00:00Wednesday night football, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee State.
00:03What's the spread line here for you, Joe?
00:05Well, interesting game here tonight, Donnie.
00:07We haven't seen Jacksonville State in about two weeks.
00:10It's been a hot minute since they've actually last played a game here,
00:14and both these teams aren't going to be racing to the top of Conference USA.
00:18But what's interesting is yesterday afternoon, this line opened up 6.5,
00:23and it was right around there, 6, 6.5 yesterday,
00:26before the money started pouring in here on Middle Tennessee State.
00:31And again, we always tell you, early week games like this,
00:35it's not the public running to the window to back Middle Tennessee State here,
00:39or Jacksonville State for that matter.
00:41It tends to be the more respected bettors,
00:44and it appears that the pros, Donnie, have a big interest in Middle Tennessee tonight,
00:50at home, getting points on this Wednesday night game here.
00:54So, keep an eye on this line.
00:56It continues to drop, starting to see fives in a lot of spots here in the market right now.
01:02Row, row, row your boat on Saturday afternoon.
01:053.30 kickoff, Michigan State, Minnesota.
01:08Why are we going to row the boat?
01:09That's P.J. Fleck.
01:10P.J. Fleck was rowing his boat without any paddles last week,
01:12as they got hammered by Iowa.
01:14But how about this, Joe?
01:15A four-and-a-half-point line here drops to three at most outlets,
01:18adds a favor to Minnesota, who's home, against Michigan State.
01:21Despite, I'm saying, heavy market presence there for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
01:25Are you seeing the same things, Joe?
01:26What's the spread line here?
01:29Donnie, this line, I talked to one of my buddies in a risk room in Las Vegas yesterday,
01:35and he told me none of it makes any sense.
01:38Minnesota opened up as a five-and-a-half-point favorite,
01:42and every day starting Monday,
01:44the pros have been coming in and hammering Michigan State.
01:48They bet them at five, they bet them at plus four-and-a-half,
01:51they bet them at four, and now they're down to three-and-a-half,
01:54even threes in some spots here.
01:57Now, we just saw Minnesota get absolutely annihilated by Iowa on the road,
02:02but prior to that, we saw them look pretty good against Nebraska at home.
02:07Minnesota is at home.
02:08Michigan State has not been good at all.
02:10But the pros, they don't care, Donnie.
02:12They have bet this thing down almost three points this week.
02:15Kind of head-scratching right now.
02:17Head-scratching it is.
02:19How about Texas Tech and Kansas State this weekend?
02:22Kansas State, the home team.
02:23That's a Saturday start at 3.30 Eastern, minus six-and-a-half on the opening numbers.
02:27Now we're looking at sevens and just a little bit higher as a favorite to the road team,
02:30Texas Tech.
02:31Kansas State, the home team, and a total of 53-and-a-half.
02:34Texas Tech and K-State.
02:37What's that spread line here?
02:39Well, this is interesting here because you got both teams off of pretty lopsided wins, right?
02:44K-State beat Kansas again for the 90th time in a row.
02:48Texas Tech absolutely mauled Oklahoma State.
02:51But the problem is, you know, we saw this line open up seven-and-a-half, and we've been kind of stuck at seven.
02:58Yet all the tickets seem to be coming in on Texas Tech here, Donnie.
03:03And yet we don't seem to have any more line movement.
03:06So you know what that means, if all the tickets and the public are betting Texas Tech and we haven't moved back to seven-and-a-half or eight,
03:14that means there is a sharp line freeze happening right now in this game,
03:19which is ironic given the fact that they just lost their starting quarterback a couple of weeks ago, Texas Tech.
03:25Their backup is now out for the rest of the season.
03:28Texas Tech is down to their third-string quarterback here in this game.
03:33A lot of money with the pros coming in on K-State here.
03:37Pour some out, people.
03:39And maybe you're not drinking alcohol this early in the morning.
03:41Pour some of your coffee out.
03:42Why?
03:42Because the words I'm going to say next are stinging, and they even hurt me.
03:46We wait so long for football season to get here, and we remind you in late August saying,
03:51this is going to go really fast.
03:53So the words I'm going to say right now, Joe, week 10 of the college football season is here.
04:00How does that ring, Joe?
04:01Because I get sentimental.
04:03Like, we just started football.
04:04Like, what are we doing here?
04:05Football should be 365.
04:06We shouldn't even get a break in football.
04:08It should just go like a soap opera and continue to go and make storylines,
04:12all 365 with games every week.
04:14I don't want to see it go.
04:15How do we get to week 10 already?
04:18It's kind of crazy, Donnie.
04:19Like, where does the time go here?
04:22But, you know, we are at that point in the season where, you know, week 10,
04:26every game matters for a lot of these teams.
04:30Now with the expanded playoffs, opportunities to make it and a chance to win a national championship.
04:37These next couple of weeks, Donnie, through November are absolutely huge here.
04:42So, yeah, it was a nice run, but now it's time to get down to it.
04:46Now it's the mean green.
04:47I love it, too.
04:48And by the way, take a look at those national championship odds right now.
04:50No surprise, the best defense and maybe one of the better offenses in college football.
04:54Yeah, it's Ohio State, plus 250 price.
04:57I got to tell you, like, Indiana at a 6-1 price, like, I hated Indiana last year.
05:02Couldn't wait to see them lose.
05:03I just didn't like the coach.
05:04I'm buying into this coach.
05:06I love the smack he's talking.
05:07I need Indiana to run it up there.
05:09And they're second in line in the odds market favored by Alabama.
05:12And there's those Notre Dame fighting Irish at 10-1 with two losses,
05:17driving up that odds leaderboard here.
05:19But it's Ohio State.
05:21Is anybody going to catch them in the end, Joe?
05:22Or is 250 a good price?
05:23Because, hey, they're going to win it anyway.
05:25You might as well take it now.
05:27Well, they're going to be there.
05:28Let's be realistic here.
05:29They're going to steamroll everyone else.
05:31And there's no way, if it's a choice between Notre Dame and somebody else, Donnie,
05:36that Notre Dame is always going to get the benefit of the doubt.
05:39Because we are pretty close, I think, to that first committee releasing, right,
05:44of the rankings and where everybody is.
05:46So, yep.
05:48And you've got a lot of ranked teams this week on the road, Donnie,
05:51which is also very interesting here in Week 10.
05:55So does home field matter in college football anymore?
05:58We're about to find out.
06:00No, sometimes it doesn't matter in Miami because they only show up for big games.
06:03And then Miami loses games they should win.
06:05And that brings us to our next game this weekend, Joe, a noon start.
06:10SMU headed to the big Lone Star State.
06:12That's those Miami Hurricanes.
06:13They opened up as an 11.5-point favorite.
06:15Some outlets, Joe, as high as 12.5 expectations for Miami to win by double digits.
06:20A lot of times Miami is favored by double digits, just like they were at home against Louisville
06:23and lost, but also favored by close to 30 points and won and covered against Stanford.
06:28What's the expectations this week for those Canes on the road against SMU?
06:32Well, it's crazy, Donnie.
06:34Number one, I mean, I bet this earlier in the week at 10, 10.5, Donnie.
06:40And now it's up to 12.5, which is absurd, given the fact that the public has this perception
06:46of Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes where, oh, absolutely not.
06:51There's no way they can be a double-digit favorite over SMU.
06:54Well, SMU might be the most overrated offense in the country.
07:00When you go to Wake Forest and you put up that kind of effort against that defense,
07:07which I think, and I've said it here, Wake Forest defense is very underrated,
07:11but they're not even remotely in the same conversation that this Miami defense is in.
07:16So the hype around SMU is way too much.
07:21This is a big Joes versus pros, Donnie.
07:23The pros are all over Miami because they're not buying SMU, but the public says,
07:28no way is SMU going to be at home and get boat raced by Mario Cristobal in Miami.
07:34Well, we're about to find out.
07:36If your offense is struggling, you got Mesidor and Bain on both defensive ends coming after you.
07:40Good luck this weekend.
07:41SMU, we'll see how that works out for you.
07:43But how about the world's largest outdoor cocktail party?
07:46That's going to take place where?
07:48Florida and Georgia.
07:49Split lines here.
07:51Halfway between campuses.
07:52Not really.
07:52It's still in the state of Florida.
07:53So technically closer to Gatorland than it is Athens.
07:56But how about this, Joe?
07:57Georgia, seven and a half to seven point favorite, depending on what you're shopping at.
08:00It stayed there all week long.
08:02Florida with no head coach.
08:03Can they fight in this game and maybe keep it closer than the odds makers anticipate?
08:08Somebody must think they can, Donnie, because, you know, Napier gone.
08:14They had the bye week coming out of the bye week here.
08:17They did win that game against Mississippi State, right?
08:21But, you know, this line, the look ahead line we saw was about seven and a half, eight.
08:26It opened eight.
08:28And they're not moving anywhere, even though I'm seeing a ton of tickets on Georgia here, Donnie,
08:34which would make sense.
08:35The public would look at this and say, give me Georgia all day.
08:38Florida's a mess.
08:40Yeah, well, that line is not getting back to eight, Donnie, is it still here?
08:44We're a few days into the week.
08:46So that means that line is frozen for a reason.
08:49Those are respected bettors backing Florida here in this one.
08:53By the way, I like, you know, the Red River rivalry.
08:56Come on now.
08:57Used to be, you know, the shootout, the Red River shootout.
08:59Like the world's largest outdoor cocktail party.
09:02What do they call it now?
09:03And they don't call it that anymore.
09:04What is it?
09:04Did they change it?
09:05Did they change it to something like PC?
09:07They say, yeah, something way more PC.
09:11Yeah, yeah.
09:11But that's what it always was to me, Donnie.
09:14And anybody that's, you know, been a college football fan for a decade or more, then it's always that.
09:20It'll never be different.
09:22And we all know it.
09:23So I don't know what they changed it to.
09:25It was something much more PC, though.
09:27I mean, come on now.
09:28Changing these rivalry games.
09:29And by the way, we really jumped the shark when it's like, hey, you know what?
09:31We can't call Oregon, Oregon State the Civil War anymore.
09:34Stop the madness, people.
09:36I mean, come on now.
09:36Let's get to another game.
09:37Indiana and Maryland.
09:39By the way, like I always used to look at Penn State when they were running hot, which means losing to every good team they played.
09:44But boy, when they got a team they can put their thumb on and smash, they would do it.
09:48Like, Indiana opened up at 22 and a half.
09:51They're now down to 21 and a half.
09:52And sometimes it's like, okay, all you need to do is win and move on.
09:55Who do you got next on the plate?
09:56Doesn't matter.
09:57They're on the road.
09:57But I find myself looking at Indiana with Signetti, and he loves nothing more than that.
10:01I think he knows every point spread and wants to smash teams just to make sure he gets his point across on that point spread as well.
10:09Anytime Indiana's lining up as a favorite, I'm buying in.
10:11Like, expectations?
10:13Indiana by four touchdowns for me, Joe.
10:15Come on.
10:16Well, it's even worse, Donnie.
10:17Every time he is a favorite by multiple touchdowns, it is ridiculous how many games he has covered here.
10:26And he takes no mercy, does not care.
10:29He will bury you here.
10:31And Maryland could be in for a very, very long day.
10:35You know, Rocky Musk said it one time, man, taking the mic after, you know, knocking off Ivan Drago.
10:40He's like, if I could change, then you could change.
10:43We all could change.
10:44And the Soviet crowd is like, you know what, man, America, Rocky, absolutely love it.
10:48That's me.
10:48I hated Indiana last year.
10:50But you know what, Joe?
10:51I can change, and you can change.
10:53We're all Hoosiers right now.
10:54We're just living in a Signetti world, and that's the way it is.
