West Indies will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Pakistan following on from their demoralizing series defeat against Australia. Windies and Pakistan will lock horns in the first of three T20 Internationals. Coach of the West Indies team Darren Sammy is encouraging his players forget the past and look forward to playing exciting cricket against new opponents.

00:10reset their minds as they prepare for a new battle we as a as a t20 unit in the transition phase from
00:18you know different captain um it's just building that mindset of of belief i'm just being more
00:27game aware um in the different situations and uh just by looking at the guys train i encourage them
00:34to you know to change their mindset uh from the australia series into the pakistan series to be
00:41more more consistent in the execution um more
00:50aware uh in in the situations of of the game sammy added there are some injury worries that
00:56that forced the changes shimran hetmeyer brandon king and alzari joseph are out
01:01while alec athenes johnson charles and the shima joseph replaced them we have a few injuries
01:08that will really impact the the bulk of our batting we have hetmeyer brandon king both suffered
01:17side in side side injuries we have rovman powell suffered from a wrist injury still there's a
01:26possibility that he'll be he'll be present and you know we called on and we also had evan newest who
01:34who sustained injuries sammy added there were difficulties finding replacements unfortunately
01:41kai mayors doesn't have a visa so we they are working on that we also contacted alec athenes
01:51who is right now in in st lucia playing for the winwood islands and he's gonna fly back to dominica
02:01hopefully could get him back here uh in time for for the for the first game and in that process also we
02:11we had to get johnson charles here as early as possible in order for us to have a full squad to
02:18to select from however he believes that they still have a team that will be competitive
02:23it looks like a good wicket and we're excited you know pakistan is an exciting team we also
02:30are an exciting team the caliber of players yet although we have some injuries but uh it's gonna
02:36be a very interesting series and one that we hope could uh bring the wins back in our corner
