00:00Let's start it off today, Joe, in the ACC.
00:02Late game tonight, 9.30 tip time from Charlotte.
00:05Clemson is going to take on North Carolina.
00:07This line overnight, Joe, sat at minus 1.5.
00:09This morning, as we do the early line, still sitting at minus 1.5.
00:13A total listed at 141.5 live with other outlets right now at 140.5.
00:19So a little downshift from that graphic of 142.5, Joe.
00:23Clemson, North Carolina, your spread line is what?
00:27Well, we watched Clemson last night, Donnie.
00:30Late game as well there, take on Wake Forest.
00:33They handled business in that opening game at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
00:37So, yeah, this might be a little—I think Clemson fans will be there in a big, big way,
00:42but obviously right in the backyard there of North Carolina,
00:46who has had to deal with some injuries here, and it's kind of been a rough stretch.
00:52But so did Clemson, Donnie, down the last, what, four weeks of the season?
00:58Clemson had gone through it.
00:59But they seem to have righted the ship last night.
01:02I think this was priced exactly where it needs to be, right?
01:05It feels like it's a pick-em game.
01:07The current, the way the state of the injuries and everything else with North Carolina,
01:13Clemson is going to want to make this thing a rock fight.
01:15I think it's correlated.
01:16If you like North Carolina, you're probably leaning to the over.
01:20If you like Clemson, you're probably leaning to the under in this one here tonight, Donnie.
01:25Let's get it over to the Big 12.
01:27TCU going to take on Kansas today.
01:28This game also going to tip late at 9.30 p.m. Eastern.
01:31You take a look at the line in this one.
01:33Overnight 5.5 still sits at most outlets at 5.5 this morning.
01:37Also, a total in this game around 141 at that opening number.
01:41142s in the marketplace now, so maybe a slight shift.
01:44The one thing we know about TCU, dead last in Big 12 play in effective field goal percentage.
01:4815th out of 16 at making the three.
01:5115th out of 16 at shooting inside the arc, Joe.
01:54A 5.5 point favorite for Kansas today.
01:56What's your spread line for them and TCU?
01:59Well, TCU is not rolling over for anybody, although they beat my Oklahoma State Cowboys last night.
02:05But probably you and I could have done that.
02:09But I'm saying, listen, TCU is not a team to be messed with or taken lightly in any way, shape,
02:16or form.
02:17Defensively, Jamie Dixon has got these guys playing.
02:20You watch this team and you scratch your head.
02:23They make plays when it matters the most.
02:25And the big question is now, of course, with Kansas, how long is Darren Peterson playing?
02:30Is he playing, Donnie?
02:32Those questions still here.
02:33Here we are into the ACC championships, right?
02:37So is he playing both halves?
02:39Is he not?
02:40Is he limited?
02:41I don't know.
02:42TCU feels like the kind of team, if somebody's going to get upset, TCU is likely going to be the
02:48culprit getting it done.
02:49Big 10 action.
02:51Another late night tip time at 9 p.m. in Chicago.
02:54Rutger is going to take on UCLA.
02:56Double digit favorite here for UCLA.
02:58Opened up at 11 and a half, still sits today in most marketplaces at minus 11 and a half.
03:03Mick Cronin and the boys looking to do some more damage.
03:06Or can Rutgers survive another day in the Big 10?
03:09Rutgers, UCLA, Joe, what's your spread line here?
03:12How is Rutgers winning games at all is beyond me.
03:16And they took over a, you know, an eco-medved team in Minnesota that I really thought had turned a
03:23corner here
03:23and was going to be dangerous, at least in the early going.
03:26But not so much, as Rutgers handled it last night, 72-67.
03:30And now they get to take on Mick Cronin.
03:33And listen, the basketball guards are funny.
03:35They got a great sense of humor.
03:37Let Mick Cronin get blown out here and sign me up for the after-game press conference
03:42because I just can't wait to see how him having to travel to Chicago
03:46and didn't have enough days in between is likely going to be the topic of conversation here.
03:52But UCLA should have no problem against Rutgers.
03:56But a lot of excuses this season for UCLA.
04:00Could have used Ace Bailey.
04:02Could have used little Harper Jr. out there at the court here for Rutgers.
04:04They don't need him.
04:05They're trying to advance and knock off UCLA today.
04:07Let's take a look at Syracuse here.
04:08We know they already fired their head coach for basketball in Autry.
04:12But now a new AD.
04:13And by the way, his name is Brian Blair.
04:15Is that B, Brian Blair from the Killer Bees of the WWF back in the day, Joe?
04:1912th athletic director in school history.
04:22I don't think there's a correlation there.
04:25But I do know this.
04:28They better, you know, out with the old, in with the new, right?
04:31So all the former leaders there from the athletic director right down now to Adrian Autry,
04:38who was kind of hand-picked by Bayeim, was he not?
04:42So, yeah, this is hopefully a fresh start.
04:46And they better nail this next hire because they're on the verge of becoming irrelevant in basketball.
04:53And that is not a good thing for Syracuse.
04:56I'll tell you what's not a good thing either.
04:57Memphis looked like they had a chokehold on the American.
05:00No longer anymore.
05:02Slipping are the times here.
05:03They finished 13-19, making it the worst season of the Penny Hardaway era here.
05:08Tough scene for Memphis down there.
05:10That's one of those teams that could be a juggernaut but just can't get out of their way
05:13and slipped to 13-19 this year.
05:15Ouch.
05:17Yeah, not a good, just not good.
05:19It was rough this year.
05:20It's been rough.
05:22You know, questions surrounding whether Penny's ever going to be bad.
05:25I mean, he dismissed some of his best players in the middle of the season.
05:30So, yeah, it's what happens when you got rid of the entire team a year ago
05:34and brought in all new guys who never played with one another.
05:38And guess what?
05:38They didn't like one another.
05:40So, not a great situation in Memphis.
05:42Shout out the NIL era here.
05:44Oregon State, they found themselves a new coach.
05:47It's Justin Joyner.
05:48Now they just got to go find their conference to try to win some basketball games now.
05:52Yeah, good old Wayne Tinkle.
05:55Great legendary status there over at Oregon State.
05:59But it is time to move on here.
06:01But listen, we know Hurley's gone.
06:03There are going to be some very experienced coaches available for programs
06:08that might be looking to start fresh.
06:10So, it would not shock me, Donnie, if all of these guys find themselves
06:15back on the sidelines at a new school sooner rather than later.
06:20Celebration at Arizona State.
06:21They won their first game of the Big 12.
06:23Could it be here?
06:24We're going to rally around Coach Hurley.
06:26We're going to win this tournament.
06:27Send us him.
06:28Send us into the tournament and him off in style.
06:31Until the first half happened here against Iowa State, Joe.
06:35At the break, 45-16.
06:38Final score, 91-42.
06:41Goodbye, Bobby Hurley.
06:43Well, the good news is they scored more points in the first half
06:46than Oregon did in their game.
06:49So, there's always that.
06:51But, yeah, no.
06:53That was – it was a nice story.
06:55But, my goodness, that was – you were never getting past Iowa State here.
06:59Just smothered them right off the bat.
07:01That game was over in the first ten minutes of the first half there, Donnie.
07:05But, again, he's another one of these guys.
07:07I couldn't believe he was there 12 years at Arizona State.
07:11Time for a change, but he'll be on the sidelines someplace else.
07:15Without a doubt, he will be one of the top guys recruited
07:19for a head coaching job in college basketball.
07:22Made the tournament a couple years, but I don't think anybody's crying over.
07:25Like, oh, I can't believe you guys did that.
07:27The time was there, 185-67 in his career.
07:29Time for a new coach here.
07:30We'll move on, see if he can make the best of it here.
07:33Kentucky making the best of it against LSU, but did not cover, Joe.
07:3687-82 final.
07:38High-scoring game between Kentucky and LSU.
07:41Yeah, yeah, they played with their food there once again,
07:44giving LSU far too many opportunities to stay in that game.
07:49And they were lucky.
07:50I mean, they didn't play any defense, Donnie.
07:52He gave up 43 points to LSU in the first half.
07:55That game was never staying under, by the way.
07:57They just rolled it here.
07:59But you got to win in advance, right?
08:01I mean, they did win by five, barely.
08:04But they moved on, and that's all that matters here
08:07because they were limping in to this conference tournament here,
08:11losing five of their last seven games.
08:13But that was a good win.
08:15Just win and move on.
08:16That's all it's about for Kentucky.
08:19BYU taking on Houston today, Joe.
08:22Seven o'clock tip time in the Big 12.
08:24You take a look at that line.
08:25Opened up around eight and a half.
08:26Now we're seeing most places now, Joe,
08:28have increased to nine and a half as a heavy favorite
08:30for the Houston Cougars in a total,
08:32which overnight, some outlets, 151 and a half,
08:35dropping like a rock to 145 and a half,
08:37even lower than the graphic that we have up there, Joe.
08:39How about that game tonight?
08:41BYU-Houston, dibance there.
08:42What can he give us?
08:44I mean, not a ton to struggle with here, Dottie,
08:49as far as this game goes.
08:50I mean, both teams likely already in the tournament.
08:54So this is just kind of, you know, fodder.
08:57I, dibance is a guy, listen,
08:59these single elimination tournaments, right?
09:02The best player on the court matters,
09:04and the best player on the court,
09:06even against Houston, plays for BYU.
09:09So anything is possible.
09:10By the way, Joe, let's quickly hit on this one.
09:12Miami, Ohio, in action.
09:15Not tonight, Joe.
09:17Today, how about this morning?
09:1911 a.m., they're going to take on UMass,
09:21and they're favored by seven and a half points.
09:23Look at that time.
09:24The Minutemen have given Miami of Ohio nothing but fit.
09:28The two times they played,
09:29a Miami of Ohio trailed in that game,
09:32in those games in the second half,
09:34and had to make miraculous comebacks.
09:36Not going to be easy.
09:37Undefeated teams, Joe, played at 11 a.m.
09:40Oh!
09:46Come on now, Joe.
09:47Conference tournaments in play, all-day action.
09:50Where are we leading the people to get that cash?
09:53I'm going to go back to the ACC
09:55with an afternoon game here, Donnie.
09:57And, listen, we just watched this game,
10:00and I got to tell you, Louisville kind of smoked Miami
10:04in Coral Gables to end the regular season.
10:08Donnie, they went 12 of 24 from three,
10:1020 of 29 on two-point attempts.
10:14But the reality is, Louisville couldn't stop Miami
10:17either in that game there.
10:19You would think with those kinds of numbers,
10:21you'd run away with the game.
10:22Uh-uh.
10:24They had no answer for Renau or Trey Donaldson.
10:28Miami likes to play at the rim,
10:30and they're going to get whatever they want inside the paint.
10:33The problem with Louisville is that if you don't go 12 of 24 from three,
10:38you're not winning this game,
10:39and I don't think they win this game.
10:41I think Miami bounces back, gets a little revenge here,
10:44and ends up winning the second meeting
10:46between these two teams today.
10:47Prediction Markets Edge right here on the early line.
10:50It's a Thursday.
10:51College basketball, of course, taking center stage.
10:54NBA action.
10:55We'll get to that.
10:55And many more hot topics.
10:56A different way to invest your money, Joe.
10:59Get in, get out, and get paid.
11:01Donnie Wright sat along with Joe Ranieri.
11:02Fired up for this half-hour edition of Prediction Markets Edge.
11:07I'm ready, Donnie, because we've got, well, madness upon us, Donnie,
11:11more than anything else.
11:12And I am looking very forward to getting it going here.
11:16So, let's do it, man.
11:18We've got some big games coming up here today.
11:21A lot of games early today.
11:22A lot of games late.
11:23A lot of games in total, which is what we'd love to see.
11:25That appetizer, Joe, before we get to Selection Sunday,
11:28and then the official start of March.
11:30Man, it's in Dayton for the first four next week.
11:33Let's get down to the ACC Tobacco Road.
11:36Clemson taking on North Carolina.
11:38North Carolina currently trading to win this game, Joe,
11:41at a 51% chance.
11:42Clemson at 49%.
11:44If you want to flip it over and take the spread on this game,
11:47North Carolina by 1.5 points, which means they have to win by a bucket,
11:50currently trading at a 45% chance.
11:53The total in this game, Joe, was at 140.5,
11:56and that's trading also at a 50% chance.
11:59What are we thinking today, Joe?
12:01North Carolina, Clemson.
12:04Well, I think there's a correlation here, Donnie,
12:06when it comes to these two teams.
12:08And the first thing that I would say is that I absolutely believe if you like
12:13North Carolina in this spot, you are likely looking at more points,
12:17not less points.
12:18But if you like Clemson, then Clemson has got to make this thing a rock fight.
12:23That's what they love to do.
12:24Make it a half-court game.
12:26Go ahead and limit the wide-open threes from the perimeter.
12:31That's just going to be a big problem for Clemson.
12:34But they've got the athleticism there to be able to contend in the paint.
12:38But they cannot get into some crazy shootout with North Carolina
12:42and think they're going to win.
12:43So I do think that Clemson has enough here to possibly pull the upset.
12:49Or though, at a pick-em price, Donnie, what are we really talking about here?
12:52I think Clemson can win this game outright.
12:56And if Clemson can win this game outright, certainly you'll be paid accordingly.
12:59But if you think, let's just say, Carolina wins this game
13:01and you get into a foul fest late, you can use the slider here
13:04on the County Marketplace, Joe.
13:05Slide it up to 7.5 points.
13:07A $100 wager would pay you back $250 here on that investment for North Carolina.
13:13Let's flip it over to the Big 12.
13:15TCU taking on Kansas, Joe.
13:18Kansas is the favorite.
13:19Currently trading at a 69% chance going up against TCU.
13:23TCU the underdog, of course, trading at a 31% chance.
13:26If we look at the point spread, Joe,
13:285.5 as a favorite by Kansas, trading currently at 50% as a chance in the total.
13:33Let's sit at 141.5 here.
13:36TCU, Joe, the one thing we know, not great on offense.
13:39Kansas has a potential top overall pick in the NBA draft.
13:42What gives today?
13:44Yeah, I kind of like, listen, TCU has been a little undervalued in the market, Donnie.
13:51We know Kansas and what they're capable of, right?
13:53But TCU has been surprising everybody.
13:57I mean, Jamie Dixon is one of the better coaches in the Big 12 and in college basketball altogether.
14:03It's not the most flashy group of kids that he has here, Donnie, in this team.
14:08But you know what they do is they make big shots when the game matters the most.
14:12But more importantly, they're going to bring some defense in this game here.
14:16I tend to lean towards the under.
14:19I don't think we're getting, I think this is going to be a rock fight today.
14:22This is one of the games I'm looking forward to.
14:25And of course, is Darren Peterson playing?
14:27Is he not playing?
14:28How long does he play?
14:30A lot of questions here still with Kansas.
14:33Absolutely.
14:33If you do think the game is going to stay under, you slide that down just a little bit lower,
14:37Joe, to 135.5.
14:38Now you got yourself some plus money, $100 investment pays back $209 if the game stays under, 135.5 points.
14:47Rutgers going to take on UCLA today.
14:50And look, if you're looking at just a money line victory or a chance to win this UCLA, 85%
14:55chance is the trade point right now that they will win this basketball game.
14:59Rutgers, a poultry 15%.
15:01But if you say to yourself, I don't know if I just want to go winner or loser, let me
15:05take a look at the point spread in this game.
15:0611.5 as a favorite for UCLA currently trading, Joe, at a 48% chance.
15:13I don't know how Rutgers keeps winning games here and getting into their spot is kind of laughable here when
15:20you think about it.
15:21But hey, they won last night.
15:23They beat what I thought was a pretty good Minnesota team there.
15:26They made the buckets when it matters the most.
15:29And now, could they got a little something going?
15:32Listen, UCLA is the better team.
15:35But UCLA, all year long, anytime they've had to leave the West Coast time zone, has been a little iffy,
15:42Donnie.
15:43There's been a lot of question marks about them.
15:45Ultimately, I think talent wins out.
15:47But I'm not running to the window to lay this number either with UCLA.
15:53Ultimately, this is likely staying way under the point total, though, given what we know about UCLA's defense with Mick
16:01Cronin and, quite honestly, the sporadic offense of Rutgers.
16:06Now, understand this, too.
16:08If you think Rutgers has a legitimate chance to win this game, Joe, they're probably going to have to be
16:11leading at the half.
16:12And even if they are, there's no guarantees they can win this game.
16:14If you think Rutgers comes out a little bit hot, Joe, have a trading at 21% here to win
16:19the first half.
16:20A $100 investment would pay you back $358 if the Scarlet Knights can hang around in this one.
