02:40your money. Straight off the bat, Mondays at 8.30 p.m. on TV6. Brought to you by the Bankers
02:46Association of Trinidad and Tobago. Violence has moved online. Abusers now use technology
02:54to stalk, harass and control. From demanding passwords and constant check-ins to sharing
03:01intimate images without consent. This is digital abuse. It's a real and growing threat, especially
03:09for younger women. Let's learn to identify red flags and protect our loved ones in the virtual world.
03:24Slavery, a terrible time in our history. The kidnapping, buying and selling of people
03:33for profit, the exploitation of another human being. It still exists today. It has a new
03:39name, human trafficking. Anyone can be a victim. There is forced labor, sexual exploitation and
03:49domestic servitude. Human trafficking is a worldwide problem and an emerging concern for us here in
03:57Trinidad and Tobago. If you know of or suspect human trafficking activity, call the counter-trafficking
04:04hotline at 800-4CTU or 800-4288. Human trafficking is a crime. Identify it. Report it. Stop it.
04:15A message from the counter-trafficking unit of the Ministry of National Security.
04:32Welcome to Beyond the Tape. I'm your host, Mark Bessand. Welcome to our viewers across Trinidad and
04:36Tobago, our international viewers, and of course, our brothers and sisters in the Isles of Grenada.
04:42And before I go any further, of course, I had a brief interaction with some officers from the
04:46Western Division last night, and I have to say thank you so much for your due care, your
04:52professionalism, and your courteousness. All right. So, over the weekend, we had, unfortunately,
05:00a road traffic accident involving Simone Rose of Maloney, 45 years of age, died in a vehicle accident.
05:09And we also had the unfortunate homicide of a stabbing of a young man in the George Street
05:17area over the weekend. So, you know, it was with some incident. Of course, joining us today
05:25is none other than Captain Valence Rambert of the Hunter's Search and Rescue team. I know
05:30you had a very hectic weekend.
05:31Yes, Mark. Pleasant good evening to our viewers on TV6 and Beyond the Tape. It was very hectic.
05:37Over the last seven days, we've had six search days in some terrain that is unbelievable in
05:45the Heights of Guanapu as well as in the Wall of the District. But before I go into it, Mark,
05:50I know today's anniversary for both you and I, I made my debut on Beyond the Tape on the 7th
05:57of October. And I'm now hearing from you that as the host, you also made your debut. So,
06:04congratulations to you.
06:06Same to you.
06:06And, you know, I recall the day vividly. And I think our producer, Jackie, literally threw me
06:13like the proverbial baby in the bathtub and said, Captain, do your thing. And so I want
06:20to thank our producer, Jackie, for the guidance and you as well for tutoring me in terms of
06:26the flow of the program and being on set and how to keep timing. And you did a good job.
06:34So here I am one year later. I missed one episode during that time. And you would recall, I had
06:41to go to Tobago on a rescue mission.
06:44Somebody standing for you. And of course, if you didn't bring it to my attention, I also forgot it's
06:49actually a year today that I started to host the program. And no doubt, we have a very hardworking
06:55team behind us, the producer, Jackie and company. And obviously, yes, there are a lot of people that come
07:01on this program, Captain. And, you know, a little bit jittery with the cameras, but you've become
07:06a natural over the last year, I have to tell you.
07:08Yeah, but thanks very much. I know, I know you would have assisted and the program would have
07:12assisted. I'm back on my way up this afternoon. We encountered, we were just in the right spot,
07:19an accident on the northbound in the Freeport District. And this incident occurred just in
07:26front of us. And there it is, we had to get out of the vehicle and assist those who were two,
07:32we have two injured on the ground. I know the gentleman in the white, he told me who his aunt was.
07:39And this gentleman seemed to have a badly injured knee. So those who are expecting loved ones home,
07:47heading from south to north, you can expect a buildup. And the police officers were there
07:54immediately. And an ambulance came probably about five minutes later and was still injured.
08:00So I hope that both parties would have been injured, but not too badly.
08:04Yeah. So, Mark, with respect to our missions and this six-day continuous search, six days of searching,
08:11we continued to search for Durresford Dennis Prince. And that took us quite a few days in the heights of
08:20Guanapo. As you can see, we're high up here in the mountains. We went in there with the Trinidad
08:24Bico Defense Force friends and our team. And we found his timber scaffolding
08:35on one end of the mountain. And we did not locate anything there. We knew he was there by
08:44his water bottle, signature water bottle, the way he prepares his timber scaffolding. And then,
08:52on Saturday, we went into, we moved from heights of Guanapo, this is it here, into heights of Aripu,
09:00walking. And you're looking at a very steep mountain, a stair in there. We met one of the most highly
09:08venomous snakes in Trinidad, the mappipi balsina, right around where these guys are walking there.
09:17It was seven grueling hours, but we met a breadfoot field and we saw again his signature scaffolding.
09:24So when we came out of the forest, after that seven-hour trip on that Saturday, we convinced that
09:32he came out of the forest. And so we spoke to the investigators. And we, you know, they have to
09:39know that he isn't lying somewhere on the forest floor. We did a tremendous job in terms of scoring
09:46the entire area. You're talking about lots of square kilometers. And you're talking about really, you
09:52know, having a good team out there to get the job done. And so we, we intermixed those days with another
09:59guy who is missing junior Mitchell. He is from Moon and Trees in the, um, in the Wallerfield district.
10:06And he would normally use a truck to get home. And, um, this is the size of the team. We were out there
10:12with the police. I think this is Thursday we were out there. And then on yesterday when we thought we
10:18would have a rest there. And if producer Jackie, if you could pull back that video a little bit, let's
10:23show the dog a bit. This dog has been pointing us on this search to certain areas. Notice the dog
10:33remained with us throughout the search on Tuesday night and yesterday. Now, yesterday when we thought
10:39we would have had a restful Sunday, um, Homicide as well as the Aroka police station called for our
10:47assistance to go into a different area, we went and we came back. We, we started late evening,
10:534 30 a.m. And this is us, um, you know, checking all the ponds in the area. It's a, it's a gravel.
11:01It's one of those quarry areas. And, um, we were, yeah, so up till late last night, we were in the
11:08Wallerfield district trying to locate, um, Junior Mitchell. So for those of you who are looking on,
11:15please contact 799-1453. This is the big team we had. This is our team. Plus we had friends. We had
11:23Trinidad-Debego Defense Force there with us in Heights of Aripu. And that's a mountain top there.
11:30Yeah. Um, so it was really adious. It was, we enjoyed it because, you know, it's scenic. And, um, we could
11:36not find, um, Darius Ford Prince. And we're still looking for Junior Mitchell. So if you're out there,
11:42um, you're in the Wallerfield district, um, please contact 799-1453. The family is really
11:50distraught, both families. And they need your help to assist in locating their loved ones.
11:58All right. Well, on a much more upbeat note, Captain, we had a, we had a miraculous rescue of
12:05an eight-year-old girl by a civilian and two police officers, uh, PCs, Taylor and Neptune,
12:11when she fell into the river, just a tri-river there, uh, along Piccadilly Street. And officers
12:18who were on patrol, uh, responded. It was, uh, the river carried her quite a ways from,
12:24I think, from the Belmont area down through here. Yeah. And it was, these officers, of course,
12:31risked their lives together with another civilian, uh, to ensure that this eight-year-old girl,
12:36um, was, was secured and taken out of the river there. Uh, really amazing stuff by these officers.
12:46Uh, I know that the commissioner of police would have sent out a release, uh, commend,
12:52commending the heroic actions of these persons. And of course, they are being, uh, given commendations,
12:58here by the commissioner with, uh, Minister of Homeland Security, Roger Alexander, also there,
13:03uh, as well as DCP Martin and DCP Benjamin. I think that was DCP George, uh, not in her uniform,
13:11but clearly, uh, a really courageous act, selfless act. Uh, it's a really, um, you know,
13:16it's a very uplifting moment, uh, that the, you know, they were able to save this eight-year-old girl's life,
13:23um, because falling into that river and traveling for such a long distance. I understand it's a
13:28kilometer. From the Gonzales and Ruffley. That is amazing. Thank God she was returning safely to
13:34her family. And, you know, we just want to say, uh, hats off to those officers and the civilian, um,
13:41who assisted, uh, Mr. Dillon Ramsey of Cori Street in Port of Spain. We also want to thank you, um, for also
13:48assisting these officers and ensuring that that young child was rescued and, uh, she's now safely
13:54back in the arms of her parents. Yeah, and commendations to, um, police officers, um, Taylor and Neptune,
14:02as well as, um, Mr. Ramsey, is it? Yes. The civilian, um, well done. I woke up this morning to this good
14:08news and God alone knows that this country cannot take another death with respect to our child.
14:14And I was so, so pleased that these officers and the civilian responded immediately now to travel
14:23one kilometer in a drain. And I understand Pat was underground and to be, to be rescued. I mean,
14:32that's, um, that's just a miracle. Yeah. And, um, it reminded me about, I believe in 2023 when both
14:40another teammate and I would have rescued Jenison Murray. She traveled 2.1 kilometers down a river
14:46down in Erin and we got her alive at 8, 10 a.m. the next morning. She fell into the ravine at 5,
14:538, 5 p.m. the afternoon and we got her 8, 10 a.m. the next morning on the river. So these are heroic acts.
15:01There are so many heroes amongst us and commendations to the police officers and the civilian for doing
15:08what was necessary. Right. In a different capacity, of course, we also want to highlight
15:14ACP Richard Smith's, uh, given a commendation by the commissioner for firearms and ammunition.
15:20Let's take a, let's take a look.
15:27I'd just like to extend my congratulations to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Richard Smith.
15:31Thank you, sir. And his team, the Special Operations Unit. Yes, sir.
15:34For the magnificent job that they are continuing to do during the SOE in supporting
15:40the Trader and Tobago Police Affairs efforts in reducing crime and taking weapons like this
15:45off the streets and from the hands of criminals. Trader and Tobago,
15:49this is what my officers are faced with when we are outside. This is what they are faced with
15:54when they meet the criminal element and they are forced to react. Thankfully, on this occasion,
16:01this person decided to do the correcting and surrender to the police. So I would like to say
16:07kudos to the hardworking officers. Despite what is being bandied about into the public, we still
16:12continue to have hardworking and dedicated officers who continue to fly the flag of the Trader and Tobago
16:18Police Service. Hi. These officers have been working since yesterday and this is the third operation
16:24that they have done since yesterday, during the past 24 hours. Yesterday, they were able to recover
16:29almost $200,000 in narcotics in the Southern and Central Division. So, you know, kudos to the officers
16:36again. You know, thank you so much for the support. Thank you for supporting the Commissioner
16:39and thank you for supporting our country to make Trader and Tobago a better place.
16:43Good work there by the officers. We always have to, you know, as the Commissioner said, there's always
16:57these connotations, negative connotations about the TTPS. But in this instance, you know, those are
17:03high-powered weapons and getting those weapons off the street as well as the ammunition, you know,
17:08driven on intelligence and information that they would have gotten. We really have to say hats off
17:13to those officers. Yeah, commendations to them as well. And these are the type of weapons, you know,
17:18they committed to removing off the streets. Mark, in my interaction with police officers,
17:24the vast majority are hardworking. Yesterday, Superintendent Douglas, who is head of homicide for,
17:31I believe, region one. Right. He was with us smashing bush. He was foot to foot with us in the quarry
17:40in Wallafield yesterday, a Sunday evening when he should be relaxing probably because he has an
17:47administrative post. He was there with us. So, I am so happy that ECP Smiths and his crew,
17:54they were commended and those weapons look, you know, those are the type of weapons that are in the
18:01criminal's hands and I really pray for our police officers all the time. Yes, indeed. All right,
18:08it's day 81 of the state of emergency. We want to bring you up to speed with the figures. Number of
18:16operations 5,760. Priority offenders targeted 2,065. Searches conducted 37,178. Traffic operations 3,815.
18:29Total persons arrested 2,572. Traffic offenses detected 21,962. Firearms recovered total 154. We had a
18:40rise in pistols. 70 recovered there and 20 rifles. Ammunition recovered today, 1852 rounds. We had a
18:48rise in the 9mm round Z923. Dangerous drugs seized 464,675.62 grams of marijuana, 8,228.18 grams of cocaine,
19:021,032 STC pills and 15 grams of molly. Right. So, I'm not too sure if this figure here includes the
19:10drug bust that occurred in the palace. Yes, yes it does. It was reflected a few days ago. Right. So,
19:16there's a big jump indeed and commendations to the police officers and the hard work they're doing
19:24during the state of emergency. All right, let's take a quick look now at our headlights.

22:44Welcome, Mark, to be on the tape. I'm your host, Mark. My son, of course, joined today by Captain
22:48Valence Rambarat of the Hunter's Search on the Rescue Team. I think you're going to take us through the
22:52missing persons for the month of September and October. Yes, Mark. And while we had a little lower
22:59than average reports of missing persons for September, we've seen an increase in terms of persons not being
23:11located. So we had 27 reports of missing persons for September 2025. And thus far, we still have 13,
23:20a large number outstanding. And that is nothing in keeping with what the data should reflect.
23:28Included in this mark is some of the missing children, some of the children's home. And I'll speak to that in a while.
23:34Right. But we still have Imra's club's alley, still outstanding. We've stopped all fee searches for him.
23:42I know there's ongoing investigations. And we've exhausted all leads. So if you have information,
23:49please contact the police or 799-1453. He's still outstanding.
23:56Karina Sinanan remains outstanding. And there's a tremendous amount of work being done by the police service to get her back home.
24:04Karina Sinanan remains outstanding. And she remains outstanding. And we still have
24:09Gujian Wang outstanding. And there has been no information with respect to him being located.
24:22And so, you know, because of the language barrier, we're having problems. But I know the police is dealing with this case.
24:29But if you have information, you can still call the police or 799-1453.
24:36And, Mark, we have a few of these children who would have basically run away from the children's home.
24:43Natalie Richardson, who was last seen in the La Hocketa area, is 17. We have J.J. Alam, who is still outstanding.
24:52He was last seen in the Santa Cruz district. We have Miley Castillo, age 16, who is still outstanding and last seen in the Enterprise district.
25:06Then we come to Andy Gerard. And so we have the teenage runaway girls. And then the other category that is of big concern to us is always the elderly bracket.
25:18And so Andy Gerard is still outstanding. We know he is alive and out there somewhere.
25:25Maybe he would have become homeless, taken to a shelter somewhere on the streets.
25:32But if you spot Andy Gerard, please call us at 799-1453.
25:38And Salim Jack is of concern with us. We did contact his mother again to find out what's the latest.
25:50Nobody has seen Salim Jack since the 6th of September.
25:55He's from the Old Town Road, Arima District area, and he's still outstanding.
26:01So if you have any information, call the Arima Police Station or 799-1453.
26:09And then we have Jose Rackina. I spoke to his relative this morning and they still have no idea of where he is.
26:19We have no leads on him. We know he was from the Arima District.
26:25So if you spot this gentleman, he's a Venezuelan national, please call the Arima Police Station or 799-1453.
26:35Well, we dealt with Derisford and Prince, as I indicated in the earlier part of the program.
26:40We are now convinced that Derisford and Prince made it out of the forests and heights of Guanapo.
26:49And therefore, we still seek a lot of information. The police is very active on this case as well.
26:57And please call West End Police Station or 799-1453 if you have information.
27:06KC Smith remains outstanding. KC is familiar to us. She's a repeated runaway teenager from the Diggomarton District.
27:17And there was a sighting of her on the Bandlera Promenade District.
27:22But by the time we got there, we were not able to locate KC Smith.
27:27So, KC, you know us well. Please return to your mother's home.
27:32All right. And then we dealt with Junior Smith. Now, Junior Smith is familiar to most persons in the Wallerfield District.
27:45And he would normally walk on the highway, use a forested pathway to get to his home.
27:52And, you know, we really focus on searching for him.
27:57Homicide has joined the search as well. And they're really trying their best.
28:02But if you have information, people call us, Mark.
28:05But we got some information yesterday. We acted on it. But it didn't yield anything.
28:11Please call Arruka Police Station or 799-1453.
28:17Just ask for Sergeant Ramuta there, the Arruka Police Station.
28:21And then we have Emily Ali. I don't even remember this case, Mark, where Emily would have gone missing on a video surface of her, you know, in her car in the Bagatelle District.
28:34Yes, that was a couple of months away.
28:36Yeah. So she has gone missing again. And just to wrap up this segment with a statement, I have real concerns about these children's homes.
28:47I raised it already. And, you know, when these girls leave these homes unknown to persons, my concern is, you know, what's going on there?
28:59I have no evidence. The evidence is simply the number of girls who run away from these homes. And something needs, you know, I don't know if it's the level of security, the level of care, the level of attention, but something is not working right.
29:17And I raised that concern publicly.
29:20Yeah, well, certainly there's something probably indicative of what they are going through there that might have made them want to leave that institution.
29:28That institution, those institutions.
29:29Something, because if you're seeing a pattern emerging over a period of time, you have to ask yourself certain questions.
29:35So we're asking for, you know, some intervention at that level to reduce the amount of teenage runaway girls leaving these homes and boys leaving the homes.
29:46Yeah. We don't want to forget October.
29:48Oh, yeah. Oh, sorry. October. Well, we've had two reports thus far for October.
29:53And these two persons, again, an elderly gentleman from the Mount Hope District and these elderly folks are of concern to us.
30:01And so if you know Mr. Louis Nichols and you have information, please call the police station, nearest police station or 799-1453.
30:13And then we have Christopher Rampasad. Again, we'll look at the age, age 70, and watch the date. Look at the date he was last, he went missing.
30:22It was only reported a couple of days ago to us.
30:26Right.
30:27So he's from the Pinale Rock Road area. I contacted the Pinale police station. They're doing their checks as well. But we need to get Mr. Christopher Rampasad home.
30:37So Pinale Rock Road, I think down there everybody knows each other well. And, you know, call us at 799-1453 if you know the whereabouts of Christopher Rampasad.
30:49All right. So on that note, we're going to take a short break and we'll be back. Stay with us.

34:08Welcome back to Beyond the Tape. I'm your host, Mark Bussan, joined today by Captain Valence Rambert of the Hunter Search and Rescue Team.
34:26And we're going to quickly go to your favorite segment, Voice of the People in San Fernando. Let's go.
34:31Okay, we just want to get your idea. What do you think about the police officers now in these schools?
34:58I agree with the police. In the school, 100%. Because the children nowadays, they have no respect for the elders, some of the parents and all, and even their teachers.
35:13So I agree with the police being in school. And I disagree with the bullying. The bullying is bad. Very bad. Very, very bad.
35:25What do you think? What do you think could be done by communities to make the communities safer?
35:32Well, communities should come together and form a group of police. A community group to look out for one another in the community.
35:46How do you think motorists could aid in reducing accidents and roadways?
35:52Stop speeding.
35:53Sorry?
35:54Stop speeding.
35:55Alright.
35:56Stop bad driving one another on the roads.
35:58What should be the penalty for persons who continuously breach traffic regulations? Do you think they should have safer penalties for them? Repeat offenders?
36:07Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. And why? Yes. Because sometimes you charge them and they go back and do the same thing.
36:17Mm-hmm. Should there be a mandatory program for these kind of drivers to continuously breach the law like to send them to a program to learn certain things?
36:26Yeah. Yeah. Because we consider training them over to drive and take them.
36:35And learning other things as well?
36:36Yeah.
36:37Have you ever been a victim of crime in any way?
36:42No. So far so.
36:46Right. So far so good. Thank God. Have you ever been a victim of a scam?
36:51No.
36:52I was trying to be very careful outside here.
36:57Right.
36:58The last question is, you know a lot of people go on online and marketplace and they buy items or they want people to sell items, right?
37:07Mm-hmm.
37:08And you know that in the last couple of years, a lot of people have been robbed, attacked, even killed.
37:12Yeah.
37:13What is your advice to persons that are going about doing these kind of things? What do you think they should do better?
37:20All right.
37:21Find out more about the people that you're purchasing from. And you shouldn't go in lonely places and things to purchase from people. And even if you tell them to drop it home for you, you have to be careful concerning that.
37:43All right.
37:44Some people here tell them to drop it home for you and still come and try to rob you. Although I don't buy nothing online.
37:53All right. Thank you so much for your time.
38:03Voice of the people, Captain.
38:05Yeah, Mark. The person who you interviewed seemed very circumspect about safety and seems to be very well aware of the situation in the country and seems to have protected herself.
38:21She's a very learned person because, you know, she spoke about the police in the school and she said, you know, there is total, no, I shouldn't say total disrespect.
38:31There is disrespect at the level of students with respect to how they interact with adults, including she spoke about how parents as well.
38:41Yeah.
38:42Interact with, you know, the school community and there's a high level of, you know, disrespect. So, you know, she understands the situation in the school system and she agrees with the fact that there's this police initiative in the schools.
38:59I saw a video, Mark, where, you know, a police woman was playing badminton with some of the students. And I said to myself, that's a great initiative by that police woman.
39:12That's how you interact with students. That's how you gain their trust. That's how you gain their respect. And chances are that none of those students who she's interacting with will disappoint her in terms of the school behaviour.
39:28And I thought that was really, really commendable. And she spoke about community, you know, you know, building, having community meetings.
39:37And I think at the level of the community, if you live on a particular street, you look out for those in that street.
39:44You know, you be aware, you know, if there's a strange vehicle packed up for a long time in your community, you report it.
39:51And, you know, those are good, good things to do. Make sure that, you know, even if you do have a camera system, you know, your neighbour has one and you all could cooperate and, you know, share knowledge.
40:03But protecting yourselves is very important. She hit the nail on the head with respect to accidents.
40:09She said, speeding, full stop. And of course, some of the measures you could take is, you know, retraining drivers, which is good, and taking them through some of these programs to rehabilitate them.
40:21But I agree with her fully. The accident we witnessed on the way up.
40:25Yeah.
40:26I was straight speeding because the gentleman told me the guy served in front of him.
40:30And so with respect to scamming, she doesn't do online business. But she said, you know, be aware of your surroundings. Do not go in lonely areas and purchase items from people.
40:45Be careful. And I tell you, she's intelligent. Be careful how you're purchasing things and have it delivered home because that in itself opens up your home and yourself to some sort of crime.
40:58So you have to be very, very careful. You know, a lot of online businesses who deliver and, you know, this is a big business in Trinidad now, Korea Services.
41:08So just use the trusted ones.
41:10Incidentally, that lady has been selling at the top of High Street since I was actually in primary school.
41:16And I remember her selling, she's now selling clothing before she used to sell snacks and so on and remembered everything.
41:24Right.
41:25That's in the days of when it was well worth.
41:27Oh, yeah, yeah. Well, I'll be familiar with her as well. I'm sure.
41:31All right. We're going to take a short break. And when we get back, we'll have more still with us.
41:35There's huge bubbles all over New York City. Sources are linking this to the new Colossal Bubble Mascara.

43:36Welcome to the 6 to 26 World Cup Podcast with Andre, Errol Batiste and Tony Lee.
44:14Welcome back to Beyond the Tape. I'm your host, Mark Bassan, joined today by Captain Valence Rambath of the Hunter, Search and Rescue Team. Just want to remind you, sorry, of the numbers to call. 623-1711, extensions 1996 and 1997.
44:28All right. We just want to show you a video. We're not sure what was happening, but it entails some police officers as well as licensing officers seem to have had a civilian on the ground there.
44:41I don't know if he was resisting arrest. I am not familiar with the entire incident. This was caught, I guess, in the middle of this fracker.
44:51And, you know, we have the licensing officers and everybody on him.
44:54And there's a uniformed officer also there, as well as another officer in a black with a bulletproof vest on as well.
45:01So, you know, they have apprehended the person, it seems like. Captain?
45:08Yeah, we are now aware of the circumstances. I'm not too sure if there's, you know, overuse of force there.
45:16But it could have been that the driver was aggressive during a roadblock because it had to be a roadblock where license officers are present.
45:26And he could have been on cooperative and probably stepped out and probably challenged the officers as well.
45:33So we are now aware, but, you know, it was quite a lot of officers.
45:37So it appeared as if that it may have been an overuse of force on the gentleman.
45:43All right. All right. I think we have our first caller on the line.
45:48Caller, good evening and welcome to be on the tape.
45:55Why, Caller?
46:05Caller, you seem to be cutting in and out. So we are getting bits and pieces of your conversation.
46:13Yeah. Unfortunately, Caller, you'll have to try it back. I think something is wrong with the line there.
46:18Yeah, it seems so.
46:20So, yeah.
46:23All right. So we're going to move back to our second video.
46:28This is the aftermath of a home invasion in the Kunupia area court last week.
46:35So there's a van there. It seems that the van is perhaps involved and there are at least four individuals fleeing the scene of a home invasion,
46:43all with their hoodies, placing articles they may have stolen into the tray of the van and driving off.
46:50I don't know if you can make out the number plate, possibly, I'm sure, false number plates.
46:56But if you have any information involving this crime, do not hesitate to contact the nearest police station, 800-TIPS or 999.
47:06There is one culprit jumping over the fence and three others on the roadway.
47:12It appears one of the culpits might be a woman.
47:17It seems so, Mark. I'm looking at that as well and I'm not sure. May or may not be so.
47:26Yeah. So, of course, if you have any information, because this has become a huge concern in Trinidad and Tobago,
47:32home invasions, which has, you know, it's become something of a popular trend for a lot of these criminals now operating in gangs,
47:39operating in groups, sorry, where they would, you know, scope out a neighborhood or a house or a person,
47:46look at their activities and then strike.
47:49Yeah. And I'm looking at the video and made note of the fact that it's daylight.
47:54And, you know, my comment previously said that, you know, if you have good neighbors around,
48:00I'm sure you have CCTV footage around, I'm sure these criminals could be nabbed by the police,
48:09even though they have hoodies, you have the, you know, you could get the number plate of the vehicle,
48:12even though it says false, possibly identify some of these persons who perpetrated this crime.
48:20Yeah, don't worry. Don't worry. They will find them.
48:23I'm sure they will find them at some point because that vehicle will be looked at.
48:27Even if it's up with the false number plates, they will be able to, you know, the color of the vehicle, heavily tinted.
48:32And I'm sure the officers are doing due diligence in Central there to try to locate that vehicle.
48:38And, of course, those culprits involved in that home invasion last week in the Kenupia area.
48:44So you spoke about earlier about the accident along the northbound lane.
48:49And we have a couple of accidents.
48:51To show you one in that famous spot on Arapita Avenue by the traffic lights between Arapita and Anna Street.
48:58Right? Cars coming down, the light here is red.
49:04But guess what? Seems that that person might be colorblind.
49:09Because to me, the light is red.
49:11Yes, it is.
49:11And he goes gingerly across on, look at this.
49:17So the first guy broke the light.
49:19The second one also broke the light, heading in a westerly direction.
49:22So even, and this driver who was heading in a southerly direction with the SUV, saw the light in green and he took a while to come out.
49:32Yeah.
49:32Proceeding with caution and still this person.
49:37Who had the red light.
49:39Had the red light continued.
49:41Continued, right?
49:42And from, I don't understand.
49:44There's negligence and that is not, that is unacceptable.
49:49And this is a busy intersection.
49:51Yes.
49:52And as you pointed out, it is an area prone to accidents.
49:57But both drivers, first the driver, that first driver, he broke the light and then this one here.
50:04Yes, and I can't comprehend, because you cannot see any vehicles coming out, setting in that southerly direction.
50:11The first driver, that is.
50:12He took his time.
50:12And then there are vehicles parked here, also obscuring your view.
50:16This is by the, there's a cafe there.
50:18Yes, exactly right.
50:19And the corner there, right?
50:20So there are people, patrons, all just sitting and hanging out there.
50:23But when you park your vehicles like this too, you are coming in a southerly direction.
50:28You cannot see whether or not cars are coming from that westerly direction, right?
50:33And of course, that person heading in the westerly direction, obviously saw the light, was red and still proceeded.
50:41Yeah, and so there's a charge for dangerous driving.
50:44And therefore, that driver should be charged, because he placed a lot of lives in danger during this accident.
50:53And yes, look at it.
50:55A lot of lives.
50:56So he hit that vehicle, and he also ran into a parked vehicle across the street.
51:01Across the road.
51:02So, I mean, that is indiscretion.
51:05That is careless.
51:06It's reckless.
51:08And yeah, God forbid he could have killed someone.
51:10Yeah, patrons right there sitting, enjoying themselves.
51:13You know, a vehicle could have, you know, swooped there and slam into them as well.
51:19Dangerous driving, Mark, and that person should be charged.
51:22I hope they are charged.
51:23All right, so we also have another accident to show you guys.
51:29Of course, this is what happened.
51:32Nnedi Piako intersection there.
51:34The light is green.
51:36All right.
51:37And then this happens.
51:39So, two police vehicles, I mean, the siren, we're not sure if they had any sirens on, but they were coming across there, and obviously light was red.
51:48So, the police officers, in this respect, would perhaps have to bear some kind of responsibility.
51:55I'm not certain, because if you don't have your sirens on, and these motorists have the right away, well, if their sirens are on, the motorists should have heeded the call to proceed with caution or to stop altogether and allow the vehicles to proceed, the police vehicles.
52:15But, of course, we're not sitting.
52:17Yeah, I think if most of the times, well, I've seen it on the highway all the time, when the police, because they do have on their sirens, you know, it's a giveaway.
52:27They're coming through, they're probably on an emergency run, they need to get to their destination quickly.
52:34I mean, and so, and I'm sure this is the instance here, but probably the driver did not hear the siren.
52:42Yeah, likely.
52:42And, you know, sometimes your glass is up, you're listening to music, and you're not paying full attention.
52:49But, I think when these police jeeps and vehicles proceed, when the light is on red, it's simply because they want to get to our destination.
53:02I'm just wondering what happens in a situation that when you as a motorist have the right away, and you're struck by a police vehicle, I imagine police still has some kind of help to help you with the damage to your vehicle.
53:16Yeah, I guess so, because the driver of the vehicle, who proceeded on green, really and truly did no wrong.
53:24Yeah.
53:25All right, I think we have a call on the line.
53:27Caller, good evening, and welcome to be on the table.
53:30Good afternoon.
53:31Good afternoon.
53:32Afternoon, ma'am.
53:34Afternoon.
53:34I have a question.
53:36I have a German shepherd.
53:39And, you know, he gets away and he leaves and I don't care for it now two weeks.
53:46But, I put it on air and so on.
53:48So, we got a call sometimes that this person have it.
53:54So, we went at the person's residence to get the dog.
54:00So, he shut the dog and we saw the dog.
54:05It's our dog.
54:05So, then I asked him, not for the dog.
54:10He said, the dog eats two sheep for him, 150 chickens and 50 dogs.
54:18So, he stand up, he talk, he talk.
54:20I said, how much do you want for whatever.
54:24But, he said, 19,000.
54:29I said, 19,000 and I can see what the dog eats.
54:32Because, where I am living, it's our dog, it's our dog, it's our sheep, he acting, all these things and he does not.
54:42So, then, when we go back to his place, that place stands from which I am gay and all these kind of things.
54:51So, I don't know how he does get into his position.
54:55But, I didn't know what kind of person, I thought of a normal person, when I say normal, not know our criminality, so then we could have go and get the dog.
55:06But, when we went, we see it's different.
55:09So, then, when we call the police, they do not come 10 times.
55:14He tell me, they will come out the place and if we have paid 19,000, he will shoot the dog.
55:20Wow.
55:21Apparently, he took the dog, right in Botanical Gardens, I didn't know it's about a river or bridge or something down there.
55:29And, a neighbor tell me, he kill the dog and shoot the dog and kill the dog.
55:35So, we went to the police station, we made the call.
55:39We've been going, going and no answer.
55:43And, the other two officers who was with us who came, they went to him.
55:48He said, he let go the dog.
55:50So, I told him what transpired.
55:53So, he asked about the bridge, he didn't know.
55:56So, I said, I'll carry your hand, show your hand.
55:59They never go to see if he really shoot the dog or whatever.
56:04And, they never say, well, look into this, let me go TID, we make report.
56:09And, nobody never say, come and say something on one of the right signs.
56:16All right, Kola, we're running out of time, but I hope you leave your number so that we can have a police officer call you about this situation.
56:26And, clearly, it would be rather far-fetched for dogs to eat so many ducks and fowls in two weeks.
56:32Yeah, and $19,000 doesn't add up, right?
56:35That's ridiculous.
56:35So, there's something called cruelty to animals.
56:38Yes, it's in the law, and Mark, one of your guests will deal with that.
56:43Yeah, certainly, I know, and, you know, I just, we're talking about dogs, and when we showed that dog, that was at that point, you guys in that direction.
56:50That direction to assist.
56:51I thought about the paw and order challenge.
56:54I think the deadline was on Friday, I believe.
56:56Yes.
56:57But, that dog for detection skills.
56:59Excellent.
57:00Right?
57:00So, we have to learn to treat our animals well.
57:03Yes, most definitely.
57:05Anything you want to add just before we close off?
57:07Yeah, Mark, just to say that, you know, I think last year when I came on the program on the 7th of October, the murder rate would have been around 470.
57:19So, I just want to say, I took note of that because there was a lot of blood on our streets, and one year later, you know, when persons couldn't see at the end of the tunnel to this problem, this delight, we're now seeing some progress.
57:32Yes.
57:33Thanks a lot, Captain.
57:34Okay, remember, repeat tonight at 11.30.
