02:27You're worth it.
02:38Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
02:40And of course, those of you who are locked on globally,
02:42this is Beyond the Tape, and I'm your host, Whitney Husbands.
02:45Now, as of today, it is March 2nd, 2026.
02:48That means the mandatory fixed penalties are in full effect.
02:52So, persons who need to know about the 18-specified fixed penalties
02:56that you need to see about, you have approximately three to seven days
03:00to rectify that before they implement the fines on the said fixed penalty.
03:05Now, we will discuss more on that and give you more information
03:07when it comes to those fixed penalties specifically.
03:11And we hope that you're a lot of enjoyable and safe weekend.
03:13And the man who is with us each and every Monday
03:16is my co-host, the captain, El Capitan, Mr. Ambarat.
03:20Good evening to you, sir.
03:21Thanks very much, Whitney.
03:23And a pleasant good evening to our viewers on Beyond the Tape and TV6.
03:29Whitney, I think during the last week, we were very active.
03:33But, you know, I want to touch on the cricket yesterday.
03:35Yes, I know.
03:36And I want to say that despite West Indies losing against India,
03:40they did put up a terrific battle against them.
03:44And as you know, India is one of the top T20 teams in the world.
03:48And I think our display was good, making 195 on any T20 game is excellent.
03:55And then, you know, at the end of the day, they did put up a good fight.
04:00And when you lose in those circumstances, you don't feel depressed or disappointed.
04:05So, you see, there's hope for the rest of the season going forward.
04:08There is hope. And they put up a good show.
04:09It was a tremendous game.
04:12And also on the weekend, I will speak a bit about it later on.
04:18But the hunting season close.
04:19I took some time to visit some of the hunter's camps.
04:22I didn't do any videos on it.
04:24But I just make sure that hunters, you know, knew what they had to do on the last day,
04:29which was Saturday.
04:30So, it was a very nice weekend for me, outdoors, enjoying the cricket.
04:34And then spending a relaxing Sunday evening at home.
04:39You would believe how I'm happy to hear that because you didn't have the opportunity to relax.
04:42I needed that.
04:43But you need the rest as important.
04:44We need your own, you know.
04:45And rest is very important.
04:47Important.
04:47Now, you mentioned the end of the hunting season.
04:49And I know persons may still have some wild meat placed in their homes and their freezers somewhere.
04:56Are you still able to consume it even though?
04:58Yes, you can consume it.
04:59But just from, you can't consume the meat.
05:03Once you have 31 days, once the 31st of March reaches, you have to dispose of any.
05:08You have it.
05:09It becomes illegal to have it in your possession.
05:12But as of the 1st of March, you cannot hunt.
05:17You cannot enter the state's forest reserves to hunt.
05:21You are prohibited.
05:22And if caught, you can face substantial fines.
05:27And I'll tell you something.
05:29There's a reason why the season closes in February, Whitney.
05:32I know you like to learn these things.
05:34Of course, I'm ready to learn.
05:35With the onset of the dry season, it brings a lot of flowers, fruits, and the falling of nuts and
05:40feed.
05:41And animals, also human beings, we reproduce a lot when there's a lot of food around.
05:49And this now starts the mating and procreation season for these wildlife.
05:56And so, you know, the time out from the forest gives them enough time to reproduce, to nurture their young,
06:04and have them being young adults by the time the season opens in September.
06:08So we can hunt them.
06:09So we can hunt them.
06:10So there's a reason for everything.
06:12But I'll tell you something.
06:14Trinidad and Tobago has a really good wildlife management plan.
06:19It's not a vikivite thing.
06:21And if you study it and you look at it, as how I have looked at it, it's really a
06:26good wildlife plan.
06:27And it caters for sustainability.
06:30And it caters for, you know, future generations.
06:33Ensuring that future generations will have a good stock of wildlife to look at in the future.
06:43So persons, as we mentioned, you said they could have it at home.
06:46Of course, in their freezers until the 31st.
06:49Now, when it comes to selling in this period, could persons still sell?
06:53Yeah, you could still sell.
06:55I don't want to feel like I'm breaking the law.
06:57Yeah.
06:58You could still sell your wild meat.
06:59Somebody wants a piece of wild meat and you're able to have it home and sell it.
07:03But the main thing is that you cannot enter the state's forests to hunt and you cannot enter without permission.
07:12And therefore, it is incumbent on all hunters to continue to obey the law all the time.
07:20You know, there were two unfortunate incidents during the last hunting, during this hunting season.
07:26And I will speak to it because I'm totally against what happened.
07:30There were two ocelots that were shot this season.
07:33I saw that online.
07:34One in the Mathura area, that ocelot died, and then one in the Cedrus district.
07:40That was found with a gunshot wound on his shoulder and that is currently being attended to.
07:46Right?
07:47Why would persons try to kill?
07:48And the thing is, it's meat cannot be consumed by humans.
07:53But as I'm saying, it also wasn't possible.
07:54So, it has to either be an accident, accidental shooting, or it could be that the ocelot and Cedrus or
08:03Mathura was interfering with people's livestock.
08:06It has happened before, and therefore, it could have been a farmer trying to get rid of what he considers
08:12a pest.
08:13But pest, but no matter what, the ocelot is native to Trinidad.
08:18It is the apex predator in our forests.
08:22It plays a key role in terms of keeping a balance of the animal population, which inhibits our forests.
08:29And it's a very elusive animal.
08:32In fact, I've seen it on only a few occasions.
08:35They're very stealthy and they're elusive.
08:39And therefore, you know, it has a coating that will show up with headlights, with light.
08:46And therefore, an experienced hunter like myself and others will know the coating and say,
08:52okay, that's how I sit on.
08:53I need to leave that alone.
08:55You know, it could be that a hunter may have taken it for some other animal.
09:00Yes, for something else.
09:01But I hope that in this case, yes, a lot will be able.
09:04The second one will be able to survive.
09:07Yeah, he's doing well and I plan to visit.
09:09And I'll bring the footage to be on the team.
09:13Yes, please do so.
09:14Now, let's speak about an incident that took place with persons that were trapped with their dog, which guarding a
09:20dog attack.
09:21Yeah, and I didn't think that this story would have gone viral.
09:24But again, edification of the population is important.
09:27So, during the week, we got a call out at 9.32 p.m. one evening that a dog had
09:34bitten two members of a family.
09:37They were badly bitten and you could see the type of injuries on the screen there.
09:42A mother and a son.
09:44And following being bitten, the son intervened to save the mother.
09:50They ran into the house and they became trapped because the dog was running around the house constantly and they
09:59were afraid to come out.
10:00So, they contacted both hunters, search and rescue team and the police simultaneously.
10:07When we got there, that's the dog there.
10:11Is their dog or the dog got there?
10:12Yeah, it's their dog.
10:14And they said that it was a mixture of German Shepherd and Doberman.
10:19When we got there, our teammates, Kristen Rambrad, Venus, Narine Sinanan, and Desi Simon, who you're seeing here, was able
10:28to capture.
10:29But Desi did sustain some minor bites on the back of his hand.
10:35Our producer showed it a while ago.
10:37And here it is.
10:37The dog has come there, right?
10:40And together with police constable Charles.
10:43Of the Marabella Police District, they were able to get the dog into the crate.
10:58And subsequently, you know, this is the hard thing that we couldn't take.
11:03Subsequently, to us creating the dog, the family took a decision to euthanize the dog.
11:08So, at 2 a.m. in the morning, they were able to get our vet on site.
11:12We left the dog in the crate for them to take care of it.
11:16But what will cause a dog to turn on every owner of the house?
11:21Right.
11:21And if you look at the comments on Facebook, they were asking the same question.
11:26However, the Ministry of Health, Public Veterinary Unit, reached out to me and told me that there is a possibility
11:38that this dog could have been bitten by bats and contracted rabies.
11:44And that type of aggression is exhibited by dogs who contract rabies.
11:51And so, they also reached out to me to ensure that everybody who was there and who got bitten, that
11:59they made arrangements for them to get the rabies vaccine.
12:02And I am highlighting this case so that viewers will know that if you have a dog and you mainly
12:09keep the dog outside, these vampire bats, which normally inhibit the forest, will come just sit down easily somewhere outside
12:18your home.
12:19And crawl in to your kennel and bite your dog.
12:25Now, normally, the dogs are not even aware that they have been bitten.
12:31And then, they will walk away.
12:35And a simple act like that could cause your dog to contract rabies.
12:40So, what the public health, Ministry of Health, had asked me to do is to do a sensitization exercise as
12:49well.
12:49And I'm doing it now.
12:50So, if you find that your dog is becoming overly aggressive and he's outdoor, please take him to the vet
12:58and have him vaccinated for rabies.
13:01Yeah.
13:02Because it is clear to me that in this case, there was like a zombie effect that took place with
13:07the dog.
13:07It was very unusual.
13:09Yeah, like why would you turn on every single person who's taking care of you?
13:13And from what I am looking at with the videos that they showed, the dog doesn't look like, you know,
13:18it was hammed in any way.
13:19It doesn't look hamful.
13:20It doesn't look like a mixed breed that comes under the dangerous dog.
13:25Because I thought it was a pitter.
13:27Well, looking at it, I was saying that's my beloved brownie and patong Caribbean shepherd.
13:33But it does not look like these big breed aggressive dogs, right?
13:39And so, I want owners who have dogs to be careful.
13:43If your dog is showing aggression, it could be that they were bitten by a vampire bat and contracted rabies.
13:51Yes.
13:51Now, also, there was a situation I know you would like to speak about with a young man.
13:54Oh, yeah.
13:55And I wanted to share this one with the public.
13:58Last week, we dealt with our case.
14:00Of course, we didn't take videos or anything.
14:02It was so...
14:04I don't know how to describe it.
14:07But we got a report of a nine-year-old boy missing.
14:10And immediately, we posted up the poster.
14:14And this boy is from South Trinidad.
14:19And immediately, we posted the poster.
14:21We began getting information from Guaya Guayari.
14:25Yes.
14:25That the boy was sighted there.
14:28On my way to Guaya Guayari, I stopped in at the Mero Police Station.
14:33Just to inform them that, you know, we have a missing young boy in Guaya.
14:38And we're getting calls that he's in Guaya Guayari.
14:41And I'm on my way to look for him.
14:43Normal, standard procedure for us.
14:46Yes.
14:46When I got to the police station and I showed them the procedure,
14:50the sergeant said to me,
14:52Hey, we have someone in custody with the same name, surname.
14:57Right.
14:58And I said, true.
14:59Let's check it.
15:00And when he checked it, this is what happened.
15:05If father was supposed to take up a child,
15:08the father and mother, they are in a strange relationship.
15:13The father was supposed to take up the child in the south area
15:16and drop him home for the mother.
15:19He didn't.
15:20Right.
15:20In fact, the father doesn't even have a car.
15:22Coming back to that.
15:25But he was supposed to drop the child for the mother.
15:28The entire evening passed.
15:30The next day, she raised an alarm about 11 a.m.
15:34And that's when we got posted the poster and went up to Guaya Guayari.
15:39So the father would have, and other persons and the child,
15:45would have journeyed to Guaya Guayari, Mero, in Avico.
15:51And the father was caught red-handed committing a robbery in Guaya Guayari.
15:59He left the child by a bus shed.
16:02And he and his accomplices went and committed a robbery.
16:06And he was caught red-handed by the Mero police.
16:10And that's how he was in the police station.
16:13And he wasn't able to give account for his son.
16:16He refused to.
16:17Right.
16:18And so, again, we have to be thankful to Trinidad and to Guaya.
16:23We have good citizens.
16:25Captain.
16:25So, as the evening progresses, and we tried to put our fingers on what went on,
16:32another call came that the boy was spotted in Prince's Town.
16:35And the Mero police were on the ball.
16:38They contacted their colleagues.
16:40They went to the house and they got the boy there.
16:42It seems as if...
16:44Now, I missed one thing.
16:46The car was infounded.
16:48It was a rental car.
16:50And it was infounded.
16:51Because he didn't have a car.
16:52Yeah.
16:53It was infounded at the Mero police station.
16:56Right?
16:56So, him and the car was taken.
16:58His accomplices ran off.
17:00And in running off, they went to the child.
17:03They used the child to get transportation.
17:06To get out of the area and take them, take the child and themselves back to South Trinidad.
17:13And that is where, again, the child was spotted.
17:16And these calls keep coming in.
17:18And I want to ask the public.
17:20I want to say something.
17:21When these posters go up, pay attention to them.
17:24Because you could be saving a little boy or girl's life.
17:29Just pay attention to it.
17:31Be vigilant.
17:33Anything strange is in your neighborhood.
17:35Because that's what happened.
17:36The gentleman who called saw a strange child.
17:40Yeah.
17:40And this is just sad to me.
17:42Because as the adults, we are damaging our children.
17:45We are putting them in situations that they need not to be in.
17:48And it is clear that when things happen to them in a rich or sits in age, they wonder why.
17:53And for you to put your child at risk while you commit such a ridiculous act.
17:58Yeah.
17:59Shows you so desperate that you need to take your child to go and put down a robbery.
18:03Exactly.
18:03If the child was killed now.
18:04There was no need for that.
18:06And then what about if, you know, a lot of things.
18:10You left the child by the bus shed alone.
18:14Somebody could have stopped, picked up the child, interfered with the child, killed the child.
18:19This is Trinidad and Tobago.
18:21Correct.
18:21You have predators all over the place.
18:24And you do not take those chances with your children.
18:28So I'm bringing it to the public's attention.
18:30This is what occurs in Trinidad and Tobago.
18:32So we have to stand up and say no to these things.
18:36And of course, you know, to the family, I hope they get the closure, obviously, that was needed.
18:40And thank you to the entire team was able to find that young man now.
18:44So, speaking of good news as well, we continue where I understand you have Michael.
18:49Yes.
18:50As panoram, now we mentioned it last week and he was found.
18:53I know.
18:54Monday when I was here, we didn't have information on him.
18:57And you asked me about Michael.
18:59Yes.
18:59On Tuesday morning, we got word that he was released by his captors.
19:05And that's as much that was told to me by the anti-kidnapping unit.
19:10And, you know, it ended well for him.
19:14I'm happy that he's back home and that his family, you know, they at least have their loved one.
19:21Back home.
19:21Back home.
19:22Alive and well.
19:22Alive and well.
19:23Right now, others can't say that right now, Captain, because we have more issues that are happening with the crime
19:29situation in Trinidad and Tobago.
19:31But right now, let's take a look at what's making today's headlines.
19:57And those were the stories making today's headlines.
19:59Remember, we'll be opening up the phone lines when we return.

22:25New Triple Power Serum with peptides, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.
22:30Physically reduces wrinkles, sperms and evens tone.
22:33New Triple Power Serum by L'Oreal Paris.
22:36We're worth it.
22:47And we're back.
22:48And remember, we'll be opening up the phone line.
22:50So get ready to give us a call.
22:51Of course, with me, we have Captain Rambert here with us.
22:53And we will discuss more on the missing prisons now at the end of February.
22:57Captain, where are we?
22:58Yeah.
22:58So, Whitney, for February, the month that just ended, we only had 21 reports of missing persons.
23:06And that's excellent.
23:07Remember, this was the month of Carnival.
23:09And we normally get a lot of teenage runaways.
23:13Both boys and girls.
23:14It didn't pan out this year.
23:15And we're so happy for that.
23:18So we had 21 reports of missing persons for the month of February.
23:22And we still have five who are outstanding.
23:25And those five would be Barry Vinson, who went missing on the 6th and is from the Karanaj district.
23:37We did work our phones to try to get as much information on Barry.
23:42And most likely, when the program is finished, we're heading down to Karanaj to see what other information we could
23:49pick up on him.
23:51Adelia Hines remains missing, and she's from the Maloney area.
23:57We have persons who are working with us to try to get Adelia to return home.
24:04And hopefully, by the end of the week, we should have her back home.
24:08Adelia, if you, and this is the first time we're dealing with Adelia.
24:13So, Adelia, if anyone has information on Adelia Hines, please call the Maloney Police Station or 799-1453.
24:23And then we have Salima Mohipat.
24:28She's from the Chaguanas district.
24:30She went missing on the 19th of February, it's 16th.
24:33And again, if you have information on Salima Mohipat, please call us at 799-1453 or the Chaguanas Police Station.
24:44Now, Whitney, last month, there was a gentleman, we still haven't found him.
24:49His name is Albert Solazano.
24:52That is, he's an elderly gentleman.
24:54And the next person we have missing is Frank Loveless.
24:57He is age 85, and he's from Hillcrest Drive, Noel Trace, and St. Augustine.
25:06The reason I mention Albert is that thus far for the year, we have had two red flags.
25:11That is, we're looking at these persons as harm having come to them.
25:16Because we're wondering, where is Frank at age 85?
25:20What is he doing out there?
25:22This is the second time Frank has gone missing on us.
25:25He was found safely the last time, and we're very concerned for Frank Loveless.
25:30So, if you're from the St. Augustine area, please be on the lookout for Frank Loveless.
25:36He's a great concern to us, and we want to have him back with his loved ones as soon as
25:43possible.
25:43And then we have Katrina Biki, she's from St. Mary's, Moruga.
25:50This is an area we're very familiar with, but we've been unable thus far to try to locate her, in
25:58our attempt to locate her.
26:00So, if you have information, call the St. Mary's police station, or call us at 799-1453.
26:08Of course, it's very important we find these individuals and bring closure.
26:12That's the hardest thing for families, the captain, which we continue.
26:15They need closure.
26:16They need that closure.
26:17They need that closure.
26:17It can't just be...
26:18Especially when your loved one go missing for, like, more than ideas.
26:22Everything that's going on in Trent, that begins to enter your head.
26:26Whether it's a murder, a rape, something happening on the outside,
26:30those things contribute to you getting very, very panicky and sick.
26:37Yeah.
26:37Extremely sick.
26:38And in this case, some parents are dealing with that sickness because they have lost loved ones as well.
26:44Now, just some information here.
26:45There were two more murders recorded and four injured as the guns continue to be the weapon of choice.
26:52Now, on Friday night, in the Aruca area, a security officer was shot and killed while on duty at a
26:58gas station in the Aruca area.
27:01Again, condolences to the family.
27:04Yeah.
27:05Yeah, and also around 1 a.m. in the Valencia area, four men were injured following a shooting outside a
27:11recreation club.
27:12And on Sunday, 1st March, a Diego Martin man identifies as Rivaldo Pair was shot and killed in Bartario.
27:20So, again, condolences to the family.
27:23Captain, I mean, gun violence.
27:25Yeah, we continue to witness these gun violence in our society.
27:31And it's something that we have to strongly condemn.
27:34Yes.
27:35And we're asking members of the public again for us to get some sort of remediation from this violent crime.
27:45We have no other choice but to work with the police and to continue to supply them with information.
27:53And, you know, they're willing, they're waiting.
27:56You know, they must get assistance from the public to do their work properly.
28:01Yes.
28:02No, but, you know, I think when persons see or hear individuals being gunned down, they must be involved in
28:08something because they're not coming for you for no other reason because maybe you're involved in some other criminal activity.
28:14But that is not usually the case in institutions.
28:15Well, I'm looking at the case for the security guard.
28:17Yeah.
28:17At the gas station, working for most likely a minimum wage.
28:22I'm not sure.
28:23I didn't read the article to determine if it was a robbery.
28:27But I'm looking at it and I'm saying, here's a person working in a gas station for minimum wage, trying
28:34to earn an income to support his family.
28:36And he was gunned down.
28:38Yes.
28:39And, you know, there are sometimes we don't know who may hold a grudge against you over maybe a drive
28:44or a situation that took place some months ago, some years ago.
28:48And they hold you in mind and they found the opportunity to then come and attack and hurt you or
28:53kill you.
28:54So, I know persons who may assume things, but be careful.
28:57You have to be careful and you have to treat each case on its merit.
29:01Yes.
29:02Yeah.
29:02You have to treat each case on its merit.
29:04Also, in the TTPS media release, two arrested firearm and ammunition seized in the Santa Rosa area.
29:11Now, a road traffic exercise conducted by officers attached to the Pinto police post resulted in the seizure of a
29:17firearm and ammunition and the arrest of two individuals on Saturday.
29:22Now, checks revealed that the driver, a resident of Pinto, Rueda, Rima, was wanted in the St. Joseph Police District
29:28for the offense of interfering with a motor vehicle.
29:31A search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted on the front seat passenger and officers discovered a black
29:40knapsack containing one black and silver Ruger SRP semi-automatic pistol.
29:46The firearm was fitted with a magazine containing 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
29:51The suspect is not the holder of a firearm user's FUL nor is he exempt under the firearm's act.
29:59Now, where was this gun retrieved?
30:03In a roadblock.
30:04Yes.
30:04So, again, when members of the public continue to say that, you know, there are too many roadblocks,
30:09please understand that this is one of the effective strategies in policing to ensure that they keep track of what's
30:18being done.
30:19The transportation of guns and drugs is done on our streets via in motor cars, in vans, in trucks, and
30:27these must be checked regularly.
30:29And you never know that person or persons could have been coming to your place if that roadblock didn't happen.
30:34Or you could have been in the trunk.
30:36Oh, yes.
30:37Because kidnapping is happening.
30:38Ladies and gentlemen, we take that break.

32:18Soothe and hydrate.
32:19From the number one Micellar brand in America, by Garnier.
32:23Wax it into the top corner.
32:26Oh, that's an incredible, incredible free kick.
32:31That's pretty darn special.
32:45And we're welcoming back TNT.
32:46Of course, my co-host with me this evening.
32:48We have Captain Rambert here with us.
32:49And we're going to speak now about the fixed penalties.
32:52Because when we opened, we spoke about the mandatory fixed penalties that are in effect as of today.
32:56And I hope the public understands.
32:59Don't wait until the officers pull you over to give you a warning.
33:03Then to go and rush and fix the things that you need fixed.
33:05So we are going to give you that information to assist.
33:08Now, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced that effective today,
33:13March 2nd, mandatory fixed penalty warnings are now in force for 18 specified traffic violations
33:19under the 11th schedule of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
33:24The new measure is aimed at improving road safety, encouraging compliance,
33:28and promoting corrective action by giving motorists an opportunity to fix certain defects before being fined,
33:36said the Ministry.
33:37Now, the Ministry is urging motorists to familiarize themselves with the new process
33:42and ensure full compliance with traffic laws.
33:46Now, violations carrying a three business day compliance period.
33:51So pay attention to this.
33:52This is for the three days that you're able to rectify some of your issues.
33:57No identification, lights, or illumination of identification marks at night.
34:02Number of passengers not printed on the right front door of a taxi.
34:08No tear and maximum gross weight, MGW, printed on vehicles.
34:14Vehicle without silencers or fitted with cutouts.
34:19Unauthorized lights to the front array of vehicles.
34:23Unauthorized letters and figures on a vehicle.
34:27Vehicles without two headlamps.
34:30Vehicle without park lights.
34:33Vehicle without taillights.
34:35No left-hand drive notice affixed to appropriate vehicle.
34:40Vehicle without horn.
34:42Vehicle without reflecting mirror.
34:44Use of vehicle with no windshield wiper or defective wiper.
34:49Public service vehicle without spare tire.
34:53Advertisements placed on the side window of a taxi.
34:57Violations carry a seven-day business day compliance period.
35:01Now this is for the violations and it will allow you seven days to rectify these issues.
35:06Permitting, first one, permitting excess spark or sparks, smoke or visible vapor to emit from a vehicle.
35:16Vehicle with defective fittings and use of a noisy vehicle.
35:22And those are some of the fixed penalties, captains, that run some of the fixed penalties they need to pay
35:27attention to.
35:28Yeah, and well it's very important for the public to take note because the thing is, you know, you have
35:34just three days in some instances.
35:38And one could understand the need for a warning system for like horn and a blown bulb like the ID
35:48light and so forth, right?
35:49So I think these were the concerns of the members of the public, including my concern.
35:55Well I just hope soon nobody fix the road soon too.
35:57So if it is, they point it out to you, you have three business days.
36:01But you made the point, keep checking on these things regularly and make sure you're knowledgeable of all the penalties,
36:09the offenses and the penalties are pretty heavy.
36:14And make sure that you try and keep your vehicles in good working order.
36:19As best as we can.
36:20We open up the phone lines, we have a caller on the line.
36:22Caller, good evening.
36:25Hello.
36:26Oh, listen to you, I'm Sarambara.
36:29Now, my problem is I have no problem with the police offenses, traffic offenses.
36:36I would like to know, if there's no officer there, what illegal, light, and obstacles, pretty broad.
36:44On the back of the vehicle.
36:46And Mercedes and German vehicles, they have the police community with any light like hell.
36:52If we go to put on a same light on vehicles, it's an offense.
36:55Why is it so unfair?
36:56That's not fair to the public.
36:58Okay, thank you.
37:00Captain, he was speaking about the, what you see it as the white lights that people know it from the
37:06European vehicles.
37:06I encountered one recently, that was extremely bright.
37:09So much so that I can make out the vehicle that had those lights.
37:13So there is a great variation in terms of your headlamps and probably the lumens that goes with it.
37:23And the authorities need to pay attention to it.
37:27Because you're getting it from the headlamps and you're getting it from the fog lamps.
37:31So those are a double whammy you're getting and they're extremely bright.
37:37That's the technology, because I don't think there's so much people are making their vehicles.
37:44No, you know, it's what it's because come with.
37:46That was the trend, yes, of the vehicles.
37:48I have reason to believe that some is interfered with it.
37:51Oh, you think so?
37:52Some will tamper with it, yeah.
37:53But honestly, they need to look at it.
37:55I agree with the caller.
37:56I encountered one recently, maybe two nights ago.
38:01And it was on a two-way route, not the highway, where you have one way, you know.
38:07And it indeed was of concern to me.
38:10And if that vehicle didn't come with that bright light, probably I would have said otherwise.
38:14Yeah, but the thing is more than likely, it's not even the high beam, not just the normal light.
38:20Beam, so what if they had put on the high beam, but I encountered one.
38:24But you would, I think, honestly, if they check properly and as you said, persons who may tamper with it,
38:30there's a way to find out the degree of how the light's supposed to be.
38:34I'm just assuming it.
38:35Yeah, but they have to go very technical.
38:37Yeah, and I think I'm licensed and authority has to pay attention.
38:40They must pay attention to it.
38:42That's a good note, though.
38:43Again, the phone is open for you to give us a call, 623-1711, extension 1996 and 1997.
38:50We have Captain Ramrod here.
38:52Of course, you'll be able to answer as many questions for you.
38:55And with the hiking, are we able to still hike right now?
38:58Yeah, yeah.
38:58Is it safe to hike?
38:59You're able to hike and it's safe to hike.
39:01The hiking fraternity, they're doing a lot of work.
39:04Yes.
39:04In fact, they are working groups, working on different areas now.
39:08I am part of the search and rescue part of the hiking thing.
39:12So, when they have difficulties, they know who to contact.
39:15So, they're working on things and they're working extremely hard to get their stuff in order.
39:20Yes.
39:20I'm looking at some hikes being conducted online.
39:23You know, they love TikTok and social media.
39:28Remember, you owe me a hike.
39:49You know, with that, it looks like a grass cutter.
39:52To me, I'm not sure.
39:53Captain, look at Temmie.
39:53What is that?
39:54Yeah, it looks like a grass cutter.
39:55Or one of those, you know, they import different stuff for handicapped persons to move around their yards and stuff.
40:02Not on the public roadways.
40:04So, I'm trying to understand what it is.
40:06It's really looking like a mobile lawnmower.
40:09But certainly, the officers are correct to stop him because I'm seeing a maxi taxi there.
40:15So, the bus route is somewhere there.
40:17I'm seeing a vehicle on the left.
40:17So, it appears to be a public space.
40:21It is a public space.
40:22Yes.
40:23Right?
40:23Those are our roads.
40:24And they need to pay attention.
40:26The last day I was here, we were talking about those unregistered.
40:30Yes, scooters.
40:31Scooters on the roadway.
40:32And they're quite correct to pay attention to these.
40:36Because if you have to move it to another location, you'll have to get some sort of vehicle that can
40:42place that.
40:43And an access ramp to, you know, to take this vehicle to another area.
40:48But those should not be on our roads.
40:51Yeah, most definitely.
40:52You know, we always like to take the risk, Captain, where we have the opportunity.
40:55I'm just driving right there.
40:56I'm sure you may be telling me licensing officers, you know, oh, gosh, I'm just going right there.
41:00I come from over here and I'm going right there.
41:03I'm sure about it.
41:05We may have gotten some sympathy for his handicap, right?
41:08Yeah.
41:08And give him some bit of warning to get that mobile cow, whatever it is of use.
41:17Yes.
41:18We take the chances.
41:19Now again, you know how things go with us.
41:21But, of course, given the opportunity where people are able to see some of the things we shouldn't do, Captain,
41:27we, again, sometimes take that risk and we continue to ask the public to adhere to the laws just to
41:33prevent yourself from spending unnecessary money that you don't want to spend.
41:39So if you're overtaking, you know you're overtaking this vehicle and there's no vehicle in front of that vehicle and
41:45so therefore it's safe for you to overtake.
41:48Right.
41:48And you are overtaking and you encounter this mobile device.
41:55Because we still don't know what it is.
41:57If you did this in front of you, you remember you would not have been able to seem from the
42:01back and it creates a problem.
42:04It creates a big problem.
42:06It puts you down.
42:07You need to cut in because there may be an uncommon vehicle.
42:11You didn't anticipate this low mobile cow, whatever it is on the road.
42:19But it should be not on our own.
42:22At all.
42:23All right, ladies and gentlemen, we take that short break.
42:25We'll be back.

44:23You're worth it.
44:31And welcome back to Beyond the Tape.
44:33Now, Captain Persons continue to play the gamble.
44:36I will call it the gamble because clearly they have money to give away.
44:38If you want to give away some money, why not give us the money?
44:42True.
44:43Give us the money.
44:44It will be easier for us.
44:45Just give it to us because persons are still taking risks.
44:48Look what took place on Arpita Avenue.
44:50Look at the major risk.
44:52That's $500.
44:55$500.
44:56Look up.
44:57Look at that.
44:58Look at that.
44:59$500 and a drink may have been $65.
45:03Right.
45:05So $565 you just spent.
45:07Right.
45:08And he was running to try to get...
45:10To tell him that he's around.
45:11Yeah, but they were already moving.
45:12Yeah, so you have to be careful where you park and observe the no parking signs.
45:17And that's heavy.
45:19That is major heavy.
45:21Yes.
45:21He could have avoided that.
45:24And, you know, sometimes people have the tendency to want to park nearest to where you're going.
45:30Yeah, the close...
45:30But it is at Trinidad.
45:32He clearly went to the bathroom because he was close enough to realize I didn't see the record.
45:36Or maybe he was, I guess, you know, any moment enjoying himself.
45:39But he has now minus $500 from that bank account.
45:44Now, listen, something which I'm sure I'm going to bring up tomorrow with ASV Russell with regards to same wrecking
45:50situation here.
45:51And the direction vehicles are parked.
45:54Because someone I understand and I have to make sure it's clear that we get this information.
45:58And it is one that is truthful.
46:00Where you...
46:02The direction in which the cars are flowing is the direction you need to park.
46:06Meaning if you are allowed to park on that side of the road.
46:09Yeah, but there's a no.
46:11That's a no.
46:12That you park on the side in which the vehicles are flowing.
46:17Flowing, correct.
46:17But if you face in the opposite direction, you could get wrecked as well.
46:22I'm not sure about that.
46:22As I'm saying, I was told that you could also get wrecked and ticketed as well if you are parked
46:29in the opposite direction of where the traffic is flowing.
46:32Even if you're on the right side of the parking, you have to face the direction the traffic is flowing.
46:37Well, that one is new to me.
46:39You see?
46:39And you see, unless it don't happen, it wouldn't come up.
46:42I think ASP will be able to clarify that.
46:45I will listen in tomorrow.
46:46And I definitely don't want it to happen to me.
46:48Right.
46:48So I want to know.
46:49So as of now, I try my best to park any direction of where the cars are flowing just in
46:53case of anything happening.
46:54But just looking back at the video, I'm just thinking that I'm seeing other vehicles parked in that direction.
47:00I'm feeling that the gentleman did park too close to the...
47:04I'm not too sure if there's...
47:07It looks like he was blocking a driveway.
47:11Driveway.
47:11Because look where the car is coming on.
47:13There's a gate.
47:14And then you're seeing the thing that is there from...
47:16So I'm looking at it and I felt he blocked a driveway.
47:19A driveway maybe.
47:20But you could get a record block in somebody's driveway.
47:22Yes.
47:23Now, even if it's your driveway, and then maybe there, there's also a bus stop because it's opposite of familiar
47:30food spot.
47:31But I'm seeing other vehicles there.
47:33And they closed our corner.
47:34Yeah, they parked.
47:35They closed our corner as well.
47:37So I'm seeing...
47:38I'm thinking now that he blocked someone's driveway.
47:41Yeah, because of the driveway right there.
47:42Yeah.
47:42On the left.
47:43And you'll see when he passes it, where the sink is there.
47:46So more than likely maybe someone called.
47:48And I believe if I'm not mistaken, there's a home that is in that area.
47:52In that area.
47:52So they may have called the officers and they made a quick move when it comes to, you know, making
47:58sure that area is packed.
48:00But you know, when you're on the avenue, people, the sugar gorges, alignment spots, and you take that risk, the
48:06minus $500.
48:07We have another caller on the line.
48:08Caller, good evening.
48:11Hello.
48:12Hello.
48:13Good evening to you.
48:15This is the first time caller.
48:17Welcome, sir.
48:18Welcome.
48:18I just listen to some other views and things there.
48:21As far as I know what the young man is talking about, if you park on the opposite side, you're
48:26supposed to park with the traffic.
48:29And what happens like of buyers here in Tagarigua, those groceries out there, all of a sudden you see a
48:35big truck coming at you.
48:37You on the correct side, you know, but he won't again from the groceries, so he coming straight at you.
48:43Okay.
48:44And nobody will tell him nothing.
48:46That's the first time I was able to get on because what I wanted about, the crossing from St. Mary's
48:53Church to go to the Tagarigua orphanage, St. Mary's orphanage.
48:58The lines, the zebra lines weren't painted over.
49:02And then there's the entrance that come inside by the St. Mary's Church going on by the area, they have
49:08grown.
49:10There's a centerpiece where they're still going to, all the painting gone.
49:15Okay.
49:17So if they could get the authorities, the ministerial works or the police to come and paint the road.
49:26Because when they did a walk across there.
49:28All right.
49:28So if you cannot let.
49:29I enjoy your news and I enjoy your hunter because that's our partner who went from, what was it, from
49:36October to the end of February.
49:39So I ain't going to see him until this Saturday.
49:43I hope you enjoy what he has to offer you.
49:47But caller, congratulations in terms of being a first time caller.
49:51And what you're speaking to is very important in road safety and traffic management.
49:59Signage is very important.
50:01And it controls everything.
50:04All right.
50:05So if the persons have to cross from the St. Mary's Church to the orphanage and the zebra caution is
50:13necessary, it should be well-peated.
50:15The safety answer.
50:15I hope the authorities, those who are listening, that could assist in rectifying that.
50:21Now we continue where this happened.
50:23Take a look at this.
50:26Thank God for that door.
50:29On the avenue once again.
50:31I mean, all right.
50:32So.
50:33Captain, I don't want to make it seem like.
50:36I want to give.
50:37All right.
50:38I want to give the driver of the vehicle that is passing that lady kudos.
50:44So if I'm in that situation, I'm not going to assume that she's going to open that door.
50:49I know she's making her way to the door.
50:52I expect her to look back to see what's coming.
50:56That's the best thing to do.
50:57And the driver, listen, look at what he did.
51:00He opened and he gave her sufficient space to be at the side of the vehicle.
51:06And that's good driving, right?
51:08He did not expect her to open that door.
51:11She made a crucial error.
51:13If I am in her position, I would turn to the side.
51:18I mean, most people will before opening the door.
51:21So, it's, she walked so casually to the vehicle and opened her door.
51:28But again, it's a mistake she made.
51:30But the door, I agree, which you saved her.
51:33Right?
51:34It could have been much worse than that.
51:36But the uncommon vehicle from behind, they did well to create that space.
51:41They didn't expect her to open that door.
51:43Which she should not have opened the door without looking back.
51:47But I believe the door did save her.
51:50It did save her.
51:51Look at the vehicle and even touch her.
51:52Yeah.
51:53It saved her because she could have been, you know, easily picked her by that said vehicle.
51:57If that door didn't open the same time, because she was going to get into the car.
52:02And the door protected her.
52:05No damages were done on the driver who was on the side main road and on her vehicle.
52:11But sometimes, you know.
52:13But, you know, we need to remind the public also of these little cautions.
52:18They must take place on while driving.
52:21Be vigilant too.
52:22And then, you know, be a gentleman, a lady gentleman.
52:26Stop.
52:27More than likely that.
52:28We just got a snippet of the video.
52:30No, no.
52:30Before, if you notice that that's going on, you could just slow down.
52:33No, but I don't think most drivers will think the person going to swing open the door like that.
52:38Swing open the door.
52:38Knowing that where you are parked is two lanes.
52:41So the person now has to merge.
52:43And you still have to be aware of your surroundings.
52:45And that is what I'm saying.
52:46You know, we always, the females get this little stain.
52:50And I'm not going to say a big stain.
52:51A little stain on us.
52:53Because, you know, sometimes we're very nonchalant to what is happening around us.
52:56And I'm just hoping that all the male drivers out there don't assume that all females.
53:02You don't want to see one situation like that.
53:04They will say all females operate the same way.
53:07But, you know, the insurance companies give you all a discount because you are safer drivers than men.
53:13Exactly.
53:13And you'll buy our cars most of the time.
53:17You look for a lady-driven second-hand car.
53:20Yes.
53:20Now, I'm going to show you a lot of video quickly here, Captain.
53:24And this is something that I think, if not myself and others, may go through.
53:28But in this one in particular, it just goes to show the climate of where the country is at when
53:32we hear certain noises around us.
53:34Take a look at this.
54:04Oh, yes.
54:05By hearing some gunshots in the area.
54:08And we support that.
54:09Get out of the way as quickly as possible.
54:11No, we are still not even sure if it was gunshots.
54:13We're not sure if it was some kind of device that was, you know, being used.
54:17It could be bamboo.
54:18It could be so many things.
54:19But because of the climate of the country, many persons will feel like, okay, something.
54:23I went up with the party and some balloons burst.
54:26And all of us were ready to just move because of the climate of the country.
54:31And you don't give the person around to shelter.
54:33We have a caller on the line.
54:34Let's head back to the phone line.
54:35Scholar, good evening.
54:37Yeah.
54:38And this is a first-time caller.
54:41Hi.
54:41Hi.
54:42Hi.
54:43First-time caller.
54:44Welcome, ma'am.
54:46How are you?
54:47I enjoyed your program very much.
54:49Thank you so much.
54:50We are great.
54:50I can speak on behalf of you.
54:52Yes, sure.
54:53I live in the San Rafael area.
54:56And at the junction, there is a, well, it's not really a roundabout.
55:02Right?
55:02But there's an arrow pointing in a direction, eastern direction.
55:10Right?
55:11But to me, when the sign is a roundabout, it's supposed to say a circular.
55:18So I just want some clarification.
55:19Do we go around that?
55:21It's just opposite the church.
55:23Do we just go around what is the status?
55:28Because, you know, I'm living here for a long time.
55:30And I am accustomed to going, proceeding south.
55:37Proceeding, like, to go up a Rima.
55:39I will just pass the church.
55:41But now, I don't know with that arrow there.
55:43I don't know if I'm supposed to go right around.
55:45Because it's not really a circular.
55:48It's just like a, like a oblong, you know?
55:52I understand.
55:53I don't know what direction.
55:55Because if the ministry will put up that, I will like proper sign it to say whether we're supposed to
56:00go around the roundabout.
56:02Is that a new arrow?
56:05Is it a new arrow sign or something that was put up recently?
56:09Yeah, it's a new arrow sign.
56:10They just put an arrow sign heading like if you're going to the Brazil section.
56:14But it doesn't say around about.
56:17Yes.
56:17You understand?
56:18I saw the proper signage there to tell us to get proper direction.
56:22I mean, I don't want to go there and get a ticket for anything, you know?
56:24Exactly.
56:25Ma'am, could you do me a favor?
56:27Could you at least do a video of it or a photo of it and send it to 765-8383?
56:35Okay.
56:35Let me just get a number.
56:36I'll give it a number again, right?
56:38Yeah, that's all right.
56:39Let me just take a.
56:41A video or a picture and we will try our best to assist.
56:45All right?
56:46Yeah.
56:46And you can send it.
56:47What's the number?
56:52765-8383.
56:548383.
56:55Yes, 8383.
56:56765-8383.
56:58Okay, I'll do that.
57:00Thank you so much for the support.
57:01And caller, if you want, leave your number.
57:03Leave your number with the producer and there's corporals sing there in San Rafael.
57:09And the reason I ask you if it was a new sign is that we often use that roadway.
57:14And I am familiar with the church and the roundabout.
57:18That's why I ask you if it was new.
57:19Well, we were in that area sometime towards the end of January.
57:23We're looking for Albert Solazano, by the way.
57:26And, you know, some remains were found in the San Rafael district.
57:30So, just leave it.
57:32I'll contact corporals sing as soon as I leave here and ask him to pay attention to that piece, that
57:37arrow.
57:38And I'll communicate with you.
57:40And communicate with you as well.
57:42Yes.
57:42All right, Captain.
57:42I'm ready to thank you so much for being here with us.
57:45We appreciate you as always, each and every Monday, to give us the information that's needed to do better.
57:50And, of course, up next, we get ready for your news coming up at 7 o'clock.
57:53We'll be back same time, same place.
57:55Look out for my boy, ASP Russell.
57:57He'll be joining us tomorrow.
57:59God bless TNT.
58:00We're out.
