00:00hey guys welcome back to the prices once again this is your host of the game and today is

00:05we're going to be doing another movie review now today i'm going to be doing a foreign right one

00:13that's not a part of your typical hollywood machine so this is actually being an interesting

00:18real freshman per se today i'm going to be doing an indonesian film called the raid otherwise known

00:25as the raid redemption going to the u.s release okay this film this action film is basically

00:35this ensemble cast who is who plays these pretty much this indonesian version of the swat team

00:43and then you have the rookie joins them and they'll tilt and they go on this raid on this apartment

00:50block with the intent of taking out this crime lord that's really the gist of it and when you

00:59see this film you're like whoa where has this film been all my life you know you've been watching

01:06hollywood films like forever i see them everywhere but you never see anything like this or at least

01:13not in any recent memory okay first of all i have to start off with two on time this film is on the

01:22tour has a barely a hundred minutes now it's very short and i have to say that's probably the film's

01:28strongest point to it you know being that short it doesn't have really much going forward is very

01:36simple straight to the point you know it gets right into the action like just 10 minutes into

01:42the film and you're already getting into the action you know the first five minutes is premise and the

01:49next five minutes is setting it up and then the rest is all action and i'm not even kidding it's

01:56action straight through to the end maybe like a couple of scenes here and there in between where the

02:04characters start to you know do this and that because it can be like literally all action

02:12right you have to have like some moments to bleed and that stuff and let the story progress because

02:20there's still a story going on right it's a raid going on and throughout the whole film i'm just

02:25sitting here like whoa like bro they they really finished the hell out of this right because

02:33what happens here and you watch this film right throughout this whole apartment but you have the

02:37screw to divide it up they have to go fight these guys throughout the whole apartment but i also go

02:44work their way up to the the poster you know it's kind of like a video game in sense you can say

02:50you know you have to beat all these guys to get to the boss level it's structured like that but it's

02:56pretty cool but throughout the film you see brilliantly executed action scenes incredible stunt work

03:04and really good story choreography fighting choreography overall even very good cinematography as well you

03:12know it's great across the board you know the only thing i can really say that i can think it on is

03:22the the acting per se more specifically the right because it's a foreign language film it's an indonesian

03:31film the characters don't speak english and because of that you know you have left with two options either

03:39you watch the original foreign language one with subtitles or you watch the dub version yes and there is a dub

03:50version however unlike enemies that get dubs movies that get dubs are very poor you know it

04:01it doesn't translate well only a dub in a live action movie with real people that's gonna put it as

04:08that but yes i watched the dub version so i really rate them so much on that um i would say the actors

04:17did the rules good when it comes to the and they're actually doing the fighting if you look at it right

04:23they're not like all the way all these actors you know they try to make them look like they're doing the

04:29action but in reality they have like two stunt doubles or so filling in for them but these guys

04:35they actually do their stunts then second strongest suit to this film is the way everything's been

04:43executed i said from the runtime which is pitch perfect i don't really have any negative to say about

04:51this movie which is seen a lot like you know usually these types of movies these action triggers as good

04:59as they can get they usually like some downside to them like maybe the acting is wasn't all that or maybe

05:08the soundtrack or directing or something like that over one time this film was not that it pretty much

05:16nail almost everything you know and it sets up a sequel which is another thing one dimension the whole

05:23storyline they gave you some backstory here and there to the character like you get to find out that

05:29there's history to them but they don't like explain everything like exposition don't story they just

05:36give you enough to let you know that oh there's some history here this is an actual that you can go into

05:42and i really like that i think that's like the perfect way to set up your series or universe or whatever

05:49don't try to explain things with exposition dumps just give it a tidbits here and there

05:57know to let the audience know okay there's stuff here and they just do it like that right it'll save you

06:05a lot of run time a lot unnecessary writing and so with that being said i'm gonna rate this

06:12film a nine out of ten no it's an excellent film it could have been perfect if it wasn't maybe for

06:23the the the ending i think they could have done a little bit more the ending especially given the

06:29the short fast pace the runtime this film had i felt like they probably could have added in a bit more

06:38i mean not that the ending was bad it was too and it's fairly good i feel like if it were the point

06:44of the weeks but the ending was the weakest spot in the film for me per se right but nonetheless it still

06:51gets a nine out of ten right because the weakest spot in a movie that's excellent isn't really all that
