00:00Hello there, good morning. It's the last weekend before Christmas, so I'm sure many
00:05of us will be out and about with some festive plans. But the big question is, is it going
00:09to remain dry? Well, it's certainly going to be drier than some of the weather we had
00:13last week. A ridge of high pressure just to the east will make sure of that. But we do
00:17have this slow-moving cold front eventually pushing into western areas, and that may bring
00:21some persistent rain, particularly across Northern Ireland and parts of south-west England
00:26and Wales. For the time being though, it should be mostly dry across many areas. It's likely
00:31there'll be some mist and fog around through the early hours of the morning, particularly
00:34across central England, parts of the east and south-east, and that could be a little bit
00:38slow to clear through the course of this morning. And a chilly in places with some patchy frost,
00:44but for most it should be a mostly dry start to the weekend. Plenty of sunny spells by the
00:48time we reach the afternoon. One or two showers, but you'll be unlucky if you catch any of those
00:53and we'll eventually start to see more cloud push in from the west. Some spells of quite
00:57heavy rain at times pushing into parts of Cornwall, possibly parts of Pembrokeshire,
01:02by the end of the day on Saturday. But we can see for most it should remain mostly dry.
01:08Now still plenty of blustery winds, particularly around western coasts, but for many eastern
01:12areas those winds should remain light. And with temperatures around about average for this
01:16time of year, where we do see those sunnier spots, it should feel rather pleasant.
01:21Then into the evening, more cloud eventually pushing in from the west, some spells of rain
01:26alongside it. This could turn a little heavy at times. And through the course of the evening,
01:30we'll see more and more cloud build from the south, still with some spells of rain and also
01:35some showers. And some of this cloud could turn quite low by the early hours of the morning,
01:39leading into quite a murky start, some fog in particular around hilly areas. But with cloud
01:44around, that should mostly hold temperatures across towns and cities to around the mid single
01:50figures. So not feeling quite as chilly during Sunday morning as it will perhaps this morning.
01:54Then I'm afraid Sunday is going to remain quite cloudy, rather murky in places, particularly
02:01where we see some foggy conditions stick around. And this cloud will be thick enough to produce
02:05some rain and drizzle. And once again, it could be heavy at times, particularly across southwest
02:09England and parts of Wales as we head in towards the afternoon. Winds are fairly light, though
02:15we're starting to see a change towards a bit more of an easterly. So under the cloud
02:19and in that easterly breeze, particularly around any eastern exposed coasts, it is going to
02:23be feeling that much chillier. That's despite temperatures being around about average for
02:28this time in December. Then, of course, as we head into next week, the lead up into Christmas.
02:34Actually, the forecast remains fairly similar, quite cloudy, chilly with some rain and drizzle
02:40at times. As we head closer to the big day, we'll find low pressure situated to the south,
02:45high pressure to the northeast. So that really maintains that easterly flow. And as we go
02:50on day by day, we'll eventually start to pick up some colder air. So it is definitely going
02:54to start to feel that bit chillier, particularly as it's been so mild through the end of this
02:59year. So it's going to be chillier as we head towards Christmas, some cloud, possibly some
03:04drizzle at times. But for more updates on your Christmas forecast, don't forget you can
