00:00Despite losing the opening ODI by 41 runs on Wednesday, West Indies head coach Darren Sami is staying true to
00:06his preparations and game plan ahead of the second match tomorrow.
00:09As a coaching staff, we were really happy with what we saw coming out of the camp. Some of the
00:15things we did in the game, we controlled both power plays, but we came out after the first 10 overs
00:23in each phase of the game, batting and bowling, we were on top.
00:26It's about, you know, keeping that momentum, winning more moments in the game to result in a victory for us.
00:34However, there's one area in particular that St. Lucian is hopeful his West Indian players can improve on.
00:40I thought we definitely have to play their spin much better. Some of the key points we highlighted before the
00:49series.
00:49The difference between playing their spinners on surfaces that can't pose a challenge.
00:58And, you know, their spinners went probably for 68 runs of 20 overs, something that we've got to be better
01:04at in the next game.
01:05We've spoken about it and it's about getting the confidence to have all the skills they've been working on, you
01:13know, to implement it in the game.
01:15Sammy highlighted a number of positives from their new opening pair, their new ball spell and also the leadership of
01:21skipper Shea Hope.
01:22I see him as one of our greatest ODI batsmen. His record, his consistency.
01:30But for me, just having been here working with him, seeing him work, there's no surprise to me, the numbers
01:38he puts out there.
01:39He pays a lot of attention to details with his preparation and he works really hard to be consistent.
01:47As for the Sabina Park surface tomorrow, Sammy gave his assessment and a prediction.
01:52I think it will be a better surface. The first game, there were some bare patches where the ball spun.
02:01But looking at the surface today, I saw it looked much better, much harder.
02:07So I expect it to be firmer. So then I don't expect it to spin that much.
02:15But this is the Caribbean, we never know.
02:18Terence Clark, TV6 Sport.
02:22So, everyone here comes from the진, I think.
02:22And so we're doing the same thing for the big thing.
02:22So people who have won't do this.
02:23They're not going to have some damage in this position, that's the end of this.
