00:00dane brugler just tweeting this out in the last 30 minutes here uh he was asked about
00:05jordan tyson and he said teams think jordan tyson is going top 13 don't think he falls
00:11his read tyson has a better chance to be wide receiver one than wide receiver three which
00:17would put him back to where we initially thought he was uh so many months ago yeah we were just
00:21like yeah he's obviously the best from a talent perspective he's the best wide receiver that's
00:25there it's just how much can you withstand some of the injury conversation i'm i genuinely do not know
00:31how cap or how browns fans would react if jordan tyson was the pick at six i will one i
00:36think
00:36there'd be excitement because of the tyson brothers thing i think that's the saving part of this whole
00:40conversation is that no one except for you and me have talked about tyson in any sort of positive way
00:45locally at all or at least it feels that way if somebody has i'm sorry but like at least it
00:49feels
00:49that way to me but if they took tyson the stories around the tyson brothers both being here i think
00:55it'll be enough to get cabs and browns fans mainly browns fans excited though i it's it's weird
00:59because it shouldn't be the case it shouldn't be the case yeah i mean like he's it's so funny
01:03earlier when we were talking about this and i was like i think he's the best wide receiver
01:07in the draft we had somebody say oh makai lemon has a higher ceiling it's like i would disagree i
01:13disagree completely yeah i mean he's legitimately he's a taller stefan diggs yeah like the talent is
01:18insane and it's so funny like i almost think even calling stefan diggs him a version of stefan
01:24diggs isn't fair because stefan diggs was a chucklehead which is why i win the fifth round
01:28as opposed to the first round i'm just talking on the field is all i'm talking about but uh
01:32like i just like i'm very comfortable with tater tyson and i'm i'm getting to the point where
01:38if we're if if we're going for need so that so i'm just i'm drilled down to i can either
01:44draft a
01:44wide receiver or an offensive lineman i don't see how you don't go wide receiver at at six or in
01:51a
01:51trade down at nine or twelve wherever you go yeah and then just figure the tackle stuff out later or
01:56figure you know literally any other position out later yeah no i'm with you i but i i do keep
02:01thinking about and this is where tate comes in the idea that uh it is it's not a guarantee nothing's
02:06a
02:06guarantee but you take a you take a player like that from ohio state with the history he's got
02:10you're not going to end up losing in that pick like that's going to be that's a very safe pick
02:14but i
02:14think it's going to be one that would pay out well and i was thinking in between the break
02:17like if i had just for this upcoming season that's not how the nfl draft works because you're drafting
02:22these guys out for a long time after that but if it's just for this upcoming season if i knew
02:27i
02:27needed production from a wide receiver and i was trying to save my job in the process with winning
02:31a lot of games i i would i would take tate and not even think about it uh tyson's risk
02:36is there
02:37but i just i don't think andrew barry is going to shy away from the risk yeah i i think
02:42if listen
02:43if you're worried about risk and all that i i do understand that it's a valid conversation
02:48i think you got to figure out three years from now who's the guy that can have a jsn type
02:52impact
02:53on your team and i think it's jordan tyson well why is this and i agree with you uh but
02:58we earlier we talked about like guys that maybe had problems uh leading into the draft and then
03:03andrew barry went with anyway right greg newsome go look it up greg newsome missed a lot of games
03:08based off of injury uh two out of the three years he missed the majority uh and then the obviously
03:12he got injured the big 10 title game as well like the red flags were there from an injury
03:16perspective jok jok didn't miss many games but jok had that big heart problem and that heart issue
03:21that's a lot of a lot of the reason why people thought that he fell to the second round the
03:25way
03:25that he did and andrew barry took him anyway they took both those guys anyway with the idea that he
03:29was going to risk it did andrew barry learn anything from that or is this just in andrew barry's dna
03:34to say if i like a player i'm not going to let the injuries get in the way and stop
03:38me well i mean
03:39with greg newsome he didn't fail because injuries he failed because i i think he's a little undersized
03:44and he wanted to prove he's an outside corner and he's not i think he's i think he's a nickel
03:49corner
03:49and i think that's what last year proved right no but it was more about the idea that he he
03:53didn't
03:54ignore but he definitely well no he ignored ignored the idea that everyone was telling him at
03:57northwestern about the injury issues with greg which i think my point was like so like if you've if
04:03you've gone through i'm saying he felt comfortable enough to to go ahead and say that's not going to let
04:07me get in the way and i think given the fact that the heart issue isn't what cost jok the
04:12second half
04:12of his career and injuries weren't why greg didn't get a second contract here i feel like you would
04:18still think those were successes at least from the injury perspective so you think that would almost
04:21then give him i i'm generally we're just talking this out in real time does that give him then like
04:25the boost to be like i took chances on these two guys with their histories for certain reasons and
04:31it's not why either one is on the team anymore i mean i i don't think they should dissuade you
04:35from
04:35from making that pick and now the day also started with adam shefter and again it was just a news
04:41dump
04:41uh albert unloaded the clip on his draft intel mcshay did uh i know uh shefty did oh my gosh
04:50i'm already
04:50forgetting like two or three other names it felt like we got deluged with uh with kind of insider
04:56intel for the draft uh adam shefter though uh saying the browns are already taking calls about the number
05:02six pick and sources said they're open to moving it i think the sources are america at this point
05:08yeah like everybody knows and uh it is interesting like anytime that anything happens with a team
05:16where they're not in total power position because you're not with a number six pick there are five
05:21guys or five moves that have to be made before you get to your spot anytime any nfl gm seems
05:27to be
05:28this hey i'm open for business you would be foolish not to kind of go okay what's really at the
05:35heart of
05:35this do they really want to trade down because you're almost being too obvious yeah at that point
05:39you almost are uh yeah it's interesting i just wonder if they think like at 11 12 13 they can
05:46get
05:46the same thing they would get at number six anyway or something comparable something similar and i think
05:50maybe that's what's kind of guiding themselves here maybe that's why so many people are thinking
05:53offensive linemen because you can get a guy of similar value or someone that is uh in the right
05:58ballpark and maybe even the guy you want at six at 10 11 12 13 yeah i mean i i
06:03think i think it stands
06:04to reason that there's a level like it's so funny like uh arizona one of the other big things in
06:10arizona excuse me philadelphia one of the other big things that uh shefter had sent out was that the
06:16eagles could be uh making more trades than anything just a.j brown related because the
06:23the big thing to start the day was a.j brown will be a patriot is that they just got
06:27to wait till
06:27june 2nd right but basically uh shefter went on to say the league saying howie roseman league
06:35sources saying howie roseman is plotting a a deal to make on draft weekend and my whole thought was
06:41well wouldn't that like if you're thinking of hey i'm gonna lose a.j brown here i'm i'm likely
06:47going to get a 20 27 first in return for a.j brown if you're the eagles wouldn't you want
06:53to
06:53replace a.j brown this offseason and wouldn't the simplest way to do that is to call your old friend
06:58andrew barry talk about the number six pick and offer your own 2027 first rounder so in the end
07:04you get to take jordan tyson or carnell tate the browns move down to 23 they get two picks still
07:12in
07:12the first round and andrew barry gets his desired 2027 first rounder as well so in this i want to
07:20make sure i follow this right in this we're we're getting a.j brown no no no a.j brown's
07:24still going
07:24to new england okay for the 2027 first round that's where you lost me all right so the browns go
07:29from
07:29i was thinking about greg newsom's injury history throughout his nfl career and i was just getting
07:32all right go ahead uh but the browns go from six to 23 and pick up the eagles 2027 first
07:40six and 23 and then we get the eagles 2027 first yes so the idea here is if you're the
07:47browns
07:48you're already looking forward to 2027 the eagles don't really lose anything because they turn
07:53a.j brown into uh jordan tyson or carnell tate yeah and all they really do is pick swap in
08:00the first
08:00round i gotta think about it i think i think if the whole point listen i
08:08i'd rather just take jordan tyson or carnell tate yeah but if the whole point is you're setting up
08:14for 2027 i don't feel comfortable going into 2027 with one first round pick in a team that i think
08:21is better than one of the five worst teams in the nfl i think you're going to need extra munitions
08:27and i think this is if that means i got to go to pick 23 i'm comfortable doing that even
08:33if i nick
08:34wilson would rather just stick at six and take tater tyson so but wouldn't the wouldn't the 2027
08:38pick being like the back end of the first round or is that different yeah i mean if it's the
08:43eagles
08:43pick yeah so like i mean i just because then you're you're you're counting together our whatever our
08:49first ends up being and then also that 23 24 25 26 27 whatever that is i would probably rather
08:55just
08:56take the wide receiver right now and get them on the rookie deal i mean like here's the thing though
08:59one it could be you know the eagles are not i think destined to be a great team next year
09:05i think that defensive line is not what it was obviously losing aj brown is going to matter
09:10i'm not i like i i this isn't like jacksonville where we were just damn sure we were going to
09:15get another top 10 pick this year i i don't think it's fait accompli it would be the back half
09:21of the
09:21first round so there is like a gamble you're taking but even even so if it's the 23rd pick next
09:26year
09:28you can use that plus this the 10th pick next year to get up into the top three to try
09:33and get
09:33your quarterback where they might be on board with it is the idea that if they're not actually trying
09:37to win for this upcoming season if they're just trying to like get us to next year to make the
09:41timelines all match with the quarterback then a move like this would make sense because it's because
09:45then it would just be all about trying to make sure everything's loaded for 2027 and so like from
09:49that perspective yeah like the goal is not to win games in 2026 then yeah hunting in the first round
09:55with that number six overall is probably the smart idea i think if the reports are true and again i
10:00think it makes sense if the browns in 2027 if they're really looking for as many picks as they
10:05can get in that draft to try and make a run at a quarterback if they don't get the the
10:09the number
10:10one pick or number two pick or number three pick in earnest i think i think trading down from six
10:15makes sense and i don't really think there's a limit to how far you can trade down and i even
10:18think
10:19pick 24 like a double trade down i think makes sense it's tough to sell now it's tough to get
10:25excited about and it's not something that i'm sitting here really embracing because i i want
10:31to see what you can do in 2026 but at least would be concurrent with the idea of we're going
10:36to get
10:36the quarterback no matter what in 2027 that would at least feel like a direction even the direction is
10:42hurry up and wait yeah i mean well i i mean i think a lot of this is already committed
10:45to that and
10:46so like if that again if that's your big grand thought the idea that in 2027 we're getting the
10:50quarterback and that's when we're going to really go off and you would think anything that would
10:54almost add to this team right now would be a hindrance and again it's part of their equation
10:59they have to think about these type of things and so if adding uh tyson or adding tate pushes you
11:04from
11:04a four win five win team whatever that is to a six or seven win team then yeah they gotta
11:09they gotta
11:10look at this and they gotta think about if they're stacking the deck the right way patrick in hudson
11:13welcome to the show hey guys what's going on not much buddy what you got for patrick
11:19nothing hey nick dude i like you dude but i want to say uh that trade proposal is horrible
11:25there was a guy back in the day named sashi brown that used to try to go stack picks for
11:30next year
11:30and we saw what happened to him i just want to say i don't know why we're so obsessed with
11:35next
11:35year's draft we said the same thing last year about this upcoming draft that we're going to have
11:39drew all or arch manning or uh nussmeyer or club nick none of those guys panned out i don't know
11:45why we're so obsessed with next year and real quick patrick jp and i really aren't i think it's
11:53andrew barry that seems to be obsessed with getting the quarterback in 2027 we want to try and win for
11:582026 all the moves that he's set up right now suggest that he's the one that's focused on 2027
12:04well he hasn't done any moves yet he's still that's the point though that's that's kind of the
12:07point but just my point is for your trade proposal we moved down three spots last year and got a
12:15first
12:15round pick you want to move down 17 yeah and then you would take a first round pick it's it's
12:20a
12:20different year though that like this is where the six pick does so those the three spots like for
12:26instance if you if you in kansas city make a trade the common thought is you might be able to
12:31get a
12:31third round pick to move three spots this year what's different about last year than this year
12:36why did we get a first last year for moving three and we would get a first for moving 17
12:40one you were the number two pick and this year the number six and i would say the quality of
12:44draft and
12:45the blue chip prospects nowhere close to the same and in fact it's why i saw daryl tweeting on it
12:49like
12:49friday or whatever it was about like uh oh we just if we just copy and paste what the browns
12:53got with
12:54the jags trade it's like no it doesn't work that way like it's a completely different draft it's got
13:01a copy and paste would you had called travis hunter a blue chip prospect you think travis
13:05hunter was worth the first a year ago he was well that's my exact point so how do you say
13:11that there's
13:11no blue chip prospects when you don't know how these guys are going to turn out when we thought
13:16you had a blue chip prospect and travis last year last year last year he was that's different than
13:20this year's draft people still people still think he has an incredibly high ceiling even if i never
13:25bought into the unicorn shtick i understand that but you're you're you're already writing off players
13:31that could be awesome players just like you're calling a guy a blue chip prospect that was that
13:36is currently not a blue chip prospect you can't call travis hunter i just i don't want to sell the
13:43farm when you can get a good one at six patrick we got a boogie now if you uh just
13:48just to be fair
13:49i'd stay and take jordan tyson or carnell tate but i think if you're saying i'll trade down to 12
13:56i don't in this draft like once you get past pick 10 i don't see a big difference between pick
14:0112 and
14:02pick 23 and if the difference between going to 12 or 23 is a future first rounder and the whole
14:09goal
14:09is to get the quarterback in 2027 you might you there's a you can't just bank on the fact you're
14:14going to be bad enough to get one of the top three picks this next year and in the process
14:17of it
14:18lets them have a you do you have a lesser team for this upcoming year which again if you're going
14:22for 2027 that's what their goal is their goal would be to surround themselves with not a bunch
14:28of talent and uh and win five games
