02:26What does it have in common?
02:29This.
02:30I-T-I-S.
02:32But what does I-T-I-S really mean?
02:35The suffix itis denotes inflammation of a specified organ or tissue.
02:40I-T-I-S really means inflammation.
02:42How do we combat chronic inflammation?
02:44Through lifestyle changes.
02:45Then, and only then, make sure you're getting enough mega-free fatty acids.

03:14Join us every Friday from January 16th straight to Carnival Sunday.
03:20Be a part of history.
03:22Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago, and, of course, our international viewers as well.
03:42This is Beyond the Tape.
03:43I'm your host, Whitney Husband.
03:45And I hope persons had an enjoyable weekend, a safe one at that.
03:48And speaking of the weekend, we saw a lot of pictures and videos circulating of many things happening further into the West.
03:56And let's just say some persons overdid it.
03:59Persons were stranded to some degree and persons had to wait extremely long, extremely long time in traffic.
04:07And the behavior was out of control.
04:11If you know the S and D meaning, read between the lines.
04:15And, of course, persons not understanding the importance of their life and risking it all when it comes to trying to make their way to their different destinations.
04:25And forgetting that there's life after these events, there's life after Carnival.
04:29So we ask persons to act responsible when it comes to the Carnival season as we're entering the last end of the excitement before we hit the road Monday and Tuesday.
04:41And, of course, to give us more and talk to us more about safety and protecting ourselves.
04:45Of course, we have the captain here to guide us in the right direction.
04:48We have Captain Rambo out here with us this evening.
04:50Good evening to you, son.
04:51I hope you had a good weekend, a restful one.
04:53Yeah, a good weekend, Whitney, but very tiring.
04:56I feel like I've been to three of those festivals.
05:00Back-to-back.
05:01Back-to-back fests.
05:03Back-to-back fests.
05:04But I just came from Merrill where there is something occurring here.
05:07I'm missing a C person, but nevertheless, I endorse your opening statement.
05:12A pleasant good evening to our viewers on Beyond the Tape as well as TV6 by extension.
05:19It's always a pleasure to be here.
05:21But I didn't get the producer's permission.
05:24But I worked with a lot of kit here.
05:26You're open on safety.
05:28Yes.
05:29And I worked with this.
05:30This is my personal trauma kit that I worked with.
05:33It cost just $500, right?
05:36And I thought I'd bring it to just exemplify how important safety is.
05:41You may pay $1,000 to go to a party.
05:44You may spend over $500 to make arrangements to go on a beach.
05:50But, you know, at the end of the day, something like this could save your life.
05:54I looked on at what happened in Karanash.
05:57Yeah.
05:58And I said to myself, I followed it on social media.
06:01Even if you were charging $100 per person to get persons quickly to Chagaramas, you should
06:08have at least provided a safety vest.
06:12The life jackets.
06:13Right?
06:14The life jackets.
06:15Now, viewers, it must become best practice that once you're boiling a pirog, you must have
06:22on a life jacket.
06:24It is your safety.
06:26It is your lifeline.
06:27Yes.
06:28And it will keep you afloat in the water until help arrives.
06:32And so don't go out there on pirogs without a life jacket.
06:37And I always say to persons, grab a piece of rope anywhere you're going and keep it with
06:45you.
06:46But what I saw on social media there, I saw these persons probably had no idea they were
06:50going to board a pirog.
06:51But the option was there and they didn't pay particular attention to what was going on.
06:58So I thought for the price, they should have provided a life jacket.
07:02I think also when spirit kicks in, it is one way, you know, it is persons feel like they
07:10invincible.
07:11They play Russian roulette with their lives and you are also instrumental in making sure
07:15that you provide closure to loved ones, but you're also involved in the carnival season
07:20when it comes to helping and letting persons know the importance of safety as well.
07:25We get anxious as carnival approaches.
07:27And yesterday evening I was home saying it's going to be a quiet Sunday and it didn't turn
07:32out to be that.
07:33But as we approach this carnival week, you're quite correct.
07:38There's a jambi, I call it, that's the freedom that carnival season brings.
07:46But please practice safety in everything that you do and make sure you enjoy yourself.
07:51You see, the thing is we want you to enjoy yourself, but we want you to do so safely.
07:56That's why the glass bottles were banned and you know, most rules will come into effect if
08:03we have to make this entire beautiful experience a safe one.
08:09Yeah.
08:10And what could you give with regards to advice of persons who may be going to events,
08:14especially for the New West, because it's one way in, one way out.
08:16Yeah.
08:17And what could they do?
08:18I don't think it's that good.
08:19The logistics is very difficult.
08:21It's very, very difficult.
08:23And I think what has to be done is that promoters have to look at other options other
08:28than the Chagramma's Peninsula.
08:31But, and you see what happened, Whitney, is that it caused a closure of a number of businesses
08:38because employees couldn't get to work for their night shift.
08:41Yes, correct.
08:42And there were a whole set of problems.
08:44But I think if you know, if you're going to have a carnival experience, whether it's a
08:49event, whether you're going to Panorama this week or stick fighting in Moruga,
08:54whatever event you go to, make sure that you park properly.
08:59Pay for your parking.
09:00Do not park on the side of the road unless, you know, there is police patrolling
09:07or the promoters have made arrangements for security.
09:10Parking is important.
09:12Do not flush a lot of jewellery.
09:15Yes.
09:16Stay simple.
09:17Secure your money and consume your alcohol with some degree of discretion.
09:25Yes.
09:26Understanding that you're amongst people.
09:29Carnival is a social event.
09:31There will be a lot of people involved.
09:33And as you move your, as you move around, be conscious of your surroundings.
09:39Make sure that you know who you are with.
09:42Walk with friends.
09:43Go with friends who you know for your own safety.
09:46And always move in that pack.
09:48So if you're going to the washroom, you know, you have your girlfriend,
09:51or two girlfriends, you go with them.
09:53But men tend to not do that though.
09:55But what can men do to also protect themselves?
09:58Because men are not going to say, I'm going to the bathroom, come in here.
10:01They're not going to do that.
10:02We tend to be very stoic in that regard.
10:04But they should practice it and continue, let the pack move together.
10:07Right.
10:08Because you don't know.
10:09Once you become separated from the pack, you become isolated and you become a self-target.
10:15So be like a wolf pack.
10:16A wolf pack, yeah.
10:17Take men will take that a little bit better.
10:19Yes.
10:20I saw men shaking heads and I'm not going to tell a man that I'm going to use the bathroom and come back.
10:23Yeah, I know that.
10:24We felt like that.
10:25I'm just going to go and use the bathroom and I'll come back to material.
10:28But I think, but females should get a meal for entire company then at least to stand outside as well.
10:34Okay.
10:35I recommend that highly.
10:36Good point.
10:37Now, let's look at your celebration.
10:38Yes, so last Monday we celebrated our 5th anniversary and what we do every year on the 4th of February,
10:45two days after our anniversary, is that we visit Kumac Village, a very small village in Valencia.
10:53And that is where Andrea Barrett spent most of her growing up days.
10:57Yes.
10:58Her mom, Veronica Williams, died while she was young.
11:01Andrea's grandmother, Ina Williams and her aunt, Wendy Williams, this is her grandmom there.
11:11Yes.
11:12Ina Williams and her aunt, Wendy Williams and her cousin Geraldine Williams, they more or less looked after Andrea.
11:20And it's only when she began working that she, you know, she stayed in Arima with her father.
11:27But this is the team here.
11:29I want to say something about this video.
11:32This video shows nine men there, but it was eight, sorry.
11:37Eight males and two females started Hunter's Search and Rescue Team five years ago.
11:42And these, those on the video shown before.
11:45Yes.
11:46Those were nine of the original Brian, Brian, Brian, so they could not have attended.
11:52So, Tunga, Sunil, Ian, Veena, Desi, Hulk, and there is Johnny in the back there.
12:01And somebody in the front here missing, Rhea.
12:04And there's me in the back there.
12:05Ina gonna say you can't forget yourself.
12:06So, it's nine, but it was really ten and Brian really couldn't make it on that.
12:10This is the team as it looks now, right?
12:13And there is the Memorial Park.
12:16And what we did on that day is, this is the Memorial Park.
12:20You seeing a peaceful on the other side?
12:21Yes.
12:22Yes.
12:23That's a new addition.
12:24And Hunter's Search and Rescue Team added it to the Memorial Park.
12:27This year, I want to thank Glenn Robinson, our member, as well as Hulk and Ian, for working
12:34acidiously to get out in place.
12:36And this is us with the villagers.
12:38We had a nice evening.
12:39Yes.
12:40And this is Wendy here in the pink and Geraldine, her cousin in the black, standing at the Memorial.
12:47So, as we go along, we'll return there every 4th of February to celebrate our anniversary.
12:53It was really a great time.
12:55Such a big hat.
12:56I told you that you have one of the biggest hats in the country.
12:58You get the entire team, not just yourself.
13:00And we keep working all the time.
13:02And something is always coming up.
13:05This weekend, on Saturday, I'm not too sure if she has it lined up.
13:09But on Sunday, we received a distress call, a young man, 17 years old, Gabriel Nelson.
13:19He, unfortunately, had difficulty, got into difficulty while bathing in Grand Lagoon and
13:26this is our team out there searching for him last night in the Marrow area.
13:33In talking to the family, and I'll deal with it later on, it was actually three of them.
13:39You know, a big tragedy was avoided.
13:41Who got into difficulty?
13:42Two of the boys came out.
13:44Gabriel did not.
13:45Gabriel did not.
13:46But it was, it was a recurrent in talking to them.
13:51It's a recurrent.
13:52And until now, he remains missing.
13:56So as soon as I leave here, Whitney, heading to Marrow to meet, to meet the crew to continue
14:03to look for him.
14:05So a very unfortunate incident.
14:08Do you know what time exactly they reported him missing?
14:11We got a call at 4.30, but the stepfather told me the incident happened at 4 p.m.
14:19Okay.
14:20And so the, I just want to say this.
14:24So when I left there earlier today, the support unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service,
14:31the Marrow police officers, the Trinidad and Tobago, the lifeguards were there with us,
14:36as well as friends and relatives and villagers trying to locate this missing at sea, Gabriel
14:44Nelson.
14:45Rather unfortunate to see a young man.
14:47And that's why we see Whitney all the time.
14:50If you pay attention, if you educate yourself a little bit about the outdoors.
14:55Yes.
14:56And the thing is, we want you to go and enjoy the outdoors and I love Marrow.
14:59I respect the sea.
15:00Right.
15:01But I love Marrow.
15:02But there are certain things you have to look for and I'll deal with it later on in the
15:05program.
15:06There's a gentleman who is missing.
15:09He's continuing to engage our attention.
15:14It's really something that we want to bring closure to.
15:20Albert Solorzano.
15:22Now today makes, I believe, the three days since he is missing.
15:28And we were out there.
15:30This is in the, let me see if I can recall here, this is in Hardaway.
15:35Hardaway Road in La Hocketa.
15:40Just by the highway there.
15:41Now we would have received a tip off that you were seen walking in the area.
15:47And having visited the area and conducted searches in the entire area.
15:52That's going back to Petonville in the Karapo district.
15:55Now the reason we targeted this area as well is he left La Hocketa and on the 8th of January
16:02and made, he wanted to get to Karapo.
16:05This street you see here, links this road, links La Hocketa to Kaparo.
16:11And we didn't get the time to search this area.
16:15So we did a detailed search of the entire area.
16:18As we were concluding the search, a gentleman came up to us and showed us a pity of the person that was seen.
16:27And it was not Albert.
16:30And this happened just until the end of the search in the night while we were wrapping up.
16:35So we convinced it wasn't him.
16:37But nevertheless, we urged members of the public to keep looking for Albert Salazano.
16:44He's an elderly person, early stages of dementia.
16:48It could be a little bit of Alzheimer's.
16:51But we believe that he's moving around in that Karapo, La Hocketa area.
16:56Now, Captain, let's talk a little bit more on your check and visit to the Queen's Park, Savannah.
17:02What was that about?
17:04What I did is that I decided to visit the Savannah.
17:08No bay on the tape was coming up and I wanted to take a look or conduct an audit.
17:13Okay.
17:14Let's put it that way.
17:15Conduct an audit in terms of the safety arrangements that is in place.
17:21Anywhere you turn in the Queen's Park, Savannah, you will see police officers and I think they would be all over at every carnival venue like this.
17:31Keeping an eye on patrons.
17:34And this here is the Trinidad and Tobago fire services.
17:39I had a long chat with the gentleman, the senior officer in black.
17:43And we went through all the protocols with respect to keeping the eyes clear and ensuring that there is free movement at all times through the Savannah.
17:53And then I engaged.
17:55This is a site map, which I think is good.
17:58So in case anybody gets lost, you know, you could find your way through through the kind of major carnival venue.
18:05You know, there's a stage, the back entrance, all the entrances.
18:09And this is one that I was looking for.
18:12That's the grand stand, north stand.
18:15And I was looking for this, right?
18:18Because it's the number one problem we encountered during carnival.
18:22Lost children.
18:23And so I wanted to highlight it for viewers to let you know that the Trinidad and Tobago police, they are aware of the problem.
18:32Children become temporarily lost during carnival.
18:36And what you could do is just go to the command center there, report your child lost, and there are enough officers there to locate your child.
18:47Because after sometimes 10 minutes, 15 minutes, the child is found.
18:51Yes. Captain, what could parents do if their child is lost that they could, the officers or persons could identify the child if they're unable to?
18:59Well, we asked you to walk with pictures, but even before you leave home, you should make sure that you write your child's name on a paper with a contact number to get out with your contact number and place it in the child's pocket somewhere so that the officers could retrieve the information easily.
19:20We have encountered where children just arrive in the savannah on their own.
19:27What do you mean?
19:28They just show up?
19:29Yeah, they show up in the savannah.
19:30They just left their home and the parents.
19:31And walk out and with no parents.
19:33Okay.
19:34And when the officers ask them for their information, they're not able to respond.
19:39So we in turn now, the officers will call us, they will take a picture and they will ask us to post it to find the parents.
19:45It has happened over previous carnivals.
19:48So we're asking parents, please keep an eye on your children.
19:53Now, we're not saying children.
19:55I know it is easy for children to slip out from you.
19:58Let them move quickly.
19:59For a short space of time in a crowded area.
20:02Just collecting a snow cone.
20:04A snow cone.
20:05I was thinking the same thing.
20:06You understand?
20:07You understand?
20:08And something.
20:09They got caught up in something watching the policeman horse or something like that.
20:14Being attracted to it.
20:16But you will be able to locate the child.
20:18So that area is for lost children and I wanted to highlight that today.
20:22Yes.
20:23And that is at the entrance, making your way to the stage, which is by the Grand and North Stand, right?
20:27Yeah.
20:28Right now, we get ready for today's headlines.
20:30Let's take a look.
20:32And those are the stories making today's headlines.
20:57We'll take a break.
20:58We'll be back.
20:59Well, yo, yo, yo.
21:00This is your boy Ricky Jai.
21:01You ever late for the fact so you'll mash down on the eggs?
21:14Hmm.
21:15Speeding come like normal until you realize how fast things can go wrong.
21:22So this carnival, we're on a slower scene.
21:26Choose to slow down and obey the speed limit.
21:31Better choices, safer carnival.
21:34I, Ricky Jai, say so.
21:37Don't spoil me name, don't spoil me name.
21:42Son are tellin' you a blame.
21:44Don't spoil me name, don't spoil me name.
21:45I tellin' you again and again.
21:47I tellin' you again and again.
21:50This carnival, slow down.
21:52Don't spoil me name.
21:54Welcome to Holiday Inn Express and Suits.
22:05Do enjoy, Stacey.
22:07Thanks.
22:08You want some coffee?
22:12Can I have a drink?

23:34From January 16th straight to Carnival 2026, be a part of history.
23:43Oh, that is absolutely magnificent.
23:47That is astonishing.
23:50That is sensational.
23:52And we are back, just to inform the public, we'll be on a short break from Carnival Thursday to Ash Wednesday.
24:09So, for those of you who are looking for us, don't worry, we'll be back from Ash Wednesday.
24:13If you're now tuning in, we have our captain here with us, Captain Ramborat.
24:17Captain, let us know more what's going on with the missing persons as well.
24:20Right, and Whitney, for February, thus far, we've had seven reports of missing persons.
24:26Of those seven, we still have four standing.
24:30Michael Espania Ramnath is still missing.
24:36You would have been following this case.
24:38I'm not too familiar.
24:40I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, Whitney.
24:42And both him and his father, they were returning from Sellenburgers and Penal to their home in Ramshatta.
24:49Tantraison Penal, when the evicos were intercepted, the father was robbed of his cash and stuff.
24:56And his son was taken.
24:57And his son was taken.
24:59Not too sure.
25:01Well, once it's kidnapping for ransom, we come under our cloak of confidentiality with respect to kidnapping for ransom.
25:10But investigations are ongoing with respect to this case.
25:15But if you have information and you think it will help us in locating Michael Ramnath, please call the Penal Police Station, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, your nearest police station, or 799-1453.
25:29Your assistance will go a long way in bringing closure to this family.
25:35And then we have Barry Vince.
25:38Now, Barry is from the Karanage District, and we don't have much information on him thus far.
25:44But if you're from the Karanage District, and you know Barry Vince, or you know of his whereabouts, please contact the Karanage Police Station or our team at 799-1453.
25:58We're really trying to get some information on Barry.
26:01This one case came up only today.
26:05Joshua Mohamed from Railway Line, Victoria Village.
26:08And this is an interesting case.
26:10He went missing with a vehicle that is not his own.
26:14And so let me explain the story.
26:16What is missing?
26:17The vehicle that is missing with him is a PCN-7988 A.D. White A.D. Wagon.
26:27Yeah.
26:27Wing Road?
26:28Yeah.
26:29Y11.
26:29And let me explain the story quickly for you, Whitney.
26:33He has been living with his girlfriend for the past year in Victoria Village in San Fernando.
26:40And just Saturday, he said he was going for an interview in C3.
26:44And he left with his girlfriend's mother's car.
26:52And he has not been seen since.
26:55Now, what is strange?
26:57With the car?
26:57Yeah.
26:58The girlfriend's mother's car?
26:58What is strange is that both the girlfriend and the mother, they don't know him well to know his family, where he lived previously.
27:10They don't know who is his mother or father or how many brothers.
27:14And they don't know anything?
27:15He has been living there for one year.
27:18And so, the police, I will tell you, they're very concerned because I received a call this morning from the St. Madeline Police Station.
27:28And they asked for assistance.
27:32So, we have some members of our team, they're heading there.
27:37They should have been there earlier.
27:39And to just to see what information they could pick up to assist us in a search frame.
27:46And the fourth person is Gabriel Nelson.
27:48Now, no pity on the surface of him because the entire family, they're a small family, they're on the beach.
27:55They haven't left.
27:56And so, I was asking for a picture, but they had their phones charging.
28:01But, you know, in a situation like that, you just leave that right and operate without a picture.
28:07So, it's four persons still missing for February.
28:12And, of course, persons with any information, we ask you to please contact the relevant authorities so we could assist the families and bring closure to the families as well.
28:21Now, there was an incident where that persons saw dogs that were locked in a space in the Sylvana.
28:28Yes, we have a proclivity with the Queen's Park.
28:34At first, there was Percy the Pig and then now what was strange was somebody was jogging around the Sylvana and they observed that there were dogs barking in the public toilets.
28:44And when they checked, the dogs were padlocked inside a room in the public toilets, not the actual toilets.
28:51But, well, yeah, the room with the toilets, this is the padlock.
28:55And we had to call the city police.
28:57And they came, the chief engineer came and looked at it.
29:00And the police on the Belmont police station came.
29:05If you watch carefully, so this is the jogger lady who exercises around the Sylvana.
29:12As the public bathroom?
29:13This is the public toilets there near Jillingham Avenue.
29:18Oh, my God.
29:18And watch these two cute guys, two maids there.
29:23Yeah, so it was in the public washrooms.
29:24And this is our member, Abraham, was trying to comfort them.
29:29And, you know, yeah, they were trying to, so they were removed as his face.
29:35But I want to say thank you to the city police, for the city police, for, you know, really supporting, there's the officer there from the city police.
29:44Supporting the effort to get those two dogs freed from the public toilets.
29:50So what should be done, Captain, with dogs that are strays or prisoners?
29:53Well, if you watch these dogs, they have colors on them.
29:59What we suspect is that these probably arrived there after the fireworks only at night.
30:06They remained there.
30:07Somebody saw them and decided to lock them up in the bathroom, in the public toilets.
30:14But this gentleman here, Mr. Glenn Robinson, our teammate, he loves dogs, so he took them home and is taking care of them.
30:21Those are nice dogs, though.
30:22Very, very nice dogs.
30:23So, you know, those are not stray dogs.
30:25No, they're not.
30:25And they're well-behaved and very socialized in terms of how they interact with persons.
30:31So we knew that.
30:32But I couldn't understand somebody locking doors, locking up these two doors in the Queen's Park Sivana.
30:40It's something horrible to do.
30:41But it doesn't give random, though.
30:43No.
30:43I mean, you mentioned the fireworks, the colors are on the dogs.
30:47Yeah.
30:47So it seems like the owners are enough.
30:50And I'm just assuming, yeah.
30:52It could be a possibility because you have that happen, right?
30:56I'm seeing, you know what I'm seeing, becoming streets now huskies, right?
31:01Like, people love these blue eyes dogs.
31:04They don't realize the maintenance of that dog.
31:06And they don't know the maintenance cost of that dog and the requirements to keep that dog.
31:11And so they just have them as streets.
31:13I've seen quite a few on our streets as well.
31:16Yeah.
31:16We need to take a short break.
31:17We'll be back and we'll come back with your calls.
31:20We'll be back.
31:20We'll be back.
31:20You have a park somewhere, a little sketchy, but then when you come back, your vehicle
31:34have a whole new driver and it's gone.
31:37This carnival, we're not looking for problems.
31:39Choose the safer, well-lit spot, even if it's a little further.
31:42Better choices, safer carnival.
31:44Yours truly, Crystal, say that.
31:46Come now, doo-doo, darling.
31:49I'm feeling to whine and break away.
31:52Ooh, yeah.
31:53This I'm in a party mood.
31:55Hey, a kid whine on a bumper.
31:57Crystal.
31:59Don't let me take a jump in the morning.
32:01Okay, I see you, okay, let me see you, Cherry Hill, uh, yeah, now take it back, uh, let
32:13me see you, rock off, rock off, uh, shake off, shake off, let me see you, rock off, rock
32:18off.
32:18Let me see you, kick right, now kick left, now step forward, now step back.
32:22LucasAge, bring the energy.
32:24Pain.
32:25Say, like, I have no pain since using Omega XL.
32:28For those who try Omega XL, and they say it didn't work, try it again.

34:01You can open, we are opening the phone lines.
34:03You can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 and 1997.
34:08Now, from the release from the TTPS, when it comes to drone restrictions, we want persons to understand this is very important to pay attention to.
34:19No drone zone within five kilometers of any mandated aircraft operation, including the boundary of any airport within two kilometers of any helipod at any altitude of over 400 feet over any crowded area or over any public event.
34:41Please, we are asking persons to pay attention to the drone restrictions for Carnival 2026. Don't get caught being fined.
34:49Yeah, and you know, when you're flying, our team has our drones, so I know when you're flying drones, be careful of the route the airplanes would normally take to land in Piaco.
35:02Not just Piaco Airport itself. It says five kilometers there on any end because the planes would normally enter through the Caroni or enter through the Arima.
35:16And so be careful with this. And I'm seeing a lot of drones in the Carnival Fet to make it look good.
35:22That's okay, but make sure you stick to the requirements.
35:27I guess it will be from fire and also police will give that authorization.
35:33I'm not sure, but drones follow under the Arima Civil Aviation.
35:40All right, so all persons who are looking to use your drones, make sure you get what is necessary to fly those drones.
35:45We have to the phone lines. Call a good evening.
35:49Hello?
35:51Hello?
35:51Yes, you're live, so go ahead.
35:53Good evening.
35:54Good evening.
35:55Good evening.
35:55I have two questions to the captain.
36:01Captain, do you consider yourself a humanitarian?
36:05Because, you know, your thoughts are so much in terms of safety and rendering assistance at all levels,
36:13despite the threat, despite the location, despite the nationality.
36:19Look at the evening in Carnival, looking at the safety, right?
36:24And secondly, tell me, your search and rescue.
36:28Which one of these are the core values that you describe your search and rescue?
36:35Is it accountability?
36:37Is it equality?
36:39Is it integrity?
36:40Or service?
36:41Right?
36:42I don't know, maybe all, but which one do you think would describe your search and rescue?
36:46Right?
36:47And congratulations.
36:48And continue to try to make you and Tobago safe.
36:52Thank you, Kola.
36:53Thank you, Kola.
36:54Thank you, Kola.
36:55Let me say this to you.
36:58Hunter's search and rescue team, we didn't sit down and plan for this.
37:02You know the history.
37:04We went on the Andrea Barrett search, and when we were finished, we said we wanted to continue.
37:08But, Kola, what is important, and I will answer your question in a second.
37:12What is important is that that has shown us to the back end of some horrible things, right?
37:17I could tell you retrieving a suitcase filled with body parts isn't a nice thing, right?
37:25Or rescuing a five-year-old child who has been in a river for ten and a half hours, that isn't a nice thing.
37:32And having the experience at the back end, when things go horribly long, has caused us to put us in this safety mode.
37:40And we feel we could help in edifying the population about health and, I'm sorry, about safety.
37:49So I would say I'm a humanitarian because at my retired age, it's about giving back, sharing the love, doing things with love, being passionate.
38:00I don't have to answer to anybody.
38:02I don't have to answer to anybody.
38:04Not even mommy?
38:05Well, yes, I do.
38:07But, you know, that type of thing.
38:10So it's a pure love.
38:13You saw the team earlier.
38:15It's a well-structured, well-organized team, well-equipped, well-trained.
38:20And so it had to happen as we go along.
38:23But, you know, we ended up with a great product.
38:26And then in terms of the core value of the team, I think the core value of the team is honesty, right?
38:35People, persons are honest about, and everything is about honesty within the team.
38:41And that's what I cherish most about in terms of the members.
38:46And it's what I love the most.
38:48And members are free to speak the truth and say the truth.
38:52I don't have any problems with them.
38:54And I do so myself with respect to anything we engage in.
38:58And that has brought the love and camaraderie for us to stick together after five years.
39:05Yes, that is a beautiful thing.
39:06Now, just to bring to your attention quickly to the public from the TTPS media release,
39:10an AR-15 rifle and cannabis seized in St. Joseph.
39:15An AR-15 rifle and a quantity of cannabis was seized by officers of the North Central Division
39:22during an intelligence-led operation conducted in St. Joseph District yesterday.
39:26There, the officers conducted a comprehensive search of a bushy area
39:30where they found three bags containing 42 kilograms of cannabis.
39:35The officers also found one rifle loaded with a magazine.
39:39Captain, I'm busy.
39:40Yeah, great.
39:40So, you know, there was a debate which I like to stay out of.
39:44I like to be an outsider looking at.
39:47And they were saying, well, okay, you have no SOE, you know, so, so, so.
39:50So, so, yeah.
39:51All right, and the police, the Trinidad and Tobago police service would have responded by saying,
39:56our operations will continue.
39:59And this is a result of an intelligence-led operation.
40:03And this is, this, this is what we want the Trinidad and Tobago police service
40:07to continue to do in terms of their operations throughout the entire country.
40:12Yeah.
40:13And also to appeal to members of the public to continue to, to, to partner with the police
40:20to get results like what we just saw.
40:22Yes.
40:22Ladies and gentlemen, we'll take a break.
40:24We'll be back.
40:24I come from a different life.
40:28Never.
40:29Yo, Carnival.
40:30It's your boy, K.I. from K.I. and the band Trevini.
40:33And it's that time of year again.
40:34Time to party and time to fit.
40:36Let me ask you a question.
40:38You ever take a drink from somebody you don't know?
40:40Free drinks come with a heavy price.
40:43And this year, we're not thirsty for trouble.
40:45Always keep your eyes on your drinks.

42:03But what does I-T-I-S really mean?
42:06The suffix itis denotes inflammation of a specified organ or tissue.
42:10I-T-I-S really means inflammation.

43:33And remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996, and 1997.
43:39Now, Captain, let's speak on the reward from the family, from Tyrese Peters.
43:44And where are we with that?
43:44Right, so I just wonder, just throw our viewership back to November 2025, I believe it is.
43:53Yes.
43:54Right, so what happened then was that an uncle and nephew went missing from the, from Claxton
44:00Bay, Hilltop Drive there in Springvale, Claxton Bay.
44:03And what has happened thus far is that they've not been able, we've not been able to locate
44:09them, right?
44:10The family of Tyrese Peters, this is the 20-year-old, and we all feel included in the police that
44:16he got caught up.
44:18He got caught up in this situation.
44:20He just stepped into the vehicle to go out with his uncle and something happened.
44:24But he just accompanied his uncle because persons speak highly of Tyrese Peters.
44:31But his family has posted a two-tiered reward.
44:35The first part is $50,000 reward for information to the location of his body.
44:41And if it is that you could provide information leading to a safe return alive, then you would
44:48be rewarded with $100,000.
44:51And so the number they had to call is, our number actually is 799-1453.
44:56We're really trying our best to locate Tyrese Peters.
45:01So we're asking members of the public, if you have information, especially if you're
45:05from the, sorry, the Claxton Bay, Coover area, to please call 799-1453.
45:13The family has arranged an incentive for you to provide that information.
45:19And he was last, in November 27, 2025.
45:22Yeah, 2025.
45:22All right, so anyone with information, please take the number down, and let's see how best
45:26we can get this gentleman back home, or again, bring closure to the families.
45:30We head to the phone lines now.
45:32We have a caller on the line.
45:33Caller, good evening.
45:35Hi, good evening.
45:36Good evening to you, sir.
45:38How are you doing?
45:38All right, how are you?
45:39What are your takes on the electric bikes on the initial roadways these days?
45:45Reason being, because I see a lot of people riding there with no helmets.
45:49Some of them have kids in the back, especially, those very thrillers.
45:53What is happening with an accident that occurs with one of them?
45:57Is there a motorized vehicle on the initial roadways?
46:01All right.
46:02I don't know.
46:02All right, thank you.
46:04Captain, he's speaking of the bikes.
46:06It looks like scooters.
46:07Oh, I saw one, yes.
46:08I saw one on Saturday in the La Hoceta area, and our team was asking me about it.
46:15No license plates.
46:16And there's about three or four times I've seen them, and certainly that's illegal, because
46:22you cannot be riding a motorized vehicle like that without proper registration and authorization
46:29from the licensing authority.
46:31Now, I could understand if you travel.
46:34I've been all over the world.
46:35So, I've been to China, where this form of transportation is very popular.
46:43I'm not sure if it's regulated.
46:45But, you know, I could see it working in some areas, like if you're inside La Hoceta or inside
46:51Maloney area, you need to get from one building to another, and that is off the main road.
46:57But, I think the licensing authorities need to pay particular attention to it.
47:04I'm not too sure if the police has guidelines on that.
47:07But, we will ask ASP tomorrow or more on that and see where they are, because I know it's
47:12on their radar when it comes to that, and we have seen persons using it, and they're
47:15using it on the nation's rules, and that will be a problem, because if they hit a vehicle
47:20or hit someone, where's the address?
47:22Where's the address?
47:23Where's the insurance for it?
47:25Yes.
47:25And what protection you have in terms of, you know, if you injure other people.
47:31And, I think it's unregulated.
47:34Yes.
47:34All right.
47:35So, at this time, of course, the four nines are open.
47:37You can give us a call.
47:38We're going now to the current situation, what took place.
47:42I know you're in Mayaro.
47:44For a while.
47:45For a while now, I've been telling people, it's easy to spot the recurrence, right?
47:51The recurrence.
47:52Look at that breaking the wave there.
47:54Just behind the tip of the coconut tree there.
47:58Now, you will see an arrow pointing towards the break in the wave.
48:04All right?
48:05That signals the retreat of water from the shore into a channel that causes the wave to become separated into two.
48:15Look at the big one there, Whitney.
48:16Yes.
48:17You've seen the disturbance.
48:19The water is pushing and causing that wave to pre-
48:22Look at today.
48:23It cannot come ashore.
48:24It's struggling to come ashore.
48:26So, it's like it's settling in that space.
48:28It's creating a channel from the bottom of the arrow going straight out to sea.
48:33Now, this is perpendicular to the shoreline.
48:36It only occurs about 100, 150 feet out there.
48:41And, therefore, you cannot.
48:42But, if you just ride it out, you will end up on either the left side or right side of the recurrence.
48:52Now, remember, there's a heavy flow of water going back to the sea.
48:56So, just ride it out and get to the side.
48:58You'll find a sandbank on both sides.
49:02And, you can rest easy that somebody will come and get you.
49:05You'll be able to stand up there.
49:07And, the young man in Miara yesterday, his brother, his younger brother, told me he saw him fighting this current to get back to shore when he should have just eased off.
49:19You know, and allow the current to just move him to the side.
49:25So, this here is Miara again.
49:28And, look at this.
49:29You see how the waves are running?
49:32Perpendicular to the, not coming onto shore, but running.
49:36No way.
49:36So, this is typical of Miara.
49:39You cannot bathe in this area.
49:41This is what you call a hot mess area in Miara.
49:45And, very dangerous.
49:47Look at the churning sand.
49:49All right.
49:50So, once you see the sand is churning with the water, just about 20, 30 feet behind the shoreline, you know that that's a danger.
49:59Look at the river right there.
50:01That's a river.
50:02So, to the right, you see where there's a break in that way.
50:05To the left, you're seeing where the wave is breaking up.
50:09And, you can actually see the water.
50:12Captain, then why are persons taking the chance of going in that?
50:18Look at it there.
50:19Look at how it's churning the water.
50:21The waves are broken up there.
50:23Water is trying to force its way back out to sea, and that's causing the current there.
50:27Now, somebody who's experienced as I am, I could walk with persons and say, all right, don't bathe here.
50:33Don't bathe here.
50:33The other thing I want to talk to you about to you, you'll have lots of people in Miara for the carnivores.
50:39Well, yes, of course.
50:39Listen, if the producer could come back to me, please avoid areas with rivers.
50:47Those areas are lower than the coastline, and that's favorable for currents.
50:53The water can easily rush ashore without resistance.
50:57Create a channel to run back.
50:59That's one area to avoid.
51:00And, the second thing is, look for a straight line in the shore.
51:04There's a line of seaweed there now.
51:07Look and make sure it's straight.
51:08Anytime you see it bend in like this, stay away from the bend.
51:13Because, it's in that indentation that you will get the current.
51:18So, it looks like a lowercase jay?
51:19A lowercase jay, yes.
51:21Okay.
51:21So, please avoid any.
51:23Now, it's prevalent in bays.
51:24Not Maracas Bay, where you have a big bay.
51:27But, like in Miara, where you have a series of bays coming down.
51:32You have indentation 1 bay.
51:34You might have Indian bay lower down.
51:36So, different directions, of course, where the water will be going,
51:40will cause the currents to take place.
51:43Yeah.
51:43Even if you are not, you may see that there's not a rip current.
51:47By the time you make your way out, a rip current occurs.
51:51No, no.
51:52It will always be there.
51:53It will always be there.
51:54Okay.
51:54It will always be there.
51:55So, a rip current is only about 100 feet from the shoreline.
52:02And, I don't know if Jackie has two images that I had sent,
52:06which will show it in terms of a graphical representation.
52:12That shows how the water channels and creates two sandbars on the side.
52:16So, you could easily move to one side and stand up on the sandbar,
52:21get out of the channel.
52:22The channel is nothing more than about 10 to 12 feet wide.
52:26Understood.
52:26So, persons, if caught in a rip current, the best thing to do is not panic,
52:32which is the hardest thing to do.
52:33Yes.
52:33Because that's the first reaction.
52:35Yeah.
52:35But, really and truly, relax.
52:37Relax.
52:37And, if you have the ability to float, just float easily and get to the side.
52:44And, in addition to your safety kit, what a person should always have going to the beach is a rope.
52:50You see, brother said he was fighting.
52:52He was fighting.
52:53And then, all of a sudden, he disappeared.
52:55But, if the brother had a rope, you just say, brother, hold that and throw it for him to hold on.
53:01I know you always stress on that.
53:02Anywhere I go, I talk about ropes.
53:05All the time.
53:0610 to 12 feet of rope is important.
53:07So, you could have just thrown it to him.
53:10And, he may have been able to save his life.
53:14Yes, of course.
53:15I'm sure we don't have the photos right now, but I'm sure we'll be able to use it on the next time you visit,
53:20that we could show persons with the visitors.
53:22And, even tomorrow, we could use it and we will mention it, again, from what you spoke about here today.
53:27And, before we get off the topic of the outdoors,
53:30I know I'm head of the communications and the police service with Joanna Archie, Ms. Joanna Archie.
53:39She would have sent something for us to review with respect to hiking.
53:42And, when that is done, I know she would send it on to you all so you all could discuss it in the few days before the carnival period.
53:53Because, now is hiking time.
53:55And, now is the time we have to practice the safety to ensure that everybody goes there and hikes and returns home safely.
54:03What can you tell the foreigners who are visiting here,
54:06especially when they want to go to different areas throughout the country, that they want to explore?
54:11Right. So, if you're hiking, go to the Hiking Association website.
54:16They have a listing of all the hiking groups that can cater to your needs,
54:21but also look after your safety and take care of every aspect of your stay here in Trinidad
54:27in terms of exploration of the outdoor.
54:30So, go to the Hiking Association website and it is currently updated and just browse through, you will get all the trails.
54:41Yes.
54:42There are 156 trails in Trinidad and Tobago and you will get all the trails.
54:47Don't go on any trail by yourself.
54:49Contact one of the guides, one of the hiking groups and they will take you safely to your destination.
54:55For you to enjoy the experience, which is what we want people to do.
54:59Very important to do.
55:00We have a caller.
55:01This is the final call.
55:02Caller.
55:02Caller.
55:03It's gone.
55:04Now, Captain, you can speak to the public, give them more information as we get ready to wrap things up
55:08on protecting themselves for this season.
55:11You know, it's Bacchanal season.
55:12Yes, and that's the one I'm concerned about, right?
55:15So, you know, like, well, the FETs have been going pretty okay thus far,
55:21but once the actual carnival experience begins at 4 o'clock Monday morning,
55:27you have to look out for the trucks on the road.
55:29That's the number one area that has caused a lot of incidents.
55:35We've had revelers been crushed to death by these music trucks.
55:41Stay away from the music truck.
55:43They're heavy.
55:44They're loaded.
55:46And there's a lot of noise.
55:48So the drivers would not be able to hear what's going on.
55:51So stay away from the music trucks.
55:54Again, move in groups and consume your alcohol conservatively so that you remain alert at all times
56:04while enjoying the experience.
56:06And then as you move from Juve to the mass bands,
56:12revelers have to pay attention to who they are with all the time.
56:17Make sure that you stay with persons who you know.
56:21Yes, and that is very important.
56:23And just a reminder to all our viewers,
56:25this was here in Trinidad and Tobago regionally and also internationally,
56:29that we want you all to know the importance that we want to make sure that persons understand
56:35that when you come to Trinidad and Tobago for the carnival season,
56:40you need to adhere to all the rules.
56:42The same way when we come to your country, we have to do the same.
56:46So pay attention.
56:47Listen to the TTPS with all the information being sent out.
56:49And don't forget, we are going to take a short break from Carnival Thursday to Ash Wednesday.
56:55So you'll see us back after that.
56:56Right now, we get ready for news coming up next at 7 o'clock.
57:00TNT will be back tomorrow, same time, same place.
57:03See you then.
57:04God bless.
57:04God bless.
57:04God bless.
57:05God bless.
57:19God bless.
57:35God bless.
