00:40generic forgettable badniks flying towards some people in a flashbang-
00:45and then the Council bickering over who gets to run the city.

00:50Didn't they agree on who would get to run the city beforehand?

00:55Weren't they all have the same opinions?
00:57And so, they wouldn't fight over who-
01:00who would get to run the city because-
01:02all of them would have the same ide-
01:05ideas of what laws should be put in place.
01:08That's what running the city is.
01:10Unless they're genuinely fighting over who gets to do the mountains of paperwork-
01:15they could easily make this interesting by just establishing what they disagree on.
01:20instead of it just being an ego thing.
01:23Somehow they understand what the-

01:28So each of them gets to run a-
01:30certain part of it.
01:31The only way they can understand the baby is if he's wearing something that-
01:35translates what he's saying to them because they've got a translator in their clothes or brain-

01:46The robot throws Sonic really far-

01:51And I guess his rings protected him.

02:01Too bad he looks terrible and has a terrible voice.
02:05he could've been entertaining and brilliant because this is what Sonic would be like but an evil robot.

02:13And because he's like the Sonic-
02:15so Eggman could parody Sonic-
02:17it makes sense that he's the least flattering depiction possible.
02:20It makes more sense than the original Metal Sonic because he's silent and only as a person-
02:25it makes more sense of his personality in one game.
02:26So there's hardly any point to making a robot Sonic like Metal Sonic.
02:30when Eggman already makes a bunch of other robots as fast as Sonic.

02:35It's kinda fun to see Sonic get insulted.
02:38Knuckles jumps on top of Chaos Sonic-
02:40and attacks him.
02:41And at first I thought he killed him in one hit and was disappointed.
02:45But then it turns out he didn't even look damaged.
02:48So why'd it take so long-
02:50to get out of the ground?
02:51He should be shown looking progressively more damaged as a-
02:55fight goes on.
02:56I get to see 9 get taunted for getting Sonic in danger-

03:02Obviously it's always the writing being surprisingly-
03:05good when it shows 9 feeling guilty about something.
03:09The council can-
03:10he keeps wasting my time after this.
03:12The normal Eggman wants smokestacks.
03:15One of them wants a museum with colonies and archways and buses.
03:20Well the teen wants a theme park like Eggman supposed to want.
03:25And they all talk about what they want instead of anything that they want smokestacks too.
03:30Or they all want theme parks too.
03:32Which would be in character.
03:34You can-
03:35They do a lot of elaboration on how different they are from the one guy who-
03:40wants smokestacks.
03:41Because it seems like they would be very different from him-
03:45if they're not crazy about having smokestacks everywhere.
03:48How would any-
03:50How would any of them have turned out different from each other if-
03:53They all have to be clones made by-
03:55I wanted them.
03:56Uncharacteristically, Eggman says he doesn't have to conquer-
04:00the other worlds.
04:01Just make them how he wants.
04:03Even though they're playing-
04:05And then is still to conquer them.
04:07Nine eventually insisted them keeping the portals open-
04:10forever would have consequences on the whole universe.
04:13Just because they are supposed to be-
04:15open at all.
04:16And he thinks he knows that because he invented the Shadow Drive tech.
04:20Of course he's not listened to because he didn't provide evidence.
04:23So he looks like he's just-
04:25arguing that because something's not natural-
04:28it's bad.
04:29Which is a lot-
04:30logical fallacy.
04:31So I wish that was pointed out.
04:33Because that would do foreshadowing proper-
04:35instead of every twist being predictable from a mile away-
04:38like it always is in this show.
04:40It's a very minor criticism to say that a surprise in a story is predictable-
04:44because if it-
04:45it naturally follows from what you already got told about the stories-
04:50but that's just good writing.
04:51So to what's being predictable it doesn't even look like it's bad compared to the-
04:55much worse alternative of a plot twist that has no logical excuse for happening-
04:59because that's the only way-
05:00it can be a surprise.
05:01But it was since barely any emotional impact if the surprise was ruined-
05:05because the second it got foreshadowed you knew it would happen-
05:08so you had time to prepare-
05:10for dealing with it.
05:11The best way to do foreshadowing is by foreshadowing for two-
05:15different outcomes so that they both looked like they'd make sense to happen-
05:19but the show-
05:20because writing is so bad I kind of can't take it seriously-
05:23so I'm just thinking that 9's probably not-
05:25just because the people who didn't believe him are the bad guys-
05:29so they're always-
05:30it's morally wrong-
05:31and they constantly bicker-
05:32so you're not supposed to take them seriously.
05:35I like that Sonic says that if he's as annoying as Chaos Sonic he needs to change-
05:40Prime Sonic's annoying-
05:42but not because of constant Greg-
05:44and-
05:45in fact I have a hard time thinking of any time that he branked-
05:48did this robot-
05:50though it's in brag mode 100% of the time-
05:53so he's a shallow parody of-

05:56so I don't mind that he got hit by a bus because Sonic was clever enough to have that-

06:01to be fair the other flaws that Sonic has-
06:04would get in the-
06:05the way of the robot being effective-
06:07at killing him-
06:08a laser is fired-
06:10and Thorn sees buildings rise up as dramatic music plays-
06:14and does all the heavy-
06:15we're already lifting and trying to emotionally manipulate us into opposing this-
06:19even though-
06:20this isn't necessarily bad-
06:22the pirates see a bunch of metal stuff rise off the ocean-
06:25around the ship too-
06:26okay but buildings aren't bad-
06:28they could provide-

07:31The two Knuckles fight the robot.
07:34I hate that one of them unironically said,

07:39Does any writer write that in a serious story?
07:42I thought Sonic got killed-

08:43I guess I shocked them if you did this in a way that was cooler. I wouldn't have been

09:40It makes sense that the average person would want to do this because he.
09:43Cares about him and he's grateful he's alive and hasn't been hurt.

09:48In the games is because it's not cool.
09:50It also wasn't cool when a comforted rouge about Shadow.
09:53Falling to Earth by saying he was a brave guy who gave his life for the planet.
09:58And it wasn't cool when he said Sayonara Shadow the Hedgehog after that.
10:01And it's such common sense.
10:03The Tails is the one exception that's in character for Sonic to hug.
10:06Even if this was out of character.
10:08It doesn't change that's obviously good anyways.
10:10It's a good thing 9 doesn't complain about it.
10:13It doesn't look annoyed and just look stunned.
10:15He says he's sorry to Sonic and gets told.
10:18He's a good friend because he still had his back.
10:22They put a bunch of the.
10:23Shards and something and Sonic tells him to do a high five.
10:26Which it takes a few seconds to know.
10:28To do even though it's a very simple concept.
10:31And he would have remembered the last time pretty clearly.
10:33The story ends with him saying he hates this place just because he got.
10:38Threatened by a bunch of easy to destroy robots and a bunch of helpless humans only.
10:43One of which is holding something that could shoot at someone who could dodge it instantly anyways.
10:48So he's got no reason to be scared into humoring him.
10:51And there's also no way.
10:53To be dumb enough to risk getting shot by just staying still and whining that he hates the place.
10:58That's got all of the same problems that he's effortlessly overcome since Sonic 1.
11:03Why does it almost never have the characters look threatening non-artificially?
11:08We never see them arresting any civilians.

11:13What's mostly just about Sonic getting smacked around constantly by her.
11:18Ridiculous looking robot who says nothing but bragging an annoying voice.

11:25It's not like I like this episode.

11:28That guy was annoying.
11:29But I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
11:32Because most of it was about-
11:33Sonic getting given a hard time.
11:35And it gave him more slapstick than he had in any other episode.
11:38If it was trying to be traumatic in any sort of way, it failed.

11:43Not just because of the annoying voice, but because it immediately had him get attacked in a way that-
11:48That it should have killed him.
11:49It didn't even injure him in the slightest.
11:51Establishing that he's inv-
11:53Incibel immediately.
11:54And he isn't getting progressively more bruised over time.
11:58Maybe him constantly bragging would have been fine if he had a deep voice.

12:03That way someone would call his robot disrespectful as a knee-jerk reaction to them not simply using-
12:08Metal Sonic because Metal Sonic's actually cool and he's just obnoxious.

12:13This isn't meant to be Metal Sonic.
12:14It's meant to make fun of Prime Sonic for us.
12:18And if doing a new idea instead of plagiarizing the source material without giving credit to its original writer-
12:23was always disrespectful, that'd make every instance of creativity disrespectful-
12:28Which would be really bad faith-fraining for a critique.
12:31And roll sick of Metal Sonic, because-
12:33It's used too much without being used creatively.
12:36As usual, there's a lot of-
12:38Worthless filler.
12:39Like bickering between the council members.
12:42I can't believe-
12:43I can't believe only one of them really liked smoke scents.

12:48If they do, they should actually use that in the show then.
12:51They never see any pollution-
12:53People say it was a waste that the show's Metal Sonic got killed in one-
12:58episode, but they don't know what they want.

13:03It wasn't that good anyway, because the plot was paper thin.

13:08The other thing that's annoying about him is how insanely one-dimensional his personality is.

13:13He's supposed to be for one episode, so if he did have a full personality, it would feel like-

13:23Like his compassion and impatience and stupidity really-
13:28Wouldn't make him more effective as a fighter.
