The West Indies only option left is avoid a clean sweep in the final of three ODI's tonight against New Zealand.

This follows the visitors 3-1 defeat in the preceding T20 series.

And the Caribbean men already have an eye on the upcoming three-match Test series.

As head coach Darren Sammy fielded questions over the recall of veteran pacer Kemar Roach while batting in defence of his under-pressure batting coach Floyd Reifer.

00:00Attention will soon switch from the white ball to the red ball with a three-match test series against New Zealand set to bowl off on December 2nd.
00:08The Caribbean men will have one tour match before starting on Tuesday and Kumar Roach is set to feature in that match.
00:15The 37-year-old Barbadians' return to the squad is paramount with the injuries to speedsters Alzari and Shemar Joseph.
00:22And Wendy's head coach Darren Sami says Roach's experience gives them a chance to beat the Black Caps.
00:28The lack of our experience in Joseph and the two Josephs, Kima now comes in with that experience.
00:40And again, if we have Jadon, Kima leading the attack, and when I say leading the attack in terms of experience,
00:53and Kima probably, out of all the fast bowlers, would probably be the only one who had experience in New Zealand in the test match as well.
01:05So, it may be harsh in hindsight because he's back, but in our minds, we never wrote off Kima.
01:17And Sami responded to what happens next for Roach when Alzari and Shemar Joseph are both back healthy and available again.
01:25It gives me a great list to pick from.
01:30That's what it does.
01:31It gives me, you know, it fulfills some of the things, you know, Jomar has been trying to do, broaden our pool.
01:40So, if we have a performing lane, a performing Anderson, a performing, you know, Kima,
01:47and then we have the services of Alzari and Shemar back in the squad,
01:53it puts West in this fast bowling unit in a great position to select from.
01:58The St. Lucian coach also came out in defense of his batting coach, Floyd Riefer,
02:02who has been under scrutiny following inconsistent batting performances under his watch.
02:07I have seen Floyd Riefer work tirelessly every single day at training.
02:19The effort he puts, the attention he puts to detail, you know, trying to get our guys ready.
02:25And I saw Floyd taking Rutherford relentlessly and Casey Carty
02:33and starting to work on areas that pertains to their role and how they want to play.
02:41And what I saw from Casey Carty, what I saw from Rutherford during that year, 2024,
02:52when he made the ODI team of the year.
02:55And I never heard, not one time, the work that Floyd did with these players.
