00:00Sonic Prime, The Devil's in the Tales.
00:03Sonic jumps towards Nine angrily but then jarringly goes right back to telling him with a concerned look that they
00:09can still end this in idealistically arguing with him instead of spending the whole time attacking him like the cliffhanger
00:18bunt.
00:19Nine does a spiteful speech to discourage him that's annoying to listen to as I'm still wondering why Sonic isn't
00:25attacking him considering how angry he was before.
00:28It's like he was only written to jump towards him angrily to have a cliffhanger.
00:33He asks Nine if he sure could handle all that juice he's getting.
00:38The fact that he calls him pal ends up not being good since he doesn't believe him.
00:43Even though he logically should believe him because he believed him when he said you're still my friend.
00:50He makes him fall but Sonic starts using the hover shoes.
00:54At least the music and visuals are keeping me engaged trying to be exciting.
00:59But it's still obvious to me what little plot progression is happening.
01:03Sonic uses the regulators in his shoes to make a force field to protect himself from the lasers.
01:09Eventually there's a brief moment when Nine gets tired and falls to the floor for a little while.
01:15He's asked if he gives up and he says he can't without providing an argument for why.
01:21So I have to assume he's just refusing to give up because of the sunk cost fallacy.
01:26It's purely emotional.
01:28Because he'd obviously benefit from giving up.
01:30But he'd be too ashamed to.
01:33He's supposed to be a genius.
01:35I hate that it feels like he's an idiot the whole arc.
01:38Some noise happens and the fighting below them resumes and it turns out Shadow's fine.
01:43Not that anyone comments on it.
01:46Sonic acts happy about something.
01:49He jumps on the force field above Nine who says he betrayed him.
01:53And Sonic doesn't care and says he was able to carry out a plan because his friends trusted him.
01:57He says his plan was to keep Nine distracted.
02:00And Sonic again tries to calmly tell Nine to restore his world.
02:05He's given the same excuses he gave him before.
02:07Sonic keeps warning Nine that he'll destroy his universe with himself in it.
02:12And Nine doesn't believe him even though he knows about the decay.
02:16I guess it's justified because of his insane trust to shoot to the point of being detached from reality.
02:21And because he doesn't want to accept that he's right because then he would have to change what he's doing.
02:28It would be a better response if he said,
02:30I could just move to another universe anyway.
02:33The story gets kind of boring after it shows some pointless robot fighting from other characters than Sonic.
02:39I've got no reason to care about this because it's not about dealing with Nine.
02:44Sonic's told that the world falling apart is just a small sacrifice he'd be able to fix with Sonic's shoe
02:49energy that he only got after going to the Shatterverse.
02:52And the story wastes a bunch of my time with more generic robot fighting.
02:57Why is Sonic panting just because he was running?
03:00He says this is going to hurt me more than you.
03:02And Nine's confused which makes sense because earlier Sonic tried to attack him without saying this first.
03:08And he didn't look like he had a problem with it then.
03:11I get to see a version of Knuckles punch him.
03:14And Nine sends some robots after him.
03:17It's at least creative to see Sonic using a force field in particular.
03:21But I've seen force fields be used by Bunny before.
03:25Eventually after padding people see Meiji and Sales in the cockpit of the giant big robot.
03:31And Sales says they flew away from the explosion.
03:33While Sales is a pirate and the scavengers were real violence prone assholes.
03:39So it actually does make sense that they were both too inconsiderate to not instantly try to tell people around
03:43them that they survived.
03:45I'm glad that this is how they survived instead of them cheapening their deaths because it got brought back.
03:51Anyways there's a ton of filler.
03:54Sonic looks like he feels bad as Nine's using his force field to keep himself from getting punched.
03:59So he urged them to stop because he's gotta get through to someone who looks unreasonable.
04:04But it can't be desperate enough to try.
04:06Because he still looks like Tails.
04:09And even if he kills him he wouldn't be able to restore the universe on his own.
04:13After filler Captain Dread looks crazy by smiling as he's looking up in the middle of a battlefield.
04:20But then he eventually defends Black Rose and Rusty goes to protect her.
04:24And Rose helps up Dread who says he finally realized he cares more about his friends than shiny things.
04:30I couldn't really tell what he said after shiny.
04:32He also gives up his captain role to Black Rose for no apparent reason.
04:37So that's confusing.
04:39Shockingly Rusty reveals that she was lied to when told that the burden in her was needed to power her.
04:45There's no reason she would have found this out.
04:48Because she'd have thought if she pulled the bird out of her she'd have died.
04:52She holds it and frees it.
04:55So I was right. She literally was roboticized.
04:59So much for being a creative concept of it that's more in line with the games.
05:02But I'd rather be like this so it's more like Daddy M doesn't involve a bird being trapped in her
05:07forever.
05:08It's not like that even had to be explained.
05:11Because we clearly wouldn't have cared if the bird never got freed.
05:15And it's not like they only had two choices.
05:17Either she free the bird or get destroyed so the bird could escape.
05:21No one cared.
05:23The story wastes a ton of time with her fighting something.
05:26And the bird goes back to her happily.
05:28Well I guess that isn't confusing because he doesn't know how to go home.
05:33Even though he could get killed by the robots by being close to them.
05:37Nine says it doesn't have to end lethally for Sonic.
05:40And Shadow jumps into a robot causing a bunch of explosions destroying all the robots around them.
05:47Nine asks how and I'm wondering that too.
05:49Because since when can Shadow spin dashing out a robot makes a huge explosion that does that.
05:53But magically doesn't hurt Sonic.
05:56I guess he uses a force field to protect himself.
05:58Shadow didn't do a chaos blast.
06:01Which he could do against Nine.
06:03But I guess he doesn't want to make Sonic go ballistic with him.
06:07Nine tries to siphon Shadow's power.
06:09And Sonic jumps towards Nine.
06:11And they end up in the pillar of light.
06:13And the story ends with them pushing each other.
06:16Why did he think Shadow had prism energy to siphon in the first place?
06:21Sonic would have jumped towards him anyways.
06:24This story by Logan McPherson was a little boring the whole time.
06:29Because almost no plot progression was happening the whole time.
06:32And it was just another Sonic story with the generic plot point of heroes fighting robots.
06:38But most of the time it was still engaging because of the constant action with exciting music and presentation.
06:44It was cool that Manji and Sales took over a giant robot that shoots missiles.
06:50Meh.
06:51You'd think it would have been really satisfying to see a fight between Sonic and Nine.
06:56But because of the way it was executed, it didn't really seem like it hurt.
07:01It wasn't satisfying.
07:03They were barely trying.
07:06Neither of them really looks like they're suffering enough.
07:09At least unlike an Archie.
07:11At least we actually saw them hit each other instead of flashes of light censoring it.
07:17It was frustrating to see Sonic keep failing to reason with Nine.
07:21But I'd be a lot more frustrated if I didn't know it was justified by desperation.
07:26And the fact that no amount of the good old fashioned way has worked on him yet.
07:30And the fact that he thinks he needs his help to restore the universe.
07:33At least his naivety was the only way Sonic seemed stupid instead of being constantly insanely dumb like usual in
07:40this show.
07:40And he wasn't really stupid because it was actually smart to try whatever it takes to end this that others
07:46aren't doing.
07:47Even though it seems pointless.
07:49And it always feels pointless from being a waste of time because usually nothing's happening while he's reasoning with him
07:54and he always fails.
07:57It's too bad none of the Amy's could have been here because they would feel more natural trying to reason
08:02with him.
08:03I wish they cut out most of its fillers so they could have room for the important contents of the
08:07next episode and put it in this one and have this be the last episode.
08:12A lot more of it should have been focused on Sonic and Nine fighting each other after all of the
08:17frustration Nine put us through.
08:19I didn't care about what most of the other characters were going through.
08:24Dreaded a sweet moment but it wasn't relevant to the plot progression.
08:28Dreaded a sweet moment in my heart.
08:28Dreaded a sweet moment because he's having a sweet moment to meet the most of his friends,
08:28That's so amazing.
08:28Rewinded a sweet moment and it's very good at working with working with Charlie K.
