03:01Good evening.
03:13Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and to our Globot audience, this is Beyond The Tape.
03:17I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
03:19Now, I hope you all had an enjoyable day today, especially yesterday as we make our way into a fresh
03:25week.
03:26And it's Tuesday, and it's a Tuesday that we are dreading because in Tobago, we continue the search to find
03:32out what is going on with two-year-old Angelo Tobias Plaza.
03:36And the search continues, and of course, the TTPS will guide us accordingly with the updates that they have.
03:42And being Tuesday, there's only one man who could be here with us each and every Tuesday.
03:46We'd like to welcome ASP Russell here with us.
03:48Good evening to you, sir.
03:49Good evening, Ms. Husbands.
03:51Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and to our international viewers on behalf of our Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant
03:57Commissioners, and First and Second Division Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
04:02As usual, it's a pleasure to be here.
04:04I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
04:06I mean, this is the first time I get to interact with this.
04:08Yes, of course.
04:09How was your weekend, by the way?
04:10Well, my weekend wasn't bad at all.
04:13It was a good weekend.
04:13I attended a function at the Savannah, and it was quite nice.
04:18The civilians behaved?
04:20The civilians behaved, I must say, that I didn't hear.
04:25And what was nice at the airport, a lot of the sections had free eats and free drinks.
04:29And on my way home, I didn't see any accidents, or I didn't hear anything in the news the other
04:34day.
04:35So I thanked the public for really behaving themselves and operating within the confines of the law.
04:40So, and, you know, we look forward to more occasions like that.
04:44You know, we want it to be an everyday behavior.
04:46So you could give us a round of applause?
04:48Well, just two claps.
04:51He said just two claps.
04:52Just two claps.
04:52But as we move a serious matter that is concerning for the entire country, the two-year-old in Tobago,
04:58what is the update from the T2PS?
05:00Ms. Fassvans and Trinidad and Tobago, unfortunately, I don't have good news.
05:05Well, what I want to say is that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, we wish to advise that the
05:10investigation continues into the disappearance of the two-year-old, Angelo Tobias of Goodwood, Tobago.
05:17So, at this time, and take the information from us, at this time, seven persons have been detained and searches
05:25conducted at the Mount St. George Dump and Dam Road areas, which have resulted in nothing of evidential value being
05:34found.
05:34So, please, please, please, please, take the information from us.
05:41Searches continue today in the Pig Farm Road District, and personnel of the cyber unit have been tasked with analyzing
05:49electronic devices seized as part of the investigation.
05:53This investigation remains in multi-agency efforts, comprised of not only officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Division, but Special
06:02Victims, Homicide Bureau, the Tobago Division of Task Force, K-9 Unit, Criminal Records Office,
06:08and we want to thank the Tobago Emergency Management, as well as the Hunter Search and Rescue Team, for their
06:15continued efforts and assistance that they gave to us.
06:18We emphasize that this is a highly sensitive and active investigation, and we remain committed to conducting the best possible
06:26investigation and informing you as the news comes to hand.
06:31Now, it is also very important, ESP, that you need to inform the public, where we are seeing a lot
06:37of information on social media in particular, where persons are posting and adding information that is not factual.
06:44Right, and let me take this opportunity to caution members of the public to refrain from doing so.
06:51This is a traumatic situation for all, and when you post on shoots, in the simplest term, you know, you
07:01create a level of anxiety, and we want to avoid the misinformation going out there.
07:07So, I am asking you to refrain from such actions.
07:10I know the likes mean a lot to y'all, but who get it first at the sensationalization, but we
07:17are asking you to allow us to do our job and to update the public as is necessary.
07:23And we advise that think about the families of this two-year-old.
07:29If you were in that situation.
07:30Think about them.
07:31Just take a few seconds and think about them, and let your conscience be your kind.
07:36I know some may not have any conscience, but we are asking, please.
07:39But some persons already in custody, when I say so, they are detained for questioning.
07:44Seven persons.
07:45Seven persons.
07:45We are going all out.
07:47We are looking in areas.
07:48We are about to start going through digital evidence by way of cellular phones and stuff like that.
07:54And the Sammy K9 unit is also heavily involved.
07:56Of course, with their cadaver dogs and stuff like that.
07:58But they really commonly see what is cadaver dogs that are trained to pick up the scent of human remains,
08:06et cetera.
08:06So we are leaving no stone unturned.
08:09We are using all of our resources in an effort to really locate this body and really bring this to
08:17an end.
08:18However it may end, we are doing our best.
08:21Going to deal with it as such.
08:22Yes.
08:22And something that's also very important that we need to mention to the nation as well, according to a TTPS
08:28media release that the TTPS issues a national warning, the following seizure and euthanasia of illegally imported livestock.
08:46And the subsequent humane euthanasia of 35 sheep and seven goats found to be infected with the disease, which is
09:03an infectious disease.
09:05And they are advising, of course, the public, this is dangerous, et cetera.
09:11This is very, very dangerous.
09:14Yes.
09:15And, you know, I hope, you know, sometimes it's like, you wonder what next, you know?
09:21Yes.
09:21Sometimes you're really in a position where you wonder what next.
09:23And, I mean, it always happens, contraband is a hell of a thing, eh?
09:27Because a person's thing that, you know, when police do it will block is for one thing or the other.
09:32But there are other things other than illegal drugs and firearms that have been transported in vehicles.
09:36Like, for instance, we have no idea whose kitchen or restaurants or, you know, shops that these animals may have
09:47ended up in.
09:48And then we consume this and then there's an outbreak in our society.
09:52Yes.
09:52We have to be mindful of these things.
09:54And we ask the public, when you see things like this happening, you know, contact the police so that we
09:59could do an interception of the vehicle and, you know, take persons into custody so we could avoid things like
10:05that.
10:05Because a lot of these animals, they have their own little diseases in them.
10:09Hence the reason when you're coming to immigration and customs, you're asked to declare any livestock and stuff like that.
10:13So we are asking for your cooperation.
10:16Trinidad and Tobago is ours and we need to do our best to ensure that we protect not only ourselves
10:21but everybody.
10:23Yeah.
10:23So I understand that when it comes to speaking of everyone, we need to continue to focus on our children.
10:29Of course.
10:29And where are we at with that?
10:30Well, let me just give a reminder, especially, you know, in this whole situation because, you know, when things are
10:37hot like this, it's fresh in the person's mind.
10:39So the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is reminding all parents and guardians that the supervision and protection of children
10:46is not only a moral responsibility but also a legal obligation under the Children's Act.
10:54With respect to recent incidents, we continue to highlight the dangers faced by unsupervised children.
11:02The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service urges all caregivers to exercise vigilance and take proactive steps to ensure the safety
11:10and well-being of minors at all times.
11:12Just a few pieces of advice, some information.
11:15Parents and guardians are strongly advised to one, maintain constant supervision of young children, particularly around homes, roads, beaches, and
11:24public spaces.
11:25Know your child's way about.
11:28Avoid leaving children unattended.
11:30Vet your caregivers.
11:32You don't know who is who.
11:34The person who come in to pick them up in the vehicle, make sure their vehicle have insurance, make sure
11:38their driver's permit is valid.
11:39Things like that.
11:41Secure your environment, including gates, doors, access to pools.
11:46Secure your environment.
11:48Report concerns immediately if a child is missing or in danger.
11:53Remember these things, parents.
11:55Parents and guardians, you all have a legal duty to provide care, protection, and supervision for children under their control.
12:03And failure to do so can amount to neglect.
12:07And the fines under Section 4 of the Children's Act is as follows.
12:13On summary conviction to a fine of $5,000 and to imprisonment for six years.
12:19Or, on conviction on indictment to a fine of $50,000 and to imprisonment for ten years.
12:30So, I'm just sharing the information.
12:32We need to give our love and show that love to the younger generation.
12:38ASP, what can you tell, you know, parents who may be listening or they know of individuals who may now
12:44become parents or they are parents and they don't know how to interact with their children.
12:50They have this guts because there are some parents like that.
12:52What would you advise them to do in that case so they would not bring additional harm to that child
12:58or children?
12:59Well, I am asking that we be our brother's keeper.
13:02I mean, you're in a neighborhood and you recognize something.
13:04It may be a situation where the person may have just attained the age of 19.
13:10So, they are indeed an adult but a young adult.
13:12And, you know, sometimes we have to step in as a village, as a community.
13:16You know, you heard the same before, it takes a village to raise a child.
13:19And, sometimes in situations like these, we just have to do that, you know.
13:23Go sit, talk with them, share ideas, share suggestions.
13:26Because, you know, as a single parent or even young parents on the whole together, having a newborn baby brings
13:35a level of challenge into any situation.
13:38The care is different.
13:40It's an adjustment and change of lifestyle.
13:42So, we're asking persons, if you know you're not ready, using necessary contraceptives to avoid that.
13:47But, having a child is a serious responsibility.
13:51Some persons, because they don't know, some persons don't know about contraceptives.
13:54They're telling them that and they're watching like, what are you talking about?
13:57And, this is a true reality that we face in Trinidad and Tobago.
14:01People will say, well, what are you talking, man?
14:03And, this is not true.
14:04There are people who are not educated when it comes to protecting themselves, when it comes to now having intercourse
14:11with someone.
14:12And, we are rigid stage where they don't know that contraceptives are really there to assist.
14:17And, family planning, they may not even have the money to reach the family planning, to be advised, to be
14:22given the contraceptives that are needed to educate them on how it works.
14:27So, we need to have the parents do their part as well.
14:31Because, you know, the sex conversation with your young one should no longer be taboo.
14:35It's still very taboo.
14:36We need to have that conversation from a caring and loving standpoint.
14:41We don't have to be coarse and rude with it.
14:44But, we could use the biological terms.
14:47You could search YouTube, find the correct, or we could use the digital platforms that assist us in this kind
14:53of conversation.
14:53You could search your YouTube, search your Google.
14:56Use an expert like a doctor.
14:58Oh, yeah.
14:58You have your general practitioner that is there to assist.
15:02But, I think if we continue hiding and shying away from it, we will see what happened in Tobago where
15:07the lady called and she was so upset.
15:09Yeah.
15:09Because, again, the experimenting in a space does not make it right.
15:14Mm-hmm.
15:15But, if we continue to educate, the ignorance will be bliss.
15:19Of course.
15:20And, education is key.
15:22I don't know if we have parenting classes in Chinatown.
15:25We should.
15:25But, it's something that if the government could do a program.
15:28Yes.
15:29I think they are, actually, if I'm not mistaken, an issue of Homeland Security, from what Mr. Ali stated, is
15:35that they're also engaging parents.
15:37And, even though you may raise or have raised good children or any process of, they still want all parents
15:44involved.
15:45Well, that's a good initiative.
15:46I ask persons to take advantage of this initiative so that we can have a better children in Tobago going
15:51forward.
15:52You know, we have to make sure that we really, really bring the youths along because it's society.
15:57And, as we get older, we need the younger generation because the youths in the school today, they are our
16:05prime ministers, our doctors, our teachers, our police officers, our lawyers, etc.
16:10So, we really need to really show that love and that nurturing.
16:13As the saying goes, don't let the curiosity kill the cat.
16:16So, let's be wise, alright?
16:18Right now, let's take a look at what's making our SOE update as of May 19th, 2026.
16:25Number of operations, 5,752.
16:28Number of targets, priority offenders, 1,771.
16:32Searches conducted, 2,796.
16:35Traffic operations, 3,372.
16:39Total persons arrested, 2,551.
16:42Total persons charged, 538.
16:47Firearms recovered, we're seeing an increase with the revolvers, a total of 153.
16:51Ammunition recovered, we're seeing an increase with the 9mm, giving us a total of 3,160.
16:57And dangerous drugs, we're seeing cannabis and grams of cocaine ASP.
17:03I see you're not in ASP.
17:04You're happy to see that.
17:06Well, guns, ammunition and dangerous drugs, yes.
17:08Yeah, marijuana and cocaine, the drug of choice.
17:12Firearms, the weapon of choice.
17:14I realize the wrongs of choice is really the 9mm.
17:18It's very popular in Trinidad.
17:18Yeah, because it's a common wrong among a lot of the firearms.
17:22You know, it's good for self-defense.
17:25It's good for home protection.
17:26It's a lot of law enforcement agencies using 9mm caliber wrongs because it fits in quite a few weapons.
17:32So, you will always see that leading when it comes to seizure.
17:36But what I'm also paying attention to, and which is very rare that we will see in Trinidad and Tobago,
17:41it's grams of cocaine.
17:46We have so many users here, no?
17:48Mr. Osborne, what really takes place, yes, we have users.
17:52We have a lot of users of all sects of the society.
17:56Of course.
17:58And what we have to record is that Trinidad is strategically placed as a trans-shipment point.
18:03You know, so we are, our location is poised close to the Americas and stuff like that.
18:10We're in a sweet spot.
18:10We're in a kind of a sweet spot.
18:11So, we would always see that.
18:13I am, it's no stranger for me.
18:15I worked, um, organized crime and narcotic units.
18:18And if I could call it OCNU, I've been there in the early days when it was, uh, Woodbrook.
18:25And, last season, I was in, um, drugs, cooking.
18:28It's part of it.
18:29It's, yeah.
18:29It's no stranger.
18:30I told you something that, you know, in the Caribbean.
18:33I know that they will have users, but not like this.
18:36Mr. Osborne, if I tell you of some of my eggs.
18:38So, we are truly the gateway drug that marijuana is opening doors.
18:41Yes, indeed.
18:42Yes, indeed.
18:43Yes, indeed.
18:43But, you know, sometimes you listen to persons, and even in the media.
18:48I, I made the clarion call for persons in the media to be responsible with their statements.
18:53Because, I mean, when we open this kind of booms and the marijuana, have you graduate to
18:59something else, you know.
19:01But someone beg to the floor without arguments, you know.
19:04And, and I totally, I respect the argument.
19:07But from law enforcement, where I sit.
19:09And look at policies now.
19:11You'd be a, could you just say, alright, could we be looking at policies?
19:13Of course, it is decriminalized.
19:16Not legalized.
19:17Yeah.
19:17Meaning that you could have about 30 grams, 30 grams on you.
19:19For plants.
19:20Without being charged.
19:21For plants.
19:22Consumption in your home.
19:24You recognize the consumption in your home mean you could smoke it at home.
19:27Not in the streets.
19:28You realize that now we have started enforcing the whole smoking in public law as well.
19:32For cigarettes as well.
19:33So understand where the thing is going.
19:36We're trying to bring back the society to avoid these things.
19:40Because alcohol could also be looked at as a.
19:42As a drug.
19:43A gateway drug too.
19:44Anything that alters the chemical state of the brain is considered a drug or not.
19:48Yeah.
19:48So we have to be careful how we really, the things we project and the statements and the
19:55things we glorify and stuff like that.
19:58Now we understand that there's some people may use it for medicinal purposes as well.
20:02It has been prescribed.
20:03And those who use it for religion.
20:04Because some of them also, how I mentioned it, they will feel offended.
20:07But it's the case of the state, right?
20:10Yeah.
20:10But this is what we face with today.
20:13And the abuse of everything is what is important.
20:16Because even if it's used for medicinal purposes.
20:19It's prescribed of how and when to take it.
20:21Correct.
20:21But the abuse of it, a lot of the times the way it comes in.
20:23And people doesn't.
20:24Sometimes people don't even know that they're addicted.
20:26Yes.
20:27Until it's too late.
20:27Until it's too late.
20:29Right now let's take a look at what we're making today's headlines.
20:31Yeah.

23:50And welcome back to our audience.
23:52Right now, it's time for us to go back to basic.
24:04How are you going?
24:07I'm okay.
24:10Now, we're doing something here, right?
24:14We just want to ensure that drivers know the rules and regulations of the nation's rule, right?
24:21Let's give you a little refresher.
24:23So, here we go, right?
24:24We want to give you three questions.
24:27I want to see people get all three routes.
24:29And you don't have taxi drivers.
24:30So, let me know the example.
24:31Taxi drivers know all the back roads, all the side roads.
24:34And they're still using regulations, they don't play, they don't play, because here what?
24:37The vehicle is the bread and butter.
24:38So, they know the thing.
24:40So, I am confident.
24:42Right now, I'm holding reputation on this, that you're going to get three routes that you.
24:46You know what I'm saying?
24:46Yeah, I hope so.
24:47Right?
24:48Question one.
24:49If the signal lights changes from green to amber and you approach an intersection, what
24:57must you do?
24:58A. Stop.
25:00If a stop cannot be made, safely proceed with caution.
25:04B. Song horn to one projections and other drivers.
25:08C. Continue through the intersection without slowing or stopping.
25:12D. Speed up to clear the intersection as quickly as possible.
25:19If a stop cannot be made, proceed with caution.
25:24So, nice.
25:24A. You see what?
25:26No.
25:27No, sir.
25:28You see what I tell you?
25:29Taxi drivers.
25:30It's more than them cars to another drive.
25:31Anyhow, anyhow.
25:32Move around, move around, move around.
25:33Number two.
25:35Which of the following actions, when performed while driving, is considered distracted driving?
25:41A. Texting.
25:43B. Talking on the phone.
25:45C. Adjusting the radio.
25:47D. Focusing on a family problem.
25:49E. All of the above.
25:51All of the above.
25:53You don't want to take my walk?
25:55You want to do that?
25:57All right.
25:58Now, this is an easy one now.
26:00Now, we didn't even hand signals.
26:01Right?
26:03So, I want you to perform the hand signals.
26:05I'm going to call you, right?
26:07To signal, you are making a left turn.
26:10I'm going to call you, sir.
26:11I'm going to call you.
26:12I'm going to call you, madam.
26:14I'm going to call you, madam, madam, man.
26:15I find out the key to the fairway.
26:16I'm going to call you.
26:18I'm going to call you.
26:19I'm going to call you, sir.
26:19Stop, man.
26:20We need a prize for this gentleman here.
26:23Yes, man.
26:24Sir, and I want to tell you something, right?
26:26You are the first driver to get.
26:28No, thank you.
26:29See what I tell you?
26:30See what I tell you about taxi drivers?
26:32See what I tell you about?
26:33The no-die rules and regulations.
26:35Hear what?
26:35I encourage you to inform other taxi drivers to do a refresher video user recognition and also younger drivers.
26:42Especially the younger.
26:43Right?
26:44So, on behalf of Princess Town Police Station Council and DPS,
26:51I'm getting all three persons correct to give you a small couple more appreciation.
26:56Thank you very much, sir, and continue being safe on the nation's road.
26:59Right, so the only person to get three out of three, a taxi driver.
27:04And, you know, taxi drivers have bad stigma.
27:07Why did they drive bad?
27:08They can't do this.
27:08They don't know signal.
27:10But this taxi driver, he was on point.
27:11He was professional.
27:12And he had no stuff.
27:13So, big up to all the taxi drivers.
27:25And that was your Back to Basic with PC Bubble ASP.
27:28Now, the conversation we had yesterday was concerning, actually, one of the questions that he asked the driver,
27:35which I'm sure we're going to see here, right?
27:37And we were speaking of the amber situation.
27:40And the question is, if this signal light changes from green to amber, as you approach an intersection, what must
27:47you do?
27:47And, of course, the driver said, A, stop.
27:50If a stop cannot be made, you proceed with caution.
27:55What is the right thing to do?
27:58Because we had a little back and forth going on on air yesterday.
28:00No, no.
28:02And this is the thing about law, right?
28:03And law is the law that says some laws are subject to interpretation.
28:06I want to put you are a driver on you.
28:09I am a driver on you.
28:11You may have full green.
28:13If the light turns amber and you're in a position where you could slow down and stop, you slow down
28:19and you stop.
28:20Understood.
28:21Do not mash the gas pedal to beat the light.
28:24Because a lot of the times we do that, we end up going through on red.
28:28Right.
28:29Nice.
28:30So, once it's amber, you slow down and stop.
28:34However, you may be, you may be seeing full green and just as you're about to pass or, you know,
28:42you cannot and it turns amber.
28:44If you could slow down, you slow down and you proceed safely.
28:47And that is this.
28:48Because, because, let me say, let me say you're on the highway and our, our highway has traffic lights.
28:53Yes, it does.
28:54Right.
28:55So, let's say you're going to the Maloney intersection, you're doing 80 kilometers, say, well, within the speed limit, you're
29:00half green.
29:01Yes.
29:01But if I'm reaching four feet before the light, it turns to amber.
29:07No one expects you to stop.
29:09It's a stop.
29:09You could never stop safely, especially if it's wet, if it have oil on the road.
29:12So, you could tip your brakes, slow down and you continue to go safely.
29:15However, if you're in a distance where you're seeing the light, you know you're now turning onto the highway and
29:20the light has been green on that time.
29:22You know you're not going to catch that light.
29:24You slow down.
29:25Either way, yes.
29:25One time and get ready to stop.
29:26Defensive driving.
29:27Defensive driving.
29:28So, it depends on, it depends, the correct thing is slow down and stop.
29:34However, if you, if it turns to amber, like two feet from the light, I mean, no one, there's no
29:40way you would be able to stop.
29:41Stop suddenly, yeah.
29:42There's no way, you know.
29:43So, people ask some persons to be practical.
29:45Hence, I guess where the answer, it said stop.
29:47Yeah.
29:48And if you can't stop.
29:50If you can't stop, yeah.
29:51You proceed with caution.
29:52Good.
29:52So, that is where the practicality of it comes through now.
29:56Comprehension is a hell of a thing.
29:57Well.
29:58We discuss it and I hope it's resolved now.
30:01So, speaking of it as well, another concern, but info that we need.
30:06The booster seats.
30:08When a child is at five years old or younger, we know the child has human in the back.
30:12But when is the right age for a child to now sit in a passenger seat of a vehicle?
30:17Well, what 43D1 says, any child, number one, any child five years and under should not be in the front
30:26seat, number one.
30:27Nice.
30:28Two, over five years, two months or six years, you must have a booster seat for that child, for the
30:37seat belt to fit them properly.
30:40Yeah.
30:40Not cutting on your neck.
30:41There also is a, some websites may give you a height limit because there's a certain height.
30:46Because it could be a fast-growing five or six-year-old, you may have some height where the seat
30:51belt would be able to fit you.
30:53But five years and under should not be in the front seat.
30:56It's a thousand dollar fine.
30:58Booster seat in the back.
30:59Keep your booster seat and put them in the back.
31:02All right.
31:02Can you repeat it again one more time?
31:03Keep your booster seat and put the children in the back.
31:06At what age?
31:07Five years and under.
31:09And five years and older.
31:11Make sure that.
31:12And with height requirements, it's also good.
31:13The higher height requirement is important as well.
31:17And if the, now let's say the child has attained six years and there's still a requirement for the booster
31:22seat based on how the child develops,
31:24I would expect that the child is still in a booster seat.
31:26And the reason there's also a height requirement that comes with it as well.
31:31All right.
31:32Ladies and gentlemen, let me take that break.
31:33We'll be back after this.

33:06Some of us like to test limits.
33:08But there won't always be second chances.
33:13Obey the speed limits.
33:15Maybe you don't value your life, but others value theirs.
33:25A message from the TTPS.
33:41And we are back now, ESPN.
33:42On the Sunday's a video that we need to revisit.
33:46Tell us about this video.
33:49I don't want to really let the cat out the bag too much.
33:52But you know, there was a video last week where the gentleman made the wrongs around social media where he
33:58got a ticket in his back seat.
33:59And I know off here we had a discussion and I said, something must have happened before that.
34:05Right?
34:06Notwithstanding that, I know you felt a particular way, the public felt a particular way.
34:11He was issued his ticket.
34:13Yes.
34:13Right?
34:14That happened on the 7th of May.
34:17I want to show the public something that happened on the 15th of May.
34:217th come before 15th.
34:23Yes.
34:23Good.
34:25So, he got a ticket on the 7th of May.
34:28The $10,000 ticket where the police was too wicked from.
34:30This is what we see in here.
34:32Yes.
34:32He was in the back seat.
34:33Yes.
34:33The first decision on the 7th.
34:35Yes.
34:36Watch this.
34:37I think there was a part where Aviko was shown.
34:41Yes.
34:41And let me see.
34:42It will be in this side video.
34:44Yes.
34:46I hope you're not looking on.
34:53Watch that vehicle, right?
34:54It's a silver vehicle.
34:56It's a seven-seater.
34:57That vehicle right there.
34:58Not the car.
35:00The first vehicle he showed.
35:01After he showed the police vehicle.
35:03Which we can't show the license.
35:04That was so that you see they're putting in the ticket into the system to hand it to him.
35:08That was on the 7th of May.
35:11Police didn't identify himself.
35:13All kind of things they said.
35:15Okay.
35:15Police called me.
35:16The police spoke with me.
35:17He said he did identify himself.
35:19Several times.
35:20And his colleague.
35:21And his colleague as well.
35:23So that was the 7th of May.
35:25Jackie, show them the 15th of May, please.
35:34What vehicle is that?
35:37What is vehicle doing?
35:38Turn and wreck it or driving?
35:40It's floating.
35:41It's floating.
35:43Listen to how calm the interaction is now, eh?
35:47Listen to the difference in the interaction.
35:52All rudeness done.
35:54All back and all done.
35:56Listen.
36:00Pleasant night, sir.
36:02I'm from 766 now.
36:0476612 PC.
36:05Hannibal.
36:06Attached to the Rock Cup police station.
36:08Can I see your license and insurance, please, sir?
36:25So I realize you're trying to escape now.
36:27Why?
36:28What was that?
36:28What was the cause of that?
36:29I was coming back home to drive home.
36:31Yes, I was coming back home.
36:32So you're driving?
36:33Your insurance expired?
36:34Yeah, or it's still expired?
36:36Oh, actually, we're not picking up the vehicle.
36:38They picked up the vehicle, but I thought it wasn't working.
36:41No, it's not working.
36:42It's because I had a fix.
36:43You know, after I get it, I think so.
36:45After I get the inspection and stuff like that, okay.
36:48No problem.
36:53Is the insurance still expired?
36:56Yes, it's still expired.
36:58What the vehicle was doing?
36:59Driving or floating without a wreck?
37:00What was doing, Ms. Osmond?
37:03But this is what I was saying, right?
37:05Body cams.
37:07Yes.
37:07Y'all have the body cams.
37:08We could avoid all of this.
37:10It's so hard to put my foot out of my mouth.
37:13Ah, and you know what?
37:14And that's what I tell a lot of persons in the public.
37:17The video always starts when the police responds.
37:23And this was a different officer, the same officer?
37:25The same officer.
37:26Interacted with him on what did?
37:28The same officer on the 15th of May.
37:30Having issued him a ticket on the 7th of May.
37:33Due to circumstances, he was given a warning.
37:35Not for the persons who sent the police for two wicked ones.
37:38When he got a warning on the 7th of May?
37:4015th.
37:41On the 15th?
37:41Oh, you're lucky.
37:42Yeah.
37:43Otherwise, we'd have to find him.
37:44That's discretion.
37:44$20,000.
37:46That's discretion.
37:46And we had some unforeseen circumstances.
37:49But I want to say.
37:51From the officer?
37:52It's discretion by.
37:57Technicalism.
37:58Because we had some technicalism.
37:59So let me call it discretion.
38:01He needs to praise the Lord because you know, with all 20,000.
38:04And listen, you realize this whole attitude is different from the last time.
38:07I mean, why?
38:09Now, persons may have seen the first one and said, we'll be a kid.
38:12But a lot of the time, the police have the information that they work with.
38:15They know they would have caught him again, you know?
38:17They knew they would have caught him again this time.
38:20And we understand.
38:21And that's what I'm saying.
38:22As a senior police officer and as the vice president of the Toronto Bigger Police Service,
38:27Social and Welfare Association, I make it abundantly clear that I have no problems with our body cams.
38:36But we have this process.
38:38They are being procured.
38:39You know, and as soon as we get there, we want them to, you know?
38:42For situations like these, we definitely want them to.
38:45But the officer was smart with regards to getting it in the act.
38:48Same officer.
38:48But it's crazy that the officers, they have to use, some of them are smart enough to use their devices
38:54to at least capture the movement before to safeguard themselves.
38:58Well, we use them what we have because the public use their devices to film us.
39:01And I have seen plenty of officers, when they wreck their car,
39:04they come out and take a picture of where they wreck it from.
39:07Pause with that.
39:07I've seen that on many occasions.
39:09I need you, I need, you have something to say?
39:10Yes.
39:11Say it.
39:11And let me just say this too.
39:13Trinidad and Tobago, the residents of Santa Cruz.
39:17Trinidad and Tobago Police Service wish to advise you that the telephone number for the Santa Cruz Police Station,
39:25676-8888 is functional.
39:28There was an issue and it went down for a short moment this morning.
39:32However, it has been rectified since this morning.
39:36So, the Santa Cruz telephone number 676-8888 for the Santa Cruz Police Station.
39:46It is fully functional.
39:49It is fully functional.
40:16Go ahead, Mr. Squires.
40:16I know you're Sherlock Holmes.
40:17Yeah.
40:18But I know they're supposed, sorry to say, but it's true.
40:21They just come out, make sure they can get the vehicle, jack it up and they go.
40:24No announcements.
40:25And, Ms. Husbands, I saw that as well.
40:29And what did you do?
40:30And I also saw persons coming out of the vehicle and going to stores.
40:35I've seen officers come out of the vehicle and going to stores.
40:38So, why is...
40:39But what is the right thing for the officers to do?
40:42So, you must endeavor, and this is very law, very look at the law, right?
40:49You make efforts to locate the person.
40:51How much effort?
40:52Ah, that is what the law does not say.
40:55It doesn't say you're mandated to go to three stores or four stores or five stores.
41:00Or two stores.
41:02You could go to one store and ask, and if nobody knows who vehicle, you could wreck it.
41:06Yes.
41:06But that is making an effort.
41:07Yes.
41:08So, there is no mandate or no bar to be measured by how much effort you must make.
41:14So, you know, I commend those who even use their own cell phones.
41:17Like when you park within nine meters of a corner and they come out and they take a picture
41:21to show that you park beyond the yellow spot or beyond the line or by the fire hydrant.
41:27Yeah, which we see.
41:28And we commend them for that as well.
41:29We have another caller, well, sorry, a caller, our first caller this evening.
41:32My apologies.
41:33Good evening.
41:34Good evening.
41:35Good evening.
41:36Good evening, caller.
41:38Good evening, officer.
41:40Hi.
41:40Hi.
41:42Do you know the Napri-Monganga Road?
41:45Napri-Monganga Road?
41:47The Napri-Monganga Road?
41:47The Napri-Monganga Road in Princeton, Ontario, South East.
41:52No problem.
41:53Not too well here, no.
41:54Well, at the moment, for the past couple months, there have been endless traffic on that road.
42:01And before somebody gets killed, please do something about that traffic.
42:06Mom, is it behind, is it behind Brand Nara Cricket Academy?
42:12No, no, no.
42:14No, no.
42:14No, no.
42:14See, the caller laughing at you.
42:15No, no, no.
42:16I'm really trying to picture where it is.
42:18Yeah, I really am.
42:19Princess, go.
42:22Napri-Monganga Road.
42:24Napri-Monganga Road.
42:24Napri-Monganga Road.
42:26Call of my spouse.
42:27I have no clue what you're talking about.
42:30Yeah, so she need assistance there.
42:32All right, and as the caller mentioned, traffic, I want to say that whilst we apologize for
42:38the traffic buildup on the Western Main Road, the Cricket area as a result of the cataract eye surgery,
42:44our officers were out there as of 5 a.m. Monday morning.
42:48I know a lot of persons complained about the traffic.
42:50However, there was an accident that further, you know, complicated things,
42:55and we had an issue getting a wrecker.
42:57So we do apologize for that.
42:59However, we did not foresee the accident happening, and I understand the traffic situation was a lot better today.
43:06No one called me today, so I am assuming that everything went well and persons got to work safely and
43:11on time.
43:12All right.
43:12We need to take that break.
43:13We'll be back.
43:26After 40, we need skin care that works as hard as we do.

43:41Question.
43:42How much does a funeral go for these days?
43:44I guarantee the figure you're thinking is way smaller than the actual cost.
43:49Because even though life is priceless, death is real expensive.
43:54But CUNA Caribbean's family indemnity plan can help.
43:57For things like sudden funeral costs, plus the other bills left behind that could threaten your finances.
44:03And imagine, for a monthly payment of less than $70, you could cover up to nine family members.
44:10And you don't have to take a medical exam to sign up.
44:13So don't stick.
44:15Get the family indemnity plan.
44:17Why?
44:17Because it's a good thing.
44:19Trust me.

45:21Do not relax, laugh, laugh.
45:24Fast.
45:25I'm coming in fast.
45:27First place.
45:27You're coming in last.
45:29Last.
45:29Last.
45:30Last.
45:30Last.
45:41And we are back.
45:42We need some assistance here.
45:44And it is coming out from the Children's Authority.
45:47They are asking for assistance from the public to locate these two young ladies.
45:51The first young lady is 15-year-old Maya Taylor.
45:56She was last seen at Beatham area.
45:59Along with a 17-year-old who has been missing for a while, Colleen Silvana.
46:04She was last seen in the Point 14 area.
46:06And anyone with information, we ask that you please contact the authorities at 996 or the police at 999.
46:14That is very important that we try to get these young ladies back, these tender ages, these teenagers, 15 and
46:2117.
46:22Please, anyone with information, please pass it on to the relevant authorities.
46:27Now, the TTPS has once again distinguished itself in the regional law enforcement excellence,
46:33capturing two of the three major awards at the recently held Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police Regional Recognition Awards.
46:42I would like to congratulate them.
46:44Of course, and I want to take it a step further, Ms. Husband.
46:48Among the top honorees were?
46:50Yes.
46:51Drumroll.
46:53Inspector Trisha Smith, who was named top Caribbean crime fighter.
46:58And Sergeant J.C. Small, who received award for the top Caribbean community policing officer.
47:06Also earning commendations were?
47:08Hello.
47:09My batch.
47:10Senior Superintendent Sherman Maynard Wilson.
47:12Hello.
47:13Who placed second runner-up.
47:14And Superintendent Arnold Luchman, who secured first runner-up in the category of top Caribbean career move.
47:24The awards were presented during the 40th annual conference of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police,
47:32which was held in Paramaribo, Suriname, in May of 2026.
47:38We want to thank Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Benjamin, for also attending as well to support the awardees.
47:47And congratulations once again.
47:49We're here to the phone lines.
47:51We have a caller.
47:51Caller, good evening.
47:53Good evening.
47:54Good evening.
47:55Good evening, caller.
47:57I just want to make a contribution.
48:01Sure.
48:01I just want to hear one, you know, there was a lot of talk about parenting.
48:05You know, and you know the family, the bedrock of society.
48:08You know, but I'm not in the solution, the approach, right?
48:12To help parents improve their parenting skills.
48:15And my mind goes back to an expert, a local person, Reverend Brian Skinner, right?
48:24Who has a nice application and I think it really must recognize it.
48:28It's about how to be taught through success in parenting, building character, teaching virtues.
48:37And how to build character as a family.
48:40It must be taught, it must be taught, it must be trained, it must be corrected, right?
48:45And it must be emphasized, required and recognized.
48:50But parents must be taught, they must be instructed, they must be trained and directed.
48:54It's 59 character qualities, right?
48:58Because every parent needs to parent and build what they like to call our character
49:03and are developing their formation.
49:06It's good character in children.
49:08They must be able to understand it, train it, right?
49:13And instruct it, and emphasize it, and recognize it, right?
49:17And require it.
49:19This is what needs to discipline, right?
49:22And child hearing behavior in a qualitative way.
49:25And I just hear some of the, um, the 59 character qualities.
49:29The amount of self-control, sensuality, fulfillment, sensitivity,
49:34to children, justice, and good.
49:36It goes on and on.
49:3759 character qualities.
49:39And each one, right?
49:40And each one, right?
49:40Has the alternatives, right?
49:43The alternatives, right?
49:44The alternatives to self-control is self-indulgence, right?
49:46But they are also what they call IELs.
49:48You must express the initiative.
49:50How it is.
49:51How it is lived.
49:53How it becomes part of this child.
49:55I usually get under brands, you know, ASB, right?
49:59Something that has been done at the youth training center,
50:02and it works.
50:04That is where you teach burials at an early age.
50:08But for parents to do it, parents will be trained.
50:11Right?
50:12They must be given the tools.
50:13I know how to do it.
50:14How to do it.
50:14How to demonstrate it.
50:16Right?
50:16I guess all I did is give a solution.
50:19Yes, you know what parents are doing.
50:20But we must have a proper solution.
50:22And the solution is building character in a family.
50:26Teaching parents, right?
50:27How to build positive character.
50:31So we have to train parents, right?
50:33Teaching them and kill them.
50:35So that they can be the facilitators and coach of their children.
50:39I hope this sends out a solution.
50:42And let's talk about the building in parents.
50:44We must find solutions.
50:45Nothing solutions.
50:46In another country, what is relevant?
50:48It will reduce the tangible period happening among families.
50:54All right.
50:54Thank you so much, Kola.
50:56Yes, please.
50:56The Kola is on point.
50:57And it may mean what the Kola is saying there.
51:01I hope the educators are hearing.
51:02We may need to revisit our secondary school education curriculum
51:09and probably create a lesson plan to teach, you know, parenting within the schools of the country.
51:18That may be a good idea.
51:20Yes, yeah.
51:20Most definitely.
51:21Remember, you can give us a call at 63-17-11 extension 1996 and 1997.
51:26We have a call online.
51:28Kola, good evening.
51:28Good evening.
51:30I'm calling from the Nafima Maro.
51:32Yes.
51:32Good evening, Kola.
51:33Anyということ, Mr. Kola?
51:33Mayor Mowar.
51:33This is true.
51:35The traffic, for the past couple of months, is horrendous.
51:39These months, the trucks, sometimes, turn 15 for the day, and they have no escort.
51:46I have no one occasion before you, Good evening.
51:49Could you ask somebody and make the bets go to these trucks, please?
51:53all right thank you so much mom yes yes I hear the caller's concern um once they are towing a
52:02particular with now the escort is an extra duty so it's an additional cost so I could understand
52:09some persons may probably use the back row to evade being seen yes I don't live down there I
52:14have to you know listen to what the caller says that alert the police in that district so that if
52:19that is going on they could you know intercept trucks refuse to take the escort now the escorts
52:24are only based on the weight and the load you're carrying so you may see a 40-foot container going
52:30about its business they do not require an escort I am not certain if she's referring to a container
52:36truck at this time however if you see you would recognize once these things like backhoe and
52:41bulldozers being transported that there is an escort you know so I'm not too sure but I would reach out
52:49to the district station and see what could be done and see what could be done call a good evening
52:56hello good evening caller good evening sir good evening sir good evening sir good evening sir
53:05good evening sir I would have told you my church when you were up to back in the days but
53:10I would have had a lot of interaction with you back in those days and I know my husband would
53:16be pleased to know that you are always an officer that gentleman
53:19I would have told you to respect what somebody may call of the truth that is persons who are riding
53:31bicycles against the traffic it is very dangerous it has become a nuisance all in Florida state they are even
53:41riding against the traffic where there are police vehicles in front of them I know I know I know it's
53:47a rider against the traffic
53:48and I see a police vehicle and I see a police vehicle they jump off your bike and your wall
53:51now they are dancing in front of the police vehicle they are dancing in front of everybody vehicle both the
53:58federal cycles and the motorized stuff so I would just like to advocate that patrol truck because of all officers
54:07on the coast so one of these cyclists when they see them doing that have a good evening Nicole thank
54:13you so much
54:13Nicole the call is on point and I too have a problem with that especially the motorized and electric ones
54:20would think because they want to be motoring on one minute and then you want to be a bicycle or
54:25the next minute and you're riding at all kind of speeds against the traffic and the caller has a red
54:30put in on point and it's something I would probably want to relate to my heads of division I don't
54:35know where I remember this but it came up to me but when on a bike or even working out
54:42let's say running jogging walking they usually say go against the traffic because you can see what's happening in front
54:47of you
54:50running is one thing miss husband running is one thing but being on a bicycle you need to go with
54:56the flow of the traffic
54:57understood we have another caller caller good evening
55:02good evening ma'am
55:03good evening caller
55:04um um first thing first
55:07um first thing first
55:08um first thing first you are so nice to look at
55:11um first thing first you are so nice to look at because you owe whoever else gifts for the mama
55:14guy something you talk
55:15through what you want to think about what kind of you know you're not like
55:20you're not like
55:21what's your birthday time you're wrong for the um
55:25what's your um birthday time
55:28Thank you so much. Thank you.
55:31Anyway, you're talking about the drugs.
55:36As I remember, so long as we discussed before,
55:39when the industry is taking a certain age of six children
55:44to have an age that they can go and buy in a week.
55:48You know, since that time,
55:53because people used to be sending younger children to cigarettes.
55:56Yes.
55:57So they didn't buy a week. That's been a long term.
56:01Except because it wasn't yet today. It began.
56:04So from the beginning, it comes back to get children immoral
56:08into these things that hide the hood.
56:11That they are going to get the attention from our friends.
56:15Who are these cousins getting out of their money from them?
56:17You don't want to help to buy a week or to buy a cigarette.
56:21What happens to them all the time?
56:23Because if they want to make a law to give them the children
56:26that are trying to survive, they are the ones who are getting
56:29into all the worst things they were going to do.
56:32And this is new conceptually. This is one. This is a big cell.
56:35What is happening to her? I tell the big things coming.
56:37It's okay. And this is a big cell.
56:38It's not a big cell. It's not a big cell.
56:50All right. Thank you so much, Kolo.
56:52I mean, the drugs, as we mentioned, and we're speaking of teenagers
56:56for having access to these drugs.
56:58The cigarettes.
56:59The cigarettes was the first case, right?
57:01And I'm going to tell you, it's a serious offense to sell cigarettes
57:03to a child under the age of 18, eh?
57:04But the vaping, too. Because I saw a school child, I am telling you,
57:08in Isha Gona's area, walking and he probably be trying to hide.
57:12But obviously, when he exhale, we go to the city smoke.
57:14But you know what happens, too? Sometimes, right?
57:16A lot of these children, they may save some of their allowances or whatever.
57:21Yes.
57:21And they will acquire these things in their civilian way.
57:24Now, somebody may look at their size and say, well, I don't want to be discriminated.
57:27Or they just do business.
57:27Or they just do business. And they just sell them just like that
57:30without even asking for any ID.
57:32And you know what? To the lawmakers, I think it would be nice if we create a law
57:36where a person must work with a form of photo ID on them.
57:40Yes.
57:40It would help us.
57:41Thank you so much, Ace, for being here with us as usual.
57:43We'll be back on Thursday and Friday.
57:45News is up next. TNT. Have a safe one.
57:47See you tomorrow. Legal Wednesdays is on tomorrow.
57:50We out.
58:02Bye.
58:02Bye.
58:03Bye.
