00:04We have a thunderstorm warning in force across England and Wales through today.
00:08The atmosphere is primed, high humidity air, some warm air wafting northwards as well.
00:15So the atmosphere is unstable.
00:17This weather front then pushing northwards, extending from Northern Ireland, Northern England, Isle of Man, Wales down towards the southeast.
00:23And notice some brighter echoes into this morning representing some intense bursts, thunder, lightning.
00:29It's all moving northwards and then we could see showers developing in situ across more southern areas into the evening
00:35time
00:36before another weather front brings with it the chance of thundery rain into Thursday.
00:41And yet again we could see some impactful weather here, particularly if you're travelling, surface water issues, poor visibility, thunder,
00:48lightning and also hail.
00:49So some high rainfall totals as we head into Thursday across England and Wales in particular.
00:54But notice showery rain across central and eastern areas of Scotland.
00:58It pivots around, low pressure allowing it to swirl and so over 12 hours we could see in some spots
01:05up to 50 millimetres or more.
01:08As again this whole system extends northwards but notice it returns to Wales as well as the Midlands into Friday.
01:15And showery rain is likely into Friday across many areas away from the west.
01:20So through this morning if you are travelling, it is worth noting you could run into some quite heavy downpours,
01:27again thunder and lightning.
01:29Here's your warning zone here.
01:30A bit of a cloudy start across Scotland and the far north east of England.
01:34The clouds will break though, although along this eastern side we are seeing a fresh easterly wind.
01:39Showery rain coming and going across Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, northern parts of Wales, the Midlands extending towards
01:46Northern England and yes, we could see some quite lively downpours across East Anglia as it clears more southern areas.
01:53Now through the day the sun will come out across Scotland and across central and southern areas the sun also
01:59will start to shine as the cloud clears.
02:02But it will spark one or two scattered, isolated, thundery downpours as we head through the afternoon.
02:07But some drier weather around as well, particularly across that south coast there away from this warning zone.
02:14Temperatures on the high side.
02:15So we could see 26 to 28 across central and southern parts of England and Wales.
02:20Along this east coast the low 20s yet again with some warm sunshine.
02:25Further west, yes around 20 to 23 Celsius.
02:28So a warm day wherever you are, temperatures certainly higher than yesterday.
02:33A bit fresher along this east coast of Scotland, north east England even so you'll see some fine conditions.
02:38Now through this evening, here's that weather front.
02:42Again it's moving its way towards Scotland so you can see some showery bursts across central and western areas, southern
02:49parts.
02:49Seeing a few showers through into the early hours of Thursday morning.
02:52And then some drier skies coming through, a quieter spell.
02:56But notice towards the south coast.
02:58Here's another weather front and it is moving its way towards England and Wales.
03:05Now yet again that thundery rain will be sporadic but you could see some heavy downpours into Thursday morning.
03:12And it is going to be a warm night, a warm and humid night across England and Wales.
03:17Warmer than the last few nights across Scotland and Northern Ireland as well.
03:22So into Thursday morning.
03:24Here's that weather front just pushing northwards.
03:27Showery bursts across western Scotland.
03:28Tending to clear through the day.
03:30A few showers possible across eastern Scotland.
03:32Now the sun will come out as we head through into morning time.
03:37The cloud is broken so some fine weather.
03:40But notice this is a slow moving band of rain.
03:42So if you are travelling through Thursday morning anywhere across England and Wales you may encounter this heavy rain.
03:50Thunder, lightning and hail.
03:52It could last for some time as well because this weather front is only slowly extending across the country.
04:00A fine start to the day for Northern Ireland, Northern England, Southern Scotland.
04:04A few showers across eastern Scotland.
04:06And some fine weather with some sunshine coming through as well as that cloud breaks up.
04:11Now this thundery rain by around lunchtime will have reached Northern England.
04:15But notice for Wales, West Wales, Northern Wales, it remains wet into the afternoon.
04:21And again watch out for some quite intense bursts through the day.
04:25Now for eastern and central parts of Scotland, some showery bursts are likely here.
04:31Drier, brighter weather further west.
04:33And we could see a few showers just migrating into Northern Ireland as we head through the afternoon.
04:38To the south of this weather front, yet again, like today, helped with a little sunshine.
04:43A scattering of showers.
04:45And again they could have a thundery element to them.
04:48But this is where we're seeing that thundery rain just pushing towards Northern England by mid-afternoon.
04:55Now temperatures through the afternoon.
04:5626 for the home counties, 25 further west and 22 across western Scotland.
05:02Into Friday, that rain pivots and continues to affect many parts as we head through the day.
05:08And then into Saturday, another low pressure system moves in and skirts northwards.
05:12Yet again we'll see some wet weather, some showers to follow, a few showers further north, but some dry skies
05:18further west.
05:19So all in all, things remain fairly unsettled through the rest of this working week and into the weekend.
05:25Here are your temperatures for Friday, probably reaching the low 20s.
05:29But some of this showery rain could turn heavy, particularly across central and eastern areas.
