00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04We have some bright skies and some chilly air this morning across central, eastern and
00:10northern areas. Further west the cloud has thickened overnight, this is that occlusion
00:14bringing with it showery rain, sporadic bursts pushing ever northeastwards through the day.
00:19And then through Tuesday evening and overnight the cloud will thicken with more persistent
00:23wet weather arriving. This morning a touch of frost particularly across central and northern
00:28eastern areas of Scotland but with some sunshine one or two showers can't be ruled out, it's
00:32mostly dry. Notice this bright weather extends across northern England down towards more southern
00:37and southeastern areas but further west the cloud has thickened overnight, the winds have
00:42picked up and so for Northern Ireland expect some rain to edge northwards the Isle of Man
00:47seeing some wet weather as well as Wales edging into the West Midlands through the morning central
00:52southern parts of England as well as the west country. And this wind will be significant
00:56towards the west so a stronger breeze coming up from the west country Irish coast towards
01:01the North Channel. So despite a chilly start further north and east you'll see some brighter
01:07weather through the morning. This rain here will reach say Liverpool Bay by around mid morning
01:13and then the southwest of Scotland by late morning. Through lunch time the rain would have arrived
01:19across the central belt of Scotland, northern England, the Midlands seeing some and further southwest.
01:24Yes that strong wind continuing to feed in the cloud and showery rain. Notice we hang on to some
01:31fine weather for east Yorkshire down towards Essex and Kent. Also for Caithness, Sutherland,
01:39Aberdeenshire as well as Orkney and Shetland and the Outer Hebrides seeing some fine conditions but
01:45a wind will pick up here and eventually you'll see some cloud and also some showery bursts. So we watch
01:51as
01:51the rain progresses north eastwards. It's really showery so it will come and go and some places
01:57won't see very much at all. In fact in the sunshine towards the southeast we could see temperatures
02:02coming in around 17 degrees Celsius and after a chilly start across the north and northeast of Scotland
02:0810 to 12 but a pleasant afternoon to come here. Notice though more wet weather gathering towards the
02:14southwest so some wet weather through evening time across the southwest of England as well as Wales
02:21causing perhaps a few problems on the roads with that stronger wind. Through evening time then we watch
02:27as this rain gathers some momentum it becomes more coherent as it pushes again north eastwards. So
02:34some wet weather overnight we'll see some strong winds but we hang on to that much drier clearer weather
02:41until the early hours of Wednesday morning across the northeast of Scotland. A much different feel to
02:47things if you're stepping out on Wednesday morning relative to this morning. Temperatures will be on the
02:53mild side it will be wetter with some brisk winds. Through the morning then we watch as this rain
02:59continues pushing northwards. It's going to be a showery start to the day across many areas as we see
03:06these weather fronts making progress northeastwards. In between the warm front and the cold front we'll see
03:12some drier skies feeling pleasant actually if you catch any sunshine as the first batch of rain arrives
03:19across Shetland and this more heavier pulse and band of rain across Northern Ireland reaches western
03:25parts of Scotland, Wales and the west country through the afternoon. Temperatures in between this is warm
03:31sector conditions we could see as 17 but then further west with further showers for Northern Ireland
03:36only around 13 degrees Celsius and again the wind will be a feature of the weather. So that's the picture
03:42through Wednesday afternoon. Through Wednesday evening and overnight all of this is again pushing
03:48north eastwards. We'll find those showers which will be heavy at times again extending across the
03:54country with a strong wind. Low pressure never too far away through the latter part of the week.
04:01And notice this next system comes in after a slight ridge on Thursday evening and overnight
04:05bringing with it further wet weather and also those keen winds. Temperatures not bad it will feel warm in
04:12any sunshine but certainly wet weather never too far away. Wherever you are have a lovely Tuesday and I'll see
04:19you again soon.
