00:00Well, it's now time to check in with Rochelle for tonight's weather forecast.
00:04Thanks, Vash. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. It's now time for your weather.
00:09We're starting off with what happened today.
00:11Scattered pockets of heavy rainfall impacted parts of Trinidad's eastern and northern regions
00:18with gusty winds accompanying activity as it drifted northwesterly.
00:23Tobago experienced a line of moderate to intense rainfall that approached from the east
00:28with rarely cloudy skies and scattered light showers.
00:32Parts of eastern Trinidad and Tobago picked up between 75 and 100 millimeters of rainfall
00:39over the last 36 hours, leading to flooding, landslides, and falling trees in some areas.
00:47And here's what's happening.
00:48Widely scattered light to moderate rain is ongoing near and across much of the Windward Islands,
00:54including Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.
00:57The adverse weather alert yellow level is still in effect through 4 p.m. on Thursday for the island.
01:04Now for conditions in Port of Spain currently, we have a few clouds with temperatures at 26 degrees
01:09and we have winds coming east-southeast at 11 kilometers per hour.
01:14Humidity is at 83 percent.
01:16And over in Tobago, there's some light rain with temperatures getting down to 25 degrees
01:21and east coming northeast at 9 kilometers per hour.
01:25We have humidity at 88 percent.
01:28And tonight will be cloudy with a few light showers expected
01:32with minimum temperatures of 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 over in Tobago.
01:37And of course, you are expected to have your umbrellas on standby because according to the Met Office,
01:43tomorrow will be party cloudy and breezy at times,
01:46accompanied by scattered light to moderate showers over most areas.
01:51There's a medium chance some of these showers could become heavy or thundery,
01:55especially near dawn and during the afternoon.
01:59We have maximum temperatures expected to come in at 30 degrees in Trinidad and Tobago.
02:04Now to answer your question, yes, there's more rain ahead, but it gets better.
02:10In our two-day forecast, Friday in Trinidad, conditions are looking fair to party cloudy at times
02:16with showers mostly over southern areas.
02:19However, conditions will improve as the afternoon progresses.
02:23But there is a low chance isolated thunderstorms could develop.
02:27Tobago, on the other hand, will experience long fair periods
02:30interrupted by isolated light to moderate showers in confined areas.
02:35Maximum temperatures are forecast at around 30 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
02:41Now on Saturday, both islands will be fair and breezy,
02:45with some isolated showers making a quick appearance,
02:48with maximum temperatures of 30 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
02:53For those of you leaving home before sunrise tomorrow,
02:56you can catch it on your journey at work at 610 in Trinidad and 607 over in Tobago.
03:03And sunset at 542 in Trinidad and 537 over in Tobago.
03:09Now, I wouldn't recommend a beach day tomorrow, but let's still check in on our seas.
03:14Seas are moderate with waves up to 2 meters,
03:17occasionally peaking to 2.5 meters in open waters
03:20and near 1 meter in sheltered areas.
