15 November - National weather forecast presented by Amy Bokota.
Transcript
00:00Hello and a very good morning to you. Weather looking much calmer after the intense rain
00:05that we saw with storm cloudier on Friday. Let's take a look at the local picture of
00:09what we're expecting. So storm cloudier is still far away from the UK. That frontal system
00:13that affected us through Friday and still through Saturday, slowly fizzling away and
00:17sinking south. And as we head in towards Sunday, high pressure begins to hedge in from the north
00:22and we get a northerly flow and colder weather to end the weekend. Back to Saturday morning,
00:28so quite a grey start for much of the UK. Across the southern half of the UK, there could
00:32be fog patches and a few showers in the mix. That frontal system still lingering on across
00:37huge swathes of England and particularly Wales and almost pushing up in towards Northern
00:41Ireland as well. Won't be quite as intense with that rainfall, but it will be fairly persistently
00:46drizzly, particularly over high ground, and it's still going to be a pretty great day.
00:51Notice those winds again still coming from that easterly direction. And whilst they will be
00:55less intense than seen on Friday, it still will be a pretty breezy day for some places,
00:59particularly parts of the Pennine, south-western Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland. Again,
01:03still seeing breezy conditions over those high grounds. Best of the sunshine though will be,
01:08particularly western Scotland, cool, but it will be a fairly bright and sunny day there.
01:14Temperatures at best around six or seven degrees, so fairly cool despite that sunshine. Further
01:20milder, but particularly parts of that north-eastern coast of the UK onto that North Sea, with that
01:26strong breeze, it's going to be feeling particularly chilly here. Mildest conditions across the far
01:31south of England, 15 degrees, and if you do see a break in that sunshine, it will be feeling
01:35particularly pleasant for a November day. Heading through the rest of the evening then, so that frontal
01:42system slowly begins to sink its way southwards as we head through Saturday and into Sunday. So that rain
01:49beginning to slowly fizzle away, but there will be drizzly patches continuing as we head through
01:53Sunday night and into the start of Sunday. Temperatures, again, it's going to be a fairly mild
02:00start to the day across the far south, still holding up into the 10 or 11 degrees, but further north
02:06it's going to be a much cooler affair. Parts of Northern Ireland seeing a brighter and cooler start
02:10to the day on Sunday, and we're going to see further frost across Scotland, but notice we're going to
02:16start to see these stronger winds as we head through Sunday. We've got this band of rain that'll be
02:21sinking southwards and we could see some hill snow on this, particularly over the higher ground as we
02:26head through Sunday. And with that strong northerly wind for parts of Northern Scotland, down that east
02:31coast, it will be feeling particularly chilly as we head through Sunday. Temperatures at best around
02:36seven or eight degrees, and we could still see some decent sunshine pushing into parts of North West
02:41England and maybe even down the east coast, but it's holding into quite a grey, mild picture with
02:46some drizzle remaining across the far south of England. Heading through the rest of the weekend
02:52though, so we do have this cold air plunging south, and as we head into the start of next week it will
02:58be turning much colder, and that'll be covering pretty much the whole of the UK, and we could see
03:03some cooler conditions as we head through the rest of the week. If you want to hear any more about
03:08that cooler weather that's heading towards us, keep ahead of the forecast by looking at our
03:13YouTube channel and checking out the website. That's all from me, thanks.
