00:00But not at all. One place that's not quiet tonight into tomorrow, last night, this whole weekend is Tobago, Rochelle.
00:07They're experiencing their carnival. Are you heading across one and two? What can revelers expect?
00:13I'm not heading over, but they can expect some fair conditions, but also some showers to cool them down while they parade on the streets.
00:21But I'll tell you more at the Weather Center.
00:22It's Friday and Carnival Friday over in Tobago, so I know the partying has started.
00:32But let's also start our weather.
00:34Let's begin with Tropical Storm Melissa.
00:37Now, Melissa was nearly stationary in the Central Caribbean today, with forecasters warning it could soon strengthen and swipe Jamaica as a powerful hurricane while unleashing catastrophic flooding and landslides in southern Haiti.
00:51The erratic storm was expected to drop copious rain on Jamaica and the southern regions of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
01:00At least three people were reported killed in Haiti.
01:04Deputy Director at the U.S. National Hurricane Center indicated that these heavy rains are just going to sit over one area for several days.
01:13The storm was located 230 miles southeast of Kingston, Jamaica, and about 250 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
01:23A hurricane watch and a tropical storm warning were in effect for Jamaica and Haiti's southwest peninsula.
01:29Up to 20 inches of rain is forecast for parts of southwest Haiti and east Jamaica through Monday, with higher amounts possible.
01:37The National Hurricane Center warned that heavy rainfall would cause catastrophic flash flooding and landslides across northwestern Haiti by this weekend into early next week.
01:49Now, for conditions in Port-au-Prince, Spain currently, we have temperatures at 28 degrees and winds coming east-southeast at 11 kilometers per hour.
01:59Humidity is 74%.
02:01And over in Tobago, temperatures at 29 degrees with winds coming east-southeast at the same 11 kilometers per hour at 79% humidity.
02:13Moving on tonight, we're having mostly fair conditions with minimum temperatures at 24 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
02:21Now, tomorrow, I know most of you will be partying over in Tobago, so you might want to know what to expect.
02:29Mostly fair conditions, but some intermittent party cloudy intervals will occur, associated with light to moderate showers.
02:37These showers would take place near, but not confined to hilly areas.
02:43There's a low chance some of these afternoon showers could become heavy and or thundery.
02:48Tomorrow's maximum temperatures are 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 over in Tobago.
02:56And as the party continues, so too will be isolated showers.
03:00On Sunday, conditions will be party cloudy from late morning to afternoon with isolated showers and thunderstorms developing over most areas.
03:09Maximum temperatures on Sunday will be around 33 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
03:16Monday, on the other hand, will be mostly fair, though some isolated afternoon showers are expected as well.
03:23Maximum temperatures will be 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago on Monday.
03:29Now, I know most of you will also be hitting the beach.
03:32Our seas will be moderate with waves 1.5 meters to 2 meters in open waters and 0.5 meters to 1 meter, occasionally choppy, in sheltered areas.
03:42Looking at our sun times now, in Trinidad, sunrises at 5.56 and it was set at 5.44.

04:07Have a safe, fun and responsible carnival and remember to look out for your friends and don't drink and drive.
