02:24Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago,
02:40and those of you who are locked on globally,
02:42this is Beyond The Tape.
02:43I'm your host, Whitney Husband.
02:44And just like that, the weekend is over,
02:47and we're into a brand new week.
02:48And many of us are officially starting off our month today of February,
02:53where many persons are looking to see how this month may shape up.
02:57But just as you know,
02:58the festivities that are taking place,
03:00that we're seeing outside of the effects,
03:02we saw the presence of the police commissioner,
03:05along with his executive,
03:06that was making their way throughout the different panyards,
03:09throughout the country,
03:10and making sure persons were safe and protected.
03:13And any concerns raised, of course,
03:15they will communicate that with the officers.
03:18But from what we saw,
03:19it was a successful semifinals at the Queen's Park Savannah on Sunday.
03:24What a way to jumpstart the month of February.
03:27And also, in sad news,
03:28we saw in the Port of Spain area
03:30that there was the very first murder in the month of February in that area.
03:35Of course, we will let you all know more insights on that.
03:39And of course, we are seeing how the criminals are even coming out of the SOE,
03:43where they seem to have no care,
03:46as they continue to terrorize individuals throughout the country.
03:51And we heard from social media as well,
03:53the voice of persons crying,
03:55pleading for persons to stop the unnecessary killing.
03:59The tears of mothers are constantly falling on their faces,
04:02and we are continuing with the TTPS to plead with you,
04:05as we make sure that you can find a way
04:08to deal with the crime situation moving forward.
04:10But today is Monday,
04:11and it's always a pleasure to have my co-host with me on a Monday.
04:14We have Captain Ramrod, who is here.
04:16Good evening to you, sir.
04:17And how was your weekend?
04:18Oh, it was extremely busy.
04:21Not tiring, but extremely busy weekend
04:23doing things with our team.
04:26And, you know, Brittany,
04:28I'm happy today to see...
04:31Well, first of all, let me say good evening
04:33to our viewers on Beyond the Tip
04:35and by extension TV6,
04:37and to you as well.
04:38But I'm beaming with pride today
04:40because today, five years ago,
04:43Hunter's Search and Rescue Team was formed,
04:48and today's our fifth anniversary.
04:50But as you showed that murder in Piccadilly,
04:53I want to just say this, right?
04:56Our team were in Piccadilly 2 a.m. on Sunday morning,
05:00and this is the impact these murders could have.
05:03You have a beautiful panyard there,
05:05Massey, Trinidad, All Stars, right?
05:08And you have foreigners coming in
05:10who want to go to listen to the band practice,
05:14who want to partake of the ambience there in All Stars Panyard.
05:19A beautiful place,
05:20a really, really, really nice panyard.
05:23And this is us there, and just hours after,
05:27to know that there is a murder right near the panyard in Piccadilly.
05:32I mean, you know, it impacts on tourism,
05:36it impacts on culture,
05:37and, of course, you mentioned it,
05:38it impacts on the family,
05:40where the mothers and relatives are now,
05:42you know, in mourning.
05:45And this is something that, really, we have to say,
05:48you know, it must stop to the young men
05:50in the Port of Spain's south area.
05:54There we've had not much to hear about them
05:57since last year into this year,
05:59but one murder is too many,
06:01and we don't want that type of behaviour
06:03on the streets of Trinidad and Tobago.
06:05Yes, most definitely.
06:06I totally understand where you're coming from,
06:09but also, apart from you all celebrating the big five,
06:11five years, and it seems longer, by the way.
06:15Yeah, it seems like that we've been on the scene,
06:17but it's only five years,
06:19and I'll tell you the birth about the birth.
06:21That's me there, no uniform.
06:24Is that dark hair, I'm saying?
06:25Yeah, I used to dye my hair then and stuff,
06:28because, you know, look, look,
06:29a handsome young man, right?
06:32But our team was birthed,
06:34and the fact that we joined the police service,
06:36to a search for Andrea Barrett,
06:39head of communications,
06:41now in the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
06:45Ms. Joanne Archie had called me the night before
06:48and given us the green light to go ahead and assist the police.
06:52And we've had, that started us,
06:55we decided after that search,
06:59after our body was found,
07:00to continue to help families.
07:02We knew we had a good skill,
07:04and I continue to say we are not investigators,
07:08we are not police officers,
07:09but we are great field searchers,
07:11and therefore we joined the police service,
07:14and family members when their loved ones go missing.
07:17So it has been a great run.
07:20This is Minister Homeland Security,
07:24Roger Alexander.
07:26He hosted us at the Swamp for Beyond the T-Pam T-Pin,
07:31and, you know, I always remember that day in particular,
07:34and the team has grown, as you see,
07:36is young and old and male and female.
07:41We have, you know, a good blend.
07:42We have two police officers there
07:44who supported us from the inception, right?
07:48Roger Ramcharan
07:48and Superintendent Daryl Ramdas.
07:53They have coached us from inception,
07:56and they remain with our team guiding us
07:58in every way possible.
08:00So, you know, it's been a great run so far,
08:03and we continue to build the resources within the team,
08:07and we continue to network a lot.
08:09What we did, Whitney,
08:13in order to give the viewers
08:16some sort of...
08:19Let them know what we do in one particular week.
08:22So we had a very busy week this week,
08:25and I wanted to share with them
08:27throughout the course of the program
08:30some of the activities we do.
08:33We're not only intersearching.
08:35The youth of Trinidad and Tobago needs help.
08:39We feel if we are proactive at the beginning,
08:41we don't have to go and look for anybody at the end.
08:44Correct.
08:44And our youth involvement is important.
08:47But then we train a lot,
08:48so I just want to deal with training.
08:50Yes.
08:50Sometimes, and this is just half the team
08:53that was in training on Saturday last.
08:56This training comes at a...
08:59I want to highlight Mr. Nizam Mohamed.
09:02He is from Kennecon Engineering Limited.
09:05And there's a gentleman who would assist us
09:07in finding the funds to train the team.
09:11Wilderness risk management is new to Trinidad and Tobago.
09:15He would have sourced a foreign provider
09:18to ensure that he's here,
09:21to ensure that our team engage in both classroom exercises
09:26as well as field training exercises.
09:28And here's half of the team training last Saturday
09:31down in South Trinidad
09:33and making sure that they know what they're about
09:37when they get out there.
09:38Yes, yes.
09:38Because first of all, Whitney,
09:39they have to learn to protect themselves.
09:42And then you have to protect those in whom you are...
09:46those who you support.
09:49So if sometimes relatives may come with us on a search,
09:52we have to ensure their safety.
09:54Police officers, we have to look out for them.
09:56And that is why we have to take the lead on searches
09:59because we know the environment, we understand it,
10:02we know the risks, and we know how to reduce the risks.
10:05We're very skillful in any vegetative area of Trinidad and Tobago.
10:11Now, apart from just being passionate about what you do,
10:14it's also giving more knowledge, and we're seeing that here.
10:17But what are so many sacrifices,
10:20not just you, but your members are faced with
10:22when it comes to giving your all to the country?
10:25Well, it's unique to get a gathering of people like that.
10:28These are people who have normal jobs,
10:32and they come out on their free times.
10:34Then you have persons who will shift some...
10:37some persons are self-employed,
10:39some persons are owned businesses.
10:42So they could get the free time,
10:43and then there are a few of us, like myself, who are retirees.
10:46And we carry the bulk work of the team in terms of field searches.
10:51But the young people in particular,
10:53they drive our social media platforms,
10:56our communication system,
10:58and they're all involved in doing something.
11:01So you find the work is less when everybody is involved,
11:05and I think that is what has caused us
11:07to be both effective and efficient in what we do.
11:11Now, you said you are one of the many persons, I guess,
11:14with the team that is retired.
11:16You are the lead,
11:17but what makes you want to do this, though,
11:19that drives not just you, but your team also?
11:22Well, I think you have to understand
11:24Maslow's hierarchy of needs, right?
11:27You have goals when you're young,
11:29you achieve your goals,
11:30you have had a career,
11:31where you've completed paying for your house
11:35and all your major things that you needed to get by in life.
11:39And then I think you enter that spiritual phase
11:42where you reflect and you look upon
11:45the space in which you live,
11:47and you say,
11:47what could I do to assist this space
11:51to improve itself
11:53because I have a son
11:54who has to now live in this space.
11:57And so you decide that you want to give back,
12:01and some of the guys,
12:03it's a self-maturation thing.
12:06So Whitney, you're young,
12:08but let's say as you get older
12:10and you finish achieving your goals,
12:12you might want to go and help children with reading,
12:14or you might devote your work
12:16to some sort of women's forum
12:20to highlight the awareness of women in the society.
12:24And, you know, a lot of people,
12:26we call it civil society,
12:28do a lot of work.
12:30I respect Corporal Chabody's work
12:33in the St. James Police Youth Club.
12:37We met the youths.
12:37They're really, really nice.
12:39And so there comes a time
12:41when you feel to give back
12:43to Trinidad and Tobago.
12:45Now, there was a rescue mission.
12:47Can you tell us a little bit more
12:48about what you can say?
12:49Yes, and this is why training is important.
12:53So a gentleman was riding his bicycle
12:55along the Madras,
12:58along a roadway in the Madras area,
13:00Kunupia area,
13:01and he fell and fell into a dream.
13:04We were called,
13:05and within 10 minutes,
13:06we were there.
13:07So this is our member there,
13:09Ram Nat Ram Charita,
13:10doing an assessment of the gentleman.
13:13He was immobilized at first,
13:17but because he is well trained,
13:19he was able to determine
13:21that there were no spinal injuries
13:24or broken bones.
13:26It wasn't an issue of a seizure
13:28or a stroke or a heart attack.
13:30And that what he did is that
13:32while waiting on the ambulance service,
13:35this is another of our member,
13:37Ria Sinanan,
13:38with him,
13:39they responded,
13:41and they were able to use
13:43our portable stretcher,
13:45something that we carry with us
13:47in our vehicles.
13:48And they were able to remove him
13:50from the Hudson
13:52until the medics arrived.
13:54and, you know,
13:57in moving someone,
14:00you have to train them quickly
14:01how to lift this portable stretcher,
14:03right,
14:04and get them out
14:05at a safe space
14:07so that, you know,
14:09when the medics came,
14:11they, of course,
14:12ran some diagnostics
14:14and then would have taken them
14:16to the Chaguanus Health Facility.
14:18And also,
14:19some of your members,
14:20I'm sure they are also
14:21somewhat medically trained
14:23because you have to deal
14:24like in this situation.
14:25Yeah, in wilderness training,
14:26you have to be,
14:27you have to be trained
14:29like medics.
14:30So we could offer CPR.
14:33We're well trained in that.
14:35We could,
14:36we could,
14:37we could do any bandages.
14:38We could spot heart attacks,
14:40seizures,
14:41concussions,
14:43all these type of things
14:44and know how to treat
14:45with someone
14:46and then determine,
14:48you know,
14:48what's the next step forward
14:50because this is a rescue.
14:52You have to know
14:53when to call for help,
14:54when to call for backup,
14:56when,
14:56when,
14:56when you're,
14:57you cannot handle it
14:59and you have to call
15:00in the authorities.
15:01But in this case,
15:02our members
15:04were quickly able
15:05to do a diagnostic
15:07and realize
15:08that he may have
15:09just suffered
15:10a minor bruise
15:11on his ribcage.
15:12Yes.
15:12And that was it.
15:14Now, Captain,
15:14what was one of your rescues
15:16that lives with you
15:18till this day?
15:19It has to be
15:21Janessa Murray
15:22in Irene
15:24in 2023.
15:26We got her,
15:27we got her call
15:28at 5 p.m.
15:29She was swept away.
15:30She's an autistic child,
15:32a girl,
15:33and she was swept away
15:34from the back of her home
15:35in a,
15:36in a flooded ravine.
15:37That was swift moving
15:38and we went in there,
15:41got there
15:41between 8 and 9 p.m.
15:43worked throughout the night
15:45in the cold water.
15:47We were covering
15:48the riverbed
15:48inch by inch, right?
15:49So we had formed
15:50a human chain
15:51in the river.
15:52So it's almost like
15:52you're scraping.
15:53And we're scraping
15:54inch by inch.
15:55Now, we didn't know
15:56what size Janessa was,
15:57so we had to be looking
15:58for something small as well.
16:00And we scraped the river
16:02straight down
16:02to 5 o'clock
16:03in the morning.
16:04We returned to her home
16:06for a little break
16:07of coffee.
16:07And then what happened
16:10was that my son
16:12was one of the drone techs
16:14on the team.
16:14He arrived
16:15and I took them
16:17to the mouth of the river
16:18in the Irine River
16:21where it meets the sea.
16:22We scanned the area
16:23and we found a footpath
16:25to take us up the river.
16:27And just myself
16:28and another team member,
16:29we went ahead
16:30while the team
16:31was switching,
16:32coming down.
16:33And she was there
16:35standing on the edge
16:36of the water
16:36playing with a little leaf.
16:39A lot.
16:41You could imagine that.
16:43I remember that picture.
16:44And you remember that?
16:45Yes.
16:45You remember that
16:46third picture, right?
16:47Yes.
16:48And we couldn't
16:50get service then.
16:51And I remember
16:54my teammate was holding her.
16:57I was trying to call
16:58our other members
17:01and I did get through
17:02to one of the members
17:03and I said to him,
17:05where is Janessa's
17:06mother?
17:07And he said,
17:08she's here with us.
17:10I said, listen,
17:11I want you to go
17:12quietly to her
17:13and tell her
17:15that I have her daughter
17:16and she's alive.
17:18And she was watching him
17:20take the call.
17:21She knew
17:21something
17:23that I was calling.
17:25She knew I was calling.
17:26She didn't know
17:27if it was good or bad.
17:28She told me after
17:29she thought it was bad news.
17:31And that was
17:34emotional scene
17:36that morning.
17:37But I tell you that,
17:38well, you know what I did
17:39when I got back
17:39to the house?
17:41I went to the back
17:43of the house.
17:43Well, Whitney,
17:44I think everybody
17:45in Trinidad and Tobago
17:46knows that I'm a coffee lover.
17:48So I grabbed a hot cup of coffee.
17:52I went to the back
17:53of the house alone
17:54and then tears
17:56just started to flow.
17:57I wanted that quiet moment
18:00simply because,
18:01you know,
18:02it was a spiritual moment
18:04and I thought
18:04this was God's hope.
18:06It had to be a miracle.
18:08It could be nothing
18:09less than God's hope.
18:11Just waiting for you
18:12to pick up.
18:13Typical.
18:13Yes, that's it.
18:14Today's headlines.
18:15Today's headlines.
18:43And those were
18:46some of your stories
18:47making today's headlines.
18:48We'll take a break
18:49and we'll be back with more.
18:57Well, yo, yo, yo,
18:58this is your boy, Ricky Jai.
18:59You ever late
19:00for the fat
19:01so you're mashed down
19:02on the eggs?
19:04Hmm.

21:12one second too fast could be your last on the roads of Trinidad and Tobago
21:36speeding is a deadly mistake a motorist can now be issued a $4,500 fixed penalty notice
21:44we're found exceeding a roadway's specified speed limit by 31 kilometers per hour or more
21:51the faster you go the sooner you may not reach home slow down stay alive avoid the fight
22:06remember it's very important that you slow down so you could stay alive and you could
22:17avoid the fines now if you're now joining us we have our captain here with us captain
22:22Rambarat and the four nines will be open shortly so get ready to give us a call at 623-1711
22:28extension 1996 and 1997 but at this time captain it's time for missing persons
22:34yes but before I I begin the missing persons and we want Janessa Murray I just wanted to see
22:40something on her very quietly our team continues to support Janessa she's autistic when she she was
22:49five when when that incident happened and we were able to assist her mother to get her with the school
22:54fees to ensure that she was in school and we pay her several visits for the year and we keep that
23:01relationship quiet right but she's doing exceptionally well she's like a little angel to our team right
23:10captain you have the biggest heart in the world I know that was a bit emotional for you
23:13yeah it was it was and I think viewers would have sensed that as well but for the for the month of
23:19January we would have had 28 reports of missing persons and thus far we have seven outstanding but Whitney out of the
23:29seven let me see from the onset and I have to start doing this in program is that mention who are the ones
23:37we've red flag now what red flag would mean is those are the ones who we feel some harm may have come to
23:45in terms of the not being with your with their families and and and and harm could come in various
23:53forms it could be the criminal element or it could be that by natural causes it's simple simply means
23:59that they're not coming home they have not come come they're not coming home and you read one of the
24:06reason could be that harm came to them so do you really that quickly to the families it's it's difficult to
24:12really but in terms of you know us communicating with the public in terms of less trying let's make a
24:19greater greater greater effort to look in these particular areas for this person right okay so
24:24the first person is Albert Salazar I spoke to his wife this morning he went missing he was in La
24:33Hocketa and phase seven La Hocketa by Sunday and he left to get back to Kara Kara po he has a bit of
24:42dementia not not not diagnosed but the family knows that and it seems as if he would have lost his way so
24:50you know we asking members of the public this morning I spoke to his wife and she's saying let's try the
24:56Aruka Windy Hill area so if you're in the Aruka Windy Hill area we did search Lopino we searched south of the
25:05highway from Waller field back to La Hocketa we haven't been able to find him and so if you just
25:13look outside gentlemen walk in the streets maybe holding his pants with his left arm he's barefeet
25:20did by now he may not have losses to black jersey but just keep looking for him right and if you have
25:27information if you spot him just call us at seven nine nine one four five three or any one of those
25:34police stations in the zone La Hocketa Arima Aruka police station yes and then we have um still outstanding
25:44we have Jerome Joseph Lalji now he has not been seen as I um Jerome has been bordering on on being at home
25:53and living a homeless life but his brother has not seen him since the first of November and he's
26:00particularly worried we don't know if he migrated to keep any homeless state another district maybe
26:08port of spain and whenever we import a spin we go look for him as well as others who may be missing
26:16and who may his his mental state as well as compromise right so and then we have um
26:25yeah Keisha Sipersad we work in closely with the police officers in the both west end and um
26:32four roads police station to try and locate Keisha Sipersad but if members of the public can assist us
26:38please call either of those two police stations or seven nine nine one four five three and then we have
26:46still outstanding is Cindy Jagannath um Cindy uh is is someone we know from from who went missing on
26:57previous occasions and um she has gone again so if you're from the Valencia district or you spot her
27:04anywhere in Trinidad and Tobago just call 999-555 or our team at 799-1453 and then we have um right so
27:17Melissa Garcia her mental health is compromised and she has been missing since the 25th of January
27:24from the Borneo area and we've made no um headway we check all the hospitals and all the medical
27:31institutions for her we've not been successful so she should be somewhere in that Borneo area if you
27:40have information call the Aruka police station or 799-1453 and then we have another person here Mark
27:48Daniel Parks uh Mark also with the his mental health is compromised but
27:56uh only for a few times for the year he's uh uh he has a youtube channel he sings lovely calypso
28:06he's he's of the sandy grande area we have been a few sightings but whenever our members of their check
28:12we've not been able to find him so we asking the folks in the sandy grande district he's moving around
28:19so you and you are familiar with Mark so if you see Mark just call us at 799-1453 or contact the sandy
28:27grande police station and the seven person who remains missing is ancient Angelina Rambia you see
28:35the age Whitney yes very young this is not the first time we've been dealing with Angelina Angelina
28:42went missing in uh April May of this year we worked hard we were able to get her back um her mother only
28:53contacted us last week although she has been missing since the 17th so if in if you know where Angelina is
29:02we are appealing to Angelina because we know her please get back home so you can call the
29:10for the the the better street police station or the port of spain task force or call us at 799-1453
29:22yeah captain did they give a reason why she ran with you mom well the thing is um there are some
29:28girls and and this is this is a reality we have to face in terms of behavioral problems they did very
29:35difficult to handle and um Angelina is one of them now this stem some problems at the home it just
29:42doesn't arise yes so sometimes separate parents being separated sometime um their needs are not being
29:51met as children they don't have that love and attention and they you know this is their way of
29:57you know in terms of bad behavior simple bad behavior to attract attention to the fact that they
30:04traumatize and they suffer yeah we need to take that break we'll be back you're playing thing
30:13remember long time when adults leaving children home to go fed was normal so many things could have
30:20gone wrong and there's nothing normal about that for carnival 2026 our children's safety comes first choose to
30:29get a responsible adult or babysitter and if you can't stay home stop playing ting this is a safety

33:56and now some we're gonna dive into some of the stories that have been trending over the weekend
34:01making its way in to the new week now
34:03hakim o'brien was shot and killed on february first while he was driving along prince street
34:12his path was blocked by another vehicle and four armed men emerged from the vehicle and open fire
34:19now we could see captain the type of weapons that are used in these shootings these seemingly gang related shootings
34:29it is disturbing to see it is heartbreaking
34:31we've not seen um these types of murders for a while in especially in the latter half of 2025 and
34:38we see one early in 2026 so that's an automatic weapon and that's the one that does a lot of damage
34:46yeah um and the young man is holding it he's very accustomed to holding it because if i have to run with
34:53that i would fall down yes broad daylight yeah look at him he's comfortable which means that he has
34:58been practicing and broad daylight you you you carry out a murder like this um so you know i'm sure
35:05the authorities will want to bring the perpetrators to justice and they would know who these guys are
35:11and um you know uh we ought not to see this in 2026 so we asking these young men to you know put
35:19down the weapons and and get on with your lives and find a job and live a safe life yes and of course
35:26anyone with information please call the nearest police station 999-555 and as we move right along
35:32we're coming out of the soe captain and yet again we're seeing more and more persons still not listening
35:39because we have been pleading to individuals to pay attention to the facebook market please the playground
35:45for individuals to be scammed and we don't know how many times you will do it but we have to do it
35:51so a woman loses twelve thousand dollars in agency facebook scam police investigating reports of
35:58larceny by trick after a woman was allegedly duped out of 12 000 by a man posing as a housing development
36:07corporation official the 44 year old woman of san fernando reported that around 11 30 a.m last friday
36:15she visited free well i said bank at independence square in port of spain where she deposited 12 000
36:23as a purported down payment for an hdc house the money was deposited into an account in the name of
36:31a man she said she met via facebook and who introduced himself as an hdc coordinator she was later instructed
36:39to proceed to an address in current for what was described as a site visit however upon arrival she
36:47met no one at the location she subsequently made several attempts to contact the alleged coordinator
36:53but all efforts proved fruitile captain yeah well i am sure i was going to say that don't don't
37:00donate it to hunter search and rescue team so madam and this is for members of the public you work hard
37:06for your money please do not be separated from your money that easily the hdc has continuously said that
37:14that that is not the way that an hdc house is procured you have to visit you have to make sure that you
37:22you're compliant in terms of your your your your your paperwork and then they will introduce you to the
37:28home mortgage bank and then you will purchase your house via that bank please there are no there are no
37:35agents who sell hdc houses so we want you to be careful but um i think you're correct we we've talked
37:43about the facebook marketplace a lot on this program and i was in a particular area last week and one of
37:51the gentlemen there were we were talking about these facebook scam and facebook marketplace and he said
37:57you know how many people in this area make a living from scamming people on from facebook marketplace so
38:04this is just speak to children speak to if relatives sell tell them that um you know they have to be very
38:12very very careful it's fraught with danger and you can lose your money yes captain is so open they are
38:19yes just giving it a stranger and i should have a family member except for twenty dollars is the hardest
38:25twenty will get from them true you know so be wise we're asking you to avoid avoid it please let's speak
38:32about we see the pig all right so we were that that famous pig that we still continue with some of the
38:37things we did in the past week just to highlight the work we do um david is all ladies from the animal
38:43welfare network would have contacted hunter search and rescue team they were concerned about percy is a
38:49she the pig in the savannah so during the week we made arrangements to you know takes percy to a safe space
38:58and um it took a lot of planning um and on wednesday night it was execution well not we we will we decided
39:07we go on get to speak so we work with the belmont police station we tried to find the owner and this
39:13is the team but whitney 5 pm one of the women does shannon crow there she spotted the pig at the entrance of the
39:22savannah right you know when we got there at 7 pm there was no percy now we searched the entire savannah
39:30that night until 2 a.m the morning we kept checking all the boots everything the open boots
39:36and post percy was nowhere to be found only for the next day for the talk on the in the savannah was that
39:43percy was locked in between 5 pm and before our arrival at 7 pm into one of those food huts
39:51and very early at about 4 am the next morning percy was spirited away in our vehicle and so
40:00we were not able to to take we had arranged a horse trailer very expensive a rental to take percy to a
40:09free-range animal sanctuary in freeport it took a lot of logistics and planning this operation
40:16we had to work with the police you had to work with ncc security you had to work with a woman
40:22um you know and get feed to feed little percy into the horse field it took a lot out of us only for
40:29pussy to be locked up spirited away and most likely ended up on a pot yesterday in a pot yesterday so i know you
40:40shocked yeah poor percy i i was hoping that you know that we took us safely to a sanctuary yes
40:47unfortunately that that did not happen but it speaks to you know trinidad a small part of trinidad and
40:54tobago who will look at an animal and see it as food rather you know but we wanted to avoid her we knew
41:02pan semis was coming up and we wanted to avoid her being in the savannah for that she may have made her way
41:09onto the roadway onto the busy roadway around the savannah would have gotten bombs we knew that so
41:16we said in order to avoid all of this let's go take her out of there and and get her to a sanctuary
41:22yeah persons had other plans for her yes clearly two things persons have planned for internet when
41:28you see a pig or you go on i just know it's gone if you don't move as quickly as possible that's what
41:32happens now captain when it comes to other animal rescues yeah and we do this often like last
41:39week we did three snake rescue um capture and release and then there was one with a particular
41:46dog so um if you're viewing and you have snakes around or any wildlife we we we capture and we
41:53release them into the wild this is um so why don't you this one here is a rainbow bow uh um this one here
42:00is a red tail bow constrictor in a roof down in cedrus you know the lady was so frightened she called us
42:06and look how easily andrew would handle the snake just press something on the head get a hole of the
42:12head and and take out this juvenile red tail boar so what we do is that we would bag it and release
42:19it into a forested area we do three to four of these per week um because they're helpful to the
42:26environment we don't want to see the destruction of our wildlife and and um even if they come in and
42:33in conflict with persons we we are the option call us no no we'll take it fine to the forest and release
42:40it where it will live a long life so in order if you have this conflict between animal and human being
42:47we are there and you know um since we started this aspect of our team um persons are using the option
42:56right and then um i don't know if jackie has it there was a barely alive dog in a train in trinn city
43:05and this dog was barely alive and i'm happy to report this is our member desi simon um he was there
43:13he went he rescued the dog and you know what does he did does he took that dog home had that dog a good bath
43:21and kept looking at that dog and his goal is to rehabilitate this dog and keep it as his own
43:29is he a veterinarian i spoke to him huh is he a veterinarian no he would have taken the dog to the
43:34vet he's just a animal lover like all of us and he has he is determined to bring back this dog to you
43:42know a healthy life right so we do all of these things and i thought today has it been our anniversary day
43:49i will show viewers what it is to be a member of hunter's search and rescue team and what we do
43:56sometimes we can highlight everything yes but we do a lot of work hunter search and rescue with the
44:02biggest heart in trinidad and tobago we take a break we'll be back i go from a different life never

49:42and c and t we have a call on the line so let's head to the phone lines call a good evening
49:50yeah listen to you on the panel listen to musaramara yes listen to whitney
49:56whitney you look so nice in a black outfit every time eh keep it up thank you i will tell trini
50:02trini people especially you have animals don't let your animals go on the street
50:08they can get into one of them restaurants or one of them food place just now just now it will be
50:14giraffe pork already had giraffe pork but just like with jira dog and jira snake so be careful of
50:20other pests here
50:22thank you captain
50:24yes kola and i think um this thing is you know a nation is judged by how we take care of our animals and
50:32um you know we could we need some improvement in terms of um you know our stray dogs and cats and other animals
50:40other pets and um you know we have an issue with um you know speeding animals and it's kind of costly but you know
50:48look around you get a friend to help you if you know that you don't want your your pet to have babies you know
50:54do the writing and and take the animal and and carry it to be speed because this is what happens right
51:00so last night 10 pm someone called to say that they found two kittens in a box yes about four inches long
51:12so most likely newborn yes in the moruga district right i had to convince one was a lady to take this animal
51:20these two animals once they feed it with a syringe some milk and try and get it to survive the night and
51:28when in the morning comes we will deal with with those two kittens where she didn't call back and i know
51:34she said she was taking them home but we we just throw them away in bags and boxes all over the country
51:40and um you know i always see and i hear people say this right these strays if you could adopt a stray they
51:48make good home they make good house pets and they're the best dogs dogs are very loyal animals and so you
51:56know we could help help out persons could help yeah well i mean we will see quick question we got back
52:02for the phone lines are we in hunting season yeah we in hunting season it comes on and at the end and end of
52:08okay we have another caller caller good evening hello hi good evening so both of you all good evening
52:16good evening i know you're talking about animals and so forth but i have an issue i would like to raise about
52:22the flavor village in porterstain and the wrecking why are these police wrecking and there's a sign safety
52:32means the park and they are wrecking your vehicles and it's uh you ought to touch on that what is that about
52:40okay thank you so much i mean tomorrow we will speak with asp ross right so i think that's the best person
52:46to speak with but just to know that um we were in the savannah last weekend trying to get pussy
52:52and i noticed that there was wrecking taking place at around midnight and i was wondering
52:58it's strange yes i was wondering um why why why why at 12 at midnight and there wasn't much traffic
53:04or there were there there i couldn't understand why yeah but my my thinking is also is i mean when the officer comes
53:12tomorrow we could yeah i think he's best the best person to do but the parking spaces the facilities
53:18it's not where the persons are able to really find a place to park yeah and at the hour in which persons
53:24are parking as you said closer to midnight or even after 10 you know it's a funny space to be in but we
53:29will rectify that and get more information which is very important so let's dive straight in to some of
53:34the activities you all were a part of there was a career day yes so and and and this is the thing
53:40here we cannot have said it earlier any program the youth we have to to be involved with our youth
53:46especially persons like yourself and and unlike our team with me who could impact some skills to the to
53:53the youth population to ensure just to let them know that um we're looking on and we want to guide them
54:00and we want them to stay on the right path so here's liberty ml a career day well this boot was of course
54:08they had these students would have gone crazy and what we try to do at these um career days is to
