02:04A message from the TTPS.
02:21Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and to our international audience, this is Beyond the Tape.
02:26I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
02:28Today is the day where we have the officer that we need here representing the TTPS to bring reassurance after
02:36a weekend that many of us cannot believe took place.
02:39And with that being said, we could see that they continue to work extremely hard because boots continue to be
02:45on the ground because we saw what took place in San Fernando with the high time we're seeing the guns
02:50and ammunition still being recovered.
02:53And let's just say they are not stopping until they get every gun and ammunition off of the streets from
02:59the criminal elements.
03:00To help me today, of course, is one of our officers each and every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
03:06We have ASP Russell, who is here with us representing the TTPS.
03:09Good evening to you, sir.
03:10Good evening, Ms. Husbands.
03:12Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and our international viewers on behalf of our Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners,
03:20First and Second Division Officers of the...
03:22Esteem.
03:23Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
03:25As usual, it's a pleasure being here.
03:27I know we have a lot to discuss today.
03:28Yes.
03:29And I come before you to face the music.
03:32Yes, well, we are here.
03:34We are here.
03:34What is going on, ASP?
03:36Let's start off, because going into the week, no one was expecting what we saw to just even enter the
03:43beginning of the week.
03:43The Monday is a fresh day to start things for many of us.
03:47But what took place over the weekend was disturbing.
03:51I totally agree with you.
03:53What took place over the weekend was really, really disturbing.
03:57Condolences to the family of Corporal Eversley.
04:01Friends, relatives, condolences to her colleagues, the ones that supported her and the ones that were affected.
04:08We have activated the Victim Support Unit to provide free counseling for all those who desire.
04:16Yes.
04:16I want to say something to the public.
04:19Public, I want you to understand.
04:22I know this situation is indeed troubling.
04:26The commissioner continues to be on the ground with the troops.
04:31He is not leading from home.
04:32He is not managing from home.
04:35You have seen him out there at 1.30 a.m.
04:38Yesterday when we did the press briefing, he came into his home, as he said, about 4.30 that morning.
04:44And he made it his duty to update not only the media, but the Trinidad and Tobago as to what
04:51has happened thus far.
04:53Where are we?
04:54And the information that we could provide to the public, we did provide.
04:58We cannot.
04:59Because of how sensitive this situation is, we cannot.
05:03We cannot tell the public everything.
05:06We would disseminate information as is necessary to keep the public informed, but still have our intelligent apparatus maintain the
05:19element of surprise.
05:21The Trinidad and Tobago police service, we remain committed.
05:24And I am not going to really separate, because I know when they say police, they refer to everybody, whether
05:31it's transit, whether it's municipal, whether it's TTPs, because we are asking you to trust the police.
05:36Yes.
05:37And, of course, municipal is part of the police as well.
05:40Even though there's a different structure, different head, et cetera, we understand how the public feel.
05:46And I would stand here and I tell you that the Trinidad and Tobago police service, the Defense Force, and
05:53every sector of Ministry of National Security, intelligence apparatus, has been activated.
06:00And our operational visibility has increased and will continue to increase even further.
06:08We will not stop until we get back each and every firearm.
06:14We will not stop.
06:16We assure you that we continue to be accountable to the public.
06:21We will continue to update the public via means of press briefing or releases from the commissioner, as he may
06:26do from time to time, because sometimes he may do voice releases.
06:29And we will keep the public aware there's nothing to hide.
06:32There is nothing to be hidden.
06:35Is it something that we are ashamed of?
06:37Yes.
06:38But people come from the society.
06:41Correct.
06:41And from time to time, we all do silly things.
06:45I wouldn't want to stand here and say it's a mistake because there was some thought, there was some planning
06:50that was involved in it, as far as, you know, things look.
06:55But people do dumb things at times.
06:58You're not just in the spotlight.
06:59You know that, right?
07:00That's the reason why everything is magnified even more, and the responsibility is all whole.
07:05And that is why myself and others, including yourself, stress to the other officers, when you wear this uniform, you
07:10must wear it with some sort of pride and discipline.
07:13Because when you mess up, everyone in the TTPS looks bad.
07:18And I can understand how the public feel again.
07:20And I am saying to you, when we come around and we're doing background interviews and investigation to ascertain if
07:30an individual in your neighborhood is fit to join the police service, we ask that you be honest.
07:35That information will be held in strict confidentiality clauses.
07:43And we want you to be honest.
07:45If you know he's a gang member but he hasn't been charged, because what happened, there are persons who are
07:50involved in crime and has not really been pointed out on ID parade or there's no data, they have no
07:56criminal record.
07:57But if they want to infiltrate the TTPS, they can.
08:00That's a form of getting in to do the duty work as well.
08:02And if you, the neighbors, the neighborhood, the parents, the relatives know that he or she is involved in criminal
08:09activity, say something.
08:12Say something, because sometimes we think, hey, I'll give them a chance.
08:15But six months of training cannot overtake and would not wash away three, four years of bad behavior.
08:26Some are asking that you be honest when we come to ask questions, even when it comes to persons obtaining
08:34a fine user's license and stuff like that.
08:36But be honest when we come to you.
08:39And I tell you, we would not stop until we get back each and every fire out.
08:46Now, as you said, you all are not stopping along with the police commissioner, who is not stopping either.
08:52And we saw that there was a media briefing that took place on Monday, the 20th of April.
08:56And the commissioner of police had this to see.
09:11Good afternoon to the media and members of the public.
09:14I am Owe Russell, acting assistant superintendent, public information officer for the Trinan Tobago Police Service.
09:22Seated with me here today, we have commissioner of police, Mr. Alistair Guevara.
09:26As he would seek to enlighten the public of all that has transpired and share information as to some of
09:35the operations that we are now embarking on with respect to the events that occurred over this weekend.
09:44So, over to you.
09:46Thank you very much, ASP Russell.
09:49A pleasant good day to all the members of the media and Trinidad and Tobago.
09:52So, as promised yesterday, I am coming back to you, the members of the public, to update you all on
10:00matters that would have occurred over the weekend that drew significant public concern.
10:05Firstly, I'd like to give you an update on the San Fernando Municipal Police Headquarters,
10:10where the homicide involving Corporal Eversley was indeed a shocking moment to the nation and the heist of several weapons
10:23and ammunition that is an extreme concern to the TTPS.
10:29So, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service can confirm at this point in time that the autopsy on Municipal Police
10:35Officer Corporal Anushka Eversley was completed today.
10:39The cause of death has been determined as strangulation, accompanied by blunt force and sharp force traumatic injuries to the
10:49body.
10:49What was initially suspected to be a gunshot wound has now been clarified by the forensic pathologist's findings.
10:57The investigation continues apace, and at present, six men between the ages of 16 and 33 are in custody.
11:07Two women and one male detainee who were held yesterday have since been released.
11:12As inquiries progress, further changes in persons in custody are expected.
11:17In relation to the theft of arms and ammunition from the San Fernando Municipal Police Headquarters,
11:24the TTPS has thus far successfully recovered 38 firearms, one MPX submachine gun, one shotgun, one revolver, and 35 pistols.
11:36Additionally, 929 rounds of ammunition have been retrieved,
11:42comprising 909 mm, 10 rounds of 0.38 caliber, and 10 shotgun cartridges.
11:49The TTPS is actively pursuing several interventions, aimed at not only the San Fernando Municipal Police,
11:57but across the wider municipal service.
12:00These measures will seek to address existing gaps and implement significant changes to safeguard against reoccurrences of this nature.
12:08Immediate reforms are being introduced to strengthen firearm storage and ensure strict adherence to relevant policies and standing orders.
12:19Further interviews with municipal police colleagues of the deceased officers are ongoing as investigators seek to determine any and all
12:28possibilities of accomplices.
12:30The public is assured that this investigation remains top priority, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
12:39The other matter of significant concern over the weekend was the discovery of the 56 bodies in the cemetery,
12:47which we have now determined to be an attempt to dispose of human remains.
12:54Investigators are continuing apace as officers of the Northern North Division Crime Scene Investigations.
13:02Unit have fingerprinted the six adult bodies recovered as part of the process to verify identities.
13:09Additionally, three persons are currently in police custody assisting the investigations,
13:14which remain ongoing as statements are currently being recorded,
13:17and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
13:22All right, ASP, we heard from the Commissioner Cavarro.
13:26What are your thoughts?
13:28Well, you know, the Commissioner is accounting to the public on what has transpired.
13:33Yes.
13:33We cleared up some of the rumors that were circulating out there on social media,
13:38and we touched on the issue of the situation at...
13:46Kamuto.
13:47Kamuto.
13:48Kamuto.
13:49Where persons with bodies were fingerprinted, and it looks...
13:55Yes.
13:55In the meantime, well, let me put it...
13:58That was y'all.
13:59You know, y'all got an information.
14:00Um, what it speaks to is that there needs to be some regulations.
14:04Mm-hmm.
14:04Clear laws and regulations to regulate the funeral homes with respect to how they dispose of unclaimed bodies.
14:12Yes.
14:13But we will continue our investigation to make sure that there is no one there who have been killed via
14:21a homicide
14:22and, you know, something that's clandestine, for want of a better word,
14:26to ensure that we bring that comfort and the relief to the public with respect to that investigation.
14:31Um, you already heard him say that we will continue to work diligently.
14:35We have activated all the intelligence apparatus of each in Antibagos Police Service,
14:39and even the little outside help from the defense force and stuff like that,
14:43we have activated all...
14:44Yes.
14:45...apparatus with respect to intelligence as we go forward to try our best to regain...
14:51to get back these firemen, to regain the trust and confidence from the public.
14:55I know the public is shaking because they are judging everybody as one, and I can't understand that.
15:01Because when they see blue and grey, do they not check in to see what is on your shoulder?
15:06May it be SRP, TTPS...
15:09Municipal.
15:11Municipal or Transit.
15:12They're seeing police as police, so I understand how the public feel.
15:15And we continue to make inroads and get more and get more and get more as the days go by.
15:23Now, speaking of getting more, according to the TTPS media release,
15:27there was another breakthrough in the Municipal Police Station heist
15:31where three held, 13 more firearms recovered, a total of 10 persons are now in custody,
15:36and 43 firearms and over 900 rounds of assorted ammunition successfully recovered.
15:42As investigations can continue into the theft of guns and ammunition
15:46from the San Fernando Municipal Police Station on Sunday 19th, April 2026.
15:52A targeted and strategic operation was conducted in the Clarkson Bay District
15:57between 6 p.m. on Sunday 19th, April 2026 and 7 a.m. on Monday 20th, April 2026,
16:06during which officers of the Highway Patrol South Operations Team intercepted a white kill,
16:12K-2700, with three male occupants.
16:16A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 13 firearms, 12 magazines,
16:22288 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and 10 12-gauge cartridges.
16:28The three suspects were arrested in connection with the fines.
16:32This fine comes after the initial seizure of 30 firearms and 612 rounds of 9mm ammunition,
16:40and the arrest of seven suspects yesterday during several joint operations involving officers of the Southern Division,
16:47the Special Branch, and the Home Invasion Team in the Clarkson Bay area.
16:52Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
16:55So, Ms. Husbands, Andrew and Tobago, thus far, we have recovered 43 firearms,
17:04over 929 rounds of assorted ammunition,
17:07and at present, we have 10 persons in custody.
17:11But one of the more alarming things with respect to that last story.
17:18Did I say the 16-year-old?
17:19The occupants that were held in that vehicle,
17:23one of them was 16 years of age.
17:29Crazy.
17:3016 years of age.
17:33And the other one was 22 and the other was 23 years of age.
17:42We are looking at our youth.
17:45So, already, at 16, he is facing a charge for arms and ammunition,
17:54and it could be looted the other more serious offenses.
18:03Where are the parents?
18:05Where are the guardians?
18:07Where are the relatives?
18:09No, you have to blame the government.
18:13You have to blame the teachers.
18:14Blame the teachers.
18:16Blame society, because you all gave birth to those children.
18:22No, you all gave birth to those children, because that's how they arrived.
18:27Yeah.
18:28That is why it's all a problem.
18:30And it goes back to the society.
18:32And when we ask for an all-hands-on-deck approach,
18:37you know, some persons might want to throw their hands up in the air.
18:42But regardless of how you feel at home,
18:46how shaken, we are all shaken by the situation.
18:50But when you start to throw your hands up in the air,
18:54and the neighbors start eventually,
18:56the community throw their hands up in the air,
18:58and the criminal elements recognize that,
19:00and they start to take over the community.
19:04What if every member of the protective service
19:06decide to throw their hands up in the air?
19:09This is something where we need each other.
19:12We need each other.
19:14Instead of negative comments,
19:16we could probably do some suggestions,
19:19some positive comments,
19:21some words,
19:22some prayer.
19:24Prayer.
19:25Simple thing as prayer.
19:27From the minute that it started,
19:28I started praying,
19:29and Lord help us to recover these firemen ammunition.
19:34And get the suspects.
19:36And get the suspects.
19:37We don't want that.
19:39We already have a little issue.
19:40We don't want this added to that.
19:44But when you look at how things are unfolding,
19:48there are people involved in this
19:50who are known
19:54to the deceased.
19:58So I'm asking you all at home,
20:01could you really trust your friend?
20:03Could you really trust your colleague?
20:05It's a situation where the nation
20:09need to learn.
20:11It's a situation where all
20:14of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service
20:16transit municipal
20:18have to now look
20:20and re-examine our policies
20:22with respect to the securing of the stations,
20:26with respect to the securing
20:27and accountability of firearms.
20:30We wouldn't wait for it to reach to the TTPS.
20:32We will learn from this
20:34to ensure that this does not happen again.
20:38Ever.
20:39And we want the public to understand
20:41that we will continue.
20:42And I will tell them,
20:44I wasn't looking forward
20:45to coming out this week
20:46after that.
20:49Because I too felt some kind of way.
20:52I too felt some kind of way.
20:55The woman police isn't known to me.
20:58But I'm fed up.
20:59I'm at a position where I'm fed up
21:00seeing parents cry.
21:02The nine-year-old.
21:03I'm fed up seeing children cry.
21:04I'm fed up seeing mothers bawling.
21:08And if you sit at home
21:09and you are not fed up with that,
21:12then I don't know what to tell you.
21:13Yeah.
21:14And as we move forward,
21:15the officers again
21:16that wear sea uniform,
21:17if you know those
21:18who are doing the wrong thing,
21:19smoke them out,
21:20wean them out.
21:21Bring the information.
21:22And if you don't trust anybody,
21:25tell me.
21:26Yeah, don't trust,
21:27don't let them be a part
21:28of the organization.
21:28Call.
21:29Leave the number with Jackie
21:30and ask that Russell contact you.
21:32Yeah.
21:33Right now,
21:33let's take a look
21:34at what's making today's SOE update.
21:36As of April the 21st, 2026.
21:40Number of operations, 4057.
21:43Number of target priority offenders,
21:461,377.
21:48Searches conducted, 2,367.
21:52Traffic operations, 2,286.
21:55Total persons arrested, 1,765.
22:00Total persons charged, 414.
22:04Firearms recovered,
22:05we're seeing a total of 129.
22:08Ammunition recovered,
22:10we're seeing a total of 2,949.
22:13And dangerous drugs seized,
22:15we're seeing again,
22:16increase with the cannabis
22:17and cocaine.
22:18ASP.
22:19The usual.
22:21Drugs, firearm,
22:22and ammunition.
22:23Yet persons continue,
22:25unbothered.
22:26Yes.
22:27I saw the rifle went up to one.
22:29Yeah.
22:30Yeah.
22:30And you may be living
22:32in a catered community
22:34with a security
22:36and a guard boot to enter,
22:39but it doesn't make you immune, eh?
22:41Yes.
22:43ASP,
22:43there were two other types of firearms
22:45that I want person to see
22:46that was increased.
22:49What is that?
22:49Two other types of firearms.
22:51It's something different.
22:52It's new.
22:53Any firearms you covered?
22:5572 pistols
22:57and two other types of firearms.
23:00Maybe it's firearms that were seized,
23:03but the make and model
23:04is different from what?
23:06Has been filed off.
23:07Okay.
23:07So you're unable to identify
23:08whether it's a Smith and Westerner,
23:10a Glock or a Brownian, et cetera.
23:12Understood.
23:13All right.
23:13Right now it's time to take a look
23:15at what's making today's headlines.
24:16in today's headline.
24:17Remember,
24:17you could give us a call
24:18at 623-1711,
24:20extension 1996 and 1997.

26:06and stay alert.
26:07A message from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
26:25Welcome back.
26:26Now if you're now joining us,
26:27we have ASP Russell here with us, my co-host.
26:30And as we continue to mention how the TGPS continues
26:32to work extremely hard as best as they can,
26:35let's head to Coover,
26:36where a Coover man held with firearms and ammunition.
26:39So one man was arrested and two firearms
26:42and quantities of ammunition seized
26:44during an Operation Steady Guard exercise
26:46conducted in the Central Division yesterday.
26:49The exercise was conducted between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
26:52on Monday, the 20th of April, 2026,
26:56and included officers of the Western Division Task Force.
26:59During the exercise, officers proceeded
27:02to Calcutta Road, Coover,
27:05where the home of a 41-year-old male suspect was searched.
27:08Nothing illegal was found inside the house,
27:10but a subsequent search of a rental car on the property
27:14resulted in the discovery of two Glock pistols,
27:18five magazines, and a quantity of assorted ammunition
27:21on the floor of the front passenger seat.
27:24The male suspect, who was present at the time of the search,
27:28was arrested in connection with the fines.
27:31Yes, Dave.
27:31Well, first of all, let me say thank God
27:34for carrying them and bringing them back safely,
27:36because when you're going to the firearm interdiction,
27:38you have no idea what you're going to face.
27:40Yes.
27:41Secondly, we thank the members of the public
27:43who gave that information,
27:44because, and this is, we talk about trusting somebody,
27:47even though, because Western Division went down
27:49to Central Division.
27:51So I'm saying, even if you don't trust the police
27:53in your neighborhood,
27:54you could still give us the information
27:56that the trusted source,
27:58that you feel could handle it.
27:59So I want to say congratulations to Mr. Williams
28:02and all of the Western Division.
28:04Well, despite the senses, it's worked.
28:06I spent quite some time of my career
28:08in the Western Division.
28:10Inspector Grant and all those who were involved
28:13in that exercise,
28:16and this is what we want,
28:18this collaboration.
28:19And let me just correct something.
28:21The two other firearms were indeed homemade shotguns.
28:25Oh.
28:25But it's been a while since, you know,
28:28we would have seen homemade shotguns.
28:30Well, maybe the reason we are seeing
28:31homemade shotguns happening
28:33is because you'll clog in the access
28:35of getting the guns into the country
28:37as best as you can.
28:38You're stopping it.
28:39Well, we will try our best.
28:40So we're back to the new school way.
28:42Well, the new school way is a strange way,
28:45but it's homemade shotguns.
28:47So let me just clear that up.
28:49Now let's check out an anti-crime operation
28:51in the Western Division
28:52executed on Friday the 17th of April
28:55at preventing and suppressing criminal activity
28:59and also demonstrating commitment
29:01to safer communities.
29:02Let's take a look.
29:19Good day all.
29:21I am Senior Superintendent Williams,
29:24head of the Western Division.
29:26To my right is Superintendent Mohammed
29:29and to my left, ASP Silver.
29:33You also have present with us
29:35officers of various ranks
29:38and different units within Western Division.
29:43We in Western Division remain committed
29:46to doing all that we can
29:48to prevent and suppress crime,
29:51to prosecute offenders,
29:53and to build and improve partnerships
29:56with the citizens in our communities
29:59as we contribute towards making every place
30:03in Trinidad and Tobago safe.
30:07The State of Emergency 2026
30:09has provided us the opportunity
30:13to conduct a greater number of operations,
30:17including searches,
30:19in a more efficient and timely manner,
30:23improving on our effectiveness
30:26in finding and seizing illicit drugs,
30:31guns, and items of evidential value,
30:36and apprehending offenders for safe.
30:39Since the beginning of this current state of emergency,
30:43on the 3rd of March, 2026,
30:45we have been able to conduct
30:50336 operations,
30:55243 of those operations
30:57being traffic operations,
30:58and we have been able to conduct
31:03119 searches
31:06on varying premises.
31:08We have targeted 97 priority offenders,
31:12arrested 34 persons,
31:15recovered and seized 11 firearms,
31:18as we strive to proper police our division
31:23and make every place in Trinidad
31:26and Tobago safe.
31:33Anti-crime operation
31:35in the Western Division ASP.
31:36Again, commendation to Mr. Williams.
31:39Yes.
31:40I'm Superintendent Mohammed,
31:41Acting ASP,
31:42Mr. Sylvan,
31:43Inspector Grant,
31:44Sergeant Huggins,
31:45and all of the team
31:46of the Western Division.
31:47Ms. Husbands,
31:48I want,
31:48I know you were looking at the video.
31:50You saw where the dog found the drugs.
31:53Yes, correct.
31:54And you realized
31:55that particular vehicle
31:56looked like an old vehicle.
31:58So these are the things
31:59that the criminal element do.
32:01There's an old vehicle on the street.
32:02They hide their illegal stuff.
32:04There are their firearms.
32:05There are drugs.
32:06And that's why we tell people
32:07to try and engage
32:08in that crime prevention
32:09through environmental design.
32:11Call us.
32:12Let us search the vehicle.
32:13Let us call
32:14the relevant authority,
32:15the regional corporation,
32:16to remove that old vehicle,
32:17that direct vehicle of the street,
32:19to cut the grassy areas,
32:21to light the parks out of the dark
32:22so we could really flush all these things
32:25and put an end to these kind of activities
32:29that are going on in these communities
32:31as we speak.
32:32Yes.
32:33You know,
32:33so I want to thank even the canine
32:36for coming out
32:38and giving us that assistance
32:40because their dogs are well trained.
32:42Yes, well, we saw that.
32:43And capable and equipped.
32:45And healthy.
32:46We have drug dogs.
32:47We have gun dogs.
32:48We have cadaver dogs.
32:49Yes.
32:50So thank you to Ketomonted and canine.
32:52Of course.

35:23Good evening to the ASP,
35:24Russell,
35:25from the Western Division,
35:27a piano man,
35:28doing a fine job.
35:30I'm a smart man.
35:31I just want to say to you,
35:34officer,
35:34senior officer,
35:35they're looking
35:35like the man in the book.
35:37I want to say to you,
35:39hold your head high.
35:40You all have been doing
35:42some magnificent work.
35:44I, as a former member
35:45of the Defense Force,
35:47continue to salute you all
35:49because you all are serving
35:51in a very difficult
35:52and trying time.
35:54I agree with you,
35:56all hands must be on deck now.
35:58What took place there
36:00in San Fernando
36:01was a dark, dark side
36:03of the police,
36:04political police.
36:06What took place there?
36:07I am saying,
36:08and you said it
36:09in the preamble,
36:11we need to have
36:12a forensic,
36:13a forensic
36:15of all arms
36:17and ammunition
36:17of all the corporations.
36:19Not only that one alone
36:21in San Fernando,
36:22but in San Diego
36:23and the Romantic,
36:24all for the space,
36:26all will have these arms.
36:27Minnesota police
36:29and have arms and ammunition.
36:31But do not feel bad.
36:33I was a member
36:34of the Defense Force
36:34and all kind of
36:35trial and tribulation.
36:36And I'm saying to you all,
36:38you all are doing
36:39a very good job
36:41in this SOE.
36:42You all are working hard,
36:44religiously,
36:44and you all have family
36:45just like myself too.
36:47But I was serving too
36:48and still have family.
36:49God continue to bless you all.
36:51Very good show in the,
36:52very interactive
36:53and very informative.
36:54Thank you very much.
36:56Have a good night.
36:56Salute to you, sir.
36:57Thank you so much.
36:59Paul, I thank you.
37:00I thank you.
37:00I thank you so much.
37:02And I thank you
37:02on behalf of not only myself,
37:04but the commissioner,
37:05the executive of the
37:06China and Tobago Police Service
37:08and every member.
37:10We appreciate that, sir.
37:11And we thank you
37:12for the words of encouragement
37:13that goes along with.
37:15Trust me.
37:15Because we know.
37:16We read the comments
37:17you know,
37:17Miss Husbands.
37:18I don't know how you all do it.
37:19Miss Husbands,
37:20we read the comments.
37:22How foolish we are.
37:23How illiterate we are.
37:24Who joined with two pastors.
37:25We read it.
37:27We read it.
37:29But we would not turn
37:30our backs on you all.
37:31We will continue to come out
37:33and continue to support.
37:34But we read it.
37:36Yeah, it hurt our feelings
37:37at times, too.
37:39But we would not turn
37:40our back on you all.
37:41We will continue to love you all.
37:42Because our job
37:43is to make you
37:45our partner,
37:46not our enemy.
37:47We have to do this together.
37:49Yeah.
37:50We have a caller.
37:51Caller, good evening.
37:53Yes, good evening.
37:54Good evening.
37:54As a caring member
37:56of the society,
37:58I want to share
37:59my condolences
38:00to the
38:02Everglies family
38:04on that untimely
38:06heinous act
38:08by what I like to call
38:10a sociopath.
38:12A sociopath.
38:13People and social
38:14personality disorders.
38:17ASP,
38:18we must admit
38:20we are going through
38:21what I like to call
38:21a mask of
38:23sanity.
38:25There are lots of
38:26people coming
38:27into the criminal justice
38:28system,
38:29not the only police,
38:31with superficial
38:32charm
38:33and apparent
38:34intelligence
38:35but have
38:36illusional
38:37and clinically
38:38irrational thoughts.
38:39And for some reason
38:41they have
38:42antisocial behavior
38:43and inappropriate
38:46motivation
38:47to carry out
38:48the narcissistic act.
38:50Don't feel
38:51totally responsible.
38:52You cannot
38:53prevent that.
38:54They are coming
38:55out of society
38:56and if they are
38:56coming in as
38:57antisocial
38:58behavior personalities,
39:00right,
39:01they are going to
39:01continue it
39:02in all aspects
39:03of the organization,
39:04even in their own
39:05home.
39:05Right?
39:06But what you need
39:07to do,
39:07your medical staff
39:09and psychologists
39:09need to do
39:10a deep, deep, deep
39:11clinical profile.
39:13It may not be
39:13in a panacea,
39:15but it could
39:16reduce
39:16the number
39:17of antisocial
39:18to sanity
39:18officers,
39:19right,
39:20in criminal justice
39:20system.
39:21Again,
39:22I want to
39:22measure it
39:23with the
39:24TTPF
39:25and the
39:26family.
39:27Gosh,
39:28it's a
39:29mask of
39:32sanity.
39:33We are
39:33masking our
39:34sanity.
39:35Right?
39:35So,
39:36how do you
39:37put it
39:37blunt,
39:38but it's
39:38what's
39:38happening.
39:40Have a
39:41nice night
39:41if you can.
39:42Thank you
39:42so much,
39:43Kolo.
39:43ESP.
39:44It's the same
39:44thing I was
39:45asking.
39:45It said that
39:46persons are
39:47infiltrating
39:48the TTPF
39:48in a form
39:50of, you
39:50know,
39:51that psychopathic,
39:53I'm not a
39:54medical person
39:55to diagnose
39:56anyone with
39:56that,
39:56but it
39:58almost gives
39:58out.
39:59Yeah,
39:59but neither
39:59am I,
40:00but when
40:00you look
40:02at it,
40:04somebody
40:04with grown
40:05and nurtured
40:06bad behavior
40:07cannot be
40:08changed
40:09in six
40:10months.
40:11We have
40:12had officers
40:12who were
40:13charged and
40:13placed before
40:14the court
40:14for misbehavior
40:15in public
40:16office,
40:16or corrupt
40:18activities
40:19while
40:20certain
40:20probation.
40:22And I
40:22say it
40:23again,
40:24the Trinidad
40:24and Tobago
40:25police service
40:25has charged
40:26and placed
40:27before the
40:28court our
40:28own members,
40:30some of
40:31them that
40:32are still
40:32on probation.
40:34so it
40:35goes back
40:37to the
40:38parenting,
40:38the morals,
40:39the value,
40:40the church,
40:41the educational
40:42system,
40:43society,
40:44on the
40:45whole.
40:46But when
40:46you're dealing
40:47with psychopathic
40:48people,
40:48as in
40:49society,
40:51that is
40:51where it
40:52is difficult
40:52for the
40:53TGPS now
40:54to step
40:54in and do
40:55the job
40:55the best
40:56way you
40:56can,
40:57to eradicate,
40:57sorry,
40:58because a
40:58psychopath,
40:59you're not
40:59dealing with
41:00someone who
41:00is coming
41:01with flowers
41:01and roses
41:02right?
41:03right.
41:03We have
41:03another
41:04caller.
41:04Caller,
41:04good evening.
41:08Hello?
41:09Yes,
41:09I got a
41:09good evening.
41:11Good evening.

41:23the
41:23family.
41:27Thank you,
41:28sir.
41:29the

41:31knew a lot
41:32and
41:33he was
41:34shot,
41:35killed,
41:35we see

41:41believe,
41:42I believe
41:43that he had
41:43to put
41:44to sleep.
41:45But
41:45on the
41:46second point
41:47is the

45:18Anytime you leave your keys in the ignition when you pull up to your driveway,
45:23you make yourself an easy target for theft and robbery. Make it tough for criminals. Don't give them a chance.
45:32Switch off your engine, remove your keys and stay alert.
45:37A message from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
45:55Welcome back. Now, ASP, what I was suggesting, basically, is the same way that when a person comes in the
46:01hospital with a gunshot wound,
46:02that they call the TTPS. If a baby has passed, should they call the TTPS just to have a report
46:09done? Just a suggestion.
46:11It's a good suggestion. I mean, it would bring some level of accountability, further accountability to the situation.
46:17I don't work in that face. I don't know what are the protocols with respect to the medical institutions.
46:22But, I mean, in these times that we are living in, accountability is everything.
46:28Yeah, and maybe we could just look after those bodies that we witnessed there.
46:32Now, some quick information to the public, the Community Justice Clinic.
46:36There's a notice for all of you, so please pay attention for the weekend of April 25th.
46:41There are two clinics. Now, let's head to the Southwestern Division at the Fisabar Community Center in Guapo Mean Road,
46:50Fisabar.
46:50And that's from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
46:53All right. And Saturday, April 25th, also at the Northeastern Division at the MyTower Community Center,
47:02you could attend at a city street, Upper Upper Street, MyTower Road, San Juan from 8 a.m. to 1
47:10p.m.
47:10Come out and be a part of the solution and don't make excuses.
47:14You have opportunities to speak to experts in the field of law
47:18and also when it comes to dealing with matters that may be civil as well.
47:23All right. We have a caller online. Caller, good evening.
47:28Hello.
47:29Hi. Good evening.
47:30Good evening, caller.
47:31Good evening.
47:32Good evening, ma'am.
47:33Good evening, caller.
47:33It's you, Russell, and Whitney.
47:35Yes, ma'am.
47:36Good day.
47:37I'm going to say to the police, they are doing a fantastic job.
47:42I want you all to pray to God.
47:44I want you all to guide you all.
47:45Our country is in a mess with these people.
47:50I know, in my elderly, I'm alone.
47:54I'm afraid to be alone.
47:55I pray for the police officers every day.
47:59I'm living in a country area.
48:01I understand I had break in need.
48:03I was up there over the Easter weekend.
48:06And a lot of break in need.
48:07I praise the police.
48:08There were three or two of them.
48:10You understand?
48:10And you all have done a fantastic job with AFT.
48:14And I'm a boy, but listen to me.
48:17Great job, Mando.
48:18But I'm going to say what you are afraid.
48:20Hold on.
48:21I'm doing a job.
48:22You are doing a fantastic, fantastic, I can never say.
48:26Okay?
48:26Adelie, I praise you all.
48:28You have a lovely evening.
48:29We should be safe.
48:30Brittany, you too.
48:33Yes, sir.
48:33I, the TTPS thanks you for your continued prayers.
48:36And we ask that you continue to pray for us.
48:39You know, continue to pray for us.
48:41Because we need that.
48:42We need that.
48:43And this is what we want from the churches and the religious bodies.
48:47The Bible says, seek first the kingdom of heaven and all shall be added.
48:50Nothing is possible without God.
48:52Yeah.
48:53So we need to really, you know, improve and upgrade our prayer life.
48:58I agree.
48:59And start to make that change that we want to see.
49:04Now, ASP, we always speak about making yourself a hard target.
49:08And it seems like some persons still don't get this.
49:12And it may not happen to me because I'm safe.
49:15I'm good.
49:16I can do what I want.
49:17Now, there was an incident that took place at Lady Chancellor where $13,500 in items gone.
49:24In a Benz that was broken into.
49:27So you know that is not going to be cheap from just fixing that.
49:30Now, a man is counting losses after his vehicle was broken into and ransacked along Lady Chancellor route St. Clair
49:37on Saturday morning.
49:38Police said the victim of Lange Park should go on us parked his Mercedes-Benz around 9.15 a.m.
49:44near the bend after the Horticultural Society before leaving the area with his wife.
49:50When the couple returned about 10.45 a.m., that is Hudson, they discovered the driver's side glass shattered and
49:58the vehicle ransacked through,
49:59where they witnessed the missing pair of a prescribed Oakley glasses valued at $6,000 and iPhone 15 valued at
50:10$6,000 and $1,500 in cash.
50:14I wonder where those things were left.
50:17I mean, it gives no persons the right to break your vehicle, but we ask persons to be vigilant.
50:22But last month, a friend of mine from the gym, his dad went to run, same area as well, laptop,
50:30broke his vehicle, laptop gone.
50:32And I'll just say, in that same area, they timed the officers, because the presence by the officers, it's always
50:39active.
50:41So they timed the officers and then they will find a moment of, oh, look, something there, somebody left it
50:45there.
50:46Stop leaving items on your seats where it's visible for persons to see and break into your vehicle.
50:51So if you have another call, Kola, good evening.
50:54Hello?
50:56Hello?
50:57Hi, good evening.
50:58Good evening, Kola.
50:59Good.
51:00Present afternoon to Inspector Russell and Mr. Tubman.
51:03Hi.
51:04Good afternoon, ma'am.
51:05Good evening.
51:07A lot of commendations to the TCS for all the great work that they are doing, especially during the SOE.
51:14In spite of all the reports we see in the daily newspapers and all the comments on the Facebook, the
51:21social media.
51:24This afternoon, apart from the commendations, you know, I've been noticing parents when they go to pick up their young
51:31children at the preschool.
51:34Sometimes, because of the location, you see parents on the phone, and these toddlers are close to the roadside.
51:45Security personnel, they're supposed to be securing the police station or other business places, and they're head down in a
51:53phone.
51:55They're head down in a phone, so commendations for the work, you know, but there are other issues to be
52:02addressed as well.
52:05So we can't have law enforcement officers or security personnel, and when we walk into business places, if we go
52:15in by the police station, these big firearms on them, and you're unguarded, because the criminal mind, they're looking in.
52:25They're looking in, and as we could all see, some of them armed, they're properly armed, and they are ready
52:33to take down.
52:35They are ready to take down. They are not playing with you all, you know. They're not playing.
52:40So while, you know, some of us out here, and we pray for the law enforcement officers, you know, we're
52:45really happy to see the work that you all are doing.
52:49And yes, some may not see that crime is reducing, but when you look at different areas of crime, we
52:56know that something is happening.
53:01So this afternoon, we want to take the charge of the young children, and security officers, the criminal element, not
53:11saying, don't take your life for granted.
53:16So you all have a good evening, and we'll continue praying for you all, and this is my contribution for
53:22the afternoon.
53:23We appreciate you.
53:24Thank you, ma'am.
53:25Yes.
53:25Thank you very much, ma'am. We appreciate that.
53:27And you know, the cell phone seems to be a distraction for many.
53:32All of us.
53:33For many, for many, for many.
53:35And you know, the more we speak about telling persons to be vigilant, be aware, know your surroundings, it's like,
53:42some of it falls on deaf ears.
53:45Like we just read.
53:46And we don't want a situation where you are taken by surprise because your phone dung in a phone, and
53:52you never see the bandit until he reach up on you and tell you, hand me that gun in your
53:56waist.
53:57Yeah?
53:58Because, as the caller said, they are indeed looking on.
54:02Unguarded moments.
54:04For your unguarded moments.
54:05Yeah.
54:06We have our final call this evening.
54:08Caller, good evening.
54:10All right, good evening.
54:11Good evening, sir.
54:12Good evening, sir.
54:13Hi, hi, hi.
54:15Question in terms of wrecking and parking.
54:20I noticed around the Memorial Park in Fuller State, where that is just publicly objected Napa.
54:30Where persons will go and, you know, the family goes to the savannah to take a snack and the family
54:38hangout for a couple minutes.
54:40And yet, still, they are wrecking.
54:43I'm trying to understand where are the persons who may part there.
54:49They are not obstructing anything.
54:52They don't have no event, no military, nothing.
54:56But yet, still, they seize it to wreck.
55:00You're going to buy a bag of pulaui for $20 and you end up having to pay $500.
55:07Come on, make it make sense.
55:09If we are trying to maintain a family something, a person just say, hey, good boys, let's go and get
55:19some pulaui, some chips, some something.
55:22And when it comes out, you are wrecked $500, because due to me, or give us, some I think, so
55:30because it's so, and again, on cheat sheet.
55:34There are no parking signs, whether it's by the metal thing that you all put down, or even in the
55:42ground, nothing.
55:43But yet, still, persons that still be wrecked, I mean, adjust this.
55:48Thank you, have a good night.
55:49Yes, thank you, sir.
55:50Yes, please.
55:50Carlos, a lot of the parking areas, they are sometimes gasseted.
55:56And persons may not see it in the papers at that point in time.
56:00And we could definitely do better with signage in this country.
56:05Signage is an issue in this country, and I understand what the caller is saying, because I, too, have seen
56:14the wreck operate in that area.
56:16And sometimes it is 7 p.m., 8 p.m., the person is just going to have a little, and
56:22I understand what the caller is saying.
56:24I really want to side with him, but the laws are the laws, regardless of the time of the day.
56:32So then where should they park, then?
56:33What I would encourage is that they go around and drive into the savannah behind by the grandstand area, and
56:41park anyway around that area.
56:43And what they could benefit from, as well, there's a security boot by the entrance to that grandstand area.
56:49So somebody might be looking out, you know.
56:51I wouldn't say they're looking at your vehicle, but there's some sort of security element close by.
56:57It's a security, why not for two?
56:59Yeah.
57:00But for the security to be there, you could be parked on the same side with the gentleman who got
57:05wrecked.
57:06So you could go.
57:06I guess we'll provide that information on to the mail.
57:09Make a right and go.
57:10Oh, yeah, we can have a conversation on to the mail at a specific time.
57:13Because during school, when it's pickup, they don't wreck during that time when they have the pickup for the school.
57:18That is the primary school and secondary school that is right in that vicinity there.
57:23So, I mean, we could try that.
57:24Hopefully, the mayor is watching.
57:26Yeah, but most times.
57:27Of course, Spain.
57:27Most times when the schools are over, the parents just stop in the middle of the road and the child
57:31runs into it.
57:32And it creates quite a level of traffic.
57:35That's another discussion.
57:35So the police go there and share some ticket for that.
57:37You know, we too wicked.
57:39Well, maybe you should.
57:40So we'll get some order.
57:41So, yes, we would like to thank you as usual for being here.
57:43Continue being a fantastic officer.
57:46You're trying your best along with your colleagues.
57:48We appreciate the time and effort that you take to come here with us every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
57:52We get ready for news coming up next at 7.
57:55And happy belated birthday going out to my mother with her husband.
57:58I hope that you enjoy the rest of the month.
58:01God bless.
58:01We out.
58:02See you later.
