00:00Hello there, good evening. The weather will be turning gloomier the closer we get to Halloween with some foggy mornings
00:07on the card.
00:08Certainly a very different picture to the stormy weather we had earlier in the week.
00:12Now in through this evening, remaining mostly dry for many areas, though there are going to be some spots of
00:17rain in places.
00:18Scotland, Wales, some southern coastal counties may still get a spot of rain overnight.
00:22But for most, remaining dry, quite a lot of cloud pushing into the west and also a fair amount of
00:28mist and fog moving into eastern areas as well.
00:30Parts of Lancashire, East Anglia, South East England, most at threat of seeing quite a gloomy start to Thursday.
00:36Towards the northwest, though, still rather breezy here, so some spots of rain, some cloud, but mostly safe away from
00:42any fog.
00:44So first thing on Thursday, a little bit gloomy in some areas.
00:47Even in the west, there could be some low cloud, eventually brightening up through the course of the morning.
00:52And for most, it should be a dry, settled Thursday.
00:55There are some showers here and there, mostly towards southern areas of Scotland, perhaps parts of Wales.
01:00Southern counties, once again, just about catching the odd shower or two.
01:03But for most, remaining dry, more of a southerly wind, and that helps temperatures stay up to around the mid
01:09-teens.
01:09And it should be a slightly milder day across Northern Ireland and areas of Scotland.
01:14Now through the course of the evening, we're likely to see more clear skies to develop, still fairly light winds.
01:20So a slightly higher chance of seeing slightly more widespread mist and fog.
01:24That's away from the very far northwest, though.
01:27Still rather breezy here and eventually some outbreaks of rain, just pushing into some coasts of Northern Ireland and through
01:32into the Western Isles as well, first thing on Friday.
01:35Mostly dry elsewhere with some mist and fog and perhaps some low cloud, creating quite drizzly conditions as well.
01:41So slightly chillier first thing on Friday.
01:45Most towns and cities holding up around 7 to 9 degrees Celsius across much of England and Wales.
01:50A touch higher towards the north, where it's a bit breezier, and there's some spells of rain.
01:54But under any clear skies and any rural spots, likely feeling a touch chillier.
01:59Now on Friday at south, once the mist and fog gradually clears through the morning, in some prone spots, it
02:04could linger for a time.
02:05But once it does clear, it should be another dry day, plenty of sunshine, perhaps some fairly blue skies in
02:11some areas of England and Wales later on into the afternoon.
02:14But it is a very different story towards the northwest.
02:17We do have a front which almost stalls towards the northwest there, which could bring some quite persistent rain for
02:22western areas of Scotland and gradually some rain moving in from the west towards Northern Ireland.
02:27Still fairly breezy there as well.
02:29And a bit of a breeze, perhaps a bit more than recent days, around some western coasts of Wales and
02:33some western coasts of England.
02:35Fairly similar temperatures, though, mostly in the high teens, perhaps pushing into 16, maybe 17 degrees towards the far south,
02:41where we'll see the best of the sunshine.
02:44Now that front continues to stall towards the northwest.
02:47It's all because it's bumping up against that area of high pressure towards the east, so it doesn't really move
02:52anywhere.
02:53So that means Friday and through on Saturday, which of course is Halloween, it looks like it's going to remain
02:58quite wet for many areas towards the northwest.
03:00But elsewhere, high pressure is holding on, so remaining quite dry for much of England and Wales to start the
03:06weekend.
