00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office, I'm Marco Pitagno.
00:03We saw quite a murky start to the day, particularly across the south of the UK, some dense fog
00:07patches in places.
00:08As we head through the afternoon, the last of that fog is soon clearing, and there will
00:11be plenty of sunshine around across the UK as we go through the afternoon.
00:14Just one or two showers up towards the north-east mainly, fairly isolated here.
00:18And notice down towards the south and south-west a bit more of a breeze, particularly across
00:20parts of Cornwall, south-easterly breeze blowing here.
00:23The temperature is about where they should be for the time of year, peaking in the north
00:26at around 9 to 11 celsius, generally at 10 or 11 in the south, but possibly up to 13
00:31or 14 down towards the south-west, 14 in Plymouth there, and 57 in Fahrenheit, and that's actually
00:36fairly mild for this time in November.
00:38As we head into the evening and then through the overnight period, for a time we could see
00:42a few showers move up from the south onto the south coast of England there.
00:45The main talking point overnight though will be some dense fog patches forming, particularly
00:48across England and Wales, visibility is down to about 50 metres in places as we head into
00:53the early hours of Monday, a fog warning and force right through to 11 o'clock.
00:57So do take care if you're heading out and about overnight, some pretty murky conditions
01:01as we head into the early hours of Monday.
01:04Further north and north-west a generally clearer picture, a few showers up towards the north
01:08and east of Scotland and one or two coming in across the east and north-east of Northern
01:11Ireland, but on the whole it's the north-west of the UK, seeing the clearest skies, patches
01:15of fog and some frost around, and certainly patchy frost up and down the country in some
01:19rural areas, temperatures down into low single figures, perhaps locally down just below
01:23freezing, giving a patchy air frost across the north of the UK.
01:28So as we head into the start of the new working week then, it's going to be pretty murky across
01:31the south of the UK, some dense fog as I say across parts of England and Wales, that's
01:35slowly lifting as we go through the morning, and then on the whole a pretty good day to
01:39come, fog and frost also clearing elsewhere to leave plenty of sunshine as we head into
01:42the afternoon.
01:43Just one or two showers again up towards the north-east, but again fairly fleeting and well
01:47scattered here, so on the whole a pretty decent afternoon to come.
01:50And temperatures similar to Sunday, peaking in the north at 8 to 11 Celsius, up to 10
01:55or 11 in the south there, but again towards the south-west, slightly milder air, south
02:00to easterly breeze here, peaking temperatures up to about 13 or 14 Celsius.
02:04As we head through the evening on Monday, we'll start to see some outbreaks of rain moving
02:08in across the south-west of the UK, and that sets the scene for the next few days actually.
02:12Things turning more unsettled across England and Wales, we'll see some wet and locally quite
02:16windy weather moving in across many southern parts of the UK.
02:19Whereas towards the north, it stays clearer and colder, and that colder weather will
02:23then actually start to push its way southwards across the UK later on in the week.
02:26So some changes ahead, but that's pretty much it from me for now.
