00:00Hello, very good day to you. The weather is definitely a lot calmer now than it
00:04was at the start of the week and it's all due to high pressure which is really
00:09going to dominate our weather for quite a while. The position of the high
00:13pressure currently is just to the east of the UK that means we're dragging in
00:17quite warm air from the south and so particularly by day temperatures are
00:21going to be well above average for the time of year. Now it is mostly dry with
00:25the high but I wanted to highlight this waving frontal system out in the west
00:29that's going to push towards the UK but it'll be blocked by that high so whilst
00:33it will bring some rain to the northwest as we go through tomorrow it's not going
00:37to reach many areas and ahead of it well it's a dry picture for many of us
00:41through this afternoon. Yes the clouds thick enough for some rain across parts
00:45of Scotland, maybe Northern Ireland, western parts of England, Wales and some
00:48southern counties could see a few spots of rain but for many of us it's staying
00:52dry and there'll be some bright sunny weather around especially towards the
00:56east towards the northwest a bit more cloud here. Now as I mentioned at the
01:01start we have that mild warm air across us and with generally light winds and some
01:05decent sunshine for many if anything it's going to feel rather warm especially for
01:10late October just worth highlighting there will be some stronger winds towards
01:14the northwest a bit breezy a bit blustery here and actually through the
01:18evening and overnight we're going to see the winds here strengthening a bit more as
01:22that waving frontal system I mentioned at the start makes its way in so that could
01:27bring some rain towards the far west of Scotland maybe the far west of Northern
01:31Ireland by the end of the night but most places will have a dry picture through the
01:36night and there will be some clear skies around light winds clear skies perfect
01:41ingredients for temperatures to take a bit of a drop particularly towards the east
01:45and southeast where we have the lightest winds it's going to be a bit of a fresh
01:49night a bit chilly in some places could even be a touch of grass frost perhaps
01:53and we need to watch out for some mist and fog developing perhaps a bit more
01:57widespread than last night locally dense particularly in prone spots such as the
02:01Vale of York for example with the fog there could be some drizzly rain at times
02:06perhaps but generally it is looking dry for many of us first thing on Friday
02:09morning now some of that mist that fog could take quite a while to clear
02:14particularly across central and eastern parts of England but eventually it should do so
02:18as we head towards the afternoon and otherwise there will be a lot of bright
02:22and sunny weather around just towards the northwest blustery here with some cloud
02:27and some rain coming in as that frontal system tries to push in across the UK
02:31but that high pressure stopping it making much progress again with the largely fine
02:36sunny weather around and those light winds for most of us and still that mild warm air
02:42across us temperatures are still above average for the time of year once more we're
02:46looking at highs quite widely in the mid possibly high teens celsius now as we head into the weekend
02:52that frontal system tries to push in a bit further but really i am only expecting a bit of rain
02:57in the
02:57far northwest otherwise it's looking largely dry and calm good news if you're planning to go trick
03:02or treating on saturday night the only thing that we do need to watch out for is the continuation of
03:07the risk of some foggy nights so that could cause some problems particularly early on in the mornings but if
03:12you want to know more about what we can expect with this weekend's weather well check out our weekend
03:17weather update which honor will be bringing to you later on i'll see you again soon bye
