00:04At first it blatantly wastes my time boring me for nothing.
00:09Why is Nine dumb enough to taunt one of his bosses when he could get punished again for it?
00:15Why isn't he punished?
00:17So Nine knows the council won't punish him, so that's why he did it.
00:21Because apparently they're fine with people talking back to them with free will.
00:26Please ignore all the times Eggman put animals in badniks because he's not supposed to be okay with free will.
00:33You'd think the Eggman would be evil enough to slap anyone who annoys them.
00:37Because Eggman's evil and slapped Ergo in one of the games.
00:42This doesn't help in making them intimidating proper villains.
00:46The music's doing all of the heavy lifting on them.
00:50He then leaves Nine unsupervised.
00:53Why?
00:54If he was under surveillance the entire time and he found out about it later, that'd be cool.
00:59Because he'd just be intentionally keeping him unsupervised so that he could record what he was doing so he could punish him for it.
01:07And plan around his attempt at betraying him.
01:11Even then that's a risk.
01:13This seems insulting to my intelligence.
01:16That's just so easy for him to communicate with Sonic and send their data somewhere else.
01:20Even though he's in the same room as these people the whole time.
01:23It was better with Chuck because he didn't have that problem all the time.
01:29Then he tries to call Sonic unsuccessfully.
01:32Again, I like when he cares enough to do this instead of being sinister 24-7.
01:38But the story should have started here.
01:40And I've already seen him try to do this.
01:43Now he hears about the situation Sonic's in.
01:46So he got himself worried over something he could do nothing about.
01:49Which I guess is good, because he's evil.
01:53The story wastes my time after this.
01:55With Sonic being threatened by the cringey talking pirates.
01:59How are they dumb enough to still be mad after he tries to reason with them that he didn't leave them?
02:06He should just run away from them and never talk to them again.
02:09And the story wastes time again.
02:12At least it tried to develop on one of the characters.
02:15But why would I care that one of the Eggmen does yoga?
02:18There's no reason that only one of them would do that when they're all the same personality.
02:23Yoga has health benefits, so there's no reason only this Eggman would do it.
02:30I'd like to know why he's the exception.
02:32There's so much filler in this episode that there's nothing to say anything about.
02:36The teenage Eggman gets told he's needed to fly the ship.
02:40Even though he could do it.
02:43Why would I care about the scene?
02:45It establishes that the members of the Council in the Void got their aircraft shot.
02:50Nine warns Sonic that he has to hurry and stay on mission and Sonic agrees.
02:56Since Sonic can move at the speed of sound, why doesn't he just get away from all these people instantly?
03:02It sure is convenient for the plot that the ship can keep up with him in a medieval world.
03:08Is this the ship that Rusty Rose arrived in?
03:11It would still make no sense that he'd be able to keep up with Sonic no matter what.
03:15Because again, the Chaos Council has no experience with Sonic and literally just met him a day ago.
03:21I'm expected to believe that's hard to get up to full speed over water.
03:26Bullshit!
03:27This is disrespectful to Sonic.
03:29There's no physical reason for this when he's already using hover shoes anyway, so he's not interacting with the water at all.
03:35The pirates really cement themselves as villains by trying to hit Sonic with missiles a bunch.
03:41At least I never saw pirates and Sonic do that before.
03:45But missiles are nothing new.
03:47Most of the story is just nothing new.
03:50Black Rose asks Rusty if she's okay, and she says she's never been asked that and should be treated like a tool, and she's related to.
03:59This sure happened best.
04:01This isn't character for Amy, but if she's this idealistic, how is she still a pirate?
04:07And why did she ever start being one?
04:10The counterparts in this world have the same problem as the evil twins in Archie,
04:15where it should be explained why they ended up so different when they've got the same genetics.
04:21And it takes especially extreme circumstances for people to end up as pirates.
04:26I see the reason she'd be sympathetic to Rusty though, because she looks like her,
04:32so it's easy for her to come to the assumption that she's like her in a lot of ways.
04:37Why does it keep showing me the council bickering?
04:40It's so blatantly incompetent of the writer to think anyone would care.
04:44They're never more menacing.
04:46Other continuity's constantly had their Eggman do evil things to get victories like roboticizing people or taxing them.
04:53A missile breaks a giant rock sticking out of the ocean,
04:57and somehow Sonic turns around while still having himself keep going forwards just to taunt him,
05:02even though anyone would know he'd risk him running into one of the boulders he's surrounded by.
05:07There's being confident, and then there's being stupid, and he isn't really stupid in the games.
05:13Then the shockwave right in front of him sends the prism back to the ship, which is just frustrating.
05:20And so is Sonic just standing still and talking to the pirates for no reason despite taking them seriously.
05:27He could have taken it from him and left the boat before it got filled with robots.
05:32It's exciting to see them all fight over the prism, but the music and camera work is doing most of the work.
05:39Sonic kicks away a robot to protect Rusty, who thanks him.
05:43But where did she learn the word? Why is he scared?
05:47At least it looked cool that one of the council members was at the fight personally and was wearing something he could fly with.
05:54There's no reason only this Eggman should be doing this.
05:59It would be cool if all of them were doing this.
06:02They all have the same personality basically, so why not have all of them do this instead of only this one having the bare minimum of this being his thing.
06:11When Eggman has always been identified by being okay with fighting Sonic himself.
06:18Finally Sonic and Knuckles leave the ship, and the Eggman tries to be threatening, but gets cathartically told he should just attack already.
06:27It just keeps undermining the tension with these villains.
06:30This is just what Colors did with Eggman.
06:33Eventually I get to see Nine shocked in front of Sonic.
06:38But again it doesn't have the full emotional impact or make the villains feel threatening because he doesn't fall to his knees and become immobile.
06:47He conveniently has rings every single time he gets hurt so it doesn't even matter.
06:51He says Makeman.
06:53I thought he knew he had to give it to them or else they'd kill Nine.
06:57Why didn't Eggman just say that?
06:59These Eggmans should wear name tags.
07:02Nine shakes his head at Sonic.
07:04And when Sonic talks like he plans to give him the Shard, Nine tells him no as if he cares more about him than himself.
07:11Which is out of character at this point.
07:13But Nine's planning on taking the Shard from Eggman anyway.
07:16So why would he care what happens here?
07:18Sonic's really fast.
07:20He could just run over to Nine, pick him up and run away in a second.
07:25He can hover.
07:26Sonic throws the Prism Shard away and fights some robots.
07:30The story keeps wasting my time after this.
07:33And as with us seeing that both Sonic and Captain Dread are hanging onto the aircraft as it's flying away.
07:39So it's a good thing that either they're going slower than you'd expect.
07:44Or they've got superhuman strength so that the momentum doesn't send them flying off the airship.
07:50Maybe they've got magnetic bloods.
07:54I mean magically.
07:56Why not?
07:57This padded out story by Patricia Villetto was about Sonic running from lasers and then fighting robots uncreatively the whole time.
08:07Making a worthlessly uncreative plot.
08:10And somehow he loses the Prism twice despite having super speed and the ability to run over the ocean with hover shoes for as long as he wants.
08:19Because he's impossibly stupid.
08:21So he turned around while running away from people trying to shoot him in a place surrounded with things to run into.
08:27Apparently the technology of a group of people who don't have a lifetime of experience making stuff to outpace Sonic and just met him already have tech that can keep up with him.
08:38The story was a little boring because of how little actual plot progression there was and how uncreative it was.
08:44And it was insulting how obvious the filler was at times.
08:48It's weird because the episodes don't all have the same length.
08:51So there's no excuse for padding and some being longer than others.
08:55Most of the time you could just have the normal Eggman and have the same plot.
09:00You could combine the personalities of all of the Eggman into one character.
09:04And have a better Eggman because he'd be a deeper character.
09:08I appreciate that the story used the teenager and baby Eggman once because it was new.
09:13But the novelty value ran out right away because they suck and the story hardly ever justifies the worth of having so many different Eggmen.
09:21They're just there to pad things out by talking to each other.
09:24At least it tried to be exciting most of the time and I didn't know for sure how it would end.
09:29At the very least what the show could do if it's gonna constantly have the same plot over and over with looking for a MacGuffin and fighting robots.
09:39Is have the robots always look different and look like animals or insects.
09:46So at least we'd always see something new and it would be creative and charming.
09:51That's the bare minimum that I would do.
09:54Is anyone gonna really remember what most of the robots look like after watching the show?
09:59I don't think so.
10:00You could make it interesting by basing what the robots do off which animal or insect they're based on.
