23 April - National morning forecast presented by Clare Nasir.
Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning chilly but
00:04we're seeing some warm sunshine come through as we head through the day. High
00:09pressure remains towards the north of the country allowing for settled
00:13conditions but of a squeeze on the isobars further south and southwest
00:16hence the reason why it was so windy yesterday and certainly a brisk breeze
00:20as we head through the next few days gradually easing through into Friday. For
00:25the time being there's more clouds along this eastern strip of Scotland certainly
00:29inland across England further west clearer skies a touch of frost to start
00:34the day a mix of sunshine and patchy cloud for Northern Ireland a similar
00:37situation for Wales notice this breeze coming in from a chilly direction
00:42particularly across England and Wales extending towards Northern Ireland a
00:46lighter wind across Scotland there and again as I said a rather cold start to
00:51the day with some isolated frost and through the morning this low cloud which
00:56originated from the North Sea will tend to burn back and break up so for most it's
01:01blue sky and sunshine sunshine but hazy at times across Northern Ireland even so a
01:07dry day here and the wind will be a feature of the weather yet again
01:11particularly across more southern and southwestern areas but with this onshore
01:14breeze temperatures along this eastern strip struggling a little bit despite the
01:18sunshine 13 14 15 degrees Celsius inland in shelter we'll see 21 for South Wales and
01:26certainly a 17 is likely across the western side of Scotland wherever you are
01:31though it's a fine day now UV levels will be low to moderate across Scotland and
01:36Northern Ireland moderate further south so yes it's worth noting if you are out and
01:41about for any length of time during the middle part of the day so that's the
01:45picture through this afternoon through this evening and overnight there's a more of a
01:50chance of some frost particularly across central and eastern areas and with a light
01:54wind expect some low cloud if not some fog patches clearer skies across many areas starry
02:00skies at that but yet again this breeze continues towards the south and it will be rather gusty
02:06over the moors some strength to it across the south coast but a lighter wind for Northern
02:10Ireland and murky to start the day across central and eastern areas of England a frost inland across
02:16Scotland as well and further south but further west with that breeze mixing things up temperatures
02:22holding up slightly higher this low cloud and fog patches again will burn away through Friday morning
02:28and we'll have another fine day high pressure certainly dominant across the whole of the country now
02:35the wind will have some strength to it across more southern areas elsewhere a lighter breeze and with
02:41the orientation of the cell of high pressure we'll see higher temperatures along this east coast where
02:47you've lost the onshore drift inland probably 17 Celsius for Scotland 16 for Northern Ireland 18 or 19 for
02:55Wales and we could see a 20 towards the southeast of England and that pretty much sets the scene for
03:00Saturday another fine day with some lovely sunshine coming through after a chilly start but as we head
03:07into Sunday we are likely to see more in the way of cloud but still dry with some brighter skies
03:13if not
03:13some sunshine and here's your bigger picture high pressure certainly in charge winds are light wherever
03:19you are you lose the breeze in the south and southwest as well and into Sunday it looks like there's
03:24not a lot
03:25of change but certainly the composition of the atmosphere will be slightly different allowing for a bit more
