00:00Thanks, Deesha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. It's that time again. It's time for your weather.
00:05Today, we had an adverse weather alert yellow level that was in effect from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, which is now discontinued.
00:14Here's what happened.
00:16Thunderstorm activity with excessive rainfall, gusty winds and lightning discharges affected areas on the western half of Trinidad.
00:23These areas included Port of Spain, Nego Martin, Chaguanas, Coover, San Fernando and Point Fortin.
00:30Severe impacts including flash flooding and landslips occurred in some areas.
00:36Moving on to what's happening presently in Port of Spain, TV6's Weather Center says downtown is mostly clear with temperatures at 30 degrees Celsius.
00:45We have winds coming east-southeast at 3 knots and humidities at 79%.
00:50Well, what's tonight looking like? Are we getting more rain tonight?
00:55Well, according to the Met Office, tonight will be generally settled with a few partly cloudy swells and showers that will likely develop over a few areas after midnight.
01:07There is a low chance of thunderstorm activity.
01:10Minimum temperatures are 24 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
01:14Tomorrow, we're getting a nice mix of conditions as conditions are expected to be generally sunny and hazy.
01:22We're getting a few periods of increased cloud cover and showers that are likely over a few areas.
01:28There's a medium chance of thunderstorm activity favoring Trinidad.
01:32Conditions should settle by evening apart from lingering isolated showers.
01:36Now, there is a mild to moderate concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere.
01:42So, persons sensitively take the necessary precautions.
01:45Maximum temperatures are 32 degrees in both Trinidad and Tobago.
01:49And for our two-day forecast, Thursday will follow tomorrow with a mix of sunny and cloudy periods.
01:56Scattered showers are likely.
01:58The thunderstorm activity has a medium chance of occurring, especially over Trinidad.
02:03And, well, Friday will be a brighter day with generally sunny conditions, with some showers likely over a few areas.
02:11There's a medium chance of ice with thunderstorm activity and it will favor western areas of Trinidad.
02:18Maximum temperatures are 31 degrees in both Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday and 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago on Friday.
02:27Now, if you're looking to take a dip at the beach tomorrow, your seas are looking moderate with waves near 1.5 meters in open waters and near 1 meter, occasionally choppy, in sheltered areas.
