00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Friday morning, which is again very warm across central
00:06and southern areas.
00:07But a couple of things happening through the next 48 hours, which will allow for the feel of the weather
00:12to change across most parts of the country.
00:15Through today, we will see a few showers weaken as they push southwards, hanging on to lighter breezes, a ridge
00:21of high pressure across England and Wales.
00:23But notice this system coming in. This is an active weather front. We've been talking about it all week.
00:29And it will push southwards as we head through Friday and into Saturday.
00:34In fact, this back edge here bringing some fresher air, also some stronger winds into Saturday as this low pressure
00:40just tracks towards the north of the UK.
00:43So expect some rain, particularly across the north, patchy further south and then some scattered showers on Sunday.
00:50The north westerly wind making things feel rather fresh before we see more rain across more northern areas on Monday.
00:57We return to sunshine elsewhere.
00:59For the time being, here's that weak weather front introducing some showery bursts for western Scotland.
01:05One or two also for the far north of Northern Ireland.
01:08A mix of cloud and sunshine first thing this morning.
01:11Warm sunshine at that and notice the cloud breaking up across England and Wales through the day.
01:16Even eastern Scotland, southern Scotland seeing some fine weather and these showers tending to fizzle out by around lunchtime.
01:22We do hang on to one or two showery bursts across Orkney as well as Shetland and notice a brisk
01:27breeze coming in across western Scotland, clipping the far north of Northern Ireland as well.
01:33But some brighter breaks here, some sunshine coming through, making it feel fine and warm as we head through the
01:39afternoon.
01:39Very warm across more southern areas. Look at these temperatures yet again coming in, the high 20s and the mid
01:4520s across northern England.
01:47Pleasantly warm for Northern Ireland, 22 here, 23 for central eastern areas of Scotland.
01:53The central belt probably 20 or 21, but further west exposed to the breeze, more clouds.
01:58We're seeing the high teens and notice here's some rain just arriving later on this afternoon and into evening time
02:04across the far northwest of Scotland.
02:06So that's the picture through this afternoon. A pleasant evening to come across many areas, but this rain will gather
02:12and edge its way southwards through Friday evening, this evening and overnight.
02:18Turning a bit showery as we head into the early hours of Saturday morning and then fizzling out yet again
02:23as it hits that ridge of high pressure.
02:25But at the same time, cloud and rain and strong winds will gather across more western and northern areas of
02:31Scotland.
02:31So strong winds as we start the weekend here and also outbreaks of rain.
02:36As we head into Saturday morning, more clouds across northern England, the northwest of Wales, northern Wales.
02:42Spits and spots of rain can't be ruled out, particularly over the high ground, but clearer weather further south and
02:47southeast, even one or two mist and fog patches.
02:50And it will be a warm night across these parts.
02:53Further north, a bit of a breezy start to the day, certainly windy towards the northwest there.
02:58And with that, expect some rain as we start the day on Saturday.
03:03So Saturday starts with some wet weather, some outbreaks of rain across more western and northwestern areas of Scotland.
03:10Elsewhere, it will be a dry start to the day, although a bit more cloudy across northern England.
03:16Here's that rain gathering.
03:17So some persistent bursts through the first part of the day.
03:21Certainly those strong winds extending towards Caithness, Orkney and Shetland, gusty over the hills and mountains as well.
03:27And notice edging into Northern Ireland, southern parts of Scotland, then Cumbria as we head through to probably mid-morning,
03:35late morning.
03:36We hang on to the sunshine anywhere from Yorkshire, Wales, southeastwards.
03:41And it's going to be another very warm day as temperatures rise very quickly.
03:45But through the morning into the afternoon, the cloud will continue to thicken.
03:49And certainly on the upsloats of northern England, the Cumbrian Fells and the North Pennine Hills, you are likely to
03:56see some outbreaks of rain.
03:58The rain turns patchy behind and more showery.
04:01We could see one or two showers just creeping in across Anglesea as well as Gwynedd through into the latter
04:07part of Saturday.
04:08But take a look at these temperatures.
04:10Top temperature again, probably 29 degrees Celsius, central southern parts of England.
04:15The high temperatures more focused towards more central and eastern areas of England this time on Saturday.
04:22And we hang on to some fresher air towards the west there as that cloud thickens.
04:26And this trailing front also bringing some outbreaks of rain as we head through Saturday evening across more western areas.
04:33Some showery bursts of rain.
04:35Stronger winds yet again will be across more northern and western areas.
04:39But the breeze will pick up across Irish seacoasts as well as northern England through the afternoon.
04:44So these are your temperatures.
04:46Notice it's freshening up from the northwest.
04:48And you'll notice the difference as we enter the day on Sunday.
04:52Some early rain possible, patchy rain at that, across more southern counties.
04:56A legacy of cloud here.
04:58And then a scattering of fairly light showers through Sunday as temperatures arrive probably around 19 to 25 degrees Celsius.
05:06Now on Monday, as we saw in that synoptic chart, there will be some rain arriving across western Scotland and
05:11northern Ireland.
05:12Clouds spilling ahead of it across eastern Scotland, hanging on to some brighter breaks across northern England as well as
05:18northern parts of Wales.
05:19And sunshine further south as well as southeast.
05:22But temperatures are a good four or five degrees lower than what we have been experiencing this week.
05:27So yes, that's the outlook as we head through into the weekend and also early next week.
