03:15Boy, the place got mad.
03:18Go.
03:20Go.
03:23Go.
03:24Go.
03:25Go.
03:25Go.
03:26Go.
03:27Good evening, children.
03:29I'm in Tobago.
03:29And those of you who are locked on globally,
03:31this is Beyond The Tape.
03:32My host for all this week.
03:34And we're at the end of a working week.
03:36And many persons have been anticipating, of course,
03:39the end of this week because it was one where persons were really excited to get some rest
03:45after that carnival season, that week of persons jamming on the road nonstop,
03:51but you're able to rest.
03:52And, of course, we're going to keep you all in the know of things
03:54and how things are going moving forward with the crime situation in the country,
03:57along with the TTPS.
03:59And to help us with that, it's Friday.
04:01We have ASP Russell here with us this evening.
04:05ASP Russell, good evening to you.
04:07Good evening, Ms. Husbands.
04:08And good evening, Trayla and Tobago.
04:10And to our viewers of the Caribbean on behalf of our Commissioner of Police,
04:14our Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners,
04:16and First and Second Division Officers of the esteemed Trayla and Tobago Police Service.
04:22So, you are going to let us know a little bit more what's taking place with the TTPS.
04:26As I understand, on the 20th, Friday the 20th of February,
04:31we saw that there was an incident that took place in the Felicity area.
04:34What is the case with that?
04:36So, let me share some information.
04:38Based on information received members of the Central Division,
04:42the Gang Unit, CID, and the Operations Unit,
04:46went to the Riverside Marina Kakande Road facility.
04:50Based on information received members,
04:52we want to thank the public for the information that they shared.
04:56Whilst there, they observed a white Kia 2700 pickup
05:05parked between two boats,
05:08and it aroused the suspicion of the officers.
05:11And guess what?
05:13They did what was necessary.
05:16And a search of the vehicle revealed
05:19a very large quantity of creepy marijuana
05:24in several corkers bags.
05:28That is defined.
05:29The weight and the value is yet to be ascertained.
05:32But once we get the weight,
05:34we'll be able to put a street value to it.
05:35So, we must get the weight first.
05:36But due to the quantity,
05:38and we know it only happened around 2 p.m. today,
05:40so by the time we have the CSI come to the scene
05:43to analyze the scene,
05:45to test the fingerprints and stuff like that,
05:47it will take some time.
05:48So, as soon as we get the actual weight
05:50and the street value,
05:51we will have the information readily at hand
05:54to disseminate to the public.
05:55But let me tell you something.
05:57I want to commend all those officers
06:01who were involved in that operation.
06:04And it just goes to show,
06:06and we just came out of Carnival, eh?
06:07So, it goes to show the relentless pursuit
06:10of a Trinidad and Tobago police service
06:11to make every place in Trinidad and Tobago
06:13a safe place in keeping with the vision.
06:15It shows that we would not stop,
06:17whether it be SOE or outside of an SOE.
06:20Yes.
06:21We will continue to work diligently
06:25and continue to show that level of commitment
06:28with respect to our jobs
06:29and making our country safe.
06:31ASP, Creepy Marijuana, is what exactly?
06:34Is it that it just creeped into the shores of Trinidad and Tobago?
06:38What is the name about?
06:39Is it a special type of marijuana?
06:42Is it a brand?
06:43What is it?
06:44Well, I will tell you this.
06:45Different cartels, they brand their stuff.
06:47Oh, okay.
06:48This is more or less a brand.
06:50You know, I've seen different brands.
06:52I used to work on organized crime and narcotics
06:55in the early days before it changed
06:57to organized crime, narcotics, and fire and bureau.
06:59So, most of the time, it's branding.
07:01So, every cartel, every drug team or organization
07:05have their brand.
07:06So, Creepy is just the brand that is used by that organization.
07:09Well, we've seen a lot of it creeping in
07:11to the shores of Trinidad and Tobago.
07:13So, it seems like it is the brand of choice
07:15in Trinidad and Tobago.
07:16And the nice thing about it is that
07:18when the public has been made aware
07:21of it creeping in
07:23is because it is in the possession of who?
07:25The police.
07:26We would have removed steam
07:28from hitting the streets of Trinidad and Tobago.
07:30Well, a job well done once again.
07:32ASP and the TTPS for making sure that,
07:34you know, these drugs are off the streets
07:37and making sure persons are safe.
07:38Now, we have to go and give another recap
07:40of what took place for the Carnival season
07:42with the TTPS.
07:43And I want you all to take a look at this.
07:52Carnival 2026 is now part of our history,
07:55a celebration of culture, creativity,
07:58and national pride.
07:59For months leading up to the greatest show on earth,
08:03the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service,
08:06alongside our partner agencies,
08:08engaged in meticulous planning
08:10and intense preparation
08:12to ensure that once again in 2026,
08:16it would also be the safest show on earth.
08:19We were put through our paces,
08:21dotting every I and crossing every T.
08:24Every operational detail was scrutinized.
08:27Every deployment carefully coordinated.
08:30Our canine unit stood ready.
08:33Our mounted branch trained extensively
08:35to prepare for the sights
08:37and the sounds of the season.
08:39Our newest recruits joined seasoned officers
08:42on the front line.
08:44Together, they formed a blanket of safety
08:46and security across parade routes,
08:49event venues, roadways, borders, and communities.
08:53We strengthened partnerships.
08:55We shared vital intelligence.
08:57We listened to feedback from stakeholders.
09:00And we built a robust, intelligence-led,
09:04security framework designed to prevent crime,
09:07maintain order, protect every patron,
09:10and preserve our rich culture.
09:14As Carnival 2026 comes to a close,
09:19I extend my heartfelt gratitude
09:21to every police officer
09:24who stepped forward and gave of their time,
09:28energy, and expertise
09:29to secure the success of what we call
09:33the greatest show on earth.
09:35I extend my sincere appreciation
09:38to the people of Trinidad and Tobago
09:40for your partnership,
09:42your discipline,
09:43and your trust in the TTPS.
09:45As the Merry Monarch took to the streets
09:48from Juve Morning Street into La Slap,
09:50our operational posture remained strong.
09:53Under the festive shield,
09:55secure the VIBES framework.
09:57Officers across every division
09:59worked tirelessly to safeguard lives,
10:02preserve order,
10:03and ensure that every band,
10:05every community,
10:07and every reveler
10:08could enjoy the freedom and creativity
10:11that define our national festival.
10:14I commend every officer
10:16for their dedication,
10:17endurance,
10:18and commitment to the high standards
10:20we continue to institutionalize
10:23across the service.
10:24To the members of the public
10:25who cooperated with our advisories,
10:28respected our officers,
10:30and looked out for one another,
10:31Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
10:35Public safety is a shared responsibility,
10:38and your actions help to preserve
10:40the joy and integrity of Carnival.
10:44To our media partners,
10:46we also give you recognition
10:48for your professionalism
10:49and your commitment
10:50to amplifying our safety messaging.
10:53Your role in national communication
10:56remains invaluable.
10:58Carnival 2026 stands
11:00as a testament
11:01to preparation,
11:03partnership,
11:04and the evolving strength
11:05of the TTPS.
11:07As we turn our focus
11:08to Carnival 2026...
11:11All right,
11:12so ASP, Russell,
11:13we saw, of course,
11:14the police commissioner
11:15and, of course,
11:16the goal commander
11:16who was there present
11:18for the Carnival season,
11:19and that was a recap.
11:22Your thoughts?
11:23Let me tell you something.
11:24What we would have witnessed there
11:25is leadership at its best.
11:29You would have seen
11:30the heads of the organization
11:31lead by example
11:32and out there
11:34with the other members
11:35of the service
11:36and it made me smile
11:39and I want to continue
11:41and say,
11:42and I thank them yesterday,
11:43but I want to thank
11:45most importantly
11:46God for keeping us
11:47because there were no incidents
11:49that had any officers injured
11:51and they had arrests.
11:54We had a lot of different things
11:55that officers had to attend to
11:57and the good Lord kept us
11:58and brought us back safely.
12:00So first of all,
12:01we want to thank God
12:01for having a successful,
12:02safe Carnival
12:03and, you know,
12:05to the commissioner,
12:06to the deputy commissioner,
12:08Ms. Susan Martin,
12:09goal commander,
12:11to the alternate goal commander,
12:12Mr. Sean Henry,
12:14assistant commissioner,
12:15assistant commissioner,
12:17specialized support,
12:18Mr. Sudin.
12:19I mean,
12:20everybody came together.
12:22We would have had persons
12:22from all over municipal.
12:25We want to thank
12:26the traffic wardens.
12:28We want to thank
12:29the licensing officers.
12:31We want to thank
12:31municipal police officers,
12:33the special reserve,
12:34the guard and emergency,
12:35the ITFs,
12:36the CID,
12:37the constable in the charge room
12:39that came to work
12:41to poke out everybody.
12:43We want to thank
12:43the members of the defense force
12:45who accompanied us as well.
12:46The TNTech persons
12:47who were on standby
12:49in case an electricity poll
12:51came down.
12:52The TSTT,
12:54the mobile and the TSTT personnel,
12:56the digital personnel
12:57to make sure
12:58that the communications remained.
13:00or they were also on standby
13:01in case a line
13:02was pulled along as well.
13:03So there are a lot
13:04of stakeholders
13:05that come together
13:05to make Hannibal a success.
13:07Hence the reason
13:07you would have heard
13:08the commissioner say,
13:10we start the plan
13:11for 2027
13:13very, very soon.
13:14But you know
13:15who I want to thank the most?
13:17The public.
13:19Because for the most part,
13:20they behave themselves.
13:21They listen.
13:23They behave responsibly.
13:25And when the public
13:26behaves responsibly,
13:27it makes our job easier.
13:29Yeah.
13:30So I want to say
13:30a thank you
13:32to the members.
13:32Give us a wrong,
13:33you have to give us
13:33a wrong double plus.
13:34Yes, a wrong double plus.
13:36To the members of the public.
13:38And you know,
13:38this is the partnership
13:39we want to look forward to
13:40going forward.
13:41I mean,
13:41we want to even build on that
13:43and improve
13:43and come together
13:44and make it closer
13:45where a year would come
13:48where there would be
13:49no incidents.
13:50That's the aim.
13:51We're aiming for zero incidents
13:53for the next carnival.
13:54Now there's something special
13:55that I want you to take a look at,
13:56especially with the public.
13:57We'll go back to the video
13:58and take a look at this.
13:59Your role in national communication
14:01remains invaluable.
14:04Carnival 2026 stands
14:06as a testament
14:07to preparation,
14:09partnership,
14:09and the evolving strength
14:11of the TTPS.
14:12As we turn our focus
14:14to Carnival 2027,
14:16we do so
14:17with renewed determination
14:18to enhance our capabilities,
14:21deepen our partnerships,
14:22and continue delivering
14:24a policing service
14:26worthy of the nation we serve.
14:30We remain resolute
14:32in our mission
14:32to protect the vibes
14:33and secure the future.
15:01protect the vibes
15:03and secure the future,
15:04the words of the police.
15:05Commissioner Alistair Guevara.
15:07And I love the ending there
15:08where he was saying that.
15:09And all we have to do
15:10is really try our best
15:11to work together
15:12with each other.
15:13And I think that is
15:14the ultimate goal
15:15at the end of the day,
15:16SB.
15:16Yeah, definitely.
15:17It is indeed.
15:18Securing the vibes,
15:19as we say.
15:20We came out there
15:21and we did secure the vibes.
15:24It was really,
15:25really successful.
15:26And, you know,
15:26when we behave ourselves
15:28and the public,
15:28that is too,
15:29and they listen
15:30and they obey
15:31and, you know,
15:32we work together,
15:33it shows the country
15:34in a very positive way,
15:36even on an international stage.
15:39Because Carnival,
15:40which we call
15:41the greatest show on earth,
15:43attracts so much
15:44international attention
15:47with respect to,
15:48and you look at
15:49the foreign exchange
15:50and all these other things.
15:51You know,
15:51there's a lot of business
15:52that we gain from Carnival
15:54and exporting Carnival
15:55throughout the world.
15:56And there have been
15:57some other security apparatus
15:59throughout the world
16:00who would have come
16:01to Trinidad
16:02just to see how we manage
16:04that crowd
16:05for those two days,
16:07you know.
16:07So we are happy
16:07that persons had a good time.
16:09Persons would have returned
16:10to their country safely.
16:13And we want to see.
16:14We continue.
16:15Don't think that we're
16:16going to sleep.
16:16Well, please don't.
16:18We don't want that at all.
16:19You would have seen.
16:19I still want to see
16:20officers almost
16:21on every other corner.
16:22I still want to see that.
16:23I want to see
16:23heavy foot patrol.
16:25I want to see
16:25police vehicles
16:26patrolling nonstop.
16:28I want to see those lights.
16:29I want to see it
16:30like as a big truck
16:32on the road
16:32for Carnival again.
16:33I don't want that
16:34to stop at all.
16:35Well, let me tell you this.
16:36From where I stand,
16:37I want to see it too.
16:38But I want to show
16:38out a challenge
16:39to you and the public.
16:40Let me hear this.
16:41That on the occasions
16:43where you don't see us,
16:45that you,
16:46Miss Husbands,
16:47and the public,
16:47be our eyes on our ears.
16:49All right,
16:49we'll try our best.
16:50Let's remember,
16:51we are not trained.
16:51But let's head to Tobago.
16:52Let's see what took place
16:53in Tobago.
17:08My name is Amaya Alexander
17:11and I'm from Moriah
17:13and I feel safe.
17:16Okay, my turn.

17:19I'm her identical twin.
17:21I'm not a couple of guys.
17:22Anyways, I live in Moriah
17:25and I felt safe.
17:28Very safe.
17:30Because you guys.
17:35Hello there.
17:36I'm Stefan from Sweden
17:38and I enjoyed this time,
17:40especially the Carnival
17:42here in Tobago.
17:43and I was waiting for the bus
17:46and the bus stop
17:47and everybody was happy.
17:50Happiness is Tobago.
17:53Cannibal, Tobago,
17:54cannibal is safe.
17:55The police do what they do.
17:57Safe, safe.
17:59Loving you, everybody.
18:01I love the Carnival.
18:03I love it.
18:04Love it.
18:05Love it.
18:05Love it.
18:07And I think the police
18:09is doing a wonderful job.
18:11Very, very, very good.
18:13Wonderful.
18:14Good night.
18:15So, my name is Kulan,
18:16currently in Tobago.
18:18Enjoying the little festivities.
18:20You know,
18:21feeling very safe.
18:22A lot of police present.
18:24A lot, a lot of police present.
18:25Everywhere I turn is a police.
18:27So, you know,
18:29feel comfortable.
18:30I have to just walk the streets
18:31and you have to be fearful.
18:33It's perfect.
18:34We're staying here
18:35in Charlottesville
18:36with our sailing boat.
18:37Yeah, we are so happy.
18:40So friendly people here.
18:42It's so great, man.
18:44Yeah.
18:44We enjoy it.
18:45My name is Raymond.
18:47I'm originally from China,
18:48but I live in Tobago
18:49for the past 20-something years.
18:51What I love about it
18:52is that there's no battles
18:53on the ground,
18:54no war,
18:55and we hardly had any
18:56little violence,
18:57little wind.
18:59This carnival was
19:01stress-free
19:02and violence
19:03pre-carnival sofa.
19:08Residents and tourists
19:09right in our beautiful
19:10sister isle, Tobago,
19:12and feeling very comfortable
19:13even though, you know,
19:14Tobago gets the best
19:15of both worlds
19:16because they get
19:16the carnival in this period
19:18and, of course,
19:19October,
19:19which is a big
19:20Tobago carnival
19:21that many persons
19:21also flying to
19:23and that was an
19:23incident-free
19:25carnival of 2025.
19:27So we're happy to see
19:28that going into 2026 ASP.
19:30Well, they recognize
19:30that we have
19:32the solution
19:34for carnival
19:34when it comes
19:35to keeping
19:35the public safe.
19:37So, you know,
19:37we stand by ready
19:38and it would have
19:39heard the public
19:39how pleased they were
19:40with the performance
19:41of the police.
19:43And we can't do it
19:44without the other
19:45stakeholders
19:45or the help
19:46and we are not
19:47by no means
19:49reducing or minimizing
19:50the efforts
19:51by the others
19:52who work with us
19:52side by side.
19:53We continue to commend them,
19:55we continue to appreciate them
19:57and we continue to ask
19:58for their support
19:59going forward.
19:59Yeah, so we hope
20:00that we see that
20:01moving forward as well
20:02coming out of the
20:03carnival season.
20:04Right now, we take a look

21:16This, ITIS.
21:18But what does ITIS really mean?
21:20The suffix, ITIS, denotes inflammation
21:23of a specified organ or tissue.
21:26ITIS really means inflammation.
21:28How do we combat chronic inflammation?
21:30Through lifestyle changes.
21:32Then, and only then,
21:33make sure you're getting enough
21:35Mega 3 fatty acids.
21:36Always consult a qualified medical professional

23:26If you're not joining us,
23:26I have ASP Russell here with us,
23:28my co-host,
23:29as we continue some of the issues
23:31that we're being faced with
23:32and persons who are in love
23:34and seeking love
23:35and really trying to find that person
23:38to share moments with.
23:40Sometimes you really have to be careful.
23:41And the reason why we're saying
23:42that we got our media release
23:44from the TTPS dating app meetup
23:46turns into robbery suspect arrested.
23:48Now, Northeastern Division officers
23:50arrested a 20-year-old man
23:52following a robbery with violence incident,
23:55which occurred in the San Juan district yesterday.
23:57Reports indicate that around 6.30 p.m.
24:00on Thursday, the 19th of February, 2026,
24:03a man was at the corner of 3rd Avenue
24:06and Eastern Mnode Bar, Tara,
24:07where he met a man
24:09who he had connected with
24:11a few days earlier
24:12via an online dating application.
24:15The two proceeded north along 3rd Avenue
24:17to Mission Road Extension, San Juan,
24:19where the victim observed
24:21two other men standing
24:22at the side of the roadway.
24:24Upon reaching the area,
24:25the three men announced a robbery
24:27with one suspect armed with a firearm.
24:30The assailants relieved the victim
24:32of two cellular phones and cash
24:34with a total value of 1,869.
24:37During the incident,
24:38the victim was physically assaulted
24:40and pushed against a galvanized fence
24:43before the three suspects escaped on foot.
24:46Now, officers of the San Juan police station
24:48responded promptly
24:50while conducting inquiries in the district.
24:53Officers observed a man
24:55fitting the description
24:55of one of the suspects.
24:57The suspect was promptly arrested
24:59and conveyed to the San Juan police station
25:01and further inquiries
25:02continued investigations ongoing
25:06as officers continue inquiring
25:07to identify and apprehend
25:09the other suspects involved.
25:11ASP.
25:12Well, first of all,
25:13let me say the good work
25:14of the police officers
25:15let the suspect being into custody.
25:18Yes.
25:19Being taken into custody
25:21in a very short time.
25:24But, you know,
25:25I come on this program
25:27and other programs as well
25:29and we would have cautioned persons
25:31about these dating apps
25:32and going to meet these people
25:35in places that you do not know.
25:37we ask that you meet
25:39in the vicinity of a police station
25:41or even in the police station
25:43the DDD charge
25:44you may be at the lobby area
25:45of the police station
25:46or somewhere that
25:47even if something happens
25:49you can identify
25:50or alert the police officers
25:53quickly and they could,
25:54you know,
25:55come to your rescue.
25:56Too many times
25:58we have seen persons
25:59falling victim
26:00to this dating app situation.
26:05you know,
26:05we don't want to really,
26:07I mean,
26:08yes,
26:08we had a problem
26:08with the marketplace
26:09and others.
26:10But people want to be loved.
26:11You know,
26:12and I understand
26:12people want to be loved
26:14but, you know,
26:16when you take that risk
26:17to find that love
26:18you know,
26:18you have to ask yourself
26:19maybe we need to go back
26:20to the traditional means.
26:21The old school way, right?
26:22The old school way
26:24of dating
26:24and, you know,
26:25you'll meet
26:26on your exchange numbers
26:27but I'm asking persons
26:28so please be careful,
26:31please be careful.
26:32Even if you're going
26:33to meet somebody
26:33for the first thing
26:34you can probably
26:35have somebody accompany you.
26:36Yeah.
26:37Have somebody go with you
26:38so that, you know,
26:39somebody could say,
26:40well, all right,
26:41it's cool,
26:42it's safe.
26:42Or meeting up
26:43in a space
26:44where like a restaurant
26:45that you can sit and eat.
26:47I mean,
26:47why go to meet
26:48on the streets?
26:48Yeah.
26:49And that's a good idea.
26:50Meet in a restaurant.
26:52I mean,
26:52there's so many public places
26:54that you can go
26:55to meet somebody.
26:56You can meet in the mall
26:57and stuff like that
26:58rather than go to these places
26:59in the night
27:00and the times
27:00that we see
27:01these things
27:02are taking place.
27:03You know,
27:03when you're trying
27:04to date somebody,
27:05you must be alert,
27:08you must be vigilant,
27:09you must be thinking
27:09if this person
27:10only want to meet you
27:11very late in the night
27:13in an area unknown to you.
27:14I mean,
27:15you have to start
27:16to ask yourself
27:17and a lot of the times
27:19we do get the vibe
27:20or the feeling
27:21or my spirit
27:23tell me something.
27:24You know,
27:24this thing is here.
27:24Don't ignore it.
27:25Yeah,
27:26do not ignore it.
27:27Go with your gut feeling,
27:28ask a question.
27:30If you could even
27:30call the station,
27:31sir,
27:31I'm supposed to meet somebody
27:33in a particular area.
27:34What kind of area is it?
27:36And they could tell you,
27:37you know,
27:37no,
27:37that is areas that kind of,
27:38you know,
27:39we would tell you.
27:40All we want
27:41is for you to be safe
27:44and to live
27:44an enjoyable
27:45and safe life.
27:46So we would do
27:47whatever we could do
27:47but we are asking you
27:49to be responsible.
27:50We are asking you
27:51to be wise,
27:52use some wisdom,
27:54do your analysis
27:54and make informed decisions.
27:58And that is why
27:59the TTPS is taking
28:00this initiative
28:00moving forward
28:01as they realize
28:03that persons
28:03are being caught
28:04in this web
28:05where persons
28:06are really looking
28:06for love
28:07and not just
28:07in love
28:08in the wrong places
28:09but also persons
28:10who are looking
28:10for good deals
28:11in the wrong places.
28:12So with that being said,
28:14the TTPS
28:14is officially
28:15going to launch

30:33what we want to benefit
30:35from the most

30:41our total cessation
30:44of these incidents.
30:46Well said.

32:43age vibrantly.
33:51Yeah, good evening to the officer.
33:53Good evening to you, sir.
33:55Good evening, sir.
33:56With respect to the creepy drugs that were seen, I did not hear that anyone was arrested.
34:03So my question is, why wasn't the surveillance exercise conducted to the person or persons responsible that have also been
34:13arrested and have a successful operation?
34:17I will listen off you.
34:19Thank you, sir.
34:20Valid point.
34:22I will tell you something, eh?
34:25Well, the resources that we have, we don't have infinite resources.
34:31Yes, surveillance was paid, but we could only do surveillance for so long.
34:38However, there are other investigative tools that we can use.
34:43For instance, it was a motor vehicle that was registered, bearing a registration number.
34:51However, we can now use the resources that license in office to find out who the owner of that vehicle
34:56is.
34:57I don't want you to give too much detail, right, ESP, with regards to how far you all go with
35:03investigations.
35:03But I believe what the caller is saying is very valid, even though the resources may be limited.
35:09The same way suspicion rules with the officers seeing the said vehicle, someone has to pick it up.
35:15So in that same way that could have been done is either you alert the same way some officers could
35:21pull up in a plane vehicle.
35:23In a plane vehicle.
35:24Or stay somewhere close by to observe because someone has to come to the vehicle.
35:29Somebody has to come to the vehicle.
35:30So that's all they're saying.
35:31I don't think it is going to take all that manpower to say you have to gather the troops to
35:35have about 50 officers.
35:37But at least if you could put things in place where you already know in certain areas, even if they
35:42decide to leave, you don't get any support.
35:44You could have officers who could be stationed at different locations to block wherever they may be driving, exit points,
35:50I'm just saying.
35:51But at least getting someone showing up would have been.
35:54All right.
35:55So I hear you, right?
35:56And there are situations, there are times where it works.
36:00And there are times where it does not work.
36:03Okay.
36:03And I can give you an example.
36:06A lot of my service was spent in doing narcotic eradication.
36:12And I remember there was one particular situation that we had.
36:16And at the end of the cliff was a 200-feet precipice.
36:24And we decided, we don't need to put anybody there because nobody could go there.
36:30Let me tell you something.
36:31When the adrenaline hits you, flight or fright, that person jumps there.
36:37And they not only jump, but jump, landed, got up, and ran towards the ocean.
36:42I will tell you something again.
36:44Situations like these, when the time persons realize or persons become spooked, they prefer leave that vehicle there because the
36:52time, the jail time that is involved for that amount of marijuana is serious jail time.
37:00Yeah.
37:01So we could have been sitting there for days.
37:03Of course, the investigation is not completed.
37:06They will be dusting the vehicle.
37:08They will do all the scientific analysis with respect to the vehicle to get fingerprints running through the system.
37:14We will find the owner.
37:15Yeah, but I think it's just that people, we see that the big bus happening and no one is standing
37:20next to say cheese.
37:22We have another caller.
37:23Caller, good evening.
37:26Hello?
37:27Hello?
37:28Hi, good evening, caller.
37:30Good evening, Mr. Spahn.
37:31How are you?
37:33Good evening, caller.
37:34Russell, good afternoon.
37:35Let me thank you all for the job boss in the corner somewhere down by the commission side down.
37:42Excellent work, excellent work, and the size of it tells me they're having some issues with people coming through.
37:49Now, I have been made aware that a number of the policemen who was involved in that included an ASP
38:03who is presently functioning in Shoburn-Out.
38:07Well, that ASP was arrested and charged, but he won his case.
38:15He was an inspector.
38:16He was in charge of assault, and he won his case, and he was promoted to ASP.
38:21And in the information in the newspaper, what he said is that senior officer, together with a number of other
38:32officers, colluded and conspired to bring charges against him.
38:37This was in the newspaper.
38:39He also said that was an advantageous against him with respect to his application for the post of the DCP.
38:48In order for the TTPS to move from an 8% intelligence and confidence level, the information that the TTPS
38:59has to provide me as an ordinary citizen was that issue, which was based on an affidavit he presented to
39:07the court, was it investigated and was it closed off?
39:11Because if that has not been closed off, and we as citizens, that will be a stain on the TTPS,
39:20you as a main media ambassador for the TTPS, that is the information I'm expecting of you.
39:28The TTPP has been very strong in promotion, but poor on product and quality, protect and serve.
39:35That is why you are getting an 8%.
39:37I will listen off here.
39:40Yes, sir.
39:43Well, the caller has said quite a lot, but what I want to tell the caller is this.
39:50He does not have all the facts, number one.
39:53And number two, the matters were brought before the court, ventilated before the court, and a pronouncement was made, following
40:03which the officer was reinstated.
40:06I say no more on that.
40:08All right.
40:08Thank you for that.
40:09We'll take a break.
40:09We'll be back.
40:36We'll be back.

43:07Call us back to the phone lines.
43:08We have a call on hold.
43:09Call her.
43:09Good evening.
43:11Hello.
43:12Good afternoon.
43:12Good evening to you, sir.
43:14We had the phone.
43:16We said good evening to you, sir.
43:18Good evening, sir.
43:19Good afternoon.
43:21Yes, go ahead.
43:25Good afternoon.
43:26Yes, listen to us.
43:27Yes, good evening, sir.
43:27You're live.
43:36Call her.
43:38Yes, good afternoon, officer.
43:40Yes, we're hearing you.
43:41Good afternoon, sir.
43:44And to the lady there, good afternoon.
43:45Good evening, Teresa.
43:47Officer, I would like to congratulate you, your other fellow officers,
43:52and other members of the other services
43:54that join you all in the exercise for the carnival that
43:58have everybody safe.
44:01But I would like to say, from since in the 60s, when I had joined the service,
44:11those preparations were actually in force.
44:15But what happened now, because of social media and the television,
44:20everything is now highlighted.
44:22But those things were in practice a long time ago.
44:27And the only difference now is that you all have better vehicles in their condition.
44:34We didn't have that.
44:34We had some jeeps.
44:35And plus, we had short pants with parties to perform the duties.
44:45But other than that, it's about the same thing.
44:46From since time immemorial, but congratulations.
44:50Thanks for keeping the citizens safe.
44:52Have a good day, sir.
44:53And thank you for your service, sir, ASP.
44:56So, well, you told us thanks, so I would tell you you're welcome.
45:00I think you all need to wear your shorts again, though.
45:03Because it's not cool, though.
45:04No, we're not really.
45:05You all should have been in the three quarters.
45:07Miss Husbands, um...
45:08You're on the beach.
45:09Not, not, not, not...
45:11Warm weather.
45:12Not everybody may have legs for short pants, number one.
45:15And number two, um, some of my officers,
45:18a lot of my officers take good care of themselves,
45:20and we don't want to distract the females out there.
45:23Oh, my gosh, give me a break.
45:24So we would keep it in our long pants.
45:26But, Paula, we thank you, and we hear that.
45:29I mean, we, Carnivala, since evolved, since in your time,
45:34you know, we have a lot more persons that partake,
45:37a lot more trucks, a lot more, a lot more international visitors.
45:42So we had to up the game and continue to evolve
45:44and continue to strategize so that we keep ahead of the time
45:48to ensure that everyone enjoys a safe carnival.
45:51But I thank you, and I hope you continue to support us.
45:54I really think you all should bring back the short pants.
45:56I'll be, again, for those of you who are now tuning in,
45:59you open our phone, 9-2-6-2-3-7-10-11,
46:02extension, 1996, and 1997.
46:05Now, I want you to take a look at this video
46:07that took place here with a young person in Digo Martin.
46:10Let's take a look at this.
46:13And this is something that is very disturbing to me
46:16because, as we know, that is a zebra-crossing crosswalk.
46:19And many persons, I believe, in Trinidad and Tobago,
46:23and it is really upsetting to watch here,
46:26do not respect that crosswalk at all
46:28or even understand how it works.
46:31And we are seeing the result of that.
46:35I will tell you something, eh?
46:37And it's something that we always see in Trinidad.
46:40Persons really don't, um...
46:43I mean, it's twofold, eh?
46:44Because there are a lot of persons
46:44who don't respect the crosswalk,
46:46and there are other persons who tell themselves,
46:48because I'm on the crosswalk, I can do what I want.
46:50Yes.
46:51Meaning the pedestrians.
46:52This happened in the pedestrian.
46:53This happened in the Western Division.
46:54I want to thank God, firstly,
46:57because the young child has sought medical attention
47:02and is now resting comfortably at home
47:06with no serious injuries.
47:07But the disturbing part about it, Ms. Husbands,
47:11is that we are asking for the public assistance
47:13in identifying the driver.
47:14Pause.
47:15The driver drove off?
47:16I would say, again, the disturbing part about it
47:19is that we are asking for the public's assistance
47:22to identify the driver of that vehicle piece.
47:25It's a white Nissan B-14.
47:28Let's watch that again, eh?
47:29I think it's a PBN-4401.
47:32Yeah, we can't get to zoom in.
47:34Remember, we don't have your toys.
47:36Yeah.
47:37Yeah, but I believe the officers may have that info,
47:40but persons who can identify the vehicle, ESP.
47:43We are asking.
47:44Yeah, we are definitely asking,
47:45because I spoke to the inspector for the station,
47:47and he told me that, you know,
47:49we're really seeking the public assistance,
47:51to identify it.
47:53And I mean, you know, how could you...
47:57Is that dog?
47:58...knock down a child on a crosswalk
48:00and don't even have the decency...
48:03To stop to come out.
48:04To stop.
48:05Trinidad and Tobago, you'll understand
48:07what we have to deal with at times in ATTPS.
48:10Yeah.
48:11So any information, please, we're asking
48:13to get some justice with regards to this.
48:16And if anyone, anything, as you said,
48:18as little as it can be, please...
48:20And someone, you know, the vehicle...
48:22Yeah.
48:22Please give that information.
48:24We have another call on the line.
48:25Caller, good evening.
48:28Hello?
48:29Hello.
48:30Good evening.
48:30You're live.
48:31Good evening, caller.
48:33Good evening.
48:34Yes.
48:34I have a good evening to the panel.
48:37I have a concert.
48:39On the highways in St. Augustine,
48:45by St. Augustine Girls School,
48:47and at Freeport,
48:49on the entrance to the northbound ramp,
48:53on evenings,
48:54there are lots of vehicles parked
48:56alongside the highway,
48:59alongside the major road.
49:02So far,
49:03I don't think there have been
49:04any major incidents or accidents,
49:07but I could see this happening,
49:09and I would just like to know
49:10if this is something the TPS allows,
49:14if it's something the schools allow,
49:16or they have some special permissions
49:17to do stuff like this,
49:18because to me,
49:20this is very dangerous,
49:22and then nobody says anything
49:23until somebody,
49:25a vehicle,
49:25loses control,
49:26crashes,
49:27injures,
49:28or kills a child,
49:31similar to what you just showed,
49:32and then it's going to be
49:34a whole different story.
49:35So that's my comment,
49:36and thank you for your time.
49:38You guys are doing a great job.
49:40Thank you, Kuala.
49:41Yes, B.
49:42I know exactly where that is.
49:44I cannot speak for Freeport,
49:46because I don't live down on that side,
49:49and I...
49:50Well, you are safe,
49:51so it's the opposite direction as well.
49:54Yes, but for St. Augustine,
49:55I do see it at times,
49:56most of the times when school is about to be...
49:59But that's the end for the day.
50:01A lot of vehicles are indeed packed on the shoulder,
50:04and there are two schools in that vicinity.
50:06There's a primary school,
50:07and then there is the St. Augustine Girls School.
50:10A preschool as well.
50:11There's a preschool as well.
50:13So, and I see it,
50:14and I understand exactly what you're saying.
50:17We will have to find some kind of alternative means.
50:20Maybe school could have the parents drive into the school
50:22and pick up,
50:24but that would cause another sort of traffic congestion.
50:26So, I guess,
50:28post-mails have to exercise a particular caution,
50:31an extra caution when approaching that area.
50:33And actually,
50:34when you look at those countries,
50:36like in the U.S. and stuff like that,
50:38you ought not to speed in that school zone.
50:41Yeah.
50:42So, post-mails...
50:43But is that really a school zone?
50:44That's not a school zone?
50:45That's on the highway?
50:46Well...
50:46That's not a school zone?
50:47I understand what it says.
50:48It's on the highway,
50:49but I'm saying that if you're approaching that,
50:51like for instance,
50:52if I am approaching a light,
50:54and I know that,
50:55like for instance,
50:56City Gate,
50:57whether the light is on green or not,
50:59I always approach that intersection with caution
51:02because, you know,
51:03somebody might be on a cell phone
51:04and they're crossing the road
51:05not paying attention.
51:07Not because you're right
51:08and you have the light on green
51:09gives you the permission to...
51:11At least they can have some sign of signage
51:13or use the wardens,
51:14the traffic wardens in that period
51:16that at least that they can give
51:18some sort of protection
51:19because, well,
51:21you'll want the parents to go.
51:22There's no...
51:23Even if they go into the street,
51:25the side street where I got my ticket,
51:27that it's still a no entry
51:28and it will cause a backlog.
51:29But we could obviously find a solution
51:31to make sure it's safety.
51:33First,
51:33and usually around that time
51:34there's a lot of traffic as well,
51:35but that doesn't mean accidents can happen.
51:37We have another caller.
51:38Caller, good evening.
51:41Hello?
51:42Hi, good evening.
51:43Good evening.
51:44Good evening, Caller.
51:45Hi, good evening.
51:46Yes,
51:47my contribution pertaining
51:48to the accident
51:50with the little child,
51:51with the child that's now.
51:52I mean,
51:53I'm not showing blame on anyone,
51:56but I have...
51:57Going up in school,
51:58I have always been taught
51:59do not cross behind a parked vehicle.
52:03And I would first blame
52:05the Matthew driver
52:07allowing the child to cross
52:08in front of him,
52:10right?
52:11And also,
52:12I knew it's a crosswalk.
52:14As I said,
52:14I'm not blaming anyone,
52:16but I grew up in school
52:18learning that
52:19you're not supposed to cross
52:22from behind a parked vehicle.
52:24In other words,
52:25a vehicle should not be
52:27blocking your vision
52:29when you're about to cross.
52:31Either you go from behind the vehicle
52:32where you can see
52:34both ways
52:35or you wait until
52:36the vehicle moves
52:37or where you have
52:38clear vision on both sides,
52:39but not while the vehicle
52:40is parked,
52:41you cross.
52:43Because somebody
52:43who's coming down
52:44to overtake
52:45wouldn't know
52:46that somebody's crossing
52:48until they reach
52:50to the point.
52:51You're supposed to slow down
52:51by the crosswalk, yes.
52:53But on an instance
52:55where reflex actions happen,
52:57it's an instant.
52:59Let's put that
52:59as an instant accident,
53:02right?
53:02Jibos wrong to leave,
53:04but as I said,
53:06my growing up in school
53:07always told me
53:08do not cross
53:09behind a parked vehicle.
53:11I think this is thing
53:12that should go back to schools.
53:15So children be taught
53:16in schools
53:16so that they would know
53:17when you're on the road,
53:19either even the parents,
53:20teach your children that.
53:22Do not cross
53:22behind a parked vehicle.
53:26And I left my number
53:27with the director
53:29so that I can speak
53:30to the officer
53:30sometime after offline.
53:33When he has a time
53:34to call me.
53:35Yeah.
53:36Thank you so much,
53:36caller.
53:37Okay.
53:37ASP.
53:38Right.
53:38So I hear the caller
53:39and the caller
53:40has a point,
53:41but I want everybody
53:43who has access
53:44to the video
53:45to look at the video again
53:47and he would recognize
53:48the distance
53:50that the child was
53:52from the maxi taxi.
53:54Yeah.
53:54The child was
53:54more or less midway.
53:56Mm-hmm.
53:57Mm-hmm.
53:57So it would have shown
53:58that somebody
53:59was not paying
54:01the proper due care
54:02and attention
54:03that is required
54:03while it's operating
54:04a motor vehicle.
54:06Yeah.
54:07Because it's not to say
54:07the child just immediately appeared.
54:11The child had already
54:12started coming
54:13across the road.
54:14So somebody paying attention.
54:17would have been able
54:18to add to the necessary adjustments.
54:20And also, I guess,
54:21to the maxi taxi
54:22and taxi drivers as well
54:24when you're letting off.
54:25Not just, you know,
54:26your passengers,
54:27especially children,
54:28that you find a way
54:29that they could safely cross
54:30if they're trying
54:31to reach the other side
54:32of a street.
54:33That I know usually
54:34they hustle and bustle,
54:35but we have to be also
54:37mindful of that as well.
54:38We have another call
54:39on the line.
54:40So let's take that call.
54:41Call a good evening.
54:43Hi.
54:43Good evening,
54:44Mr. Osborne.
54:44Good evening to you, sir.
54:45Good evening.
54:46Good evening, sir.
54:47I might just have
54:48a small comment
54:49about something
54:51pertaining to what
54:52the inspection sticker
54:53that we have to,
54:55you know,
54:56make sure and see
54:56we have updated.
54:58But apparently
54:59when we update these stickers,
55:01if we do update it,
55:02you get out.
55:03You get,
55:03well, right now,
55:04$2,000.
55:05Fine, right?
55:06But look at
55:08the condition
55:09of our roadways.
55:11Nobody paying attention
55:13to the roadways.
55:14A lot of our streets
55:15anywhere you go,
55:16Maravas,
55:17Bigom Martin,
55:18Port of Spade.
55:19Big, big, big holes.
55:21Two occasions,
55:22I had to buy new tires
55:23because rainfall
55:25and the hole's
55:25full of water
55:26and it's so sharp
55:28around the edge,
55:28your car dropping it,
55:30bang,
55:30and it's because
55:31the inside part
55:32of the tire cut.
55:33Two occasions,
55:34one in Maravas
55:34and one in Port of Spade
55:36that happens
55:36and we want to know
55:38who are just
55:39in these matters
55:40because when we do,
55:42when we do get our vehicle,
55:43all right,
55:43let's see,
55:44like before,
55:44I got a ticket
55:47just before Christmas
55:48for our updated license
55:51and sticker,
55:52right?
55:52The inspection sticker.
55:53That was $1,000,
55:54now $2,000.
55:56I went and I got my vehicle
55:57inspected,
55:58but yet silly problem
55:59still lies
56:00where all these sheets
56:02fall around.
56:02is a lot of big holes
56:04that damages our vehicles.
56:06So we get our vehicles
56:07inspected
56:09to drive on bad roads.
56:11If we don't inspect
56:12the vehicles
56:12to civilize our vehicles,
56:14road-worthy,
56:15then the roads
56:16are not worthy
56:17for us to drive on.
56:18Look at what we have
56:19to go through.
56:20And I want to commend you all
56:21and I don't partake
56:22in cannibale,
56:23but I drove around a while
56:25for cannibale
56:26doing jobs
56:27like private jobs
56:28for people.
56:29And the police
56:30did a remarkable job.
56:32They're well,
56:33well, well protected
56:34the public.
56:35I want to commend you all
56:36on that job well done.
56:38And Mr. Edmond,
56:39that one way
56:39did that by the child
56:40day like it,
56:41it's a little hard,
56:41it's a little emotional
56:42day,
56:43it's a little cry.
56:44Yeah.
56:45But thanks to you all
56:46for listening
56:48to my contribution.
56:49If you could share
56:49a bit about that,
56:50let me know
56:50what we're going on
56:51with the inspection
56:52and with the roads.
56:54Yeah.
56:54Thank you, Kolo.
56:56So, with respect
56:57to the roadways,
56:59I mean,
57:00the TPSP
57:01are not responsible
57:02for paving roads.
57:03But, I mean,
57:03this question.
57:04But, you know,
57:05we can't have
57:05the conversation.
57:07I try.
57:07You know,
57:09sometimes
57:10you pave a road
57:11this week
57:11and then next week
57:12there's a leak.
57:13And you have to dig
57:14up the same roads.
57:15But this question.
57:16Understand,
57:16I too
57:18have to drive
57:18on the same bad roads
57:19and adhere
57:20to the laws of the land
57:21with respect to making sure
57:22my vehicle is inspected
57:24and roadworthy.
57:25Yeah.
57:26So, I too
57:27face the same situation
57:28that you face.
57:30I mean,
57:30the government
57:31could only do so much
57:32and with respect
57:34to the reduced resources
57:36that they have,
57:38they try
57:39to do all
57:40that they can do.
57:41The best advice
57:42I could give, darling,
57:43is just adhere
57:44to the laws
57:45to make sure
57:46you don't get any tickets.
57:47Quickly before we go
57:48because you have
57:48a few seconds.
57:49Park in any wrong direction.
57:51I know persons
57:51are not aware.
57:53You could get
57:53a ticket for that, right?
57:55Ticket and wreck.
57:55It's $1,000.
57:56Ticket and wreck.
57:57Yes.
57:57So, let me tell you something.
57:59You ought not
58:00to park.
58:01Let me see you.
58:02The roadway
58:03is going from
58:04east to west.
58:05You are not to park
58:06with your vehicle.
58:07West to east.
58:08So, you're supposed
58:09to always park
58:10and I see it a lot.
58:12Especially
58:13on certain,
58:14like on track.
58:15Park it road.
58:15On the avenues.
58:16And on the avenues.
58:18You know,
58:18people run out
58:19to buy their lunches
58:20and stuff like that.
58:21The wrecker's
58:22going to wreck you.
58:23Even if you park
58:23on the right side
58:24of the road.
58:24So, adhere to the law,
58:25TNT.
58:26Until next week,
58:27Monday,
58:28God's Prayer Live,
58:28same time,
58:29same place.
58:30Usual program
58:30as it runs through.
58:31Have a safe
58:32and lawful weekend.
58:33News is up next.
58:34Have a blessed one,
58:36TNT.
58:36We're out.
58:37We're out.
58:40We're out.
58:42We're out.
58:43We're out.
58:53We're out.
58:55We're out.
58:56We're out.
58:56We're out.
