Bicycling's Dan Chabanov gives his take on Zwift drafting.
Transcript
00:00So I recently got excited about a Zwift update, which doesn't usually happen.
00:05I think Zwift updates tend to be pretty minimal, but this one finally addressed something that
00:11I've been asking for ever since I got on the platform like over 10 years ago at this point,
00:16and that's a visual draft indicator, which, you know, I get it, fake miles and all, but like
00:25there is a draft effect in Zwift, and unless you've spent a lot of time on the platform,
00:31there was kind of like no way to judge it very well.
00:34It was all just like learned knowledge, but now there's a little blue bar on the top of
00:39Zwift, on the top of the HUD, that fills up when you have a draft, and when it's full,
00:45you have the most draft available, and when it gets a little small.
00:49So like Zwift doesn't tell you that, doesn't pop up that close the gap message anymore.
00:54That's the big change.
00:55There's no more close the gap.
00:58It just, you can see the little blue bar starting to fill up as you get closer to the rider
01:02in
01:02front of you.
01:04Anyway, I think that's pretty cool.
01:06It's clearly like bundle up indoors weather right now.
01:09So yeah, it's nice that Zwift finally addressed this.
