00:00Hi there, it certainly felt like winter has returned, but through the rest of the day
00:05today, there'll be less of a cold wind in many places as a ridge of high pressure topples
00:12in, followed by this weak weather front which is already thickening up the cloud across
00:18much of Scotland and Northern Ireland and bringing largely light to moderate outbreaks
00:23of rain.
00:23It's been more persistent across western parts but on and off elsewhere as this weather
00:29front pushes the rain into eastern Scotland, parts of Northern England, North Wales, even
00:34one or two spots of rain for South Wales into South West England with the cloud as it thickens
00:40into the afternoon.
00:41We'll keep the bright skies for the Midlands, East Anglia, the South and South East and for
00:46Shetland.
00:46Shetland keeps the cold wind but elsewhere less windy compared with Wednesday and as a result
00:53temperatures a degree or so up with the sunshine and the showers easing for the South East,
00:59it's going to be feeling a little more pleasant I suspect, not so pleasant, where we've got
01:04the cloud and outbreaks of rain moving into the North and North West, a few flakes of snow
01:09over higher parts of Scotland initially before much of this turns back to rain.
01:14And it will be rain as it moves into Northern England, much of Wales and then the Midlands
01:19by the early hours of Friday.
01:21Clearing skies for Northern Scotland, Northern Ireland, a brisk breeze blowing in some showers
01:26here.
01:27We keep the dry weather in the South East, albeit with thickening cloud through the night, although
01:33with some gaps still potentially and certainly through the first part of the night it will
01:37be another chilly night.
01:38A touch of frost in one or two spots towards the South East, otherwise largely frost free
01:42across the UK as we begin Friday.
01:45Less cold compared with Thursday morning.
01:47We do have this area of cloud and outbreaks of rain moving through central and then southern
01:52parts of the UK by the afternoon.
01:55Brighter skies for Northern England, much of Scotland and Northern Ireland also seeing some
01:58breaks in the cloud but frequent showers arrive here.
02:01Brisk winds and a colder feel once again, with hail and thunder mixed in with showers and
02:08some snow over the hills and mountains of Scotland.
02:118 Celsius in the far north, 11 to 12 further south, although not feeling that pleasant with
02:16these outbreaks of rain.
02:18They do clear south eastwards during the evening, clearer spells following from the west and
02:23the north west, but quite a number of showers drifting south as well.
02:27That really sets the scene into Saturday, it's a day of sunny spells and showers, the most
02:32frequent downpours and some longer spells of showery rain affecting north-western parts,
02:38but all areas likely to see a shower or two.
02:41In the far north, these will be lively with hail and thunder and with some snow over the
02:45hills and mountains in the cold wind, which will be coming from the north and north-west
02:50again.
02:51So 6 or 7 in the far north, 9 to 10 Celsius at best in the south, but feeling even
02:56colder
02:57than those temperatures would suggest.
03:00Into Sunday, the weather stays very changeable and we'll have much more as ever on our YouTube
03:06channel.
03:06Bye bye.
