00:00Let's see, Quinshawn Judkins mentioned, Miles Garrett mentioned, Swessinger mentioned, Shador mentioned, not you, Deshaun Watson, and that has garnered
00:10many takes from Browns fans, hoping, I would say, less than, and maybe believing that that is a sign that
00:18maybe this is all rigged for Shador and the Shador, Deshaun, this whole thing is just, I guess, a public
00:26display of something.
00:28This would be a weird thing, right, to have a, we're going to try to convince everyone that Deshaun Watson's
00:33the guy, but then this is the part where they let everybody in on, no, Shador's the quarterback?
00:38It does seem a little odd, is it not?
00:40It would be a weird way to tip your hand.
00:42It'd be a weird way to tip the hand, and I tend to feel like this was just a lot
00:45of social media and a lot of these, whoever's in charge in the social media.
00:48Now, I guess I'd ask you, do you think Jimmy Haslam had approval of this before they sent it out?
00:54No.
00:54No, I don't think he did.
00:55I don't think so.
00:56Now, maybe J-Dub.
00:57I bet you J-Dub gets his eyes on this one beforehand.
00:59All right, well, J-Dub is a big part of this whole entire enterprise and the whole everything.
01:03But that doesn't mean that they're, you know, it's not, this isn't, this isn't Euphoria.
01:07We're trying to figure out who's the narc or whatever the whole damn story's about.
01:11Every other video I see.
01:13Who's the narc?
01:13Yeah, well, there's like, so one time you and I talked about Euphoria or somebody and I talked about Euphoria.
01:18Yeah, I talked about Euphoria.
01:19Half of my reels are about Euphoria now.
01:21Yeah, I like it.
01:21I like the show.
01:22Because I clicked in on accident one day with my big fat paw and now it's, you know, hey, did
01:28you miss this hidden detail?
01:30It's that scene with Mac and it's always sunny in Philadelphia.
01:32So they go for gasps.
01:33Yes, exactly.
01:34They go for gasps.
01:35And so like, I just would be surprised if, like guys, I think they just tried to make a really
01:40cool video.
01:40That's really the end read of that, right?
01:42And so I just, like, and here's the thing.
01:46When people go to this length, because this isn't the first time somebody's tried to use something that happened in
01:52a video to say, oh, this is what's going to happen.
01:55I get it.
01:57We all have very strong feelings over which way we want this thing to go.
02:01So I'm sure that there were a couple people who want Deshaun to win that were furious about this.
02:06Well, imagine if you're even Deshaun yourself, right?
02:08You're probably a little peeved you're not in this video.
02:10Maybe you just don't want any attention at all.
02:12He's in Abu Dhabi visiting.
02:14Not even paying attention to this stuff.
02:15He's probably got the whole getup on.
02:17He's probably just enjoying himself.
02:19I mean, listen, do I think the Browns even know who their week one quarterback is?
02:23I think they have no clue right now.
02:24I think they're still waiting to kind of see what everything looks like in practices, waiting to see how this
02:29all shapes out.
02:29I don't think as of right now they know who their quarterback is going to be.
02:33And so I don't think they would be intentional within a video if I don't believe that they know who
02:36their week one starter is right now.
02:37The only thing I'm surprised about is knowing how finicky, not finicky, how explosive the topic is of Shador versus
02:46Deshaun.
02:48There's a huge amount of people that just don't want Shador, who think Shador is, I guess, a Nepo baby,
02:53which is weird because it's the NFL.
02:55If he didn't have the talent, he wouldn't be in the league.
02:58Nepotism rarely works in sports.
03:00And even like the LeBron, Bronny stuff, I just don't buy into because Bronny's kind of shown he was worth
03:04being the 63rd pick or whatever.
03:06Also, Deion's not involved in the decision making.
03:08Yeah, I don't get that.
03:09If you want to call him a Nepo baby because of how he got the jobs in college, okay.
03:15And then the NFL said, in spite of anything else, you're worthy of being here.
03:19But the point is, there are people who think that Shador's a Nepo baby or he's this or he's a
03:24social media star or whatever, and they don't want any part of him.
03:28There's also people, as we've talked about, that don't want a damn thing to do with Deshaun Watson as well.
03:32The Browns know this.
03:34I think the Browns do understand, at a fundamental level, what an absolute touchy subject this is.
03:40So if I had a surprise in the whole thing, it's that either quarterback was mentioned.
03:44Also, put yourself into the social media person's brain for a second, right?
03:51And I'm operating with the idea that it's a social media team and they just came up with everything and
03:55that's just all they needed in order to run this through.
03:57Because it seems like that's all these videos are, right?
04:01Who do you think is going to get you the most attention throwing them in there?
04:03That's Shador.
04:05Shador.
04:05Like Shador, and who's going to get you the most detractors?
04:08And probably take you off of generic NFL websites post of, hey, top five fun videos I enjoyed.
04:16Probably Deshaun Watson.
04:17Like Deshaun has that just ick to him, okay?
04:21It's attached to him.
04:22Does he still, though?
04:23Yes, he does.
04:24Yes.
04:24For national people, yes, he does.
04:25Not as many for the local people, but for...
04:28There seems to be a lot of national people.
04:30Not the Albert Peers.
04:31The people that have the websites that would rank this type of thing, okay?
04:34The people that...
04:35They're not inside sources.
04:37Who are the people you're talking about?
04:39Yeah, exactly right.
04:41The people that spend their days ranking this type of thing...
04:44Look at you, Ben Axelrod with Awful Announcing.
04:46Not doing a...
04:47Starting a feud.
04:48He's not even at Awful Announcing anymore.
04:51Front office sports, thank you.
04:52There we go.
04:53Nailed it.
04:54So, the people that do these rankings, yes, there still is that factor of, like, yeah,
04:59you throw Deshaun in a video.
05:00I went from liking this video, I thought it was creative, I thought it was fun, to...
05:03Now I just think this video kind of sucks.
05:05Meanwhile, with Shador, you throw Shador in anything, and it's a ratings bonanza.
05:09It's instantly, everyone in Colorado is sharing it, everyone that loves Shador is sharing it.
05:13Like, just from a pure metric standpoint, it is the wisest decision you can make to throw Shador in something
05:19as often as possible,
05:20and to leave Deshaun as completely out of it as you can.
05:23All right, again, I'm trying not to put on the tin hat here.
05:26What if it's more likely that they just don't want to get crap from Shador fans, because Shador fans throw
05:31a fit,
05:31if Shador is in any way, could look like he's slammed by something.
05:37I don't think that's it.
05:37I think they just, you take the easiest route here.
05:40You just, you feed the Colorado fans, you feed the Shador fans, you give them what they want,
05:44you even have the line in there about Shador and the quarterback and everything like that,
05:47and then you watch the Shares happen.
05:49I just saw, in between the break, they did a final breakdown of the,
05:53by the numbers, who had the most views on their videos.
05:57We can both agree, objectively, I thought the video was horrendous.
06:00I thought it was a bad video.
06:01Horrendous is stretching it.
06:03Pretty bad.
06:04I didn't think, I thought it was fine.
06:06I thought it was okay.
06:07I thought it was non-offensive.
06:08I got what they were going for.
06:09I think it's really hard to be great now.
06:10I liked the actor.
06:11I don't know why.
06:12I thought the actor was pretty good in it.
06:13So you just hated the production?
06:15I also like Euphoria.
06:16I hated the concept, okay?
06:17So I take that for what it's worth.
06:19But anyway.
06:19Then did he also set his headlights on?
06:21I thought he was giving a bad script.
06:24Did he go Sidney Sweeney in there?
06:26And you were just like, this guy's got it.
06:27He just did the best he could with what he was giving.
06:29Okay, that was a tough role for him.
06:30But he did the best he could.
06:31If you had seen what they left in the cutting room floor,
06:33you really would have seen his genius.
06:35I don't know why I'm defending this guy, but I did think.
06:36I was like, the acting's not miserable, but the rest of it is just crap.
06:40But anyway, they were top five.
06:42They had number five, most watched video.
06:44And it's like, well, all right, why?
06:45The video was fine.
06:47If we're calling it fine at best, I called it horrendous.
06:49You called it fine.
06:50It shouldn't be fifth best.
06:52But why was it fifth best?
06:53It's because Shador was in it.
06:54That's why.
06:55It got shared all across the Colorado and the Shador fans.
06:58And that's a good thing.
06:59As a social media person, that's what you're shooting for.
07:03It's interesting.
07:04So to what you're speaking to, I have noticed a slowdown in Shador content,
07:12like this offseason, and a slowdown in terms of media members.
07:16That doesn't mean social media, but media members being willing to have a
07:20conversation about Shador Sanders in spite of the fact that all of last year
07:25you could just put Shador Sanders in a headline and it would go viral.
07:29I don't know if that's, again, fear of the Shador hive, the Shahive as it were.
07:34I don't know if it's just maybe it has slowed some of the general interest
07:38because he maybe didn't play the best last year.
07:41I don't know.
07:42But I do think it's interesting that I think you're right about the social team,
07:45that that is a plausible explanation.
07:48And I don't feel like from a media perspective, I'm seeing more people having
07:52takes on Shador or writing pieces on Shador.
07:55I mean, I just look at it like in our job, what do we get paid off of
07:57and how do we keep our jobs?
07:58You have to have ratings, right?
07:59That's the idea.
08:00And so when we have-
08:01Oh, I thought it was I just did things.
08:03No, you have to have ratings that go with it.
08:04And so like if you're a social media person, you have to have views.
08:08You have to get clicks.
08:08You have to draw eyeballs in.
08:10That's the whole part of the game.
08:11What does that at Shador?
08:12You didn't have to do things to get this job?
08:14You know, things in a closet somewhere, you know?
08:16You had to do things in a closet?
08:18Yeah.
08:18I guess I got lucky.
08:19I was told I had to keep the bosses happy.
08:21I guess I missed that memo.
