00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday morning weather update from the Met Office.

00:04This morning it's rather murky outside, lots of low cloud and the reason why, still high pressure, just dominating our weather like breezes.

00:13This cell of high pressure allows the air to descend, hence the reason why there's a lot of cloud trapped under this anti-cyclone

00:21and will continue to be the case through Thursday as well as Friday.

00:24But notice the centre of the high extends down towards Denmark and that allows the breeze to pick up.

00:30The air will mix up a little bit, some brighter breaks before the onset of some rain through the latter part of the weekend.

00:37For the time being, a little rain across Shetland, more cloud just spilling ahead of it as well.

00:41Splits and spots of rain can't be ruled out across the Outer Hebrides.

00:44Some breaks though, particularly across the west there, the west of the Highlands.

00:48Generally we're running into a lot of stubborn cloud through this morning.

00:52Perhaps some breaks likely towards the far south and south-west.

00:56And notice where the centre of the high is, currently across the west of Scotland.

01:01And this is the periphery of that anti-cyclone, bringing more of a breeze down at the North Sea.

01:06Introducing thicker clouds and even some drizzly showers across eastern and south-eastern counties through the morning into the afternoon.

01:14We continue with some breaks across the Highlands, some brighter weather here.

01:18And if you're lucky, down towards the far south as well.

01:21For most though, yet again, it's a cloudy afternoon.

01:25A little damp in places.

01:26And if you're driving over any higher routes, you may run into some very low cloud, poor visibility.

01:33Now, temperatures coming in 12 or 13 in the north.

01:3513 to 16 in the south, where you catch some brighter weather.

01:39Possibly 16 or 17 degrees Celsius.

01:42Similar situation through Thursday.

01:44Watch out for some mist and fog first thing.

01:45A lot of stubborn cloud, low cloud at that.

01:48Temperatures 11 to 15 Celsius.

01:50And a similar situation through Friday.

01:53But as I said, all change is a slow process.

01:56It's coming in through the weekend.
