00:00Hello, good morning. Well, Sunday promises to be a sunnier day to come for many of us.
00:05However, there's a lot of fog around first thing this morning and some of that fog is particularly dense,
00:11especially across parts of the Midlands, Wales and central southern England where we do have a warning in place.
00:16And some of that fog will probably linger actually on into this afternoon, particularly in river valleys where it might
00:21not even clear, in fact, all day long.
00:23But for most of us, the sunshine will break through and by this afternoon, many parts of Wales and southern
00:28England will have some lengthy spells of sunshine.
00:31It'll also be a much brighter day across northern Ireland and western Scotland compared to yesterday with some sunny spells
00:37here, just the odd shower perhaps in coastal regions.
00:40But eastern Scotland and northeast England, well, here the cloud will remain probably quite thick and there'll be some bits
00:45and pieces of light rain and drizzle perhaps at times too.
00:48So feeling fairly chilly where the cloud doesn't clear, 9 or 10 degrees perhaps will be our best temperatures in
00:54the northeast.
00:55And where the fog doesn't clear, it will also remain pretty chilly too.
00:58But for most, highs of 10 to 14 degrees Celsius by this afternoon and with light winds, that won't feel
01:04too bad.
01:06But the fog will quite quickly form once again as we go through the course of this evening where skies
01:10are clear, more especially in the south,
01:13but perhaps overnight tonight a bit further north compared to last night.
01:16So parts of the Vale of York, for example, central and eastern Scotland and also northern Ireland, more prone to
01:22seeing fog compared to last night.
01:24But there will be quite a lot of dense fog and poor visibilities around by the time we get to
01:28Monday morning.
01:29And it will turn into a rather cold night for many of us.
01:32Temperatures in the countryside perhaps falling down to, well, minus three or minus four in some of the prone spots,
01:37but widely the low single figures even in some of our towns and cities.
01:42Probably staying just about fog and frost free there across the very far southwest.
01:47And here notice some rain just creeping in two parts of the Isles of Scilly in the west of Cornwall.
01:51And here the winds will be freshening too.
01:53So a breezy day to come for parts of southwest England, for example, on Monday compared to today,
01:58but also be quite bright at times.
02:01Otherwise, the fog only very slowly clearing through Monday morning
02:04and probably lingering on into the afternoon for some prone areas too.
02:08But outside of those areas of fog, we are set for another dry day.
02:11And actually, there'll be a fair amount of sunshine by the afternoon,
02:15more especially across Scotland and some eastern parts of the UK
02:18where we'll hold on to largely cloud-free conditions.
02:21Temperatures, though, after that chilly start, a little bit below par for the time of year.
02:25Only eight or nine degrees Celsius for many and possibly even lower than that where the fog doesn't clear.
02:31But notice down across the very far southwest, 13 or 14 degrees.
02:34And that's a sign of things to come as some slightly milder air tries to push in as we go
02:38towards Tuesday.
02:40And we are going to see a slightly more unsettled picture set up as we go towards Tuesday and Wednesday.
02:45And southern areas will actually see some welcome rain by the middle of the week.
