00:00Hello there, good afternoon.
00:02A real north-south split in the weather today.
00:04Across the north, often feeling cooler, some spells of rain here at times, but actually
00:08across the south, plenty of warm sunshine to go around.
00:12Now, where we'll see the bulk of the rain will be across northeast England, also some
00:16showers starting to pep up across northern areas of England, parts of Wales, perhaps
00:19central areas of England later, these could turn heavy.
00:23But to the far north and south of this rain band, lots of dry weather and plenty of sunny
00:28spells.
00:28The real difference, though, is in the temperatures.
00:31Now across many central and southern areas, we could see temperatures into the low 20s,
00:36highs of 22, maybe 23 degrees Celsius.
00:39But across Scotland, Northern Ireland, parts of northern England, temperatures are going
00:42to struggle here, mostly between 10 to 13 degrees, so feeling rather chilly at times.
00:48Now some spells of rain and showers at times may linger into the evening, but as this band
00:52of rain sinks its way southwards, it largely eases away.
00:55It will bring plenty of cloud, though, across central and southern areas.
00:58There's also some spells of rain just starting to clip the very far southeast coast as we
01:02head towards dawn.
01:03And rather breezy here, so that should hold temperatures up to around the high single figures.
01:08But across Scotland, northern parts of England and Northern Ireland, plenty of clear skies.
01:13So quite a patchy frost in places, some rural spots likely dipping below freezing.
01:18So a rather chilly start here, but actually across the south, cloudy and fairly breezy as well.
01:23It's all thanks to where high pressure is sitting across the Atlantic if we follow these winds
01:27around many areas across the south, just reaching the southeastern flank of that high.
01:32So it's often going to be breezier here, and that is going to have an impact on the temperatures.
01:36But actually across the large majority, it's going to be another dry end to the weekend.
01:40Lots of sunny spells.
01:41Any rain across the southeast largely easing away.
01:44We will also see some persistent spells of rain just sinking their way southwards across
01:48Scotland, this heavy at times, but rather dry for the majority of the country.
01:53And sunny spells once again, but similarly there's a difference in the temperatures.
01:57Feeling much cooler for many areas.
01:59Highs reaching around 16, possibly 17 degrees Celsius in parts of the south, but we can see
02:05across a large majority of the country, temperatures between 10 to 13 degrees.
02:09So a much chillier day on offer, particularly across southern areas where there's quite a brisk
02:14easterly breeze, really adding on to the chill of the temperatures.
02:17In fact, many areas across the south and southeast could even be a good five degrees difference
02:22compared to what we'll see this afternoon.
02:23So many of us will really be feeling the chill.
02:26Temperatures a degree or two higher across parts of Scotland, northern parts of England
02:29with less cloud around.
02:31And the chillier feel does remain into next week.
02:34We continue to see high pressure out into the Atlantic.
02:37It drifts its way westwards a little more, so winds will ease up across parts of the south,
02:41but it will once again intensify a bit of a northerly flow of air, so getting some chilly
02:46northerly air at times, which is going to make things feel that much colder into next
02:50week.
02:50And a little unsettled at times with some cloud and some showers, but hopefully plenty of
02:55brighter interludes as well.
02:57But of course, for more updates on next week's weather, don't forget you can always subscribe.
