00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Today will feel warmer than yesterday, in fact increasingly humid from the south.
00:09We have high pressure sitting towards the northeast of the country, low pressure just brewing some showery bursts towards the
00:15southwest.
00:17And all of this wet weather, albeit sporadic, will push northwards through the next few days,
00:21with further spells of thundery rain just developing and again migrating northwards as we head through the middle to the
00:28latter part of the week.
00:29And some of this could be relatively impactful relative to the last two or so months which have been very
00:35dry across England and Wales.
00:37Dryest conditions through the latter part of the week will be western Scotland and a fine start to the day
00:42here this morning with some lovely sunshine coming through.
00:45A little more cloud across border regions, northern England, one or two very light fleeting showers in the breeze and
00:51that breeze coming in from the east.
00:52Now we'll see some sunshine across much of England and Wales, a bit of patchy cloud across northern England.
00:57And notice towards the southwest we're seeing some high-based showers.
01:02So you could see spits and spots of rain in the wind and they will continue to develop as we
01:08head through today.
01:09So this brisk breeze will be a feature of the weather, particularly along the east coast.
01:13Now further west in Shelter, it's going to feel warm in that sunshine and warm across much of England and
01:18Wales, as well as Northern Ireland.
01:20It will be a settled start here with some sunshine coming through.
01:24Notice through the morning this sherry rain attempts to push northwards very slowly.
01:29So you could see some rain towards the far southwest of Wales and some showers towards the west country.
01:36Temperatures then were higher than yesterday, coming in 25-26 across England and Wales.
01:41A little fresher along this east coast with that brisk easterly wind.
01:45Inland though, we could see 2021 across Northern Ireland, western and southwestern parts of Scotland.
01:51And a fine day to come across most parts with some late sunshine to end this afternoon.
01:56Through this afternoon and into evening time though, notice this area of cloud with some rain gradually moves from the
02:04Republic of Ireland and slowly pushes in across Northern Ireland.
02:08It will come and go. A little rain also for northern parts of Wales, perhaps the Midlands.
02:13And then notice towards the latter part of the night into Wednesday morning, some more showery bursts likely to develop
02:19across the south coast.
02:21Now overnight, things will feel more humid and temperatures will be higher than last night.
02:26So holding around 16, 17 perhaps across England and Wales and even across the glens of Scotland where we've seen
02:33low single figures.
02:34Temperatures won't be as low, but still a chilly start under some clearer skies here, milder across the coastline.
02:40Into tomorrow morning then, well let's pick up on some fine weather across the northwest.
02:45Also, eastern count is not doing too bad at all, but this is the weather front here.
02:48It's moving very slowly and erratically northwards.
02:52So expect some showery rain across Northern Ireland.
02:54The risk of thunder and towards the southeast, yet again, some sporadic bursts are likely.
03:00It will come and go through the day.
03:02A few showers could break out across Northern England and southern parts of Scotland, but for many towards the north,
03:07it's a dry day with sunny spells.
03:10And even where we're seeing that showery rain, it will come and go.
03:13So some fine weather coming through, but more showers developing further south.
03:18Temperatures then are through the afternoon, 25, 26 across England and Wales.
03:22And as that showery rain dies out across Northern Ireland, you should see some warm conditions, 20 or 21.
03:29We could see a 22 across eastern areas, western areas, should I say, of Scotland.
03:33Further east, probably 18 to 20 with that onshore breeze.
03:37A similar situation for Northumberland down towards Tyne and Weir.
03:41A fine day though across Orkney as well as Shetland with some sunshine.
03:45So that's Wednesday afternoon.
03:47The progression of more showery rain develops and moves northwards.
03:51Again, the risk of some heavy downpours into Thursday across England and Wales and even further north for a time.
03:57But further west, we'll see some quieter conditions with low pressure sitting across the North Sea.
04:02So yes, we could see some impactful downpours as we head through into the latter part of the week and
04:08more rain moving in as we head into the weekend.
04:11It will come and go, certainly the weather turns a bit more mobile through the next few days.
04:16So here's your outlook through Thursday.
04:19The risk of that thundry rain, particularly across England and Wales.
04:22Further north, yes, the chance of some showers towards the east of Scotland.
04:26Many areas further west though, seeing some drier conditions and also some warm air.
04:31But it turns very warm across more southern areas, temperatures reaching the high 20s in places.
04:37So that's the picture on Thursday.
04:39As we head through Friday, it's a similar situation.
04:42Stay tuned to the forecast and we'll keep you posted on all our social media channels.
04:46Have a lovely day.
