00:07Let's close the stairs now and read, okay?
00:13Let's do the book of why in Sports Illustrated.
00:16Let's do that. That was a good one.
00:20Why does the NFL have so many rules against hitting quarterbacks?
00:25First, there's the fact that when a quarterback is throwing a pass,
00:28he's in no position to protect himself.
00:30An injury to the quarterback can sink a team's entire season.
00:34Did you know the season-ending knee injury that Tom Brady suffered
00:37in the first game of the 2008 season led to a ban
00:40on hitting quarterbacks below the knee?
00:43And Dad is forever grateful.
00:59Omaha!
01:01All right, look.
01:04I'm a little biased.
01:06But for my money, there's simply not a harder position in sports
01:10than being an NFL quarterback.
01:12Hey!
01:1425!
01:15That's you!
01:16Nice and hot!
01:17Oh, my God!
01:20I mean, think about it.
01:23As a quarterback, every single play, you're the focus.
01:27Hey, 48, what do you got?
01:28You got a 48.
01:29You have to know everyone else's job just as well as your own.
01:33You got these two over there.
01:35You can't hear half the time.
01:37The weather's bad.
01:37You got 300-pound linemen trying to kill you.
01:41Win or lose, you are going to be front and center.
01:44Great job!
01:45You have to give credit when it's good.
01:46You have to take the blame when it's bad.
01:48You have to face the music when times are tough.
01:51No one really to blame but myself.
01:53And there's always someone waiting to take your spot.
01:56Are you planning on making me a change at quarterback?
01:59Beginning in September, each of the 32 teams selects one man to be their starting quarterback.
02:06And in 2022, that list included these three.
02:11Marcus Mariota.
02:13Hey, you get one opportunity a week.
02:15Let's put it all together for four quarters.
02:17Kirk Cousins.
02:19I got three words for you.
02:20You like that?
02:21Yeah!
02:23And Patrick Mahomes.
02:25This is what I do!
02:26This is what I do!
02:29Now, these are three very different players.
02:33Let's go!
02:34Golly!
02:34Each in very different situations.
02:37Let's go!
02:39But they all have one common goal.
02:41Turbo attack!
02:42To lead their team to a Super Bowl victory.
02:45I love going to war with you guys, man!
02:47And during the 2022 season, they allowed unprecedented access to capture that quest.
02:55They don't know I watch tape!
02:57I got tape, brother!
02:59I got tape!
03:00Everybody sees the game days.
03:02They don't see the day-to-day grind.
03:04They don't see how you have to manage playing football and being a dad and being a husband.
03:08Pick some ass, okay?
03:10Love you.
03:11And then on top of that, you've got to prepare yourself weekly for a game.
03:15Lamar, why slide?
03:16Because you're going against the best of the best.
03:19I think to whom much is given, much is required.
03:22And it is an incredible privilege to be a pro quarterback in this league.
03:26Cousins, touchdown!
03:29This was the turducken.
03:31And this is about as close as they'll ever get to crawling into our skin and seeing what
03:35it's like to truly live it on a day-in-day-out basis.
03:38You're a daddy's girl today.
03:40Always.
03:44The greatest comeback in history.
03:47NFL history.
03:49It's got to be Kirk.
03:50His neck is so heavy right now.
03:53Marcus Mariota, what's going on with that?
03:55Not with the team.
03:55Not with the team?
03:56Would you understand if he decided to make a change at quarterback?
04:00Cousins has to hold that ball to the very last second.
04:03It doesn't feel like it should be over.
04:05Looks like the ankle got twisted up.
04:08I'm going to take you out here.
04:09No!
04:10Fuck!
04:11He thinks he's about to play a damn game.
04:13Has he lost his mind?
04:14This is one year following three men.
04:20Every hit.
04:23Every hurt.
04:24It doesn't feel good.
04:26Every high.
04:29Of the hardest position in sports.
04:46And this one is over.
04:49Kansas City has won their first Super Bowl in 50 years.
04:54With Patrick Mahomes leading the comeback.
04:57Now there was a title.
04:59Let me get that.
05:00He is the Super Bowl 54 MVP.
05:04Kansas City, baby!
05:07Can you imagine the unbridled joy of a man not yet 25 years old being the Super Bowl MVP?
05:15I said I'm in a black man.
05:18I'm out of nowhere!
05:20We did it, baby!
05:21We did it!
05:23I love you!
05:24Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
05:26Winning the Super Bowl early I think was a good thing in a sense of all you want to do
05:31is get back to that spot again.
05:33Once you've won it, nothing else can be successful.
05:37You know, he is now the face of our league.
05:39He is the face of the NFL, best player in the NFL.
05:43This is a guy who is going to be the face of the league for the foreseeable future.
05:47By the way, you want to know who has the most commercials?
05:50How you like me now?
05:51Usually I'm having sodas every day, like great options for my hair.
05:55Yeah, it was wild.
05:56Once you win that Super Bowl, like everybody, media and endorsement deals and all this different stuff off the field
06:01comes flying at you.
06:03For the past few years, hairstylists have had a request for a now popular hairstyle, the Patrick Mahomes haircut.
06:10But as far as pressure on the football field, I always keep it in perspective that this is a game
06:14that I love to play and I'm going to enjoy it.
06:16This is what I do!
06:18I've been in four AFC Championship games now.
06:21I've won two and lost two.
06:23I've lost one Super Bowl and won one Super Bowl.
06:26Hey, you're a legend, man.
06:27Congrats, man.
06:28You're amazing, man.
06:29Yeah, let's keep it tight.
06:30Yeah, yeah, for sure.
06:31I'll tell you what, those losses stick with you way more than the wins do.
06:35And so for me, the goal is the Super Bowl, and if you don't win the Super Bowl, you feel
06:39like you just haven't reached your goal at the end of the day.
06:44They shovel it inside.
06:47I think for Mahomes, I mean, I'm expecting the world from him this season.
06:52Patrick Mahomes, impeccable.
06:55Five touchdown passes.
06:57He doesn't turn 27 until Saturday.
07:02When you have Patrick Mahomes in the environment that he's already in, they're always a Super Bowl contender.
07:07Snap to Mahomes.
07:08Now Mahomes scrambling to his right side.
07:10He has got a pump fake and trying to get to the outside.
07:13Now fires it sidearm, caught!
07:15And into the end zone, McKinnon!
07:17As long as Mahomes on the roster, every week they should be the favorites.
07:20Heavy favorites.
07:21You know why?
07:22And I don't say the slightly blue, because they have the best player in the history of the sport.
07:26Whoa!
07:27Far enough.
07:30Do you want to get a picture before everybody gets here?
07:32Yeah.
07:33It's over here.
07:34I do.
07:35All right.
07:36Yeah, that angle.
07:37Like, right at your face.
07:39Yeah.
07:40Your angle's right, you go.
07:41Scoot over.
07:43We weren't even in the middle.
07:45I'm up front.
07:46Nice.
07:47Maybe I'll just put my hand on my belly.
07:49One, two.
07:56There's got to be a good one.
07:57There's got to be a good one in there.
08:00There's got to be a good one.
08:01There's got to be a good one in there.
08:03Got it.
08:05Oh, my God.
08:06He hates taking pictures.
08:08Probably not many people realize that, but he's not a picture guy, so getting good photos
08:12with him is, yes, a struggle.
08:16Okay, babe, we have one more spot.
08:17No.
08:18By that thing.
08:19Yeah.
08:21Bruh.
08:22I'm pregnant and we have to work on all the angles.
08:25The way me and Brittany met is we met kind of in like seventh and eighth grade.
08:31She was a grade above me.
08:33I was like the best friend in the friend zone forever.
08:36I used to walk her to class and was trying to flirt.
08:40When I was a sophomore in high school and she was a junior, I actually got her a rose and
08:45I was kind of like, I had a crush on her, but I was getting the rose as a joke,
08:49but like
08:49kind of a quotation joke for Valentine's Day.
08:52He thought it was a joke and I thought it was the cutest thing in the world.
08:55And then everyone at our lunch table started chanting like, kiss him, kiss him, and made
09:00it really awkward because we were just friends.
09:03So, yeah, that's kind of what started it and I thought it was cute and then I, actually.
09:10Is he yelling at the dogs?
09:23Okay, we can hear you screaming at the dogs, bro.
09:30Okay, so they were chanting and I thought it was kind of awkward and it was funny and
09:34then we just kind of, I was like, okay, well, this guy's actually kind of cute.
09:38Maybe I do like him.
09:39So, then we just started talking and then started dating.
09:42We're trying to find a babysitter right now.
09:44Me and Brittany are expecting again.
09:47We're going to have a baby here at the end of November.
09:50It's going to be a baby boy.
09:52It'll be Patrick LaVaugh and Mahomes the third.
09:55Oh, that's cute.
09:57Happy birthday.
09:59I'm done.
09:59I'm done.
10:01The first two weeks of the football season flew.
10:04Flew by.
10:05Just because it was like, you played that first game and then you immediately played again.
10:09Happy birthday to you.
10:14Happy birthday, dear Pat.
10:18Is that my hair?
10:20Happy birthday to you.
10:22I can't believe the hair, though.
10:24The hair, though.
10:25Hey.
10:26That's hair.
10:27That is hair.
10:28You can see it, bro.
10:30Thank you all.
10:32Hey, babe.
10:33Yes.
10:34You're going to be really mad?
10:35What?
10:36But there's another photo op over there and the lighting is way better.
10:40I saw it at the beginning.
10:41I'm done.
10:42I'm through.
10:42I'm going to see y'all.
10:44Okay.
10:44I'm going to see y'all.
10:45One more.
10:46No.
10:46There you go.
10:47I'm out.
10:50Hey, who wants to play limbo?
10:56So what we're going to do is tomorrow after practice, I've got a list going right now of
11:02all the plays that have signals or need signals that are somewhat new or newer, and we're going
11:07to tomorrow post-practice, we're just going to walk the whole field and run one play after
11:10another.
11:11Let me give them this goalpost logo.
11:13Differentiate between sombrero and halo.
11:16I don't want anybody to think that I'm doing a halo or that I'm doing a sombrero.
11:20So I'll try to make sure the difference.
11:22And then Sabre is going to be me wielding a lightsaber like in Star Wars.
11:28Sabre.
11:30What's that?
11:33Kirk Cousins, not much expected in Washington draft when it would be a backup way back in
11:372012.
11:38Good job.
11:39Good job.
11:39Not for the pro back.
11:40What's that?
11:41Seized every single opportunity.
11:43Ten years later, the Vikings franchise quarterback.
11:47You like that?
11:47It's a good story.
11:48Great stats.
11:49But his job is about winning.
11:52And Kirk has yet to even come close to the Super Bowl.
11:57For Cousins, that clock is ticking.
12:02Thanks for giving us some time, man.
12:03We appreciate it.
12:04You know, in my business, they do rankings.
12:07You end up landing anywhere from like 10 to 12 to 15.
12:12So does it bug you?
12:14Does it deep down frost you at all?
12:16Do you say that that does bother you?
12:18Are you allowed to let it bother you?
12:20Or do you even think about that kind of stuff?
12:21I think my story going back to high school has been one of being, you know, a little overlooked, a
12:29little underrated.
12:29I love this quote by Margaret Thatcher that says, if my critics saw me walking on water, they would say
12:35it's because I can't swim.
12:36Ready?
12:37Let's go.
12:42They are going to turn the page at some point if you're just continuing to be a fringe playoff team.
12:48Started a lot of games in this league, home for a lot of yards, a lot of touchdowns, but I
12:54want a lot more than just one playoff victory.
12:57The Minnesota Vikings have beaten the New Orleans Saints.
13:01And so for me, you know, to make the final years of my football career the best years of my
13:07football career, it's going to come down to winning.
13:10Well, we hired a new coach, Kevin O'Connell, and he and I had worked together for one season in
13:15Washington in 2017.
13:16He was my quarterback coach.
13:18Everybody seems to have something to say about the way he plays quarterback or how he plays in certain games
13:24and things like that.
13:25Kirk, turn this thing loose.
13:27So much of it is narratives, some of which about Kirk are false narratives.
13:32Let's just call it what they are.
13:33Kirk, to me, is really built for it.
13:35I mean, he's such a process-oriented, driven guy.
13:38That's a good decision right there.
13:40Good, good, good.
13:41Changes are inevitable with new coaches, like how you're calling plays.
13:45Let's go West Red A-Z insert, jab Patrick XPP, candidate to jab duo versus...
13:52XPP, okay, okay.
13:53Being in a new system has caused me to feel like at times I'm back to being a rookie, and
13:59I need to get more comfortable with it and really own it.
14:03This is just a play that I haven't run until this year.
14:07The elements of it to my right, where Adam and JJ are running, are similar to things I've done in
14:12the past.
14:12But the route that KJ's running and how you would get to it or the read you would take to
14:16get you there, it's not something I've ever done.
14:21Hey, happy Sunday to you, and welcome to U.S. Bank Stadium.
14:25It is the kickoff to the 2022 Minnesota Vikings season.
14:29I'm in for this game, and I love the fact that we're going to see what this offense looks like.
14:35Week one, I mean, I remember coming off the field being shocked at just how smooth everything went.
14:41Vikings march down the field behind the throwing of Kirk Cousins.
14:45Yeah, we've got to keep grinding, man.
14:46It's going to be me and you.
14:47We've got to keep grinding.
14:50It was a nearly flawless game offensively, which was surprising with a first-year head coach.
14:55He'll throw right.
14:56Look at that.
14:57Jefferson uncovered.
14:5820, 15, 10.
15:00Dances to the right to the five.
15:02Dives for the end zone.
15:04Touchdown!
15:05Yeah!
15:07That's big time.
15:08That's big time.
15:09Woo!
15:10Woo!
15:11Hey, you like that one?
15:14Hey, what I really like is the finish, man.
15:18Not a lot of guys would be able to make that six points.
15:21We're running our, you know, 14-week-on or 12-duo.
15:24You just get us off the field with six points, man.
15:27Great job.
15:28Finish.
15:28Great job.
15:29Finish.
15:30It's special to win at home week one, divisional opponent.
15:34So it's a great start.
15:37Congratulations on the win.
15:39Thank you so much.
15:41We're trying to come up with a bet on the yellow plaid shirt you had on yesterday after
15:46the game.
15:47Seton?
15:48I'm going to go L.L. Bean.
15:51All right.
15:51Marv?
15:52I'm going to go Eddie Bauer.
15:54Oh, that's a good guess.
15:56I'm going to go R.E.I.
15:59All right.
16:00And...
16:01I wish it was L.L. Bean or Eddie Bauer.
16:05Maybe that fits my brand a little more.
16:06But my wife dresses me, by the way.
16:09It happened to be Patagonia.
16:14So normally for home games, I like to pick out his outfit.
16:19We've got some plaids, some stripes, some solids.
16:22We kind of go with the simple, people call it dad style, but I think it's very classic.
16:32Week one, I thought, this is the perfect shirt for September, for week one.
16:38It's got some fall colors in it.
16:41It's lightweight, short sleeve.
16:43It was a hot day.
16:44So I just went with it.
16:46I was kind of thinking for a while, how do I tell him that his shirt is all over the
16:51internet?
16:53Somebody ended up texting him one of the memes.
16:56I actually thought the comments were so funny.
17:00You know, when people say, boy, Kirk Cousins must be drowning in Kohl's cash, it just had
17:05me laughing.
17:06You know, I'm pretty bad at fashion, but that's because I want all my decision energy
17:09going to football.
17:10And so I like to just pass it off to Julie and let her handle it.
17:13I just feel like we're very normal people.
17:16Like, yes, we do shop at Target and Sam's Club.
17:20And so it's like, if you want to laugh at that, go for it.
17:23I don't get it, right?
17:24Because, I mean, I'm just kind of a basic guy.
17:27Pretty boring.
17:29All right, dive and catches.
17:30Ready?
17:30Okay.
17:31Ready, man.
17:32Ready.
17:33Good catch, Goop.
17:34Did you get it?
17:35Oh, yeah, he caught it.
17:36Maybe that's it, that I'm boring.
17:38And then when I do something that isn't as boring, it becomes something funny.
17:45You like that?
17:46You like that?
17:48You like that?
17:49You like that?
17:50You like that?
17:53I like that.
17:54You like that?
17:56You like that?
17:58I'm aware of the conversion van I drove becoming a thing.
18:04Remember when Kirk Cousins was like, you like that?
18:07He was talking about his van.
18:09Because you drive one of these guys, right?
18:11I do.
18:12I'm a van guy.
18:13And I feel right at home right now.
18:17A couple of 1-0 teams get together for the second game on Monday Night Football.
18:24The Vikings, they've seen their quarterback, Kirk Cousins, be very good.
18:27They brought in Kevin O'Connell, first-year head coach, to make him great.
18:31And man, last week was a heck of a way to start.
18:33Yeah, it was all good.
18:34I'm excited to watch this offense and what they're capable of doing.
18:39We're in this together.
18:40No doubt.
18:41You're the best player on the field.
18:42No doubt.
18:42Let's go.
18:43Let's go.
18:43Let's go.
18:48Let's go.
18:49First and 10 from the 25.
18:51Cousins under center.
18:53Hand off Dalvin.
18:54Stutter steps at the line.
18:55And that's going to be a loss of 1.
18:58For that first play, it was a run play with a check.
19:01And with the run game rules we had, I needed to get out of the play.
19:05I wasn't quite sure, and I was a little undecided, and I decided to just let it eat.
19:09And it was kind of a dead play.
19:11That's not a great way to start.
19:13That was one of those moments where I realized, you know, I'm not comfortable yet in this system.
19:22Yeah, I got a can in that first one.
19:23I knew it.
19:23I knew it.
19:24I was like, do I want to run a Randall into this five-man front?
19:31Cousins, deep drop.
19:33Pass is left.
19:34Intercepted.
19:36Cousins loops it to Jefferson.
19:38And it's intercepted by Darius Blay.
19:42And for Kirk Cousins, that is his first three-interception game since October of 2020.
19:49Talk to me.
19:50You're good.
19:50Talk to me.
19:51You're good.
19:51You just didn't feel like you had it.
19:53Got you.
19:54I got you.
19:55Just come flat.
19:56I got you.
19:57It's all right.
19:59I was blown away after week one, how clean the game was.
20:02And it was almost a false sense of security after week one that reared its ugly head in
20:07week two.
20:08And so that started with that first play and that run check.
20:10And then it kind of snowballed from there.
20:12And it was a game that got away from us.
20:15Final score, Philly 24, Michael in seven.
20:18And tonight was a complete disaster.
20:21How far can Kirk take this team, even with O'Connell, as his coach becomes the question?
20:32Big changes for Atlanta this year at quarterback.
20:36After a decade as the franchise guy Matt Ryan is out, Marcus Mariota in.
20:43I can't.
20:44You don't pretend.
20:48Hi.
20:49Hi.
20:49Welcome in.
20:50How are y'all doing?
20:50Good.
20:51Good.
20:51How are you?
20:51Good.
20:52I'm Tara.
20:53I'll be doing your ultrasound today.
20:56My wife and I, we found out she was pregnant on April Fool's Day.
20:59So I was, I thought she was kidding.
21:01I thought she was joking, um, you know, initially.
21:04And then, yeah.
21:05And then there's a whole bunch of excitement.
21:06And then there's like, okay, like, how are we going to do this?
21:09So she has head down, face up, which is a good thing.
21:13Wow.
21:13That's how she was last time too.
21:14Dam's in distress.
21:16Like.
21:17So she's there.
21:18Mm-hmm.
21:19Butt.
21:20And legs come back over this way.
21:21Okay, that makes sense.
21:22Because she's always, like, yeah.
21:24Oh, yeah, she's moving.
21:25Oh, you see the hand?
21:27Maybe she has, like, super...
21:28Oh, smile.
21:29Oh, did you see that?
21:30Oh, go back and I can rewind.
21:36That's cute.
21:37I would like to think I'm ready.
21:39That's what everyone says, right?
21:40Like, oh, I'm ready, I'm ready.
21:42Okay, let's go ahead and listen to her heart.
21:44I'll find out when the baby comes, if I'm ready or not.
21:52It goes so fast.
22:03And she's doing so good.
22:05She's like, fine, Dad.
22:06I'll dig it.
22:09Already a daddy's girl.
22:12Oh, yeah.
22:13Never had a girl.
22:14Like, young girl cousins didn't have any.
22:17Well, I have.
22:18I just never spent a lot of time, so it's, like, raising a girl is going to be weird.
22:22Dude, you're dead.
22:23I know.
22:24Two little girls at home, it's over.
22:25I know.
22:25And she's the first grandchild on both sides.
22:27Oh, no.
22:28Yeah, she's about to be so spoiled.
22:29Wow.
22:30You got a name picked up?
22:31Micaiah.
22:32Oh, that's awesome, dude.
22:33That's congratulations.
22:35Honestly, expecting our first child during football season, I was a little nervous for, just because
22:40we were going to be so far away from family.
22:42But going into Atlanta, some of the coaching staff we had known previously, so it seemed like
22:49a really good opportunity for a fresh start.
22:56You know, free agency is such an interesting deal, especially in my position, talking to
23:01teams, you know, seeing what the interest level was, where they viewed me, what, you know,
23:06and what role would I play.
23:08You know, and Atlanta kept coming up, just a lot with the relationship with Arthur.
23:14I met Coach Arthur as a rookie.
23:17We were together in Tennessee for five.
23:19I was there the entire time through Marcus' journey in Tennessee.
23:24Throughout the seasons, we had some success.
23:26Now he's going to scramble for the end zone.
23:28Pump faking.
23:28Fires late.
23:29It's knocked down and caught by Mariota and stretches for a touchdown.
23:32What a play, Marcus Mariota, who just threw and caught a touchdown pass.
23:39Man, that's all you're the leader.
23:43You know, like a lot of things with quarterbacks, and this is a competitive league, there's a lot
23:47of change.
23:48It's constant.
23:49Tennessee has made a change at quarterback.
23:51Out is Marcus Mariota.
23:53In is Ryan Tannehill.
23:55Sometimes that can have a huge effect, especially on a young player.
23:59You know, I was going through a little bit of confidence issues.
24:03I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep playing the position.
24:05I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep playing football in general.
24:09A couple seasons in Las Vegas, I was a backup to Derek Carr.
24:14It was a good reset in my career, allowed me to get healthy, and I found the love again of
24:18the game.
24:22Jackpot baby, Marcus Mariota.
24:26Marcus went out to play with the Raiders, and we were able to reconnect, and he had a
24:32different perspective, and certainly I was in a different spot.
24:35It came down to the fact that my relationship with Art was one of importance, and it was
24:40just a really cool opportunity for me to be a part of a team again and get a chance to
24:44start.
24:45Good morning.
24:46Good morning.
24:47How are we doing?
24:47Good, how are you?
24:48You're the real one.
24:50Yeah, have a good day.
24:51Good morning, Marcus.
24:53Marcus needs to make the most of this opportunity.
24:57You only get so many chances in the NFL to be a franchise quarterback.
25:03And oh yeah, the Falcons drafted another quarterback in the third round.
25:09With the 74th pick in the 2022 NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons select Desmond Ritter, quarterback,
25:20Cincinnati.
25:21When I watched him on tape, my comparison was Marcus Mariota, and here he is, he's going
25:27to go there and learn from Marcus Mariota and hope to eventually take his job.
25:31We drafted Desmond in the third round, and Marcus, he handled it well.
25:35To his credit, he's a very resilient guy.
25:38Good?
25:39Yeah.
25:42And here he is, Marcus Mariota.
25:47Mariota starting again, first time since 2019.
25:50Yeah!
25:51What's up, buddy?
25:52Mariota spent five years in Tennessee, former Heisman Trophy winner out of Oregon.
26:00Second overall pick, the 2015 draft.
26:03Let's go!
26:03Let's go!
26:04Last two years, backed up.
26:06Yes, sir.
26:07Derek Carr with the Raiders.
26:09Hey, man, it's an absolute pleasure.
26:11Come out with a fine set to win.
26:13We got West Rite A's 12 duo.
26:15Come on, ready?
26:21On the 25-yard line, Mariota will pick up a first.
26:28First goal!
26:30And that's one of his strengths, which is what Arthur Smith loves about Marcus Mariota, that
26:36ability, what he designed runs to get outside.
26:39One-90!
26:41From under center, Mariota's going to keep it and sneak for the touchdown!
26:47Oh, how about you, Marcus Mariota?
26:52Yeah.
26:52Play on that whiz.
26:54Yeah.
26:54Didn't realize Caleb soaked it.
26:56Yeah.
26:56Hell to play, Mike.
26:58Hey, make sure we stay in bounds.
27:00Stay in bounds.
27:00Stay in bounds.
27:01With 100 seconds to go in the ballgame.
27:04Third and one right here.
27:05If you get a foot, you win the game.
27:07Army, on one.
27:08Ready?
27:09Axel orbit.
27:10Axel orbit.
27:15Hey, we're good!
27:16We're good!
27:19Line 80!
27:21Axel!
27:22Bumble the snap.
27:23Picks it up.
27:25Dives, and I think he's still going to be a step short.
27:29Thanks to the botched exchange, keep the Falcons from picking up the first down, they would
27:36have been able to run out the clock.
27:39That's all for Mariota.
27:44Oh, boy, that was big.
27:46Coming.
27:47Okay?
27:47We're good.
27:48We're good.
27:48Yep.
27:49It was my fault 100% on the snap.
27:52It's going to be a 51-yarder for Will Lutz, and Lutz's kick is done.
27:59The ballgame ends.
28:00No way.
28:02You know, really, it's crazy, like, just how close the margins are in the NFL.
28:07Especially at the quarterback position, you know, a decision that you make in a matter of
28:12seconds can ultimately determine the outcome of not only the game, but maybe a season.
28:17On to the next, brother.
28:18Yep, on to the next one.
28:18We know we can get the end.
28:19Yeah, hell yeah.
28:21Marcus Mariota fumbled a snap on third and one.
28:24You lost the game.
28:25A lot of football, brother.
28:26A lot of football.
28:31So, the season is off and running.
28:34The Kansas City Chiefs, what have we learned about them so far?
28:37Yeah, look, you got to remember this team that traded their best wide receiver, Tyree Kill,
28:41and it's been okay through two weeks.
28:42They're 2-0.
28:43We know that.
28:44Oh!
28:45But it might be too early to tell whether that trade's going to make a lot of sense.
28:48We'll see how this unfolds.
28:49For Mahomes and Covenant.
28:51We had heard it all offseason that we weren't going to be the same without Tyree Kill.
28:57I mean, for good reason.
28:58Because of such a great player that he is.
29:01Tyree Kill makes the catch.
29:02Burning the defender.
29:04The best in the business.
29:05Tyree Kill with the peace sign.
29:07Obviously, losing Tyree.
29:09Everybody was kind of ready for the Chiefs to kind of take that step back.
29:13What's up?
29:14Everyone can talk about Tyree Kill.
29:16How's it going to go?
29:17Well, guess what?
29:22What's up?
29:22This Chiefs offense, great start in week one.
29:25Hasn't been as good the last couple.
29:26It hasn't.
29:31The Colts lead 20-17 and 24 seconds to go in the game.
29:37Let's go.
29:37Let's go get a field goal.
29:38Let's go get a field goal.
29:40Let's go get a field goal.
29:43We were playing the Colts, and at the time, they didn't have a good record.
29:47The Chiefs got to get closer here.
29:49Come on, come on, come on.
29:51I think guys kind of took that for granted.
29:54Seven seconds to go in the game.
29:55Pump faking.
29:56Pass is broken up and now intercepted.
29:59Intercepted off a deflection, and the Colts are going to win this game.
30:03On a tip pass, McLeod with the interception,
30:06and the Chiefs are going to lose for the first time this season.
30:1020-17 to the Indianapolis Colts.
30:18Are these expected growing pains with the new group, or is this trust beyond it?
30:23I mean, I don't expect any growing pains.
30:25I mean, you obviously have new players,
30:27and you don't know how everybody's going to respond in tough situations.
30:30So you know we can learn from it.
30:32But for me, I mean, our schedule gets no easier.
30:34We have a hard game Sunday night football against Tampa next week
30:38with a great defense.
30:39So we have to get better quickly.
30:41And if we don't, we don't want these Ls to start piling up.
30:43We want to make sure we get back on that winning train.
30:47They don't have a number one wide receiver.
30:50They haven't gotten that ironed out yet.
30:51It's 100% right.
30:52Anything close.
30:53That's a concern.
30:54Tyreek Hill is not there anymore.
30:55We're not seeing all the explosive plays.
30:58That was the difference in this game.
31:00You look at Kansas City, they do not have the offense to make up for.
31:05People said, well, we lost our best receiver, which arguably what we did,
31:10best in the National Football League.
31:13And so, well, we won't be as good.
31:15Our pass game will be off.
31:18And he just took that and ran with it.
31:21Ready, set.
31:22He said, hey, we're going to work at it.
31:25Higher.
31:26I think it's going to be higher.
31:28The amount of time that he spent with those guys is something that most quarterbacks
31:32in this league have not done with their players.
31:35That's perfect pace.
31:36I was going to tell you to put pace, and you did it anyways.
31:39Yeah, baby.
31:41One more, Noah.
31:42My bad.
31:48We welcome you to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida
31:51for week number four of Sunday Night Football.
31:53The Chiefs, one of the AFC's elite, led by Patrick Mahomes,
31:57against the team that beat them in the Super Bowl two years ago,
32:00the Buccaneers, led by Tom Brady.
32:02As quarterback fans, it doesn't get any better than this.
32:09How are you going to replace the big plays of Tyreek Hill?
32:13We're about to find out.
32:15He said, he said.
32:17Chiefs deep in Buccaneer territory.
32:20Hulks fires Kelsey over the middle.
32:21Inside the ten.
32:22Touchdown!
32:23Let go!
32:24Let go!
32:26Let go!
32:27Let go!
32:29I see a boy!
32:31I see a boy!
32:32I see a boy!
32:34Let's get it!
32:34Let's get it!
32:35Tom Brady over there looking for answers,
32:37and so far Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes have had all of them.
32:42Let's go!
32:44Let's go!
32:46All day!
32:47All day!
32:50We got the lead early, but when you play great quarterbacks,
32:52especially the GOAT, Tom Brady,
32:54you have to make sure that you really keep the pressure on,
32:57because you know he's going to fire his team up and get back into the game.
33:00Hey, keep the pressure on.
33:01Keep the foot down.
33:02Let's go.
33:02Let's go.
33:04First down, goal to go with the two.
33:07He floats a pass, and wide of McKinnon, incomplete.
33:11Mahomes leads his intended receiver, Jarek McKinnon, too far.
33:18Stop!
33:21A rare miscue by Patrick Mahomes.
33:23In this league, when you miss on easy slam dunk throws that can be touchdowns,
33:30my bad one,
33:31usually those things will change an entire game.
33:36Mahomes still upset because McKinnon was wide open.
33:39I want to see Patrick Mahomes be able to bounce back after that.
33:43All righty!
33:45Play action fake.
33:47Now Mahomes is in trouble, scrambling to his right,
33:49holding it, holding it, gets off the hit,
33:51now lunging forward,
33:52and how far is it late?
33:54Court!
33:54I'm like that.
33:55I'm like that.
33:57Mahomes with the touchdown pass.
34:01Let's go!
34:03A two-yard touchdown pass.
34:05Mahomes, magic!
34:08You mentioned magic.
34:09It looks like Magic Johnson out there.
34:11No-look passes,
34:13late little drops like that.
34:16I'm not usually impressed until I see it on film, like, after,
34:20or see it on Twitter after,
34:21or whatever that is.
34:27Tyreek Hill, not here,
34:29but the one positive is they've been distributing the ball across the field
34:34with many more receivers than what they did in the past.
34:38You don't necessarily know what it looks like when it happens on the field,
34:42but I remember when I hit the sideline,
34:44all I could think about was how lucky I was that I made that play
34:47because if not, we would have really lost points on that drive.
34:51I had to make up for it, that shit.
34:53I had to make up for that shit.
34:55He looks like the dad playing in the backyard with all the kids,
34:59and they can't get him on the ground.
35:01Look at this.
35:04And the little push pad, like, stop it.
35:07Stop it.
35:10Y'all saw that?
35:11I thought y'all saw that.
35:12What?
35:13That play?
35:14That's something you like.
35:15You doing bad.
35:18Had to make up for that miss, bro.
35:20I missed a wide open tub.
35:21I gotta make up for that shit somehow.
35:23And the Chiefs go to 3-1 on the season
35:25with an outstanding, exhilarating victory here in Tampa, Florida.
35:30Hey, good luck this year, man.
35:32Go do your good thing, man.
35:33You look the rest of the way out, dog.
35:34Yes, sir.
35:34Yes, sir.
35:35Yes, sir.
35:41Yeah, so State of the Union, I feel like, you know,
35:45the Eagles game obviously was a disaster.
35:49So, you know, you gotta make sure that you don't allow...
35:53You don't want to see the road game failure
35:56to spill over into a second one
35:58and then allow that to become a thing.
36:02One poor decision can set you all the way back.
36:06Well, he'll regret that decision to make it.
36:09It was the heat of the battle, and I understand that.
36:11Oh, my goodness.
36:13But you can't play the position
36:16if you're not giving yourself the grace to make mistakes.
36:19Does that make sense?
36:20I just started meeting with Dr. Mack this season.
36:24I had spoken with other psychologists in the past
36:27just as an exercise to be able to have a place to go vent.
36:31Honestly, I think at times you carry, like, a doubt mindset,
36:34like wondering what's coming around the next corner.
36:36I think there's some power in just sort of talking about what I'm processing
36:40and what the thoughts are going through my head
36:42and maybe if those thoughts need to be changed
36:45or if they need to be leaned into more.
36:46You get hooked on to the negative things that are happening,
36:50and then they always do.
36:52It crowds out the space for you to focus on the opportunities
36:56unless you quickly release the mistakes.
36:59When you do that, then you're in a better position
37:01to take advantage of what's in front of you
37:04and the opportunities that arise.
37:07It's not going to be easy.
37:09No, it never is. It never is.
37:10But that just makes the reward richer when you get to the outcome.
37:14Yeah, that's good.
37:18How are we doing?
37:20All right, let's do it. Yep.
37:23And there is Kirk Cousins.
37:25He's going to try to rebound after what was just a bad performance
37:28Monday night in Philadelphia.
37:31There goes that!
37:35Kirk, lost one.
37:36K.J. Uncovered!
37:38Incomplete!
37:39At the 20!
37:41Kirk barely overshot him.
37:44Gotta be kidding me.
37:45Nice play design.
37:47Just too much on this.
37:51Yeah, it didn't get much more wide open than that.
37:54Fourth and six, and Kirk Cousins in the offense still out there.
37:58On the ball, on the ball.
38:00There was that!
38:02Kirk protected Sweetly, fires left, caught right at the first down marker.
38:08We've got to have some fight in us.
38:09We've got to get a touchdown on the board quickly.
38:12Dalvin, stutter steps, bounces left, touchdown!
38:17As painful as missing that third down throw was, it was really big in the outcome of the game
38:21that we stayed on the field and were able to still get points in that drive and a big call
38:24by Kevin to go four on fourth down.
38:26We trail 24-21.
38:28We trail 24-21, a minute six to go.
38:30Minnesota has no timeouts remaining.
38:32So for our offense, this is it.
38:34So for our offense, this is it.
38:35Let's go.
38:35All right, here we go.
38:36I'm good.
38:37Let's go.
38:37Right now.
38:38Come on.
38:39Let's do this.
38:40Let's do this.
38:41Let's do this.
38:44Cousins straight drop, loops one to the left.
38:47It's caught by K.J. at the 35 to the 30 with 27 seconds to go.
38:55Hey, Louie, Louie.
38:57Cousins out of the shotgun.
38:58Terrible shot.
38:59Takes the snap.
39:03He's going to fire right.
39:04Yes!
39:06Touchdown!
39:11You make adjustments.
39:12You keep getting at it.
39:14Beautiful read by Cousins.
39:15Great throw.
39:15The final score, Minnesota 28, Detroit 24.
39:20And we are 2-1.
39:22It's a great call, man.
39:23Great call.
39:24You know what, though?
39:25For you to hang with the Mexico like that,
39:27and then make that play.
39:29Great job, baby!
39:30Great job.
39:31Great job, baby.
39:32Yes, sir.
39:33You're back, baby.
39:33On the way, man.
39:34Good job.
39:35Yes, sir.
39:36Good job.
39:37On the way, man.
39:38Great job.
39:38Way to go.
39:40Man.
39:47Tonight, it's the Raiders and the Chiefs, and it's Monday Night Football.
39:51Two franchises that have tried to pulverize each other for 63 seasons.
39:56Feel good.
39:57Feel good.
39:59Raiders week is the one rivalry in this league that I feel like is like a college rivalry.
40:06You have that little bit of hatred towards that team, and you can feel the energy.
40:09It's just different.
40:11Oh!
40:16Love you.
40:17Love you.
40:17Play hard.
40:17Love you.
40:18Love you.
40:19Love you.
40:19Love you.
40:19Love you.
40:20Whoo!
40:24The Chiefs must account for Max Crosby.
40:26He's the guy that you have to reckon for on that defensive line.
40:30We're done!
40:30We're done!
40:30Third and eight for Mahomes and the Chiefs.
40:32He's in trouble.
40:33And Max Crosby's gonna sack him.
40:39We got it!
40:40We got it!
40:40We got it!
40:40We got it!
40:41Shotgun to Mahomes.
40:42Crosby giving pressure.
40:43Up the middle.
40:43Bulldozes through and takes him down at the 35.
40:47The Condor flapping his wings with his second sack of the half.
40:51Max Crosby there.
40:53He's gonna follow Patrick Mahomes.
40:55There's always mind games that you play in the NFL.
40:58He was trying to do whatever he could to kind of get in my head.
41:01A little push or a little shove, wrap me up and hold me a little extra longer.
41:05We got it!
41:08He's in trouble.
41:09He'll be sacked back at the 12.
41:10Where's the flag?
41:11The crowd half expects a flag.
41:15They're waiting for him.
41:18He's diving at me after every play.
41:20After every play, 98 diving at me though.
41:22Watch 98 dive at me.
41:2698 dives at me at every play.
41:29We got it!
41:30And then he kind of gave me one of those extra punches on the arm.
41:34Come on, dawg.
41:36I know what you're doing, but just chill out a little bit.
41:38You know what I'm saying?
41:39Don't just punch me for no reason, dawg.
41:42Come on, man.
41:43I understand you touching me, but don't punch me, bro.
41:46And the Raiders now lead 17 to nothing at 9.22 to go in the second quarter.
41:52I was already frustrated.
41:53We weren't playing at a good enough level that I expected.
41:56And it kind of just snapped.
41:58And now the Chiefs will have second down and goal to go.
42:02Mahomes takes the snap.
42:03In trouble.
42:04Moves out past Crosby.
42:06Fires it late.
42:07Kelsey at the catch inside the end.
42:10Stiff arms one.
42:11Stumbles into the end zone.
42:13Touchdown!
42:14I'm here all day!
42:15I'm here all day!
42:16I'm here all day!
42:18I'm here all day!
42:19I'm here all day!
42:20You're welcome.
42:21You're welcome the one, motherfuck!
42:23You're welcome the one, motherfuck!
42:25You're welcome the one, motherfuck!
42:29The temperature is heating up.
42:32All of a sudden, I go into that mode where I don't even know what I'm saying.
42:35I'm just kind of blacking out and going crazy.
42:37I'm here!
42:39I'm here!
42:41I'm here!
42:44I'm here!
42:45Whenever Coach Reed has to grab you and pull you aside,
42:47that's when you know you're going a little too far
42:49because he's usually like, let your personality show.
42:51And Coach Reed grabbed me and was like,
42:53hey, man, we've got to calm down just a little bit.
42:55Who are you asking?
42:5698 pass, bro.
42:58Hey, I like it.
43:00That fire can just be smart.
43:02I'm sorry.
43:03I think our team needed it at that moment.
43:06And it fired the guys up to see me that fired up.
43:10The blue right in!
43:13Mahomes over the middle.
43:15Pass caught, Kelsey, touchdown.
43:17What's that?
43:18Mahomes.
43:19They flood the left side.
43:21Caught by Kelsey and into the end zone.
43:23Touchdown!
43:24We keep rolling.
43:25We keep rolling, love.
43:27Let's go.
43:28Let's go.
43:28Let's go.
43:29Let's fucking go.
43:31Pass it!
43:32Number one.
43:33The Mahomes.
43:34Four of them!
43:35Four of them!
43:36Four of them!
43:37He's got another!
43:38Four of them!
43:40Four of them!
43:41Four on the night!
43:42Travis Kelsey yet again!
43:45That's all I'm talking about!
43:47That's all I'm fucking talking about!
43:49I'm fucking talking about, baby!
43:50Getting down 17-0, you guys could have kind of folded and quit.
43:54The guys responded.
43:55They came back.
43:55We won a game.
43:56It's going to build that grit and that toughness that I think we'll need as we get to the later
44:00part of the season.
44:02That is going to do it.
44:05After five games in this season, the Chiefs are four and one.
44:10Hey.
44:12You know I love you, dog.
44:13I love you, Gary.
44:14You're fucking balling.
44:18Me and Crosby were, like, about to fight.
44:22He kept kind of doing it, and, like, I was, like, most of the linemen, like, they'll try
44:24to, like, get in your head by, like, touching you all the time.
44:26Bro, I threw a ball, and then I sat there for a second, and then, like, five seconds later,
44:29he came up and just jabbed me in the arm, like, punched me hard.
44:32And I just go, hey, bro.
44:34I go, hey.
44:35I was like, no, no.
44:36I was like, yeah, yeah, don't.
44:37I understand something, but, hey.
44:39The next play I threw a touchdown, I was like, all right.
44:42I'm here.
44:43I am here.
44:51This is the best way to finish a hard day's work, Cooper.
44:57You built a good fire, Coop.
45:01The win today doesn't change what happened Monday night in Philadelphia, but emotionally,
45:07you feel like more is right with the world.
45:11I was pretty calm most of the game until the very end, and I ended up putting in my worship
45:18music at the end for the last minute, because I was just feeling so overwhelmed and, like,
45:23just needed to calm down.
45:26Oh, he said he didn't want to get up.
45:29Burned a hole in my sweatshirt.
45:31That's my favorite sweatshirt.
45:32No way.
45:34Shoot.
45:34Oh, no.
45:35Daddy's on fire.
45:36Look.
45:36Dad likes that sweatshirt, too.
45:38This will be my bonfire sweatshirt.
45:45It was such a good play design and such a good play call to the throw to KJ that I
45:52missed.
45:54Man, when you miss ones like that, it just, it eats at you.
46:00I'm still on a quest to try to figure out how do I fulfill my potential as a player and
46:04a person while not driving myself crazy with the standard I'm asking.
46:10It can be a miserable place to live because you're never going to be perfect, and when
46:14you set that as your standard, you kind of set yourself up for failure.
46:20We still have to build the crib.
46:22Yep.
46:23First and foremost, you have to be self-critical.
46:26What can I do better in this situation?
46:27What can I do better in this scenario?
46:30So that when it does arise again, I'll be prepared, and I'll go out there and make the
46:34right play.
46:35It's going to be so much more than that.
46:37You know what I messed up, though?
46:40I cut back on that run.
46:41I thought I was going to be, I could have really scored.
46:43I went to the slide, and I was like, wait, I could have scored, bro.
46:48After the game, I always think about the plays that I miss.
46:53Win or lose.
46:54I can win a game and have great stats, but you go back to those plays, and you're like,
46:58man, if I would have just made that throw at that moment, it could have been even better.
47:02You're always going to look at the positives and enjoy those.
47:05You mess with the wrong dude, and I threw a touchdown the next play.
47:08But I think looking at the negatives and figuring out ways to be better on those,
47:14learning from those are going to make you great.
47:23The goal is the Super Bowl.
47:24You have to maximize every opportunity.
47:27Why short the cousin right?
47:29The Vikings are attempting the greatest comeback in history.
47:33I'm getting frustrated.
47:34I remember questioning leaving.
47:38It's getting spicy in here.
47:39I've asked myself a lot, why do I put myself through this?
47:42I don't think I've been a part of a lot of games.
47:44This game has the two best quarterbacks in the NFL.
47:47Hell yeah!
47:48That's what we needed!
47:49This has been the most amazing two minutes of football.
47:53Did you call that on your own?
47:55Yeah, I was going to call a timeout.
47:56Let's talk about this Marcus Mariota situation.
47:59I'm just sitting at the hospital waiting for the call.
48:02I can't say I've ever heard of this.
48:04I thought I was making a good decision for everybody.
48:06You do all you do, OTAs, training camp, regular season, four, and playoffs.
48:09I mean, that's what it's all about.
48:10I think we match up better versus the Bills, but I want to play the Bengals.
48:13I'm excited for this, but you guys are making it sound like we're going to a funeral.
48:16They are the best of the best.
48:19Unbelievable.
48:20Mahomes is hurt.
48:21I'm going to take you out of here.
48:22No!
48:23Fuck no!
48:52Let's go!
49:04Let's go!
49:30Let's go!
50:21Let's go!
50:50Let's go!
50:51Let's go!
50:54Let's go!
50:54Let's go!
50:56Let's go!
50:57Let's go!
50:58Let's go!
50:58Let's go!
50:59Let's go!
50:59Let's go!
51:00Let's go!
