Tara Seplavy talks on how to keep your gear clean.
Transcript
00:00If you've seen pro riders out there and they're rocking white shoes, white socks, they always have this super clean look.
00:06So I asked our chief white sock and shoe correspondent, Trevor Robb, how do you keep your gear so damn clean?
00:14He said, my number one tip, don't be afraid to get your shoes wet.
00:18You can put them in a tub of water, you can put them in the bathtub, you can put them in the sink, whatever.
00:23Scrub them down, use a little bit of oxyclean in there.
00:26Get all into the nooks and crannies, you can get those white shoes clean, or if you've got any other light colored shoes.
00:33But the same thing goes, if you've got black shoes, you can clean them in the tub too.
00:37These things aren't your limited collector's edition Air Force Ones or something like that.
00:42You ride them in the rain, they can get wet.
00:45Same deal goes for your helmet.
00:47A lot of people seem to think like, hey, can't get my helmet wet.
00:50Well, you're sweating in the thing, you're getting it all grody and nasty, you're riding it in the rain, it can get wet.
00:57So, when you get done with the ride, you can throw that thing right in the sink, wash it down.
01:02You know, I wouldn't throw it in a dishwasher or something.
01:04You can wash it in the sink, get it in there with the pads, clean it all out.
01:08Hey, and if all else fails, if you're that dirty, just jump in the shower with it, scrub it all down, get it clean that way.
