00:00Hi there. After a grey and damp Thursday in the north, a brighter Thursday in the south,
00:06Friday flips things. Brightest skies will be in the north. Grey and damp weather will persist
00:12in the south. Because of this frontal system, effectively, it's toppling its way south-eastwards
00:18overnight. And initially, it is continuing to bring thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain to the
00:23north and west of the UK. Those outbreaks of rain most persistent across western Scotland and
00:27Northern Ireland initially. But as the night progresses, the focus for rain will push into
00:32the north and west of England, parts of Wales, staying clear of East Anglia and the south-east
00:36for the time being. Overnight, it's going to remain dry in these areas. A few cloud breaks,
00:41at least at first, will lead to a touch of frost in one or two spots. But for many areas,
00:47because
00:47of the breeze, because of the cloud, it's frost-free. Northern Scotland, Northern Ireland, clearer skies
00:52by dawn, albeit with some showers pushing into the north of Scotland. And again, a frost
00:57in some sheltered spots away from the breeze and those showers. But we start off Friday
01:04with a marked contrast across England and Wales compared with how Thursday began. A lot more
01:08cloud, outbreaks of rain tending to persist in many places through the morning, becoming
01:14more confined to the south and the east of England by the afternoon. A brisk breeze accompanying
01:19those outbreaks of rain. But they're going to be on and off. Not particularly heavy or
01:23prolonged, but a damp feel. Nevertheless, lots of cloud in the sky. Brighter for Northern
01:29England, North Wales into the afternoon and largely dry in these areas. While Scotland and
01:35Northern Ireland in a very different regime, frequent showers arriving during the day, gusty
01:40winds coming from the west and north-west will bring colder air with some flakes of snow
01:45over higher parts of Northern Scotland. Feeling cold in that wind, 8 Celsius, but feeling several
01:52degrees lower than that. Whilst in the south, we're in the double figures. So technically,
01:56yeah, it's a little bit milder compared to the last couple of days. But obviously with the
02:00thicker cloud and those outbreaks, rain not feeling particularly pleasant. Now, the rain does
02:05clear away on Friday evening. Clear spells for many parts of England and Wales follow. But
02:10further frequent showers or even longer spells of rain move in from the north-west overnight. And
02:15it will be lowering the snow level as well. So higher parts of Northern Ireland, the Pennines,
02:22Scotland seeing snow showers, hail and sleet at lower levels. Clearer skies, the Midlands,
02:28East Anglia and the South East. Touch of frost to begin things on Saturday. But bright weather
02:34first thing. And in the south, not many showers at first. But we did have this feature moving south,
02:39bringing a mix of rain, sleet, hill, snow as it clears through. It does clear to scattered showers
02:45and sunny spells. Gusty and cold winds blow from the north-north-west, sending in further showers.
02:53And those showers will be coming in with hail and thunder in places. Sleet and snow mix in,
02:57especially over northern hills. Rain at lower levels. But all in all, a very mixed and changeable day.
03:04Dodge the showers, get some bright weather. Out of the wind, not too unpleasant. But that wind will feel
03:09cold. Highs of 10 Celsius. Sunday, well, it's back to weather fronts coming in from the west.
03:16More patchy rain at times. So we're on this oscillation at the moment, typical of the time of year,
03:22of course. And all the comings and goings, I should say, on our YouTube channel.
