00:22It is a football Friday, and it's time to get down to your top spread lines for today,
00:26which includes a scary Bill Belichick and a scary Syracuse squad.
00:31Both of these teams stink this year in the ACC, squaring up at 730 tonight.
00:35Trick or treat, 45.5 is the actual total this game, and a favorite for Syracuse at minus 2.5.
00:41Carolina, Chapel Bill invades Syracuse.
00:45What's that spread line for this game, Joe?
00:47Well, it's not going well in Chapel Bill this season, obviously, here.
00:52But I'll tell you this.
00:53For all of the faults, I do give them credit because they were a half an inch short last week
00:58of going forward in overtime against a top 25 team in Virginia and came just a little short.
01:04They could be 3-4 instead.
01:06They're 2-5 on the season.
01:08And the one noticeable thing about the North Carolina team is after they got absolutely waxed
01:15by TCU in that opening game, it was clear there were some issues on the offensive side
01:20of the ball and defensive side of the ball.
01:22But ever since that game, Donnie, the defense, Belichick, you know that's his specialty.
01:28This is a legit defense here.
01:31They have been playing out of their mind.
01:33They are only giving up about 3.5, 3.6 yards per play over the last five games.
01:40So this is a legit defense.
01:42The offense is still horrific.
01:44But guess what?
01:45So is Syracuse's.
01:46Don't forget, Agnelli, they lost him in that Clemson game.
01:49He is out for the year when he broke his leg, and it's been all downhill.
01:55Both of these teams have quarterbacks that have more interceptions than actual touchdown
01:59passes.
02:00Both defenses.
02:02The best unit on this field is North Carolina's defense, which is why you saw this total, Donnie.
02:07Open up at 47.5, and it's sitting at 45.5.
02:11And I would not be surprised if this goes 45, 44.5 before kickoff.
02:17So if you like high-scoring games, don't watch this one.
02:22But get the underbed in sooner rather than later.
02:26Tomorrow, we will embark on the month of November, which means we're only a few weeks away from
02:30Thanksgiving, having that turkey feast year.
02:32But before we get there, we're feasting on some college football.
02:35And tomorrow, that includes a late-night game.
02:37The Cincinnati Bearcats go to the must to take on the Utah Utes.
02:40This line, Joe, opened up around a touchdown.
02:43I'm seeing now some outlets north of 10 points here as a favorite towards the home team.
02:48Utah, total in this game, sitting at 54.5.
02:51The Bearcats, what is the spread line here for you, Joe?
02:54Well, it's crazy, Donnie, right?
02:56Because we're talking about two of the best teams in the Big 12, right?
03:00Utah has had their issues, obviously.
03:03But nobody is treating them like they've had any issues here.
03:07And what else is Cincinnati supposed to do?
03:09Now, they are going to be down their top running back for this game, which is why we've seen
03:13this line go to double digits here.
03:17But Sorsby has been one of the best quarterbacks in college football that nobody is talking about.
03:21They've got a ton of weapons here.
03:23Never easy taking on Utah.
03:25We get that.
03:26But this line, Donnie, has gotten out of control.
03:30And I don't see it going back the other way.
03:33So 10.5 points, it might get a little bit higher before kick.
03:38But I'm all over it.
03:39I'll take as many points as you want to give me with the Cincinnati team.

04:03And there's not really a lot to do.

04:06Like week 10 means, okay, you're heading into November.
04:09A full slate of November football.
04:11A full slate of December football.
04:13A full slate of January football, which it calls bowl games.
04:16And also the college football playoff.
04:18So as much as we hate to see, like, where does the time go?
04:20And pretty soon we'll be saying, hey, Joe, pitchers and catchers in Major League Baseball.
04:25I love this because everything's heating up and we're getting elimination games on a week
04:29to week basis, even though it is week 10.
04:31And we started in week zero.
04:33Feels like just a few short weeks ago.
04:36Yeah, it's like, where is the time going here?
04:39And oh, yeah, by the way, Monday.
04:41Yes, Monday is the start of college basketball.
04:45Yeah, just to add a little, just a little nugget in there.
04:48Let's just throw, you know, 700 games a week in college hoops on top of the end of college
04:54football season, heading into the postseason.

06:30We might have thought before the season, this might decide a national championship or the

06:41So I love the coaching perspective.
06:43When you're an interim coach or you're a coach looking to stomp on, where are we going here?
06:46Well, who would have thought the biggest question on this one is going to be whether they can
06:50get 21 points because they're going to win the game.
06:52It's everything stacked against Penn State, going against the number one defense in the
06:59country, giving up 5.9.
07:01There's no weakness on this Ohio State team.
07:03And I'm taking the 21.
07:05They say they're not running it enough.
07:07But when your quarterback's throwing 80%, two of the best receivers in the country, why
07:12waste your time running it more?
07:14If they want to run, they can.
07:15But they're going to win this game behind that throwing and catching of that quarterback
07:19and receivers.
07:20One of the games of the week, Coach.
07:24It's their season, University of Texas.
07:27Doesn't matter to me who's under center there.
07:31It's that Texas defense is going to have to stand up and show out in this game against
07:35Vandy.
07:36What do you think?
07:37Yeah, I don't think it matters which one is going to be at quarterback.
07:40Of course, Arch Manning with a concussion protocol.
07:44I don't think they'll play him.
07:46He could possibly go, but that's a pretty big name.
07:49They got to protect him.

07:51The only quarterback that matters is the quarterback at Vanderbilt.

07:56Because you got a two and a half point spread.
07:58And in the last minute of the game, if you're down by three, he'll find a way to get a field

08:03If you're up by three, he'll find a way to get a first down.
08:06If it's going to be two and a half, it's going to be Vandy to win this football game.
08:11Coach, if you were coaching Vandy, like just being in the mix there on a week to week in
08:14the SEC, it's so tough.
08:15But each week, like they're playing heavyweight contest spreads under three each and every
08:20week.
08:20How do you keep the kids in line to say, hey, we got to go out and do it again.
08:24And now on the road, it's not how you keep them up.
08:27It's how you get them down.
08:28They're so sky high.
08:29They got to make sure they don't play the game on Tuesday or Wednesday, because I guarantee
08:33they got the most spirited practice.
08:35We're talking about a team that hadn't been seven and one since 1941.
08:39It's just when they're in uncharted water, they're so motivated and so expired.
08:45I'm amazed at how they're able to keep their emotions down to an even keel so they don't
08:50play the football game during the week.
08:53Coach, we've seen nothing but Miami money since this game opened up against SMU.
08:59They were 10, 10 and a half.
09:01It was as high as 12 and a half, even 13 during the week here.
09:05The SMU is not the same SMU from a year ago in the playoffs, Coach, are they?
09:10No, they are not.
09:12They've lost games and they've lost the last football game.
09:15Miami did show some weaknesses in their loss to Louisville, but they got it straight last
09:20week.
09:21Miami is a complete football team, and I believe they're back on track.
09:25SMU is not going to be too much of a burden in the way, so I am taking Miami, but I will
09:29say this, SMU down in town, I'm going to take their points in this football game.
09:34Try to keep it a little bit close there, Coach.

09:39Georgia and Florida, the world's largest outdoor cocktail party.

09:59I think they're getting down towards the end of the season.
10:02The biggest factor to me is Kirby Smart.

10:07He wins the big football games, and Georgia is getting better and better.
10:11I don't think they're as strong defensively as their championship teams, but I don't think
10:16Florida can overcome the change of coaches and all that to stay with him.
10:20So I'm going with Georgia to win and win by the spread.

10:28Also, you take a look at the Florida job is open.

10:36Well, because I like warm weather the older I get.

10:41I grew up in West Virginia, and we played Penn State every year.
10:45My father played Penn State as the head coach every year, but I've been in the SEC.
10:49I've coached in Florida.
10:50I want to be down in sunny weather if that's me.
10:54That's absolutely fantastic stuff.

11:37I thought maybe he'd begin to lose these kids, but he did not.
11:40These kids have been playing very hard.
11:42They had an opportunity to win that game at home against Virginia in overtime.
11:47Went for two, came up about six inches short there.
11:51They could be three and four on the season.
11:53But the one thing I know is that their offense is terrible.
11:57They're only averaging about 14 points a game right now against FBS teams.
12:01And guess whose offense is even worse?
12:04Syracuse.
12:05Why?
12:06Well, they have a backup quarterback who, again, has thrown more interceptions than actual
12:11touchdowns here.
12:12They are not good.
12:13But the really good part of North Carolina nobody's talking about is this defense here.
12:18They have been locked down and shut down.
12:21That was a huge effort against a very good offense in Virginia.
12:25I don't see, Donnie, if we're going to get 46 points in this game, I'm going to need one
12:30of these teams to get to 24 points.
12:32And guess what?
12:34Neither is getting to 24 points in this game.
12:36It's an absolute rock fight.
12:38It's an under for me tonight with North Carolina and Syracuse.
