00:00Hello and a very good morning to you. A damp and wet start for much of the UK,
00:04but there are a couple of places that will be turning a bit drier and brighter by the afternoon.
00:09Taking a look at the bigger picture then, so we've still got fairly cool air with a number of low
00:12pressures nearby on Thursday. But as we head through Thursday evening, we start to get more
00:17frontal systems arriving from the west, bringing mild air in from the Atlantic. That thing continues
00:22through the weekend and we get even milder air arriving by Saturday and further wet weather.
00:26And you can see the squeeze on those isobars, it's going to be a fairly breezy weekend as well.
00:31Moving through back to this morning then, a number of weather warnings enforce first thing. There's a
00:35risk of ice for parts of West Wales, but the main picture is there's rain for much of the UK
00:40and
00:40that will be spreading northwards, perhaps giving a risk of some snow over the high grounds of the
00:45Pennines. There's equally some rain bands moving across Northern Ireland and into Scotland. And
00:49again, over the high ground of the Highlands, we could see that falling as snow as well.
00:55Through the afternoon then, it will be still feeling fairly cool. Temperatures at best around 5 to 7
00:59degrees across the north eastern half of the country. Down that east coast where we still have
01:03that strong wind, that will be feeling still fairly cool. But around the central parts of the country,
01:08where those winds are a touch lighter than they were yesterday, might just feel a bit more pleasant
01:12and you might catch a few glimmers of sunshine perhaps around the Wales area. Through the rest of
01:18Thursday evening then, so we've got continuing to have this rain band moving across as we head through the
01:24evening. A couple of areas of drier weather moving across the far south of England as we head through the
01:30evening as well. Across the eastern half of the UK, holding on to some cloud, but again, a largely dry
01:36start to
01:36Friday morning. And here it could be quite frosty again, so temperatures around 0 to 2 degrees and a fairly
01:42cold start to the day on Friday. But for western parts, it's a touch milder. We've already got this frontal
01:48system,
01:48some arriving from the west, bringing fairly persistent and at times heavy rain. And you can notice that this wind
01:54is starting to increase as well by Friday morning. Moving through the rest of Friday then, so that dry
02:01weather across the east won't last too long. That frontal system is steadily making its way eastwards
02:06as we head through Friday. Again, there could be some heavy bursts on that. A few brighter spells developing
02:11as we head into Friday afternoon, but there will still be some heavy showers around as well. Notably more blustery
02:17and those temperatures will be up considerably from what we've had for the last couple of days,
02:22around 10 to 12 degrees in a few spots as well. As we head through the rest of the weekend,
02:28that wet
02:29and mild theme will continue. So if you want to find out any more about the weather this weekend,
02:34please do have a look at our forecast on the YouTube channel.
02:37As we head through the window.
