00:00The last time West Indies played test cricket in Jamaica they ended up
00:04splitting a two match series against Pakistan. Now they head to Sabina Park
00:08up 1-0 against Bangladesh after dominating the opening test in Antigua.
00:12And the main feature of that victory was the emergence of the West Indies legacy
00:16of raw pace and vice-kipper Joshua De Silva says we're going to see more of
00:21the same from the fearsome foursome. Raw pace and talent led very well by
00:26Kemal Zahri, we have the newcomers like Shamar, we have Jaden who's been around a
00:29little while but still learning his trade but the pace is there and you can
00:34see the fear that they put into the batsmen eyes. We took 18
00:39wickets only because they declared the first inning and then declared the second
00:42inning as well. So for us it's it's about using that advantage that we have and
00:46hopefully we can make that the reason we make it 2-0. But it wasn't the perfect
00:50match for the Caribbean men as they were skittled out for 152 batting a second
00:55time around and that wasn't lost on De Silva who said well they have to do
00:59better next time around. The first the first innings we got 450 which was was
01:03a goal you're not gonna bat well all the time but at the end of the day we want
01:07to be consistent I think that's what the batsmen need to do myself included I
01:10haven't been as consistent as I should be so as a batting group we we have some
01:14pretty young some young batsmen in the middle order who play less than 10 test
01:18matches or just coming up on 10 so for us it's it's about learning how to be
01:21more consistent getting those 400 300 plus scores consistently we know we're
01:25gonna get the wickets it's just about the batsmen putting on the totals and
01:28I'm not I'm not worried about it I believe that we have the talent it's
01:32just about the boys finding their feet properly and and we'll get the job done.
01:34As for his personal form the wicketkeeper batsman is just hoping to
01:38find consistency. For me it's just I just want to be consistent that's all it is
01:42getting into the teens is a start and I want to convert those stats in the 50s
01:46and 100s and and get that average up yeah that's on my part so for me it's
01:51about just getting those those scores in and making sure that I'm helping the
01:54team and once I do that I'm pretty sure more batsmen will build partnerships and
01:57we'll be in better positions to win games.
