08 November - National afternoon forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good afternoon.
00:02After a foggy start this morning, plenty of sunshine around into this afternoon, but will
00:06the sun stick around for the whole of the weekend?
00:09Well, plenty of sunny spells across the country, though a bit more cloudy across Scotland,
00:14this cloud thick enough to produce some drizzle at times, and we also can't rule out some
00:17showers just drifting into coasts of Wales and south-west England, though you'll be
00:22quite unlucky if you catch any of these showers.
00:24For most, it's a dry start to the weekend and there will be plenty of sunshine.
00:28With light winds, it should feel pleasant in the sunshine as well, highs reaching around
00:3215 degrees Celsius.
00:35Now into this evening, there is going to be a bit of a change on its way, thicker areas
00:39of cloud and some outbreaks of rain initially pushing into Northern Ireland and then eventually
00:43into parts of Scotland, possibly even north-west England.
00:46This could turn quite heavy, particularly across Northern Ireland as we head through the early
00:50hours of the morning, but elsewhere, mostly dry, light winds and clear skies, so the perfect
00:55ingredients force a mist and fog to develop once again through the early hours of the
00:59morning and feeling quite chilly across towns and cities, many reaching around the mid to
01:04high single figures.
01:05Then for Sunday, more of an unsettled day ahead.
01:09Further areas of cloud, outbreaks of rain sweeping in from the west.
01:13This too could be heavy at times, particularly across Wales and south-west England through the
01:16middle part of the day.
01:17Eventually pushing northwards, clearing Scotland, though some heavy showers following on behind.
01:22Brightening up across Northern Ireland though, some sunshine developing here and it should
01:26remain mostly dry and bright across the far south-east of England, but some cloud pushing
01:31through could create some hazier spells of sunshine later on in the day.
01:35But in any brighter spells, still temperatures above average for the time of year, highs reaching
01:4015 degrees, so still feeling pleasant in any sunny or brighter periods.
01:46Into the evening, still further spells of rain and also some showers.
01:50Highs could turn quite heavy, particularly across the south through into the evening, but a mostly
01:54dry, calm end to the day across Scotland and Northern Ireland, though some showers around
01:59coastal areas.
02:00Now, low pressure is never too far away as we head into next week, often dumbbelling around
02:05each other in the Atlantic, and this at times will sweep in some frontal systems as we progress
02:10through into the early part of next week.
02:11And notice the amount of isobars on the chart too, so we could start to see some quite blustery conditions
02:16heading into Tuesday, but of course for more updates on that, don't forget you can subscribe
02:20to our YouTube channel.
