00:00Everybody has a different definition of what they would consider a long ride.
00:04Maybe your definition is in miles, or maybe it's in hours, or hours on the bike, or totally lapsed hours.
00:11Everybody's definition is different.
00:12For me, personally, I'd say around the four-hour mark or a ride that includes a halfway point stop.
00:19That's when I'm getting into long-ride territory.
00:22Whatever your definition is, there's a few pieces of gear that I think should be given some more consideration
00:28when you go out for your long ride.
00:31First one is a repair kit.
00:32You're going further away from home, chance for things to go wrong, bring a good repair kit.
00:38Instead of those one-time use CO2s, I swap out those little CO2 canisters for an electric inflator
00:45just because I have more tries to get air in my tires if something does go wrong.
00:51Second is a head unit, a cycling computer.
00:54A good one, too.
00:56Get the route preloaded in case you lose GPS or lose internet, and you can see the route
01:02and see where you're going clearer, brighter.
01:06Last is for comfort.
01:08That's a nice, nice pair of bibs.
01:11And underrated feature for bibs, I think, are cargo bibs with a pocket.
01:16More room for stacks, more room for an extra layer, more room for really whatever you want
01:22on your long ride.
