would I have talked to him at this point in person?
03:44Right?
03:45I mean, think about it.
03:47Not on the golf course.
03:49Not, like, not hours before the thing broke that Miles had been traded, even though the rumors were swirling.
03:55But I'm talking about the previous media availability where, like, he was almost annoyed.
04:00Like, why would you ask me such a stupid question?
04:02Of course I've not met face-to-face with Miles Garrett.
04:06I just thought you could.
04:07It wasn't a big reach.
04:09Even though every day we were being told by fans of the show, we love you guys.
04:13But every day it was a reach that we were talking about Miles getting traded.
04:15I'm like, he's getting traded.
04:17How are you guys not seeing this?
04:19I get it.
04:19You're emotional.
04:20You're a fan base.
04:21But I've been through this stuff before.
04:22I've seen how this works.
04:23I've seen how everybody, I do the math on this thing.
04:26Do you not know who represents Miles Garrett?
04:28And the day the contract got restructured, I mean, all of it.
04:31All of it.
04:32It all added up.
04:33And so I was confused.
04:34The guy who sits in your seat just, he admitted it afterwards.
04:37He just didn't want to.
04:38He was in denial up until the moment.
04:40He was in denial.
04:41Meanwhile, no denial from Jonathan Peterlin afternoon show yesterday, who he was talking about.
04:47When he brought up that he didn't necessarily think it was smart.
04:52The thought that people like me had put out there that maybe it would make sense for Shador Sanders to
04:58come off the bench to start the year.
05:00Here's JP in the afternoon.
05:02I don't love the narrative that if Shador doesn't win the job, somehow that's best for him.
05:08I just fundamentally disagree with the idea that not getting an opportunity and waiting for week 8 or 9 or
05:1410 is what's best in anyone's interest when they're trying to be an NFL starter.
05:18I'm just going to call it stupid.
05:20To think that it somehow benefits a player to sit on the bench and watch somebody else be given an
05:24opportunity because of the development that'll attach to it or the offensive line development or the wide receivers.
05:30All this other hogwash that can be attached to this.
05:32It's somehow going to be better to watch Deshaun Watson start week 1.
05:35I just can't get behind it.
05:36I am usually pro like give quarterbacks a little bit time to develop if it's in the right situation.
05:41Like I think when you have like Jordan Love backing up Aaron Rodgers, you can learn a lot watching Aaron
05:45Rodgers play quarterback and how he handles him.
05:47Maybe not off the field, handles himself, but on the field.
05:49He's obviously a great player.
05:51Sitting and learning behind Deshaun Watson, who has played 19 games in four years, has constantly been injured.
05:55I mean, has not operated the offense to the effect that it was supposed to be operated with Kevin Stefanski.
06:00What are you learning?
06:02So that was yesterday afternoon show and Daryl, I mean, I obviously disagree because I've said for the last two
06:10weeks that I didn't think it was the worst thing in the world if he doesn't win this starting job.
06:15I don't think it's a failure.
06:17I don't think it's the worst thing in the world either, but I understand where Jonathan's coming from.
06:23And I have been very clear that I would much rather give Shador Sanders the opportunity in week one to
06:31start because I think there's more to be gained from it than starting Deshaun Watson.
06:35I mean, I don't know that either one of these guys elevates your team.
06:39I don't know that either one of these guys gives you a better chance to win.
06:43I don't know that either one of these guys gives you a better chance to score.
06:47Or what I do know, watching Shador last year in the fourth quarter, and I realize that he only won
06:53three of his starts, but guess what?
06:55That is three more starts than a lot of his predecessors won that season.
07:02And then also, too, they were in a lot of games.
07:06When he was on the field late in games in the final three, four minutes of a game last season,
07:12I legit thought the Browns had a chance to win.
07:17Is that because they had Miles Garrett on the team?
07:19No.
07:20Because that's why I thought they had a chance to win.
07:21No.
07:22It wasn't because of the quarterback.
07:23No, case in point, look at the Ravens game.
07:26I mean, he came within a PBU of forcing overtime in that game.
07:32Walked them right down the field.
07:34They had a shot.
07:35And that's all you can ask for is a chance.
07:37Now, hopefully, next time Shador is in that situation, it goes better, and he completes the pass, and you get
07:45the touchdown.
07:46But when he's on the field, I just have a stronger belief that they at least have a chance.
07:53Now, there's also the hold your breath.
07:55Are you saying compared to Dylan or everybody that was here last year?
08:00Anyone in that room right now.
08:02I have no confidence that Deshaun Watson is going to be able to return to a shadow of what he
08:09was.
08:10And I know a lot of folks want to take that as me just throwing shade at Deshaun or hating
08:16on Deshaun.
08:16No.
08:16I'm just being realistic about the situation.
08:18The guy hasn't played tangible, meaningful football since the 2020 season.
08:24Okay?
08:25Took 2021 off voluntarily.
08:27Was suspended for 11 games in 2022.
08:30Broke his shoulder.
08:32I mean, ruptured his Achilles.
08:35Not once, but twice.
08:37It's been six years.
08:39He's played 19 games in six years.
08:41I just, I don't think it's fair or realistic to expect that Deshaun is going to be able to return
08:48to that.
08:48And that's why I can't be super hypercritical of him in practice either.
08:52Like, he's got a lot of rust to knock off.
08:54And oh, by the way, every time Deshaun has come back from meaningful time off, whether it was from the
09:00suspension, right?
09:00We were making excuses starting with that Washington game.
09:02Well, you know, he hasn't played in a year and a half, and he's got to shake off the rust
09:07and get his game.
09:08The very first game that he had with the Browns was awful.
09:10He's got to get his timing back, whatever, right?
09:12Coming off the shoulder injury, same thing.
09:14Same excuses.
09:17Same justification for the poor performances.
09:20I have no, like, he looks great when there's no defense in seven on seven.
09:24Okay?
09:25When it's just receivers v. cornerbacks.
09:27Deshaun looks really good.
09:28That's when he looks at his best.
09:29You put a defensive line on the field.
09:32Well, he's killing worms.
09:33He's missing receivers by five yards.
09:35Like, it's not pretty.
09:36Well, so he didn't factor into this discussion at all when I said it might benefit Shador to come off
09:42the bench.
09:42And here's all I'm doing.
09:44I'm just, in my mind, I'm already going to exactly what the Shador fans are going to say.
09:48If he starts the season in struggles, what are their fans going to say?
09:53They're all the things that you could totally see happening beforehand, which is, well, a new offensive line.
10:00I mean, they threw five guys together and just had made it work.
10:04Todd Munkin's first games as a head coach.
10:06He had never done this before.
10:08You know, offensive coordinator, quarterback coach.
10:10This is all new to them.
10:12Like, go by one by one.
10:13Look at all the young skill position players.
10:16They weren't supposed to win right away.
10:18If he starts out one and four.
10:20The excuses are built in.
10:20One and five.
10:21There's all the excuses.
10:23Well, this is what I'm trying to avoid.
10:24Not hearing from the Shador fans.
10:26What I'm trying to avoid is him starting out one and five, losing the job.
10:31And then what does that mean for his career?
10:33Who else is going to give him a shot?
10:34What other teams are going to be salivating to add him after he was statistically one of
10:39the worst rookies in modern NFL history quarterback last year?
10:42He was a fifth-round pick that got passed over how many times by the decision-makers in
10:47the league.
10:48What do you think they're going to do this time?
10:49Yeah, I don't know if the Browns want to kill his trade value.
10:51I'll just say that, number one.
10:53Number two, the easy path is start to Deshaun and then move to Shador in season rather than
10:59start to Shador and then move back to Deshaun.
11:05So the easy path right now is Deshaun starts week one.
11:08That's the easiest route for the Browns to take.
11:11And quite frankly, I think that's the one that they are going to take.
11:13Todd Munkin, obviously a position group he's very familiar with, talking about his handling
11:18of the wide receivers, and obviously aside from the quarterback situation and Jared
11:25Verse once training camp starts, wide receivers are going to be right there.
11:29Fans are going to want to see those guys because the highlights so far, especially out of Denzel
11:34Boston in camp.
11:35Now, I'm not somebody that makes a big deal out of anything in OTAs, but...
11:41Oh, stop.
11:42Oh, no.
11:43I don't...
11:43I mean, you haven't seen me tweet one clip from OTAs yet.
11:47Zero.
11:48I've been watching the NBA Finals and paying attention to that.
11:52However, however, the Boston stuff...
11:54Yes, because your X account is the only platform you have.
11:59You've heard me overreact to OTAs?
12:01I'm just kidding.
12:01Have you?
12:02I'm just kidding.
12:03Owen, have I?
12:04I don't even think you knew they were going to OTAs.
12:06I did not.
12:07I did not.
12:07No, I had to ask.
12:08Is this minicamp?
12:09Is this OTAs?
12:09But I told you, I've explained before, like, I get it that, like, the fans of Shador, this
12:15is everything.
12:16This is their Super Bowl.
12:16Oh, yeah.
12:17This has to be.
12:18Because if he doesn't get through this, like, that could be it for his career.
12:22I don't know how many teams are lining up.
12:24Actually, no, because then, well, that's just Cleveland, and they don't know how to deal with
12:28quarterbacks.
12:29He'll get at least one more chance.
12:31Will he?
12:31If it doesn't work out here, and by work out, I mean, let's say at some point down
12:39the road, he gets cut, okay, then I think he'll get another chance because it'll be the
12:45Cleveland thing.
12:46Yeah, but what will be the chance?
12:48Well, he'll be a starter.
12:49No, but he'll get an option.
12:50That's what I mean.
12:51Someone will pick him up and give him a look.
12:53Yeah.
12:53100%.
12:54I mean, he's not going to be one and done here.
12:56Yeah, I mean, there's 150 quarterbacks that get a look every year.
12:59If you add up with the injuries and the camp arms and everything.
13:02Look at how long Colt McCoy lasted in the NFL.
13:05Yeah, but could you see Shador being that?
13:06Is he going to be?
13:07No.
13:07Is he going to be?
13:08No.
13:09You see what I mean?
13:10Like, this is pretty big for him, how this goes down here.
13:13So I get it.
13:13For his fans, this is life or death.
13:15This is the national championship.
13:16This is the Super Bowl.
13:17Just understand when you get Shador, he comes with a film crew.
13:22Is that still happening, by the way?
13:23Yes.
13:25Really?
13:26Yes.
13:26What about Deshaun Watson's film crew?
13:29There's a guy for him, too.
13:30So I had joked a few years ago about dueling film crews, but that's really happening right now.
13:35Yes, we have dueling film crews right now to tell everyone how great these guys are.
13:39All right, so I don't think Tom Brady ever had a film crew.
13:42I don't think Patrick Mahomes has a film crew.
13:44I don't think Josh Allen has a film crew.
13:46I don't think Joe Burrow has a film crew.
13:48And I don't know what Shador Sanders and Deshaun Watson have accomplished here.
13:52Deserve film crews, but they've got film crews.
13:54That's unfair.
13:55No, it's not.
13:56Wait a second, Daryl.
13:58No, it's not.
13:58It's completely fair.
14:00Don't you think with their fan bases?
14:03Yeah, I don't care about their fan bases right now.
14:05I care about whether or not you can play quarterback.
14:07Oh, no.
14:08Daryl, I've got to stop you here.
14:09Hold on.
14:10We live in a world, a society, where there is a desperate need for content.
14:16Second by second, and they're giving it.
14:19I'm sorry, did you just say there's a desperate need for content?
14:21Yes.
14:21I would argue there's too much content.
14:24Not to their fans.
14:25They're watching all the reality shows.
14:28They're staying locked in to everything that is Sanders-related, whether it's Coach Prime,
14:35what's happening in Boulder, which I just think it's emblematic of not being focused on what
14:40you should be focusing on.
14:42Well, the camera crews are focused on their guy.
14:46They have to be, and their white balance.
14:47Yeah, there's a rack focus.
14:49I could tell you, you should know all these things.
14:52You're a photographer.
14:54I've paid Daryl Ryder to come to an event, a birthday party of mine.
14:59And the pictures came out spectacularly.
15:01They're amazing.
15:02Now I have AI, so I don't need you anymore.
15:04But Daryl, this is incredible that you wouldn't understand that this is a new rung of society.
15:11It's a new generation.
15:12You know what?
15:13This is what they want.
15:14Listen, I'm still looking for Jared vs. film crew.
15:18They have not.
15:19What, did Miles have one?
15:20No.
15:21Okay.
15:21Well, he had his dad.
15:22And he has his own camera.
15:23Yeah.
15:24When he would show up to events.
15:25Do you think Todd Munkin, Todd Munkin's got to be cool with the film crews?
15:28Todd Munkin does not.
15:29I can confirm Todd Munkin does not have a film crew.
15:32Andrew Barry does not have a film crew.
15:34But your two quarterbacks competing for a job, they have film crews.
15:38Did they ever run into each other trying to film at the same time?
15:41I could see how that would be an issue that you'd have to watch out for.
15:45216-474-0092.
15:49Let's go to the phones.
15:51Paul in Canton waiting patiently.
15:53Hello, Paul.
15:54Welcome to the show.
15:55Good morning, guys.
15:56How are you guys doing?
15:57What's going on?
15:57Well, I think it would be bad for the door and the Browns for him to start later on in
16:05the season.
16:06This is why.
16:07Because we're trying to find out about getting and trading, I mean, getting another quarterback
16:13next year.
16:13So, you need somebody.
16:15A young quarterback is going to have failures.
16:18You have Hall of Fame quarterbacks with rookie seasons, whether it's Torrey Aikman or whoever.
16:24Steve Young, who had bad times, bad moments.
16:27If you're starting him later on in the year, then you're taking time away.
16:32And once again, you have to hit the ground running.
16:33Remind you, this is a guy who won three out of seven games.
16:37That's where the last place offensive line, last place wide receivers, bottom running
16:43game, no first team reference.
16:45Who ranked him dead last?
16:46Who ranked him dead last the offensive line?
16:48I just want to make sure that we can verify that.
16:50I hear a lot of fans say that.
16:52Who actually ranked him dead last?
16:54Well, I mean...
16:55PFF said their passing grades were actually pretty good the last five weeks.
16:58So, you said the offensive line was playing real good at the...
17:01No, not real good, but they said their passing...
17:03They gave them pass-blocking grades that were above average the last five weeks.
17:06They said Shador caused most of those sacks.
17:10I'll just say what they said.
17:11That's not me.
17:11The receivers aren't getting open?
17:12The receivers are terrible.
17:14Yeah, they had the worst wide receiver room in the NFL last year.
17:17So, if you combine that with Stefanski doing weird stuff at the end of a couple of games,
17:22then, I mean, I'm just saying, I'm down to get a quarterback next year, without a doubt.
17:28But, I think it's bad for the Browns and Shador to have...
17:33I mean, you're going to rush him back for Deshaun Watson?
17:35If Deshaun Watson plays a little bit better, what does that mean?
17:37You're going to let him rob you for another quarter billion dollars?
17:39Well, that's a fair question.
17:41We're going to ask Andrew Barry that later today.
17:43Because I know there are not many in this fan base that would be ready, even if he played well.
17:48Even if, let's say, miracles happen and he was the 15th best quarterback in the NFL.
17:53Then you've got to sign him?
17:55Right, exactly. There's absolutely no positive.
17:59I mean, this is a guy who hasn't played well in about four seasons, hasn't played in about two seasons,
18:06has three ligament tears.
18:08I mean, what are we doing here?
18:10He already robbed you for almost a quarter billion dollars.
18:14This is, I mean, it makes absolutely no sense.
18:16There's almost no positive whatsoever to start Deshaun Watson.
18:19Well, there is one big...
18:21I pick a call. Thank you for the call.
18:22There's one big negative that the Browns, I think, are thinking about.
18:26And that is the fear of investing $230 million in Deshaun Watson.
18:31And you don't give him an opportunity to show what he can do or can't do this year.
18:37And he goes elsewhere next year and he looks like Deshaun Watson again.
18:41I'm not saying that's going to happen, but I do think that that is part of the picture, right?
18:45You'll look really, really foolish if you don't find out if he has anything in the tank.
18:52Man, I just...
18:53Listen, I was the guy front and center.
18:55You will be front and center next year.
18:58I'm not saying this is going to happen.
18:59I'll be very clear.
19:00This is a big-time hypothetical.
19:02But if Deshaun Watson went elsewhere next year and he was successful,
19:06you would be first in line to absolutely kill Andrew Berry and the Cleveland Browns.
19:10Me?
19:10Yes.
19:12Balderdash.
19:13Colton and Cuyahoga Falls, go ahead.
19:16Yeah, Lyman, what you said about there's a desperation for content,
19:20you couldn't be more wrong than you are right now.
19:23You're saying there's a desperation for content for Shador fans and Deshaun fans.
19:26You opened Twitter.
19:27I can't fool 30 seconds without seeing something about those two on Twitter or Facebook or TikTok.
19:32Where do you get your reasoning that there's a desperation for content, quote-unquote?
19:38Wait, you don't think the Shador fans are consuming every last morsel,
19:42every last frame of video?
19:44He was doing TikToks yesterday, just making his way into Berea.
19:51The kids love that stuff.
19:52Maybe it's not for me, but Colton, I thought...
19:55They consume it, yes.
19:56They consume it, yes.
19:57But there's not a desperation need for content.
19:59There is a desperation need for content.
20:00Everybody would be like, well, where's Shador at?
20:02Where's Shador at?
20:02We haven't seen from him in months or weeks.
20:05He's posting stuff every day.
20:06That's not a desperation for content.
20:07The only desperation for content I have when it comes to these quarterbacks is can you
20:11complete passes and win games?
20:13Exactly, Daryl.
20:15Thank you, Daryl.
20:15What does off-field media coverage have to do with the on-field playing of the actual game?
20:21I thought Colton...
20:22Maybe...
20:22And look, I'm too old for this.
20:24I thought Colton's here to set you straight.
20:25Listen, thank you, Colton.
20:26But I thought the younger generation, this is what made these fans different from, say,
20:32our parents and our generation is that they love the social media and they live and breathe
20:37it and they follow all of it.
20:38And it's like a soap opera to them.
20:40It's maybe not for me and Daryl, but Colton, I thought, you know, maybe for your kids.
20:44I thought they were interested in all this stuff.
20:46Not for my generation.
20:47I'm right around Shador's age, so I'm right in that same generation where his fans would
20:51be.
20:51Now, these kids nowadays, they don't know what football is if they slap them in the face.
20:55All they care about is like, oh, this guy has a shiny watch.
20:58He's cool.
21:00All right.
21:00Thank you, Colton.
21:01Wow.
21:02I'm not very often that someone agrees with me.
21:08Yeah.
21:08No, Daryl, listen, I thought I thought everybody in town loved the film crews and loved all
21:14the 24-7 coverage of these quarterbacks.
21:17Chuck, do you?
21:18Chuck in Cleveland.
21:20Been waiting patiently.
21:20We appreciate him.
21:21Always a big part of the show.
21:23Chuck, do you love all the content coming out from those quarterbacks?
21:29Listen, bro.
21:30Y'all, the content shouldn't even be a topic of discussion.
21:33You know what I'm saying?
21:34I don't understand what's wrong with it.
21:36It's like, I don't know if there's a little jealousy in there.
21:39I mean, yeah.
21:40Daryl, are you jealous?
21:41No, it has to.
21:42No.
21:43Daryl, that also got NFL access.
21:46Access.
21:46You know what I'm saying?
21:47That's a major accomplishment for any black man in America.
21:50And they're positive, good kids, bro.
21:52Daryl?
21:52Ain't done one to nobody.
21:53You know what I mean?
21:54Shigurton came to Cleveland, worked his butt off, been through probably more than any quarterback,
21:59I mean, that we ever had.
22:00And Lima, I really just call because when you attach the fifth-round pick and say he was
22:04worse statistically than any quarterback, why don't you also talk about the receivers in
22:11the same breath and the line?
22:13We all know that they were.
22:14Don't people know?
22:15Do I have to say it every time?
22:16Like, say, all right, he threw the most interceptable, worthy passes last year.
22:21He threw the least catchable balls statistically.
22:24Now, this is PFF that threw that stuff out there.
22:26But I also then have to go in and talk about every group in the same sentence.
22:30I think people know.
22:31I challenge you to say that just as much as you say he was the worst quarterback.
22:35You know what I mean?
22:36Your framework is very slippery.
22:38You know what I'm saying?
22:39But I say this, the fact that he came in here, operated under chaos, Kevin's offense,
22:46he stole two games from that kid.
22:48He was supposed to go 5-2, okay?
22:505-2?
22:51That's it.
22:52I mean, Mitch Trubisky also won 12 games one year, so why not?
22:56Kevin did an in-and-round with all rookies, okay?
23:00We were supposed to win that game.
23:01He outplayed.
23:02Shadour outplayed the number one pick.
23:05How much credit have you given Miles Garrett for any of this?
23:07Was he an innocent bystander?
23:08Was he on the field for this?
23:10Miles Garrett had 40 sacks in two years, and we won eight games in two years.
23:14You think that the Aaron Rodgers game where he – the Pittsburgh game where Aaron Rodgers
23:20refused to play normal football for an entire 60 minutes because Miles Garrett was there,
23:25you were giving that game to somebody else not named Miles Garrett?
23:29I'll give that to Aaron Rodgers.
23:32You know what I'm saying?
23:33He threw the game.
23:34But look, let me say this.
23:35I will say this.
23:36Guys, Kevin Stefanski was the whole – that's why he's gone, guys.
23:41Come on, man.
23:42Y'all see what's going on.
23:43Get off this kid's back, man.
23:45You know, what else does he have to do?
23:46I know, boy.
23:47You know, having Shadour come in for a one-on-one at 7 a.m. every day to teach the
23:51kid to play,
23:51but boy, Kevin Stefanski really stuck at the Shadour.
23:54You're right.
23:55100%.
23:55It's like he stole y'all girls, man, and all he do is go out there and smile, man.
23:59Support the kid.
24:00Do you think, Chuck, it's not our job to support him?
24:02It's your job to support him, not ours.
24:04Chuck, do you think – do you think the Falcons would rather have Kevin Stefanski or Shadour Sanders?
24:10I think the Falcons actually is the worst landing spot for Kevin Stefanski because Deion built that.
24:17Remember, this is my house.
24:18Dirty birds.
24:19That wasn't a question.
24:20That was 30 years ago.
24:22I'm just doing the same thing Lima does.
24:24Deion Sanders is 30 years ago.
24:26I appreciate that.
24:27Chuck, I appreciate it.
24:29I do.
24:30I do.
24:31Hey, it's all love.
24:32It's all love, man.
24:33I saw this.
24:33Come on.
24:33Get a kid a break, man.
24:35B. John, thank you for the call, Chuck.
24:37He's setting everybody straight.
24:38He's getting his break right now.
24:39He's getting first-team reps in practice on a daily basis.
24:42That's his break.
24:43Last year, he was throwing to the ball, boys.
24:46This year, he's getting first-team reps.
24:48He's, by the way, not just getting first-team reps.
24:50He's getting practices where he's the first guy getting the first-team reps in 11-on-11.
24:55That's his break, okay?
24:56And it's about what Shadour is doing with that break.
24:59It doesn't matter what I think or say or whatever.
25:03He's getting a chance.
25:04Todd Munkin is giving Shadour Sanders a chance.
25:06And if Shadour Sanders doesn't win this quarterback job, it's going to be because of Shadour Sanders, not because of
25:11me, not because of Anthony DeLima, not because of Owen.
25:15It's going to be because of Shadour.
25:17I think Shadour has been living up.
25:20So stop blaming all of us.
25:21It was an insane setup, the four-quarterback thing.
25:24If I have to do a disclaimer every time, I'll do it.
25:26All right, Chuck said I should bring up the offensive line.
25:29The four-quarterback setup was a disaster from the moment that it was conceived.
25:34Well, the guy that didn't even take reps the first day of training camp turned around was the starting quarterback
25:38in week one.
25:39I know.
25:40How insane was that?
25:42When they called it a four-man competition, but yet it was really a competition for the starter and the
25:47backup.
25:47Yeah, it was insane.
25:48It was ludicrous.
25:49And that didn't do Shadour any favors, didn't do Dylan Gabriel any favors, it didn't do the team any favors.
25:55Didn't do Kenny Pickett any favors, didn't do Joe Flacco any favors.
25:57Which I was fine.
25:58I didn't need any favors done for Kenny Pickett.
26:00But either way, it sucked for all involved.
26:02I gave Shadour a ton of credit for not being this circus off the field.
26:07100%.
26:07Look, I might have said something about it too with the film crews and everything.
26:11He was fine.
26:12He's perfect.
26:13I find him to be really, really likable.
26:16It's his fans sometimes I have a problem with, but he has been...
26:18Here's the thing.
26:19He's been awesome.
26:20I think Shadour is grossly misunderstood.
26:22And I do think that there is some poking at the bear with him a little bit because of who
26:28his dad is.
26:29And because he has the big personality and the big following and his fans sometimes are a little unhinged.
26:36But he's a good kid.
26:39But you know what?
26:40He's a great kid.
26:41Listen, I know a lot of great kids that aren't exactly great at playing in the NFL.
26:45And Shadour is getting an opportunity to show whether or not he can do that this year.
26:49He's getting a fair opportunity this year.
26:52And that's what I have to push back on.
26:54He might not have gotten one last year.
26:56He's getting it this year.
26:57So it's on him and only him to make the most of it.
27:00A lot of guys taken in the draft.
27:02I'm not allowed to use the round anymore.
27:04But a lot of guys taken in the draft where he was taken never get an opportunity.
27:08He had seven starts last year.
27:10Oh, we took the thing off the board over here?
27:11I don't know anything about that.
27:12I came in one day and that board was gone.
27:15What, about the Pro Bowl?
27:16Yeah.
27:16But he made the Pro Bowl last year.
27:18Come on.
27:18He's selling jerseys.
27:20He's making money.
27:21This is a blessed life.
27:23Wait a minute.
27:24It wasn't jerseys.
27:25It was the cards, wasn't it?
27:26That made him his money?
27:27I refuse to call him a victim.
27:31To me, this is a great facet of American life.
27:35He's got a great opportunity that a lot of folks don't get.
27:39Yeah.
27:40And hopefully he's able to make the most of it.
27:41And hopefully he's able to make the most of it.
27:43All right.
27:44Are they going to make the most of the World Cup?
27:46Because we haven't mentioned the World Cup at all.
27:49And John, producer John, in about last night, had this big thing.
27:53He wanted to talk about the World Cup.
27:54I said Ken would never allow it, but Ken's gone, so I'll allow it.
