03:36This is Beyond the Tape, and I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
03:39To all our viewers, wherever you may be, how was your day-to-day?
03:44I hope it was a great one.
03:45I hope that you are safe, and I hope whatever you choose to do today was better than yesterday.
03:50But as we get closer to closing off yet another work week, we have a gentleman who's filling in for
03:55ASP Russell,
03:56and he's always willing to join us, and he has the biggest heart in the world.
04:00One of the biggest hearts, I should say, because he's a gentleman who's always willing to give back,
04:05especially to our young people, and all of us know him as Corporal Derek Shabity.
04:09Good evening to you, sir.
04:10You look dashing as ever.
04:12Oh, thank you.
04:12When you're young men, and I train to complement our women, we are only men.
04:18Okay.
04:19And you must train our boys to complement our women.
04:23And the women in return...
04:24Must say thank you.
04:26That's right.
04:26And that is where...
04:27That's skin off your face.
04:28Thank you very much.
04:29Yeah, you mustn't do that.
04:31It's all part of training, and our boys need to learn.
04:34And our young ladies need to learn as well to respond.
04:38That's right.
04:38And it's not to make you feel uncomfortable in any type of way.
04:42You're not saying, family, hey, McGill.
04:45Friend.
04:45Yeah.
04:46Friend.
04:47Now, respect, family.
04:48Yes, yeah, no.
04:49Hold on, hold on.
04:50Cousin, aunt, what is really going on with you?
04:51Yes, yes.
04:52Yeah, that is not making sense.
04:54So when we're receiving it, we must also show respect.
04:57I agree.
04:58Nothing attached, just a form of respect.
05:00Respect, yes.
05:00And complement each other.
05:01I think we'll do well understanding the role of a male and the role of the lady as well.
05:06And just being a human being too, because it's important.
05:08Just as we open, we say good evening.
05:10So when you enter a room.
05:11Yes.
05:12And you meet people there.
05:13The first thing you're supposed to say is.
05:14That's good afternoon.
05:15That's good morning.
05:17If they don't answer, they don't answer.
05:18And I started it with blessing too.
05:20Once you send blessings out, blessings will come back.
05:23So that means your day was great, because I was not going to ask you, what was your day?
05:26Well, I'm blessed and I do favor it now.
05:27Looking great.
05:29Looking dashing.
05:30Thank you very much for the compliment.
05:32Yes, yes.
05:33Always.
05:34So your day was great?
05:35Well, I have no complaints.
05:37I had an absolutely beautiful, we went and visited the ambassador, the Chinese ambassador.
05:42Absolutely excellent meeting.
05:43You know, they are very circumspect.
05:45Yes.
05:45You learn any Chinese?
05:48No.
05:50So, I discussed the food, I discussed that they have taken over Trina with all the different.
05:55And we had an absolutely beautiful evening.
05:57You're all right.
05:58I tried to remind me of how to say hello, but I will do that for next week.
06:02I will try.
06:03I think I remembered a little bit, but I'm not going to try that to embarrass myself yet.
06:08Yes.
06:08So let's just leave it.
06:09That's hello.
06:09Yeah, please.
06:10Yes.
06:10And also, well, you know, all Muslim brothers and sisters do good work.
06:14I didn't need a hamper for one of our female members of the club.
06:19And I want to send my gratitude.
06:21I'm thanks to Brother Mohammed.
06:22You know, one phone call, you see Mr. Shawadik pass through the hamper.
06:25Yes.
06:26You know, people come, they know, they cry out for help.
06:28And it's good when other people are phone call away that they can provide some basic meals.
06:34Yes, and help.
06:34Yes.
06:35So, it's the Muslim community.
06:38Blessings.
06:38And thank you very much, Brother Mohammed.
06:40And syssalty for the support.
06:42I'm really grateful.
06:43Always.
06:43Now, we're ready to dive in because we have a lot to discuss this evening.
06:47And we're back in yet another home invasion.
06:49And it didn't end well at all because the TGPS continues to try their best when it comes to the
06:54home invasions.
06:55I'll be seeing spiking to find a way to control it or totally get rid of it.
06:59Now, according to the media release here, home invasion suspect held after police-involved shooting.
07:04A person of interest in a recent home invasion was held after a police shooting in Wallerfield on Wednesday.
07:10Now, around 9 p.m. on October 14, 2026, officers assigned to the Northern Division CID responded to a report
07:19of loud explosions at Antigua Road Wallerfield.
07:22Upon arrival, the officers exited their unmarked police vehicle and walked approximately 50 feet off the roadway into a dirt
07:31road surrounded by bushes.
07:33While walking, they observed a group of men standing next to a gold-colored Nissan B-13 with two of
07:40them holding what appeared to be firearms in their hands.
07:44The officers shouted, police! And the two armed men looked in their direction and began shooting.
07:51In keeping with the use-of-force policy, two officers discharged their service pistols in the direction of the suspects,
07:58who then ran in different directions.
08:00Two of the men escaped, but a third was apprehended a short distance away after the officers gave chase.
08:07The apprehended suspect was uninjured and no officers were injured.
08:12Now, officers of the Division's task force and the La Hocketa Police Station arrived a short while to help search
08:18for the escaped men, but were unable to locate them.
08:22Now, three 9mm spendshells were recovered at the scene.
08:26The 23-year-old Arima man, who was held, was identified as a person of interest in a recent home
08:33invasion and remained in custody.
08:35The investigations into the incident are ongoing.
08:39Yes, it must be commended.
08:41And I want to encourage communities to continue to establish neighborhood watch groups.
08:47Community WhatsApp group, have your number on the police officer, the inspector number on speed dial.
08:52I want to commend the officers for the response.
08:55The criminal element must know that a few seconds police are away.
08:59Give them no room.
09:01And that has to do with the networking of the community, neighborhood watch group.
09:07Well, let's call them, Marko Mitter.
09:08Yes.
09:08Of everyone Marko in.
09:09Go to the house.
09:11But it works.
09:11It is good.
09:12Yes, it's good.
09:13It works.
09:13It's good.
09:14Something going on, something I missed.
09:15I came on my lookout.
09:17On the next night, I saw my neighbor doors open.
09:19And when we called him, he said, my door open?
09:21I said, yes.
09:23He said, officer, go across.
09:25The key's on, so on, so on, secured.
09:26And the next gentleman left his electronic gate open.
09:30I said, big man, you know the electronic gate open?
09:32He said, big man, I'm really grateful.
09:34He does find money.
09:35You see, when you have neighborhood watch everybody looking out for each other, that speaks volumes.
09:39Yes, and you're able to have a good relationship with your neighbors.
09:42That's right.
09:42Nobody says you need to show up every weekend in the house and sit down and knock a glass,
09:46but at least give each other that respect in case of anything.
09:50Yes, yes.
09:50You'll have each other's backs.
09:51Yes, yes.
09:51You'll have each other's backs.
09:53And sometimes you can turn on invitation, you know.
09:55Some people are just waiting for invitation.
09:56Yeah, yeah, pushing.
09:57Yeah, big man, what are you doing?
09:58Nobody, neighborhood watch group is a step in the right direction.
10:02You see that phone, when you have a nice group community chat, excellent.
10:06And knowing the officers, speed dial, they don't know something is amiss, something is wrong.
10:11I can now make two laps, a strange vehicle.
10:13It's imperative that you police the community.
10:16Now, it is also important that we constantly say to people, be aware of your surroundings.
10:20Now, this happened in the Western Division, and again, they're targeting our elderly persons in society.
10:27And this gentleman here, as you can see on the screen, the two men, clearly they were marking him,
10:33took a large sum of cash because he was leaving a said financial institution.
10:39And to me, watch the suspects there, right?
10:45How you know that this man left with all this money?
10:49And they're walking him.
10:50They're not even running.
10:52They're operating.
10:53Like, oh, I just came to pick up my items.
10:55These, look, he had to throw his cane.
10:57This is ridiculous.
10:58Look, look.
10:59Able-bodied young men.
11:01And again, anyone with information, we always ask, please contact 555-999 or 800-TIPS.
11:07This could be one of your grandparents.
11:09I say, raise an alarm, scream, ball, thief.
11:12We have moved away from that, eh?
11:15We have moved away from the screaming and balling, and we're going to the phone to call somebody.
11:18We have to go back to traditional days.
11:20No, my question to you is, if this elderly man had a firearm, and how these gentlemen are walking away
11:29from him,
11:29and these gentlemen, I can't even call them gentlemen, the monsters, they have the person's item.
11:37And he decides to draw his firearm and shoot at them, but they are walking away.
11:41Is he wrong?
11:42Yeah.
11:43But they have the items.
11:44Yeah, he's no longer addressed.
11:45But you have my stuff.
11:46Good, so therefore, he can draw the firearm in the air, you know, to use reverse psychology,
11:51but if you draw the firearm at a person, and some bullet may contact, then the law doesn't prevent you.
11:59Now, if it is that there's a tussle of fighting, and you draw your firearm because your life is a
12:05danger,
12:06then you can make a good case for yourself.
12:08But if the people are leaving, the law is funny.
12:11You have to make a very good case.
12:13But you have my stuff.
12:14You have your stuff.
12:15Call the police quick.
12:16Make a notary person.
12:18Some kind of scars.
12:20They're wearing blue.
12:21There was one police rich.
12:22Police will be able to assist you in terms of operating any person.
12:26That's how it is.
12:29I know you.
12:29I know you want to...
12:31I know you, Mrs. Osborne.
12:33You want to rest...
12:34It's not just me trigger-happier.
12:37Let me make that very clear to you and the public and to all the officers that I respect that
12:42come here.
12:42That is not what I am inciting.
12:44What I am saying is, if I had a firearm, and I am outnumbered, and you snatch my stuff, and
12:50I draw, and I say, hey, give me back my stuff.
12:54And the flame.
12:55And they're walking away.
12:56The flame.
12:57You're no longer danger.
12:58So if I run in them now, and you see me with my firearm, am I still wrong?
13:02No.
13:03It's when you draw the firearm.
13:04But they say once you draw your firearm, that means you must use it.
13:07Eminent, yes.
13:08You're saying that it's imminent danger.
13:09So I have to use it.
13:10Yes, and it's a form of common assault, too.
13:12When you draw a firearm, it means that your life is a danger, you know?
13:16Yes.
13:17Now, if somebody takes something from you and making way, making, taking free, yes, that's a different story.
13:23So it is important that the law requires you to make notes, take notes of the person image.
13:28If you want a firearm up in the air, then you'll have to justify it, too, when your officers reach.
13:33But I don't even think that will startle them.
13:36They will walk in our way, you know?
13:37Yes.
13:38Like it just come out of your house, you know?
13:40So the persons with the money need to be a little more circumspect.
13:45You can't have all that money on you.
13:47Look at the gentleman, you can hardly walk.
13:48No, I am not casting any sort of aspersions on anyone.
13:55But this can't be that these two random guys realized this man had this sum of money.
14:01Someone gave that information.
14:03And they were wrong all the time.
14:05That is an excellent point.
14:07And we need to understand that, that somebody wants to report something.
14:12Yes.
14:12And you need to conduct yourself differently.
14:14We need to find a way of dealing with when persons leaving a financial institution,
14:20that they are somewhat protected at least to a certain extent.
14:25Some people do a good job.
14:26Unfortunately, that's the only way.
14:27That's the only way that anyone can find out.
14:30I am walking out of the bank with $50,000 in our bank.
14:33And they know which bag to go in because the bag not looking like a money bag.
14:36Something is passing strange.
14:39Something is passing somebody in from somebody.
14:41I don't like that.
14:43Or somebody inside the bank.
14:44And I don't want to.
14:46I'm happy that, you know, because of protection of name and that kind of stuff.
14:50Yeah, no.
14:50But that's what I was saying.
14:51Yeah.
14:51I am assuming clearly somebody within the financial institution had to give some sort of information
14:57to somebody out there because how they know in that moment when he coming out, what car,
15:02all these things.
15:03Like, come on.
15:04We have to conduct our affairs differently, Ms. Husband.
15:07If you know that you must take out cash, you have to be able to must take out respect.
15:12You can't be moving by yourself.
15:14Somebody must.
15:15Sometimes you're conducting, you're conducting transaction and people see it.
15:19And here you're not just seeing.
15:21Yes.
15:21You can grrrr.
15:23Yes.
15:23You can grrrr.
15:23You can get money today, boy.
15:25Grrrr.
15:25Not knowing sometimes you're depositing the money, but they don't know that.
15:28The person will ride there in the line, position himself, and make a call, say,
15:32right, Papi now drove 50,000.
15:34You're moving in Bronx.
15:35So and so, these people, listen to me, they make their business of soft target.
15:42We say one of our targets when you live in.
15:43Yes.
15:44Don't ever make yourself a hard target.
15:46No, you'll be a hard target.
15:48That's right.
15:49Okay.
15:49So the point is, is that we have to understand that times are different.
15:53And as we conduct business, it must be different to bring somebody with you.
15:57Have a tea party with you.
15:58Now, something that I realized that has come back once again, we're seeing more and more
16:03persons, chains being snatched, and we constantly stand here and tell the public, yes, we understand,
16:09we know it's your jewelry, you want to wear it when you want to wear it, but time and place.
16:13And the reason for that is because situations like this happen.
16:18So, that's how quick it was.
16:20Watch your gentleman in the red t-shirt, we're going to play it back again.
16:23And you see how, oh, they're walking away now, they're no longer running.
16:27They snatched the lady's chain, and the person is moving.
16:31Now, we're not sure if the gentleman is working with him, we don't know.
16:33But, he snatched it, so he's, you want to, you look around, like, what you're going to do?
16:37That's awesome.
16:38What could you do?
16:39They're no longer running, eh?
16:40Run what?
16:42Come.
16:43And they're doing these things in slippers.
16:46Soft target, too.
16:46Look at the person, he pick on.
16:48Yeah.
16:48He say, well, it's a woman, look.
16:50Yeah.
16:51Like, I just went out to the shop to get something.
16:53And unfortunately, you know, she's traumatized.
16:55You want to know what else went on here?
16:57You all know?
16:58Yeah, we appeal to people, don't wear jewelry, oh Lord, don't, be very careful on the circumspect
17:03in terms of where you wear jewelry, which parts you wear it.
17:06You know, I made the comment last time that if it is that you, I mean, I say we are
17:12going
17:13out, and for some reason you sort of feel funny, there's a six cents clock in.
17:17Yes.
17:18Take it off.
17:19Yeah, don't play that.
17:20Yeah, take it off.
17:21It guides you.
17:22Yes, I agree with that.
17:23And certain places, you should just not wear it.
17:26You don't need to wear it.
17:28I stopped buying real gold because of situations like this.
17:34And even costume jewelry passing as the real gold items that we wear, even down to accessories.
17:40So you still have to be mindful of that.
17:42Because you can use the life of a costume jewelry.
17:44Costume jewelry.
17:44You know, so you have to be careful.
17:46Now, there was an incident that took place in the Movo Junction area, and this is where
17:52I see it seems like a lot of us out here angry.
17:55Now, the gentleman in the red vehicle in front you're seeing there was seemingly reversing.
18:00We are still not sure what was happening with his vehicle, but this seems like his car
18:05was rolling back.
18:06He made contact with the vehicle.
18:07Yes, but nothing like to seriously damage.
18:11He had a kiss.
18:12Yeah, right?
18:13But he didn't want that kiss that day.
18:15And it escalated to this.
18:17And it seems like it's an elderly gentleman, too, who's in the red vehicle.
18:21Yeah.
18:22Road rage.
18:23And you see it's still rolling back.
18:24So as I'm saying, it may have been an issue with his car, not that he was purposely reversing
18:32on the said vehicle.
18:33Yeah, and it looks like a gear shift.
18:35It doesn't look like an automatic.
18:37Yeah.
18:38The point is...
18:39And he's still not seeing it as, you know, this is a mature gentleman, but this is not
18:47an example, corporal, that we want...
18:49No, no, no, no, we come from all that.
18:51You can take the vehicle number, go to the station, the police officers will go to license
18:56in, make a...
18:57You can even take a phone.
18:58Yes.
18:59Take your phone and make a case.
19:01No, this could be assault.
19:02Yeah.
19:03That is ridiculous.
19:05And if God...
19:06I mean, in this case, it didn't happen, but your life could change in a split second.
19:11A bad bloke could kill the gentleman off of a kiss of your vehicle and your vehicle...
19:17A simple contact.
19:18Yeah.
19:19Simple contact.
19:20And he didn't even look at the...
19:21All he knows is that the vehicle reverse and make a contact with him.
19:24He didn't even look to see the damage.
19:26What's going on, yeah.
19:26He just went straight to the gentleman and started to attack him.
19:29And it's just sad to see that there are a lot of angry people out there.
19:33And we spoke about that.
19:34Yeah.
19:35Consuming anger, suppressing your anger.
19:37Place to cut to be that angry right now.
19:40Just saying.
19:41All right.
19:41Right now, it's time for us to take a look at what's making today's headlines.
19:45We'll see you next time.
19:47We'll see you next time.
19:48We'll see you next time.
19:52We'll see you next time.
19:53We'll see you next time.
19:54We'll see you next time.
19:55We'll see you next time.
19:57We'll see you next time.
19:58We'll see you next time.
20:00We'll see you next time.
20:02We'll see you next time.

24:28And we are back.
24:29And of course, we're now joining us in for ASP Russell.
24:32We have Corporal Chabody here with us.
24:34And remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
24:41Now, Corporal, I understand the Transit Police did something special recently.
24:46What's going on with them?
24:47I just want to use this platform to congratulate the Transit Police for an excellent job done.
24:56Listen to me.
24:56Once upon a time, it was police, police, police.
25:00But I want to commend, well, of course, the minister at that time, which is Jack Warner,
25:06who was a brainchild.
25:08And you know how they started?
25:09You had a bittersweet taste.
25:11Yes.
25:11They do good work.
25:13They do good work.
25:14Let me tell you something.
25:15I come from Edinburgh 500.
25:17And sometimes, you know, how come the traffic's so nice today?
25:20They are, do they already execute?
25:23You know, they would have speak to people.
25:25And what is good about Transit Police, they work in concert with a police officer.
25:29So they have earned their respect.
25:31Okay.
25:32In terms, and that is excellent.
25:34I want to really commend them for the absolutely excellent work that they're doing.
25:40The Superintendent Paponet.
25:43Christopher, I want to salute you, sir.
25:45PC Ronald Ifritas, Corporal Holder, WPC.
25:49Listen, I really want to commend the Transit Police for really how they conduct the affairs.
25:57Sometimes they're on the bus route.
25:59The other guys, I do have permission, sir, to be on the bus route.
26:03Can I get, can I see any kind of document?
26:05They enter this cushion with you.
26:07And, you know, sometimes we talk about our very own, but the Transit Police today, we need to commend them.
26:13Yes.
26:14We need to salute them.
26:15Okay, well.
26:15Yeah, you know, we need to tell them.
26:16Thank you very much.
26:18Excellent.
26:18And I really hope that you continue from strength to strength.
26:21It's a good thing to have people who are specialized on the bus route.
26:25Yes.
26:26You know, they understand it.
26:28Come down, man.
26:29Understand the flow, everything.
26:30Yes, yes.
26:30So, you ever got to get a ticket on the bus route?
26:32No, I've never received a ticket on the bus route.
26:34You ever use the bus route?
26:35No.
26:36Unless they tell me when they open up, we could use it, but I never use it.
26:39I don't like tickets, you know.
26:40I do like to give the government my money and stuff.
26:43You're very sick.
26:44I'm $40.
26:44And I'm afraid of jail.
26:46But I know, well, you'll see to me.
26:48I don't like jail at all.
26:49It's quite okay with that one.
26:50Yeah, yeah, yeah.
26:51And I don't like to give away my money that I was looking for.
26:53We have another call.
26:54Caller, good evening.
26:56Hello.
26:57Hi, good evening.
26:58Good evening to you both.
27:00Yes, good evening to you.
27:01Just very, very extremely disappointed in what I'm hearing.
27:05Mm-hmm.
27:06The guy smacked the ladies, whatever she had.
27:10That's it.
27:11And the officer is saying that if she responds, she is wrong.
27:16So you're telling me that the law protects the bandit.
27:20The cook, he is getting away with the lady's item.
27:24So she can't run after him.
27:26She can't pelt him with something.
27:27She can do nothing.
27:28The police coming tomorrow.
27:30They ain't coming today.
27:31They coming tomorrow.
27:32By that time, the bandit gone.
27:36All right.
27:37All right.
27:39Well, he misrepresented what I said.
27:42We were talking about her firearm.
27:43Yes.
27:43That was the other situation.
27:44But she's saying in the case of the lady, she can scream, she can bawl, she can put up.
27:50But don't run after the suspect.
27:52No.
27:53You have to be careful.
27:54If you run after the suspect, follow them and to raise a lamb family.
27:57She's putting herself at risk.
27:59Yes.
27:59Look at the size of the men.
28:00They may devour her.
28:01So you have to be tactful.
28:03It's a channiness, but your self-preservation is paramount.
28:06So it's when police come, you can give a description.
28:08They're going to now turn left on the street, officer, because at the end of the day, you
28:13have to preserve yourself.
28:14You do not put yourself in extra harm's way.
28:17So providing and misleading people that go and fight up and look at the two young men size
28:23to the lady, by the time they're ready, even, you understand, which we have seen.
28:28So let good sense prevail.
28:30We have another call.
28:31Caller, good evening.
28:32Again, ma'am.
28:33Hi.
28:34Good evening.
28:35Yes, good evening.
28:37Yes, sir.
28:38I heard Ms. Husbands ask a question.
28:42And the question she asked is if she is the holder of a firearm and the person is running
28:46away, if she can't shoot, and the officer told her, no, but I remember hearing the Minister
28:54of Justice say you could shoot somebody from behind if they're running away.
28:58I remember hearing that.
29:00He said that in court, my thing is either in Parliament or on TV.
29:03He said that openly.
29:04Nevertheless, my other contribution is in the bank, when you go in the bank and you join
29:11out some money, that machine count according to how much money you take.
29:17And if you see somebody stand up and tell her, that machine go ten times, right, or five
29:24times, that is $50,000.
29:27So somebody in the line could be standing up.
29:29Somebody could be standing in line and they're waiting, and they see this old man gone,
29:34one up to the teller, and that machine kicked off about five, six times.
29:38And as that man, and he stands up there and he watches, and when that old man, a old person
29:43walks out of the bank, he watches carefully, and he just decides, shoot, I'm staying here
29:48again, the line is too long, and he walks out of the bank.
29:51But he would have seen that person by the counter, and there's nothing that stops him from sending
29:58his description to whosoever else is outside.
30:01So you cannot always blame the people in the establishment for passing on the information.
30:08There are spotters who go in the bank to spot people.
30:11There are spotters, and there are people who are still KLS, I mean, what's this, with the
30:16way how they take out money and everything else.
30:18You know, so this thing, these things can happen.
30:20Okay?
30:21Thank you very much.
30:23All right.
30:24Thank you, Kola.
30:26But I mean, you said all of those things.
30:27I said all that, that I think that the bank need to conduct their affairs privately.
30:32If I'm taking out $50,000, it must be a little more inconspicuous.
30:36Yes.
30:36I must be afforded an area privately where I can go and conduct my affairs.
30:40And if I request the service of a security guard, that too must be a service.
30:45We need to revisit, and I did mention that we need to look, and the person who is also
30:51withdrawing and conducting their affairs, they need to make sure that their safety is paramount.
30:56You know, because all those monies are insured, you know.
31:00Yeah.
31:00And your life is important.
31:02So I think that the bank and person who conduct in transaction, they need to be given a special
31:07type of service based on the amount that they withdrawing.
31:09Something that we can look at.
31:10Yes, definitely.
31:11Remember, we will take more of your calls when we get back.
31:14You can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
31:20We'll be back.
31:22As a teacher teaching how much years, I never see if I have a subject called bullying on a
31:29timetable yet.
31:30But all them children want to beat up other children instead of beating their book.
31:36And to me, that is big, big failure.
31:40I promise to do my part to stop the bullying in the people and them school.
31:46But you see parents, you see uncles, you see grannies, you see aunties, you see nenens,
31:52all of them.
31:52And all of you, all you have to help out too.
31:55All you have to teach them the right way, boy.
31:58They have to choose peace, not physical and verbal violence.
32:04And teach them to be a bully, not a bully.
32:09Tell somebody.

45:00Catfish. We are back. Remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 or 1997.
45:07We have a caller. Caller. Good evening. Hello.
45:12Hello.
45:12Hello. With me. Good evening to you, sir.
45:17Mr. Shadwardy, the police is working very, very, very hard in this country.
45:24Yes, sir.
45:25I believe how to have enough kind of fun in the get now, and that budget, and I hope I
45:31get other people,
45:32other equipment, everything in order to do the job.
45:35Yes, thank you. Thank you.
45:39So, Mr. Shadwardy, everything is wrong, I'm not going to do it yet. Everything.
45:44I hope that there is something with a Shadwardy. The thing that will be free now is...
45:49No. If you just imagine, through this, if they're coming...
45:54I don't find a way to call for it. If they're coming to a customer, I have to have a
45:57treasure.
45:58If they're coming to a girl, I need a girl. I have to go and get my girl. I'm not...
46:02I'm not going to... They're not going to be the spiritual. I have to put them to sleep.
46:06Me, half of them to sleep. Don't come in my house. I'm not going in your house.
46:10Do not come in my house, you're with it.
46:13Hmm. Hmm. Wow.
46:17Well...
46:17People, you see what I said?
46:19Yeah.
46:19I mean, we're speaking off-air.
46:21Corporal, where persons of Ritchie Point, where they're not going through that.
46:25They will figure out what happens after the fact.
46:28Yes.
46:28And that is dangerous in itself.
46:30Very, very.
46:30Because vigilante justice is something where...
46:32We can promote that.
46:33Yeah, because then anything can happen to any one of us.
46:36It's a money.
46:37I'm going to be honest against you.
46:38And they can claim vigilante justice.
46:40Yeah.
46:40They can claim it.
46:41Correct.
46:41I want to tell the listenership, when a criminal element is coming for you, they will know
46:46if you have a gun concealed.
46:49They will also make that their duty.
46:52So they will approach you different.
46:54These fellas of them, they have mastered the art.
46:57And I don't want stroking me ego and patting them and giving them any kudos.
47:00I just want to warn people that whenever you approach by a gunman, it's not because they
47:05choose you randomly.
47:06They have made you a study.
47:08They know what they have on you.
47:09They see if they have a firearm concealed.
47:11If you keep me with two persons.
47:12It is their business.
47:14It is their interest that they do that.
47:16So that they will make you what you call a soft target.
47:20Okay.
47:20And you need to be careful.
47:20Your life is worth more than the $50,000.
47:24Your life is worth more than the gold chain on your neck.
47:27Your life is worth more than the gold man that I snatch.
47:29You can get that back.
47:30You can get what God will bless you.
47:31But however, it is good that your preservation is paramount.
47:35Preserve yourself, please.
47:36Now, I just want to mention this quickly here, which is the Home Invasion Bill in Trinidad
47:41and Tobago, which is now law.
47:42It is officially called the Home Invasion Self-Defense and Defense of Property Act.
47:47And that is 2025 Act No. 11 of 2025, which you could check.
47:52And this came into effect on the 20th of January, 2026.
47:57Now, the law is commonly described as the stand-your-ground law because it addresses a person's right to defend
48:03themselves and their property during a home invasion.
48:09Just to stress on that, right?
48:11At your home.
48:12I tried.
48:13Not where in your by your car, by, you know, in a public road or in front of establishment.
48:19This is at your home stand in your home.
48:21Specifically.
48:22Home.
48:22I'll try.
48:23That's the definition.
48:23I'm, I'm, Jackie, do we have a call?
48:26All right.
48:26So let's take that call and I will give you all some more when we come back.
48:29Hello, good evening.
48:30My apologies.
48:31Me, yes.
48:32Good evening, my dear.
48:33Mm-hmm.
48:34So, Officer Shabini.
48:35That's it, sir.
48:37So, what is it to you?
48:39So, let us say I would have applied for a fire-off.
48:43Not for honey.
48:45So, my application would have been to protect life and property.
48:52Family, yes.
48:53Mm-hmm.
48:53Protect life and property.
48:57My hard-earned $50,000, that's the last I have to go to transact with Peter Biddington.
49:05Ah.
49:05So, it's like, grab my hard-earned cash and runs away.
49:13However, I am a very good shot.
49:16Mm-hmm.
49:17And I hit him one leg.
49:20I hit him one leg, which would have been, let's say, life-trickment.
49:25Although, one can die from a shot to the leg.
49:28Right?
49:30And for some reason, he continues to run.
49:37And I got another one.
49:41Now, I wouldn't, you would not be a pathologist.
49:46But, okay, if I would see another one on the front, would you tell me which would be the first
49:51shot?
49:52No.
49:54I hope that kind of worms here.
49:56Mm-hmm.
49:56All right.
49:56Thank you, Kolo.
49:58So, suppose in your fire shot, I had missed and killed somebody.
50:02Which is not the one of the perpetrators.
50:04So, suppose in your fire shot and a child was crossing and the child collect that free bullet.
50:09You can answer that.
50:10So, you have to be very careful in terms of use of force and policy.
50:15The law seeks to protect you.
50:16It doesn't seek to protect the good man.
50:18It seeks to protect you.
50:19And Ms. Husband's did justice just now that when you're looking at home and somebody comes to your home, then
50:25fine.
50:26And we need to give women a fighting chance, eh?
50:28Probably if you want to add some mace and some spree and some maratical asset.
50:33I think, is it $50?
50:33Yeah, I think, yeah, you have to apply for it.
50:36Just some maratical.
50:37Listen, there are things right in your home.
50:39Yes.
50:39More deadly than a bulletinum.
50:41A bottle of maratical asset right there inside.
50:43Waiting for you.
50:45No, there are little chemicals.
50:46Things that we could put together.
50:48Listen to me and fix them nice.
50:50Fix them nice.
50:51And you waiting for a gun, waiting for a gun.
50:53Let me tell you something.
50:54Right there, in your home, there are things you could use.
50:57They will never come in your home again.
51:00And again, we appeal to people to form neighborhood watch groups, have a nice.
51:05Those are things that are working.
51:08I've seen it work.
51:09And if I cannot stand here and say otherwise, my role here is to educate and inform and just remind
51:15people what is the best practice in terms of a community coming together and fighting crime.
51:20No gunman, no gangster is not coming in any community that is well organized.
51:24Very true.
51:25We have another call.
51:26Caller, good evening.
51:28Hello.
51:29Hi.
51:30Hi, good evening.
51:31How are you?
51:33Good night.
51:33I'm fine.
51:34Good night to both of you.
51:35Same thing, ma'am.
51:36I just have a comment to make in that the young people are behaving the way they are behaving now
51:42because they are saying that when they behave in criminal behavior, there is absolutely no consequences for them.
51:51And therefore, we are also leaving room for the criminal.
51:56If we do him anything, if we do him anything, he can eventually turn around to one of us because
52:01we hit him in our legs or whatever.
52:04So he's getting away all around.
52:07All right.
52:08All right.
52:34All right.
52:36And let them know that these laws are the change.
52:38Police officers are just that in force.
52:41Once the president signs it, then the enforcement comes in.
52:44All right.
52:45We have another call.
52:45Caller, good evening.
52:48Good evening to the both of you.
52:50Good evening, sir.
52:51How are you?
52:52I'm still continuing the excellent job.
52:54You know, I said I had to intervene to assist you.
53:26Please, please, please.
53:30Yes.
53:31I said I heard that person pointed out they have a shooting.
53:34The person.
53:35In the leg.
53:36And then one from the back and then one to the front and the leg and things.
53:40It's all about the issue of threats.
53:45The threats of the person.
53:46They were the court.
53:47Go to look at.
53:47and once the threat was moving away from you and you use disproportionate means then you will face
53:56the court based on that you know that's right not that the rights of the bandit super serious
54:05but it's the action that they take which is disproportionate to what happened so your
54:11property was taken by any person is moving away they no longer trip and what the law requires you
54:18is to have a sufficient level of restraint and be able to process information which you
54:24would pass on to law enforcement who would come on the scene that is your responsibility then
54:28anything over that will see you becoming subject to the legal harm that is what your father inculcated
54:36is thank you so much thank you so thank you it's correct yeah yes it's something like removing all
54:44the emotions please yeah i mean i'm not nervous we deal with people we have people passion they're
54:52really looking for a sense of safety you know and and we have to give them a platform but but
54:58you
54:58cannot condone you know support purport that kind of um it would not be helpful and beyond the tape
55:05would not be doing justice in terms of educating and inform amongst the public and i want to thank
55:10that caller yes very on point and i think he he cannot did justice in terms of um now corporal
55:16before
55:16we go with regards to this same bill that we mentioned here which is the self defense and defense
55:22property act and i want to leave it with you all here the law does not give home owners unlimited
55:27permission to kill or injure someone simply for entering their property the circumstances matter and the act
55:35contains restrictions including where the force use is grossly disproportionate or the person entering
55:44his or who was a lawful right to be there of expectations also apply so y'all could virtually act
55:53like what i just
55:53did there to familiarize yourself to protect yourself corporal we'd like to thank you so much for being here with
55:59us we
55:59appreciate you always have a blessed one t and t continue being our targets out there we ask you to
